Overall, we enjoyed our experience. We had the stir fry veggies, curry chicken bao, boom boom chicken (yum), won ton noodles, Fooki Milk Tea, and Strawberry margarita (I was intrigued with the lychee) Would definitely come back just to enjoy a quick Fooki Milk Tea and a Curry Chicken Bao. Only disappointment was the strawberry margarita, was a bit too syrupy for my taste. I took a couple of sips and realized it wasn't worth continuing. This was a palate cleanser with regards to last Friday night in every way. Excellent service, warm, thoughtful staff and clean well-kept furnishings make a for a good start to a restaurant. It's easy to make something more flavourful with sugar, salt, or chili... but I prefer when it's a blend of spices giving a richer gustatory experience. In this respect, Fooki delivers in spades. Two of us had beef noodles and we had a pork belly rice as well. The green onion pancake beef roll we had for an appetizer. The flavour and textural balances were great, and nothing was over seasoned. We appreciated the food as much as the service and will definitely go again. The boom boom chicken was definitely my favorite from there- I love the seasoning they use on the chicken it's subtle but something is definitely there, and the chicken was cooked just right! Did online ordering hoping when I went down I didn't have to wait long. First off you have to go to their window whether you're dining in or doing take out. I rung the bell to let them know someone was there. It took 10mins for someone to come to the window and even help me. Frankly the service left a lot to be desired. We got the grandpa rolling beef, cowwow braised noodle soup and boom boom chicken rice plate . The grandpa rolling was not the greatest. Taste wise it was pretty bland and the most flavorful part is the oyster sauce. Would not get again. Next the cowwow braised noodle soup was good taste wise. Just a little too much fat on the meat for me and a lot oily for the soup. It was like every time I took a bite my lips were covered in a gloss of oil. Lastly the boom boom chicken was also good. First time here yesterday and I am pretty impressed. Interior is nothing fancy but cute. Almost feels like a side street Taiwanese restaurant so the feel is there. Omg. Food is so delicious! Flavors were so interesting and vibrant. My favorite was the rolling grandpa! The wrap it was made of was so crunchy even while it sat there for a little while. The jajiang flavor was more abundant than the beef scallion. Beef scallion was lighter flavored dish but the taste was still filling is that made sense. Lol and definitely add in the spicy sauce! Ordered a sweetened floral black tea and I felt like it wasnt anything special. Very light in flavor. The ice cream was super simple cause it was just vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup but they added the boba which made it interestingly yummy! Made reservations thinking that it would be busy on a Sunday at noon. The host said they would give away the table if we we were late by 10 min. So we arrived early and got our seats (have to ring a bell and someone will meet you at the window and welcome you in). I thought it would be super busy, but the entire time we were there, the restaurant wasn't full. One downside was that they didn't have boba ready for our drinks. Fooki is a fairly new restaurant opened up in 2020 serving Asian fusion Taiwanese food. I have tried out certain dishes from here: Cow Wow Noodle Soup, Classic Beed Noodle Soup, Monster Pork Chop, Holy Porky Bowl, Grandpa Rolling Beef, LiHing Mui Sweet Potato Fries, and Taiwanese Vintage Iced Tea. I would recommend the noodle soups. But my absolute personal favorite is the monster pork chop. I personally try to refrain from fried food in general. But the monster pork chop is so hard to resists. The pork chop is fried to perfection and seasoned beautifully with spices and flavor and topped with fried garlics. Finally got to try this place out for lunch since I was around the area. This place is just so perfect when you want to grab a quick bite. This is the best Taiwanese restaurant yet in this island. Extremely fast service! They offer takeout, catering and dine-in. Before you are able to enter the restaurant for dine-in service, you must be greeted by an employee in the screen window on your left hand side before the entrance. Then, they'll prompt you to fill out your contact information for COVID contact tracing and will check your temperature upon entrance. The overall process was less than 5 minutes to get you seated. After, you'll be told to scan a QR code with your phone to view the menu. The staff were very fast, attentive and super friendly. The waitress kept checking up on our table to make sure our cups were filled with water (knowing we ordered super spicy food) and just to see we needed anything else. They definitely provided superior customer service! The food was super delicious! I enjoy every single dish that was ordered. There was not one that did not satisfy me. I highly recommend ordering the Grandpa's Rolling Beef! The taste is almost similar to a Lumpia (because of the wrap) but with beef. It tasted amazing! For my main dish, I ordered the Spicy Wonton Noodle Soup in Medium spice from a scale of Mild to High spice (it was a bit too spicy for me). I'd suggest ordering it mild because it's already spicy as is. Getting any levels up than mild is just extra spice. As for desert, I ordered the Luv You So Matcha milk tea and it is sweet with the brown sugar. Because I was super excited to try the drink, I didn't shake (mix the brown sugar) the drink. First time trying Taiwanese food and this place definitely lives up to the hype. The cow wow soup is full of hearty flavors with tender meat and fresh noodles. The broth almost reminds me of pho or oxtail soup but with much more depth. The boom boom chicken is super crunchy and moist. Kind of like karaage chicken but on crack. I keep seeing this location as I drive by every night. Hubby, daughter and myself went here for lunch. You check in at the window. You must wear a mask upon entry and can't enter if you are sick. She gets your information and takes your temperature. You tell her how many in your party and she has a table ready for you. The inside is very cute and modern. I looked at the menu. We ordered take out and was very pleased with the service ! All of our food was actually there! The cow cow braised beef medium was a hit for me. The abundance of meat and the fall off the bone juicy bites took me to meat heaven!! The broth was ok not the greatest but overall a very decent bowl of noodles. The egg was ok I've had better as far a tea flavored but the creaminess was on point. Moving on to the ribs. The flavor was very light Chinese tasting noting extravagant but again enormous fall off the bone meat heaven!! I dipped mine in hot sauce they provided and that helped to "beef it up " a little. Next up was the Pork-chops super crispy on the outside and juicy in the middle. I don't really like pork but my mom devoured it. It had a slight tangy almost vinegary taste. I tried a piece it was ok. But the dried chopped crispy onion with chili they poured over the top was delicious. I stole some and put it on my soup!! We also tried 3 drinks the Mohito Mint sparkling water it wasn't impressive. The matcha really didnt care for it and the Ferraro Rocher was the best one of all three but again tastes like a chocolate milk good but not great. The amber boba was outstanding tho. It was just the right size and soft and chewy the way I like it ! I would defiantly return here to try more items!! I think the quality of the food is great for the prices. Pancake was a little dry but very tasty. Beef was also a little dry. Not sure if it was an "off" day. Still a great place to go. We visited this place when COVID begin and we ordered take out, for noodle dishes, usually it does not do too good to take out and eat at home later, therefore, when they open up for dine in, we went back to check it out again. I really like their "Check in" system, they have a window by the door, they asked you to fill out your information, check your temperature before you enter. Inside is nice and roomy, the tables spread out to give you the safe distance between customers. I ordered the Cowwow original beef noodle, there is quite a bit of beef (with bone) in the bowl. It tastes pretty good, however, I like the Chubby Rib bowl better because it has a richer taste because of the gravy (this is not a dish with soup base). My wife ordered the classic braised beef noodle, the beef is tender, the portion is just right. We find the double delight potstickers is just so so, nothing really special. The LihingMui sweet potato fries is something that you do not get to try all the time, it has a unique taste, but be careful, this LihingMui taste may over power your other dish. For the food, it gave them 9 out of 10, parking 10 out of 10, the interior 9 out of 10. I recommended. read more

Decided to come here and take my parents to get them out of the house and try something new. They gave the food to us in plastic takeout containers which I believe (and hope?) is a COVID safety measurement. I ordered the jajang noodles with milk tea and amber boba. I honestly thought my food was underwhelming. I think I could get a packet of Jajangmyeon noodles and make it myself. I also tried better milk tea at other places for a better price. The only rememberable item was the Cow Wow Noodles (my father's order), but we weren't too crazy about it for the amount of money we spent. Having lived in San Francisco and Monterey Park, California which both have fabulous Taiwanese food, this flavor that I crave has eluded me in Hawaii. I was wonderfully surprised to learn of this new restaurant that opened at the height of the pandemic! Because of that they were able to pivot and use technology to uniquely cater to their customers. We had a wonderful waiter (maybe manager or even owner?) help us, very friendly and knowledgeable. But if you are in more of a hurry, there are QR codes on the table that parties can place their orders directly to the kitchen, bypassing a server. While everyone in the party can enter their own order, the software knows they are the same party and table. As popular restaurants are disappearing or are not open to capacity for lack of finding enough help, Fooki uses technology to overcome the impacts of COVID on the workforce. As for the food, we were there for lunch and there was so much we wanted to try! We ordered delicious drinks: Minty Mojito (mocktail) - fresh mint leaves, lime, and sparkling water, very refreshing!; Strawberry Mojito - same as the Minty Mojito plus with strawberry purée - a sweeter refreshing version of the Minty Mojito; Iced Vietnamese Coffee (my favorite! A smooth, rich, strong medium sweet iced coffee); and the Black Sesame Iced Milk Tea for those of you that love sesame! For appetizers we started with Holy Pork Nachos (Fooki is a Taiwanese Fusion restaurant) which is a spicy, cheesy, stir fried ground pork mixture served with the thinnest crisp but chewy Chinese onion pancakes, SO yummy!!! We also ordered two additional sides of the onion pancakes for the amount of stir fried meat plus extra to eat on its own); the Grandpa Rolling Beef which is seasoned thinly sliced braised beef rolled in the wonderful Chinese pancake then drizzled with a sake hoisin sauce, (can you tell I love the Chinese onion pancakes?!); and the Double Delight Potstickers, yummy potstickers that are a cross between traditional potstickers and xiao long bao (a Shanghai soup dumpling), so yummy!!! For our lunch dishes, we ordered the Classic Beef Noodle Soup with braised beef shanks and vegetables, the beef was super tender and the noodles were like flattened udon noodles, the soup was very flavorful!; the Cow Wow Noodle Soup which is the same as the classic noodle soup but with added beef ribs and tendons; Beef Scallion Noodles, served in a bowl but is not a soup noodle, yummy beef shanks and vegetables plus thin strips of crisp taro chip garnish; and the Boom Boom Chicken, basically a crisp, lightly battered fried chicken with basil and a sweet chili aioli dipping sauce, a wonderful version of a popular Taiwanese street food, so yummy! So yummy I came 2 days in a row! My sister and I kept passing by this place at pearl Kai shopping center and after my coworker praised about it, I had to come see for myself. We went during dinner time on a Saturday evening and waited about 10ish minutes. We were seated at the counter since it was pretty packed. They have milk teas, freshly brewed teas and coffees and sparkling beverages like the mock mojito. We ordered the grandpa beef roll which was flavorful, a pretty big portion - enough to share! A little salty but still good. I got the cow wow noodles and it was DELISH. Beef was so tender, almost shredded pretty much. A hearty broth. The fresh noodles was the winner for me. My sister got the chubby rib bowl which was also fall off the bone kinda good. Another huge portion, so flavorful and so filling. I got the sesame frap is my dessert, they also have a small variety of ice cream. That sesame frap was everything I wanted. Not too sweet, perfectly creamy, nutty and smooth consistency. My sister got the black sesame milk tea which wasn't so good only bc the sesame got so clumped and so gritty to enjoy. Everything we ordered was like $70! Taiwanese Food sounded like an interesting option so we gave Fooki a try for lunch which during these times of COVID-19 was take out only. However, their signs indicate that they do provide dine-in service for dinner. No problem, it was a beautiful day so we took our take-out order down the road to Neal Blaisdell Park for a nice outdoors lunch under a shady tree. Fooki's food was a refreshing change of pace and I'd go back again to see what else they have to offer, but I was surprised that the quality of dishes we ordered were so mixed despite the fact that we purposefully ordered what seem to be the most popular and highly recommended dishes made by previous Yelp reviewers: Boom Boom Chicken ($14.50) - easily the best dish we had. Crispy, flavorful, 5-spicy - delicious! Cow Wow Beef Noodle ($18.50) - I enjoyed the thick and chewy noodles that they used and their broth was uniquely delicious, but the ribs we were served were dry, bland and chewy.
