What initially made my try Fong's was when I found out they deliver to the place I work. As far as delivery chinese food, the quality is standard, it comes hot, and there's just enough to fill up. Their "bento box" deal is good when you want some appetizers to go along with it. The "General Tso's chicken" is a little dry, breaded, and then soaked in a spicy/sweet sauce. Their broccoli beef sits in a pool of beef gravy, which keeps the beef warm and marinated, but it can get the broccoli soggy. Chow mein is pretty greasy, and everything else isn't really worth mentioning. Bottom line: If you're in Pleasant Grove and have a hankering for cheap chinese food, but don't feel like leaving the house, this is for you. read more

Thus was our first time here. Came here on Saturday night. Place was packed! We waited 35 minutes for our food but it was pretty good food! The sweet & sour chicken and fried dumplings were really light and crunchy, not thick or heavy. We both had Bento boxes. We'll definitely come back again and try other things. read more

So good. This is the second time I've ordered takeout from Fong's and both times it has been top notch. The beef lo mein and chicken lo mein are both delicious, as is the honey walnut chicken. I ordered a lunch bento box for take out with orange chicken, lo mein, pot stickers, and a veggi roll. Not super impressed. The sauce on the chicken was flavorless. So was the lo mein. The veggi roll was tiny, the exact same size as one of my fingers. The pot stickers were cold and soggy. Probably wouldn't come back to be honest. read more

I gave it plenty of chances. I tried to like this place, because I love Asian cuisine. I wanted to love this place, because it was nearby, convenient, and I like to support local, and privately owned establishments. Needless to say, I have now written off this place in my rotation of dining. From the very first time I dined here, it just did not get any better. My wife won't go back, and thats one thing, but to keep me away, it takes some serious blunders. What put the nail in the coffin for me was that I went in to order take out sushi, and as I walked in, I noticed that many of the staff were all out in the dining area eating. My trip in here was also well within the posted dining hours. As I approached the counter, I tried to figure out who it was that would help me. Nobody stepped up! I finally spoke to a couple of them and told them I wanted to order a sushi roll, but still no one wanted to get it going. Finally, a younger man who may have been a server, said I'll go ahead and take your order, and so he did, took my money, and then... Nothing... Happened... Nobody moved. They all just sat and finished their own meals, oblivious to the fact that they had a paying customer in the store. I mean, I know they all have a right to eat, and they all deserve a break, but ALL AT THE SAME TIME! DURING REGULAR BUSINESS HOURS!!! Then, probably a good 10 minutes past slowly by, and the sushi chef (who I think actually is either the owner, or the main chef) finally got up and slowly made his way back around the counter. He took FOREVER! He acted as if he had another 12 hours to complete my small order. I was getting really irritated at this point, and I can't tell you how close I came to shouting profanities at them and walking out. Had I not already pre-paid, I would have walked out. So eventually, my order was finished and I finally walked out the door fuming mad. Had I thought anyone cared, I would have called back and given them a piece of my mind, but I didn't because I'm sure it would have been the same person who runs the place, who made the roll, who didn't give a rats arse about good customer service. Although the sushi roll was fairly good, I didn't enjoy it at all because of the way this whole order all went down. On another previous occasion, I ordered a sushi roll to go, and although they got it going right away, I ended up sitting there another 10 minutes, because apparently they said they either dropped the roll and had to re-do it, or they made it wrong, and had to start over. To finish up, I will not support this establishment any longer, due to their serious lack of focus, and putting the customer above themselves. I will not return. Case and point! read more

To begin with the chinese food I grew up eating was either homemade by a family friend or in Chicago's China town so I get it I've been spoiled with awesome food. This place can't even begin to compete with either. The hot & sour soup was awful and we've only ordered it once. The pepper steak is decent as is the broccoli and beef. We've ordered the Mongolian beef on a few occasions and it always seems to have more green onion then beef and is much sweeter than we are use to with very little spice. I guess if you are use to fast food Chinese that you can find in a mall then perhaps you will enjoy the place, but if your looking for authentic Chinese food get on 15 and keep driving till you hit Vegas because it does not exist in Utah. read more

Very disappointing. After reading some great reviews I thought I was in for a treat. It was prepared and delivered fast. The potstickers were delicious but the sauce tasted like straight vinegar. The lettuce wraps had absolutely no flavor. And the Thai basil chicken tasted neither of Thai food or basil but rather like vinegar and pepper. A complete disappointment. read more

I live across the street from Fong's and so I seldom eat in the restaurant. Just came to pick up an order placed online to find out the tablet that the orders come to was dead and turned off so they didn't have my order. The 50's diner decor is bewildering, but my lunch was really good. When I saw they had Chinese, Thai and Sushi, I was kind of hesitant to go, but I rolled the dice and went in. My server was young but friendly... I asked him for a recommendation and he suggested the General Tso's. I asked him for something a bit more off the beaten path, and then he suggested the Nine Flavor Beef. That sounded intriguing, so I ordered it... and I'm glad I did. Turned out to be a Thai curry (sort of)... a curry-style sauce with peanuts & typical thai seasonings & vegetables, but with a hearty portion of beef and crispy string beans. It was really very tasty -- no complaints at all. The meat was done perfectly (very tender) and all the vegetables were nice & crispy. The food was served up quickly. It's no terribly close to my office, so I'm not likely to be a regular or anything... but I'll definitely go again to try their bento boxes. read more

From what I had heard from my wife, Fong's (she used to live in Draper) was pretty good. She finally introduced me to Fong's, but the experience was disappointing. The delivery took a long time, considering that we're right around the corner. And the food was mediocre. The ham fried rice reminded me of the ham fried rice that you microwave from the frozen food section in the grocery store. If you're in the market for something of a Pan-Asian mom and pop place in Northern Utah County you could certainly do a lot worse than Fong's. I've never been disappointed with the food or service in any of my visits there. I'd particularly recommend the honey walnut shrimp. Delicious. read more

This is our go to place for Chinese in our house. We love the value of the bentos and the amount of food we her for the price. They come with the entree, rice or noodles, pot sticker, and 4 California individual rolls for around $7 or $8. The Cashew Chicken is our favorite with all the vegetables, chicken and nuts. It is a salty with all the sauce, so I usually ask to cut the sauce in half. The Kung Pow, Sesame Chicken is also yummy. We used to go here for sushi, but they changed chefs a few years ago and the flavor isn't there anymore. Too much rice, not enough filling. But we love that is us a cheap and quick take out meal for my family. When we do dine in, I love the old school red and white diner feel that it has even though it is a little strange paired with Chinese food. But it works! read more

We enjoyed Fong Fine Asian Dining for the first time last night and it we were truly impressed. First off - they Deliver!!! And the prices are very reasonable for the quality and portions you receive. We started with the Cream Cheese Wontons - YUM! You can tell these are made fresh and instead of the typical green onion, they put in a white/yellow onion (vidalia?) which gives a rich sweet flavor to the cream filling. Then we enjoyed the Mongolian Beef - perfectly portioned between Veggies and Meat with a savory flavor. We also shared the Walnut Honey Chicken - simply delicious! If you want good Asian dining, don't go here. Try Rice Wok just a mile down the road in Orem. We placed an order over the phone with Fong for delivery and they said it'd be 1 hr and 15 minutes..after an hour an a half I call to touch basis on our food and they didn't have the order in their computer so they said we could pick it up it 15 minutes. We show up 20 minutes later and our food still won't be ready for another 10 so we just left...called Rice Wok & they said we could get our food in 15 minutes and so we did and it was hot and fresh right when we got there! read more

Love ordering out from fong. We live around the corner and it is our goto for ordering Asian delivery. It is aways fresh and taste great. I cannot speak to much of the staff other then during my food pick ups or delivery they are aways friendly. Portions are good and we eat off the leftovers for a few days. Fong has been in our regular restaurant rotation for many years. However, tonight was the last time we'll order from them. To be fair, ordering from Fong is easy; that's not the problem. But the last few times we've eaten there or ordered from them we've noticed the food doesn't taste as good; the quality has gone down. I've been sad ever since they took the California roll off their menu; it was one of my favorites. Tonight I ordered the honey walnut chicken and something was missing--it was lacking sweetness and some of the chicken was semi-raw. Basically, I got bland battered undercooked chicken, On a previous order from Fong the taste of the lo-mein noodles was off. I prefer to eat at locally-owned restaurants especially during the pandemic, but I won't waste my money on sub-par food. I'm sorry that Fong Asian Dining will no longer be on my list because they were my favorite Chinese restaurant. But no more. read more

I went to lunch at fongs this afternoon. It is a cute little diner with a bar and booths. There was plenty of parking. I ordered the bento box with kung pao shrimp. It was absolutely delicious. I can't wait to try some sushi there. No all you can eat sushi. But it wasn't too expensive. read more

We order from Fongs all the time. We find the food to be very good and fresh. We are vegetarian and they are so willing to work with us on changing things around. We find the prices to be decent, and it's better than most Asian places around us. We get the Kang-Pao, lo mein, and coconut curry usually. I did have a bite of the honey walnut shrimp once, and I didn't like it at all. It is like eating candy for dinner. And this is where the good stuff ends... I know it was converted from something else, but it is just funny inside and out. It does not look like a Chinese restaurant. We have been in Fongs several times to eat. This has always been a disaster. The place is so small, and the kitchen cannot handle a lot at one time. If there is a big party in there, just turn around and leave. They also have a bunch of dry goods stacked out in the table area. It takes forever to get served and get food. And, don't expect it to come out all at once. We went there for a family dinner one time. Some people were done by the time the others got food. One plate of food finally came out when we were ready to pay the bill. And there was no offer to take it back or off the bill. The service is just awful. So, order from Fongs! Pick it up, have it delivered... But, don't expect good service at the restaurant. Update 3/6/2014 - We went to Fong last night and received great service. We got the Asian lady and she came back several times to refill drinks. The food came out promptly and was wonderful. There was another young guy working with her that was the typical doofus we have had before, but she was great. They have even cleaned up all the dry goods in the restaurant area. Maybe they are reading these reviews. It wasn't busy and maybe that's the reason the service was so good. But, it gives me hope. I will try eating in the restaurant again. read more

Came on a Friday night with my family of four. After waiting an hour for our food. we had to just ask for a to go box. Of the 8 tables with patrons 4 tables that arrived after our party were serve before ours, with bigger orders. Rather good Asian food place. Nine flavor beef and Yakisoba noodles are my favorites. It's a simple diner setup so no ambiance. It can feel a bit cramped but the food is worth it and very inexpensive. Sushi is not bad either. read more
