Hot and Sour Soup
Samantha T.

Decided to give this a try due to the reviews but I'm sad to say, it was not the best as everyone says. The hot and sour soup was super soy sauce-y and tasted a bit off. Pon pon chicken was decent, it had a good crunch but the sauce had leaked all over the bag and was just too much. The fried rice?! Sooo hard. I barley ate any of it. I will say that service was fast though. Not sure if I'd come try again but never say never.

General Taos chicken and lo mien noodles - A foam takeout container displays General Tso's chicken coated in sauce and lo mein noodles mixed with vegetables such as carrots and green onions. The container is placed on a wooden table, with a plastic fork inserted into the chicken and a small white cup nearby. A small paper packet is also visible on the table.

I've heard this place was the best around and wow it really is!! The teenagers working were kind and had great recommendations! The food was hot and freshly made so be careful when eating it is very fresh! The owner is from mainland China so that tells you how authentic the food is! This is definitely our new Chinese spot. I'm honestly bummed I'm only trying it now after a year of living here! Small space but not many people eating inside most people we saw were takeout. Jazz/elevator music playing but still a relaxing experience.

The container is on a wooden table, and behind it is a thank you note card with red text, placed on a small white tray. The scene suggests a meal from a Chinese takeout restaurant.

Order Lo Mien instead of fried rice and received white rice. Also asked for the teriyaki sauce to be on the side of my beef and broccoli and it was mixed in

This is located at a tiny "strip mall" across from Chevron and next to Jurassic Taco. It's the only Asian place in EM, so I can see why it's lasted so long. My wife and I have lived here for over 12 years and we finally decided to try it. We did lunch because they had "lunch specials" where it's an entree, ham fried rice and 2 potstickers. When you walk in you can see that the dining area is small and needs some cleaning. The tabletops looked like they needed a good Clorox wipe down. Obviously a quick place for lunch for workers in the area. There were construction workers in there when we arrived and a couple came in when we were leaving. They seemed to make the entree part fresh-- we can see it from the counter. The owner was at the counter taking orders. Two workers in the back. Service was fast. What we ordered: 2 lunch specials: one chicken Lo Mein and one sweet and sour chicken. Both were hot and newly made but the game fried rice was not. It was kept warm in a rice cooker. I don't know why they call it "Ham" fried rice since there was very little ham to be found. And what ham we found was very tiny. Potstickers were hard and fried and had definitely been sitting awhile. The chicken lo mein was just ok. Definitely forgettable. The sweet and sour chicken was dry inside. Not much flavor, had to add something extra to it. In conclusion , I definitely prefer Panda Express over this place and will definitely will make the drive into Saratoga vs coming back here.

Ok I admit I'm hard to please when it comes to Chinese food since I lived in California the first 25 yrs of my life. That's why I changed my review from 2 stars to 3. I am Asian as well, so with that background and my growing up with California Chinese food ... I have yet to find anything here in Utah comparable. But... if you do not have anything else to compare to then I suppose this location is "alright" (in the words of my 16 yr old son ). Upon presentation and visual judgement: the food looks like it would be delicious, almost drool worthy. It was ok. If only everything tasted as good as it looked! (Think commercials!) The owner told me he lived in Provo. When him it was my 1st time here -- and I've lived in EM for 12+ years! He stated he has been the owner for about 5 yrs but before that this place had probably 2-3 other owners. He was definitely "authentic Asian". We ordered 2 lunch plates to try it out: Sweet and Sour Chicken and Chicken Lo Mein. Both come with ham fried rice and 2 potickers. I saw them transfer our main entree from pan to take out box so that seemed promising. However, the owner then reached into a giant rice cooker to add the rice and an into bowl on the counter for the two potstickers so I have no idea how fresh these items were. The chicken was ok in the low mein but the sweet and sour chicken was a lil hard and dry inside. My hubby and sons stated they preferred Panda Express over these. The "ham fried rice" is basically rice with soy sauce for coloring. Not enough flavor/ taste and every now and then (it was line a treasure hunt) you would find a pea or a minuscule piece of what I guess is ham??? Cuz your guess is as good as mine cuz this mystery meat was unrecognizable. Maybe really burnt ham. Both the noodles and the rice needed more seasoning/ flavor so I used the extra sweet and sour sauce i asked for to ask to the rice for a lil bit of flavor. I had chili sauce at home that i added as well. But it was basically white rice if you were blindfolded and ate it. Also upon walking into this establishment, you can tell there us not much attention to how they want to present themselves as far as In House dining is concerned. The cleanliness of the tables were questionable. It's almost as if they WANT YOU TO TAKE YOUR FOOD TO GO ONLY. In fact, upon coming thru the door, the owner asks me "to go order?" I can totally see this as a quick -- I don't want to go all the way to SS for Panda Express -- place for lunch for workers in the area. In fact that's who was there before and after us, construction workers. All in all, I'm definitely not going back but I can see that it has potential for Eagle Mtn locals to get a lil Asian food fix (if you have never had any before ). I mean, you gotta admit, this place has lasted THIS LONG, so they are definitely making enough money to stick around.

Chicken Fried Rice - A foam takeout container contains chicken fried rice with mixed vegetables including peas and carrots, along with pieces of chicken. The rice appears to be seasoned and cooked, suitable for quick service or delivery from a casual Chinese restaurant.

Good quality food, clean restaurant, quick service, decent prices, attentive owner. Restaurant was busy on a Friday evening, but owner was keeping things moving quickly. I was surprised at the turnaround time from order placed at counter to walking out the door. Less than 10 mins.

Interior decoration - The image shows three dolls dressed in colorful traditional attire, each standing on pink bases, positioned on a wooden surface. A detailed model of a sailing ship with multiple masts and sails is placed behind the dolls. To the left, a large blue and white ceramic vase with floral patterns is partially visible. The background features a plain wall and a small electronic device near the right edge of the surface.

I'm not sure how I missed this hidden place in Eagle Mountain, right down the road from me. I knew it existed, but for some reason or another, never got around to going inside and trying it out. Fast forward to a year plus of living here in Eagle Mountain and I was craving some Chinese food but didn't want to go far to get it. Decided to give this place a shot and boy was I surprised! The owner was super nice from the second I entered, told me to take my time and even offered some suggestions before going back to preparing dumplings and the like (this is one of those things you see in places that are usually pretty legit). I glanced over the menu and decided I wanted to try the General Tso's combo plate. I ordered the dinner portion, and in hindsight, almost wish I didn't because the portions were huge!! It took me and my brother to finish one whole plate! The food was prepared fresh. The dinner combo comes with ham fried rice, 2 cheese wonton's and one egg roll. All of it was delicious, hot, and in big boy portions. If you want to make a meal or two, or three, I recommend getting the dinner combo. Now that I know what is hiding down the street from me, I will for sure be going back often. Don't get me wrong; I love me some Panda's but after this experience, I just have to go back and try other things that sounded good too. Kung Pao chicken...Sesame Chicken...noodles...mm..

Mostly rice !!! Lots of money for rice. - Four white plastic takeout containers with open lids are arranged on a granite countertop. The containers hold different dishes: one with fried rice mixed with vegetables, one with cooked noodles, and two with rice and vegetable stir-fries. The containers are empty or partially filled, indicating they have been recently used for takeout or meal prep. A potted plant is visible in the background.

I ordered ham fried rice, chicken low mien, cashew chicken and beef broccoli and egg drop soup. Wanted to spoil my wife. It came to over $73. First problem was the delivery driver did not knock or ring the door bell. My food sat at my front door with the food getting cold in this freezing weather and there are lots of cats roaming here. Second problem was the food from this restaurant. The ham fried rice and chicken low mien noodle contained were fine. However, the cashew chicken and beef broccoli came with mostly rice in those containers. Very little cashew chicken or beef broccoli. I'm never ordering from them again.

A takeout meal in a white plastic container features fried rice with green onions, orange chicken with sesame seeds, and two spring rolls. A small cup of red dipping sauce is also included. The meal is set on a person's lap inside a vehicle, with part of the steering wheel and seat visible in the background.

I am 130% positive I wrote an awesome review about Asian Cafe before but I have no clue where it went. My first week of living in Eagle Mountain, I lived off of Asian Cafe. I had it once and was hooked from then on out. I have typically always ordered the sesame chicken. I tried another chicken once and it wasn't as good. Most of the time, the food is spot on but I have experienced it a few times when it is not and that always stinks. Sometimes it takes longer than they tell you, which is hard when you have things to do for the day. The flavor tends to be a hit or miss, luckily is is almost always a hit. I have some app that makes it quicker and easier to order, which is always great too! I love having an awesome Chinese place so close to me.

Sweet and sour chicken with ham fried rice

I have eaten here for a few years here and there and I like their food. However this time the fried rice was super dry and kind of gross. The sweet and sour chicken was fine so I ate all of that but I couldn't even eat the rice. The cheese wontons where good as well as the egg roll. I will probably eat here again and if it's better next time I'll update my review.

Sweet and sour pork, Orange chicken, walnut shrimp & Sesame Chicken - A white table holds several Chinese takeout containers filled with different dishes. The dishes include sweet and sour pork, orange chicken garnished with lemon slices, and broccoli with chicken in a creamy sauce. Some containers are empty, indicating the food has been partially eaten. Silver spoons are placed in two of the containers, and the setting appears to be a casual dining or takeout environment.

A gentleman finally got up to go strike a match under someone's year end. The young female server comes over half grumpily with a slight wannabe smile, and takes our drink order. She brings most of the drinks fairly quickly. But doesn't even attempt to ask if we're ready to order and we've been there 25ish minutes waiting?! The grill across from us got sat after us and by the time she came back to see if we were ready to order, they were done with the show and eating. *InsertEyeRoll*. She took our orders, repeating them and went on her way and shortly returned with our soup and salad. A few more minutes go by just barely before our cook shows up. He gets asking about everyone's orders and meat preference. Awesome. He starts his show, as always... scrambled eggs and rice first right?! Unfortunately, out of 8 of us 7 ordered fried rice, one steamed. Server brought out steamed rice to the one, and cook dishes out 5 bowls of fried rice. Two of us question where our rice was. So they have to prep and cook in the kitchen. Like WTAF?! But whatever... Cook was good, but not overly funny. He didn't even use the funny oil peeing boy (IYKYK) which my 9yo old always gets excited about. Food was cooked just right IMO but server never came back to refill drinks or see if we needed anything. They don't have yum yum sauce it's something much runnier which was disappointing. After the cook was done, they were practically rushing us out, by picking up plates, offering boxes, and setting new clean dishwater near the grill. I'm glad that they are efficient, but where's my server? Where's my water & wine refill? For a Friday evening and NOT very busy, I was really bummed for how horrible our experience and service was. This is one of the best teppanyaki restaurants around. This server didn't do her job and our last 5 star experience turned to a 3 star and was underwhelming sadly.

They used to have a different name, and a different look inside, and their upgrades look so beautiful and classy, they made the best changes! My favorite dish is getting Shrimp and Filet for my hibachi meal, and the gold coast roll for sushi. They have a separate eating spot for eating just sushi vs hibachi, which is even better. Great sushi at a reasonable price. The restaurant was lively and busy, with many sushi rolls to choose from, and their tuna is especially fresh and flavorful. The hibachi is also a standout--tasty, well-cooked, and served with an entertaining presentation similar to Benihana. Overall, Koi Japanese Steakhouse offers quality food, a fun atmosphere, and excellent value. Highly recommended if you're craving sushi or hibachi!
