Folsom Thai - Chow fun - Thai Near Me - Boulder, Colorado

I've ordered here many times and the quality has been consistent. Drunken noodles and papaya salad were all so tasty!

What a great new addition to Boulder! Delicious food served fresh and hot, THE BEST service (everyone was so helpful and nice), and the Thai Iced Tea is to die for. Honestly, the people here were our favorite part (and that's saying a lot because everything was so delicious). We will be back! read more

Folsom Thai - Pad Thai, Thai iced tea, and Massaman Curry! - Thai Near Me - Boulder, Colorado

Wow! This place is awesome, food is really authentic. My wife and I love Thai food, even spent 2 weeks in Thailand and took a cooking class. I thought I would get tired of eating Thai for 2 straight weeks(then Vietnamese for a week). But NO!!!! That is how much I love Thai food. We tried another Thai place in Boulder a few years ago and were very disappointed, especially since there ate so many great restaurants in Boulder. I was discouraged from eating Thai in Boulder, cuz we live in So Cal and have really good Thai there. I was having a craving for som Tom Yum Goong, so I thought I'd give Folsom Thai a try. I ordered it, med spicy. Wow! It was sooo good. I even ordered another bowl it was so good. I also had the spring rolls, which were really fresh and good also. The food is so good here, i came back 2 nights latet and tried the Pad See Yew, another of my favorite Thai dishes. Also terrific! I will definitely come back to Folsom Thai when I am in town. Which is once or twice a month. read more

Great creative food. This restaurant has what isn't easy to describe. It just seems like everything they make is wonderful.

If you're looking for Thai food in Boulder, this is the place to go. I got the chicken pad Thai, and the ingredients tasted fresher than any I have had in Thai food. I asked for a spiciness level of 4/5, and it did not disappoint. Based on the recommendations of other reviewers, I also got the Thai iced tea, and it was PHENOMENAL. The woman who took my order was extremely friendly and helpful, and the restaurant was very clean and nice for sitting down to eat. They were also sure to tell me that the straw for the tea was compostable, which is very important for us Boulderites! read more

The drunken noodles are a favorite and it's always delicious. The thai green tea has a sweetness that helps pick you up from a long day. It's served in a mason jar, which is great to help reduce waste! The owner and his staff have been kind, friendly, and are really nice people. Highly recommend! read more

The crab wontons are delicious as are the curries. We also got tofu spring rolls and way too much rice (we didn't know the curries came with rice). The Thai Iced Tea was also tasty. Everything was delivered hot enough to eat, which is unusual and the order was perfectly correct the first time. Recommended! read more

OK, I'm going to give this a solid four if not 4.5, if I could... The food was delicious! I have only been here once, but I'm excited to try it again. The food was great. Delicate flavors and for once, actual spice in the thai hot!! Some people underestimate how spicy some of us want it and I'm glad they brought it on!!!! I downgraded one star just because the day I went there was no one to explain what to do in terms of ordering... so my friend and I sat there for a little bit until someone apologized and came over... I would suggest that they had a sign that explains what to do for new timers. You must go to the counter and order/pay first. At least when I was there, the only interaction w staff was to pay at the counter and then bring food to the table and that was it. There's station that you get water from... Which is very convenient. And also there are boxes set out for you don't have to trouble anyone for a box. I really like that. The other suggestion I would have, selfishly, is to incorporate more options for vegetarians. I have a feeling that they would sub things if you ask. But it would be nice to see it on the menu as well. For example, many Thai restaurants have Tom Yum soup with tofu (for example)... the curries have tofu and there are good options, but it would be great to have more. There is a parking lot to park in, which is nice. My friend and I thought we had to park on the street. But we could've parked around back. Just FYI! read more

We've ordered from you many times in the past. We order through GrubHub. Tonight there were two problems with our order and we only ordered a handful of things.....Our spring rolls were completely missing from the order, sad because that is my favorite part of your offerings. Second, I have trouble digesting green bell peppers. I requested no green bell peppers in the Panang curry I ordered. The only thing we got in the curry was green bell peppers and a few pieces of beef. It was massively disappointing. There are many many Thai restaurants on GrubHub that service Boulder. I think we will be ordering from them in the future. GrubHub will be getting this feedback as well... That an item was missing from my order and that my request for no green peppers was completely ignored. Why do you have a box that specifically asks for special requests if you are unwilling to accommodate them? read more

I recently moved to Boulder and ordered Folsom Thai the first night in my new house. I ordered the pork Pad Thai and Egg Rolls. The Pad Thai was wonderful and very flavorful. The pork had a beautiful char in it while still remaining juicy. They provided the extra limes I requested which was great! The egg rolls were a little bland and the sauce really helped. I'd probably skip the egg rolls next time. read more

Noodle dishes are pretty good, but the fried rice here (especially pineapple) really slaps. Thai hot is a good spice level too, not just a challenge that no one should ever ingest. read more

Service was fast and good. Food was good and portions were sufficient. Enjoyed their pad Thai and fried rice. Value for money! Will return

Whoa, this place is fantastic. I kept things simple and ordered pad thai and fresh spring rolls BUT you know how when you order fresh spring rolls from most places, there's a little layer of chewy sadness because they were made in bulk and waiting to be ordered? Not here. Fresh means fresh. Furthermore, "medium" spice level is exactly as it should be! They're not trying to hurt me but they're also not wrongly assuming I mean "slightly less mild". What a delight! read more

Holy cow!! It's been a long time since I've had Thai so good. The sticky rice with mango is a must have if it's on the specials when you're there. Great stuff! read more

Second favorite Thai spot in boulder as a more affordable option. I have tried their curries and a couple of the stir fry dishes. No complaints! Curries are always my go to and they were scrumptious here! I've never dined in there, only take out. Portions are good, prices good, and food is delightful. I would totally recommend this place! read more

The worst experience ever. I have to wait 1 hour and 25 minutes for the food and it was terrible. No idea how the ratings are so high. Would'be give 0 ratings if given a chance. read more

We dined in and ordered pad Thai, green curry and ramen. We were apprehensive ordering ramen at a Thai restaurant but took the chance. Well the ramen was mediocre. The noodles were over cooked and the broth was very average. The pad Thai and green curry were not bad not great either. The ambience inside screams take out only. Although the place is spacious for dining in the establishment seems to encourage take out only. You order at the counter and bus your own table even though they do accept tips. Since that was our first time dining in and we did tip, we weren't sure what the protocol was for busing our own table and the staff quickly told us to put our dishes and not in a very nice way. It's too bad we really wanted to like this place as we have not found good Thai restaurants in the area. read more

Pad Thai tasted like dish water mixed with wet dog... 0 flavor so bland had to get a refund.

Craving Tom Kha Gai and some noodles so I tried delivery. Even though I ordered right in the middle of lunchtime my order arrived before the estimate. Still very hot! The broth was perfect and the soup was wonderful. So good! Will definitely order again! read more

I decided to let my girlfriend choose where to eat which was probably my first mistake but after accusing her of not reading the reviews, to my surprise this place had great reviews. but in my eyes they don't deserve anymore than 1.5 stars. Let me set it straight tho, food wasn't bad other than the overwhelming scent of what I would describe politely as feces coming off the chicken, spice level 2, pad thai. As for the yellow chicken curry also spice level 2 was not too shabby but great is an overstatement. Also the service here is non existent. We received our food all at once including appetizers, before we even got our drinks. And just when I was regretting the tip I left (which they sneakily make you do at the beginning of your experience) we found out you gotta be your own bus boy as well as get your own water. Don't even know what I just paid for. Anyway, if I could go back in time I would probably just do people a favor and stop this place from opening all together. read more

Just ordered food. Waiting on the rest. Can't wait to try it. Yelp phone number link is bad.

I LOVE their Tofu Pad Thai. Super crispy, well-seasoned tofu pieces dished out generously in a single portion. The crumbled peanuts on top noticeably elevate the dish with a little extra crunch and peanut flavor. The sauce is delicious! And unlike every other experience I've had with delivery Pad Thai, Folsom's Pad Thai delivers very well! Not dry, lots of flavor, the sauce is a real presence and reheats very well in the microwave. HOW do they keep the noodles saucy and flavorful with simultaneously crispy tofu?? I mean I microwaved it! Color me very impressed and extremely satisfied in the tummers. My husband has had the drunken noodles and the khao soi. Both hot spice level and both delicious! The khao soi is like a curry with noodles, which is a great compromise if you can't decide between a noodle dish and a curry! I do not recommend spilling the steamy sauce on your foot though like he did. I also have to comment on their spice scale perfection! When they say "medium" it actually is medium. Hot is actually hot. Most Thai food places say medium but they actually mean no spice at all. This place gives you a very honest spice scale. I've spent most of my life growing up in Minnesota where ketchup is considered somewhat spicy, so if I can handle it you probably can... but it's definitely noticeable! This is the only Thai food I've had that gives you a balanced and flavorful amount of heat with their "medium" level spice. Oh, and their Crab Rangoons are great! Can't beat 10 for $4! read more

I've been here more times than I can count and ordered lots of their dishes. I work at CU and we often go to Folsom Thai for lunch or dinner, and every experience has been excellent. The food is always delicious and filling, the staff is really friendly, and the prices are good. Their pad thai is one of the best in the area, if not the best, IMO. Their other noodle dishes, as well as rice dishes, curries, and soups are all top notch. They are also totally accommodating to any dietary constraints. Can't go wrong. Plus, nice local business that's been around for a while. read more

One of my favorite Friday lunch takeout spots. I love Thai food and wholeheartedly endorse this place. The noodle and rice entres are my favorites, you can't really go wrong with any of them. To me the medium spice level is about as hot as I'd go, any higher and you may regret it (unless you're a sadist). read more

Food used to be better. Was kinda bland and greasy. I won't be returning anytime soon.

Great Thai place in Boulder! I've enjoyed every dish I've had there and could eat there all the time.

After getting a hankering for papaya salad and veg forward Thai food, I read all the great reviews for Folsom Thai and decided to go for it. The place itself was fairly empty and had chill vibes, so that was good for a relaxing lunch. It's an order at the counter and seat yourself type of restaurant where the only service provided is when they bring out the food (customers also get their own water, etc. from a counter). Portions are on the small side, and prices are slightly more than reasonable. We spent $45 on lunch for 2 for two small papaya salads and two entrees (one with chicken and one with veggies only). I am giving only 2 stars because the food was just not flavorful. Spice level was on point, but the food was pretty bland. Since Folsom has the highest rating for Thai restaurants in Boulder I have to wonder, is there any really tasty Thai food in Boulder? read more

Very nice Thai food, and close to CU campus. Sometimes online order shows an estimate of 1 hour for wait, but it usually takes much shorter.

The food is amazing and the family that runs this is super welcoming. Cannot get more authentic Thai food than this in Boulder. It's one of the best places for Thai food. They have a lot of vegan and vegetarian options. All their curry paste is vegan. And they can make most of the food vegan/vegetarian. read more

The food here is delicious! The chicken curry I ordered was the best I have had in Boulder and definitely enough for two meals. Everything tastes very fresh. When you enter you order at the counter and then take a seat. They bring the food to you when it is ready. It's self-serve for water and utensils. There is an emphasis on composting. Most of the menu is gluten-free with only a few items that are not. Great prices too. The staff was very friendly and warm. read more
