Always good food but the service was terrible. Had to flag down the servers a few times to have them come around to our table with the food and then had to request that certain cuts be brought to the table because they absolutely refused to come to our table until it was mentioned.

Fogo de Chão offers a truly memorable, all-you-can-eat Brazilian churrascaria experience. The main event is the parade of perfectly cooked, prime cuts of meat--like picanha and filet mignon--carved directly at your table by the gaucho chefs. The famous green/red card system makes the continuous service smooth and fun. The expansive "Market Table" is equally impressive, featuring a massive, fresh selection of salads, smoked salmon, imported cheeses, and traditional Brazilian sides like feijoada. While it is certainly an indulgent and premium-priced meal, the sheer quality, variety, and unique dining atmosphere make it an excellent choice for celebrations or anyone with a serious appetite. I got a complimentary cake for my birthday that was very nice. Make sure to try their refreshing Brazilian limonada, so yummy.

It's my first time and OMg it's unbelievable sooo delicious so tasty the service top notch I'll review more Ok now that the holidays have slowed down I can finally give my full review. We were greeted by the lovely host and then we were taken to our table as reserved. Any table there is worth it, cozy in any spot. We had many servers waiters bc there they don't assign one to a table all servers are there to help any table. We had Eber who helped and he was fantastic and helped us with drinks. Then we had Carlos help us he was a delight and told me I can get a free desert bc it was my birthday which we didn't know so that was a big plus, and omg that crème brûlée cheesecake was out of this world phenomenal it was magic in my soul. Top notch best ever ever ever!! The salad bar was another spectacular view and they had everything I wanted in a salad I felt like I e died and gone to salad heaven. Lastly we had Marco who I feel was the manager bc he was so admirable with us and his proper demeanor was very nice and calm and inviting. We loved all the service. We felt like royalty there.

You really need to come hungry, starving, even. And we were, but their cheese bread puff appetizer is also amazing... so don't eat too many with your cocktails!!! There is an enormous salad bar, with so many healthy options that if you've ordered the whole sampling package, like we did, you might fill up on it and not get to enjoy all the amazing meats that are hand carved at your table - all meal long! So caution, pace yourself. We had a large group as we were there for Hawai'i on the Hill with the Chamber of Commerce. We were given a cute card (similar to a beverage coaster) and instructed to flip it to Yes or No as desired. It basically signals the staff to offer you the freshly carved meat selections or not, and you can pause or gorge as you see fit! There's so many offerings, I can't itemize all of them here - but think chicken, pork, beef, lamb, and more, in different cuts, and cooked to perfection in many different presentations! You'll eat all meal long, and even after salads, soups, meats and drinks, they literally bring more side dishes to your table, such as their grilled plantains and mashed potatoes. Despite being so full that you can't breathe, you can still fit in a delightful dessert. We all did;)! Enjoy!!!

Love Fogo de Chão...downtown or in Schaumburg specifically. I went for my boyfriend's birthday, and we had a great experience. One of the managers, Will, was super friendly, checked on us a few times, and made us laugh. Our server was nice...he forgot the mashed potatoes, but they made up for it at the end. Compared to the Orland location (which had a weird smell when I walked in and had my stomach messed up later that night), this one smelled like good food, as it should. I also preferred the downtown menu...the indulgent option came with mashed potatoes, seafood, and the usual meats. The lamb chops, bottom round, filet mignon, and picanha were all flavorful and delicious. The crab cake was good, but I liked Orland's version a bit more. The lobster tail was rather small and it didn't taste the best in my opinion. For dessert my bf got two (one came with the meal & one free for his bday) we had chocolate molton cake (which was decent) and a papaya creme (I wouldn't recommend!) The space was large and had nice decor, and I appreciated being seated along the wall instead of in the middle of the dining area. Overall, I'd definitely return...great food, great service, and I left completely full.

I came into this location for the $1 Caipirinhas deal during the last week of July. The drinks did have a 2/pp limit, which waa fine b/c that's plenty. I found out that they have them same special on Tuesdays, all day. The only ask is that you're a reward member. You dont earn points but you earn perks for things on visits. Now outside of that I also came for Happy hour which is all day everyday. I've been to fogo several times for their Brazilian experience, including this location and I am not a huge fan of their churrasco experience. The food seems to come out slow, bland & not hot. However I do enjoy the Happy hour menu, which includes $6 bites & $10 cocktails. Outside of the HH menu they have $16 lamb chops & they are pretty good!!! I haven't sat down for the churrasco in about 2yrs & hope that they improved since then. I was shocked that the bar area was empty at 5p on a Friday night. I literally had the place all to myself!!

Especially not a good dinner option despite being excited for it for our Valentine's Day dinner. Food- really liked Caesar salad and Mac n cheese. However, this is a steak house. We ordered ribeye in medium and NY strip in medium rare. However, ribeye was medium rare and ny strip was cooked medium well. I considered telling our waiter but he never appeared at our table to ask about how our food was. He showed up half an hour later to ask if we wanted dessert. I didn't eat my ny strip because it was so dry and my husband had a few bites. Service- as mentioned above, the server barely showed up. Also our food arrived later than everyone next to us. The couple next to us got sat down after we put in our entree order and get they received their entree before we did. No apologies or context given on the delay. Also, I know they offer half orders for certain dishes like salad for takeouts and deliveries and saw older TikTok videos that mentioned getting half portions too. We asked if they do half portions so we can try more items in the menu, we simply got a "NO" without any kindness or explanation given. It was said as if we were asking them something stupid. Ambiance- I think the bar area is nice looking, but we were sat in the basement. It was crammed, the tables were small, and because it was a small room, you can really hear other tables conversations. For casual restaurants I don't mind that type of ambiance but if we are dropping more than $300 for 2 of us, I am going to compare it to comparable places in that price range: Bavettes, Gibsons, maple and ash, swift and sons, Alston, etc. this is significantly lacking compared to all of those "nice steakhouses". Theres not even a coat check. Also our leftover was packed in a cheap black plastic bag. Once again, not matching with the price point. We are locals and were very excited to try this place not far from us, but sadly, it was a truly disappointing experience and if anyone asked me if I'd recommend this place, I would say look elsewhere.

Perilla is a tastefully decorated restaurant, both loungey and rich, but still makes you feel like the joint is all for you. You know, 5 star service is such a lost art, it makes you forget how much you miss it when all of a sudden it happens to be right in front of you. Ricardo, our bartender, what a gem. Forget about the perfectly made drinks that were served to us. Ricardo made us feel right at home with his kind disposition and friendly demeanor. But it doesn't just stop at Ricardo. Everyone was absolutely fantastic. We could have been served 7-11 sushi at this point and I still would have left 5 stars. Food time. The kimchi pork dumplings were an absolute flavor bomb and that parmesan broth gave the dumplings a little extra kick that took it to the next level. Plus, I love when the dumpling wrapper has a little chew to it and isn't this soft mush that dissolves in your mouth. The beef fat frites were a nice treat as well. They were not extra or over the top in anyway. But you can tell when something is done well and correctly, just like these fries were. The Premium Steakhouse Set, in my opinion, is all two people need to enjoy this very special experience. All the accompanying condiments were exceptional on their own and could have functioned as their own course. The Japchae glass noodles were a stunner. The real sleeper was the chopped lettuce greens tossed in their chili vinaigrette. Could have eaten 20 bowls of those lettuce greens. Sadly, I forgot the name of our server who cooked and cut our meat for us. She really added to the experience. She expertly prepared our food while maintaining a fun and pleasant conversation with us. The meat itself, my goodness, tender, smoky, quality-forward, and perfect served with the condiments. The ambiance of the restaurant is nice, the lighting is low and the wait staff are in full suits. The meat is cooked table side by the staff and they check what temperature, rarity, and coat the grill with beef tallow. I would recommend getting the French fries, though a bit pricy, they were my highlight of the night. We had a reservation for 8:45, and weren't seated until 9:10, which isn't a large issue if the rest of service had been better. We ended up going for the premium set and the wording in the menu is deceptive. It says that the tasting set comes with 6 ounces in the top, it is not 6 ounces of each cut, it is 6 ounces of meat in total. In comparison, getting things à la carte would be more worth your time, except everything is an additional charge, if you want ban chan it's 5 side dishes for $5. Their white kimchi is just a salted pickle without gochujang, and was nice but lackluster. The service we received here was extremely disappointing and our table was often forgotten about when we could see our waiter micromanaging other staff in his section, but forgetting to come back and manage the grill on some of our cuts. On multiple occasions our waiter forgot about our meat and we had to try making eye contact multiple times and ended up just flipping the meat on our own. At the end of the unmarinated meat no one had helped us in a while and we still had our marinated meat left. The server asked if they could grab us the check and we had to remind him about the marinated part of the set. The meat was of good quality, but my other gripe is with the japchae, it was too black pepper heavy and I couldn't taste anything but the pepper. Their craft cocktails were interesting and we got the passion of the rice, which was very tasty and used gochujang in an innovative way, if you dint like tasting alcohol in mixed drinks this is the way to go. This is a nice place to celebrate or enjoy some nicer cuts of meat, but the service for the price point paid was just really disappointing.

I first went when it was still a huge, buzzy Chicago spot, and one of my most memorable dinners came after my high school graduation in 2003. I even got a speeding ticket on Lake Shore Drive with my grandmother in the back seat on the way to dinner, which still makes me laugh. Chicago was an especially fun place for Joe's to arrive. Open outcry trading was still a force, and the wealth creation around it was wild: people who had dropped out of high school could become millionaires in their twenties, while math PhDs from the University of Chicago could make fortunes in the same ecosystem. It was a golden era for hustle culture, when commerce idolized Tony Montana in a way that today is more likely to idolize Jamie Dimon or David Solomon. Death Row and Bad Boy ruled the airwaves, while Michael, Shaq, Kobe, and Allen Iverson defined the NBA. Basketball was so dominant in Chicago culture during my coming of age that I still map other things, including restaurants, to NBA teams. Joe's felt like the Miami Heat coming to Chicago in much the same way Smith & Wollensky represented the New York Knicks: each brought a recognizable piece of its hometown culture into another major city. Joe's brought real South Florida sizzle to Chicago, and it landed at exactly the right moment. Going there felt like an occasion. Florida took longer for me to understand in full. My family has roots in the state going back decades, farther north along the Atlantic coast, and I didn't visit Miami until March 2007, when my sister started graduate school in Coral Gables. That trip began my love affair with Miami and helped me understand why the original Joe's was such an institution. A close family friend's father spent time around Miami in the 1960s and 1970s. He knew local fishermen who caught stone crabs, which gave me an appreciation for the older South Florida culture around the food, separate from Joe's own history. Another Joe's memory captures an entirely different moment. Looking through my OpenTable history, my July 31, 2008 reservation at Joe's in Chicago is the earliest reservation I can find at a restaurant that is still open today. I was 23, working at UBS, preparing to move to New York while the firm was already on fire from its mortgage losses, and Lehman would file for bankruptcy just weeks later. I was broke but wildly aspirational, dreaming about dinners at Balthazar, begging my way past the doors at Cain and Tenjune, hoping to drink for free, and trying to meet women comically far out of my league. Through all of those memories, the restaurant itself has been remarkably consistent. The stone crab claws are incredible, the seafood is excellent, and Joe's holds its own among Chicago's serious steakhouses. The room has traditionally felt a little more formal than Miami, with bow ties, polished service, and a darker old-school steakhouse rhythm, while still being genuinely welcoming. Finish with the key lime pie. Years later, my wife and I held our wedding reception at RPM Seafood, another Lettuce restaurant, then ate at the original Joe's during our honeymoon in Miami during COVID days later, which felt like a fitting circle back. In sheer range of venues, repeatability of quality and atmosphere, and consistency of hits, Lettuce is the gold standard in Chicago, with some of that same reach in Vegas and DC. I've been extraordinarily privileged in my exposure to hospitality, and I still repeatedly admire Rich Melman's model, taste, and execution, now carried forward by the next generation of the family. Joe's is a prime example: world-class, durable, unmistakably Chicago, and absolutely somewhere I want to return next time I'm in town with some dough to spend. While Joe's may not be French, this place still earns my highest marks: très bien!

Had dinner at Joe's last week...service is still excellent and the restaurant is still great…read moreoverall, but the food has definitely declined in quality unfortunately. The baked potatoes and other sides were still delicious but the steaks came out dry and overcooked. The quality was very much lacking. Our waiter was kind enough to remake both steaks, which was very much appreciated and the second round was better but still not as good as we remembered. We'll likely return ... hopefully this was just a one time problem?
