Things that can improve is the waitress not disappearing and not coming back to finish serving us. Something that can change is the food not being held back from us,( I.e we didn't get a variety until 9:30pm when I had to find someone to complain) I had to find someone to bring us our drinks ( I.e he said our drinks weren't in the system ) I called to verify they had space available and they made me make a reservation but everyone was just walking in. The dress code says casual comfortable but ppl where there in shorts flip flops and baseball hats....for $512 this isn't what was expected and for this price I would've expected nothing but the best! But instead we were lied too and this brand is misleading! Besides it looking nice both inside and out there is nothing special about this place ( fyi it was my birthday and we told the waitress, it was on my reservation.... I did everything for them to be aware accept wear a birthday hat with balloons!! Then to top it off when my guest told the water he bright out a piece of lava cake with melted ice cream) happy birthday wasn't written on it or nothing this place is trash! FOLKS ATTENTION ATTENTION as you can see I got a response from the owner....... While this seemed great to get some form of resolution to this horrible situation, I did exactly what was told to me and here it is 2 weeks later and still no response!!!!!! Folks.... Cherish your money, in 2024 the dollar is harder to get, and faster to leave. So if you want quality, hospitality and appreciation for you going to an establishment DONT GO TO THIS PLACE! And I've attached my bill so you see plus tip @20% I paid $512.00!!!! So folks please please please disregard this place.... Great food, bad service. Some of the worst service I've had in ages, in fact. Reserved a table of 6 for my 40th birthday with my family at the end of January. I'm writing this review now because the experience was so weak that every single time we've had "decent" service since we think "wow, this was better was Fogo de Chao." I've been to the Fogo in Beverly Hills...welcome to the opposite experience. Where to start - There's a guy walking around handing out shrimp cocktails and it confused my brother-in-law who hadn't been fully briefed on the restaurant's concept yet, so he thought it was included. The shrimp cocktail made it onto our table before we were told it was extra. He took it back. When our server finally did appear, he was very pushy about ordering cocktails. I ordered one, and then he tried pushing one onto my mother, who is a recovering alcoholic. There's a way to gracefully ask someone if they want a drink...his was not the way. It took 20-25 minutes and asking two different people three times for my cocktail before it arrived. When the server finally brought it, he said "sorry, the bartenders weren't doing their job." I didn't bother ordering a second drink from the bar. Did I mention we were actually seated fairly close to the bar?! The food itself is really good. The problem is that, even with the green side of the card exposed, we were ignored for long stretches at a time, and we got hungry. They only brought chicken by once, and we had to keep asking for it, only to be ignored, only to ask for it again...must have waited 30-40 minutes for the chicken. My mom wait 40 minutes at least for her fish dish. Our server walked past her multiple times while she sat there with her hands neatly folded while the rest of us stuffed our faces and the server said nothing / could not be flagged down. They put my birthday candle and happy birthday message in the wrong dessert, which shouldn't have been easy to screw up because I think only two of us ordered cake The above isn't everything. 01/03/2024 First restaurant of 2024. We've been to a couple of Fogo de Chão restaurants and they've all been pretty good. This location, I'm afraid is still having growing pains, but I'm guessing they will be short lived. The service was very friendly but slow. We had been wanting to try the Wagyu steak after having had it at a Wagyu and Wine evening in Paramus. We were blown away with the Wagyu there and needed a little more. After waiting about 20 minutes, it finally came out presented on a large block/slab of Himalayan salt which was CRAZY/sizzling hot! The steak (ribeye) was sliced up on the salt slab... which was fine, but we quickly realized we didn't have plates so we started cutting and eating the steak on the salt block. That's no big deal, except that the meat continues to cook on that sizzling block of salt and we like our meat medium rate... or even a little less so. (HINT! - order your steak rare and let it cook on the salt slab as little or as much as you'd like. Believe me, even served rare, the salt slab will get your steak well done if you want it that way.) One other little/minor annoyance was the notorious cheese puffs they serve felt like they'd been hanging around in the back for a while. Other Fogo's we'd been to these amazing cheese puffs were warm and wonderful. This is one of the premier rodizios in the states (world??) and while I think a little expensive, you do get a lot especially with the huge salad/cheese/meat bar that is at all the Fogo's. On November 2, 2024 we had reservations and we were seated at Fogo de Chao - Wayne, NJ. Stay AWAY as the Service is beyond AWFUL. We were a party of 4 and it was our first time dining at this restaurant. Our server came to take out drink orders and to explain the menu and our options. When she left the table we were very confused at her explanation of the menu but tried to figure it out on our own. My husband got the Churrasco $71 that included all the rodizio meats. The others got the top Sirloin Entrees. after 15-20 minutes we received our drinks and our water. The remainder of our evening was downhill. The variety of signature meats...no where to be found. My husband received 3 or 4 different types of meats (out of a variety of 14 meats) and they were the cheaper cuts of meat. My husband never saw the Filet Mignion, the Ribeye, Porkbelly which are the higher priced meats, So why are we paying $71. I asked 6 different people to send these meats over and after 2 hrs the Filet Mignon shows up ONCE. Really not worth the money. The server who first gave us the water and our drinks NEVER came back the remainder of the night to fill up our water or see if we wanted another drink even though the meat was salty. So today my husband and myself wanted some Brazilian food today and the place that we wanted to go to in Pennsylvania was closed . So we googled Brazilian food near us and this red popped up ... OMG is all that I can say . The food is phenomenal here . No seriously it's like the meat was imported. We arrived at 9:30PM and they closed at 10:00PM The service was amazing our server Arely's was super nice and never rushed us not once . The manager Harold was also amazing! He checked on us several times and asked if we needed anything else often . He actually made us extra cheese because I was in love with the cheese. I believe the kitchen manager came out and ask us was we ok and also recommend crème brûlée we should've gotten two lol ... Thanks again everyone. We will see y'all again soon read more

Would not recommend. The food was ok but the service was just terrible. I reserved a table for 14 about 2 weeks in advance. I was expecting to have a call or a text message asking to confirm the reservation the day before but no.. I had to call in again to make sure the reservation was still valid. When the birthday boy and I walked in, we were not greeted by ANYONE for a good 10 minutes. After having stood there with waiters passing by looking at us and not helping, we helped ourselves to the table. What a great way to start. (Already had other friends at the table for the surprise) We sat and ordered drinks in which did not arrive until about 30 minutes in. The "16 meats" that they state they rotate were not even reaching our table. One person came to serve half the table and left... there was a lot of meat left on his serve but yet he just walked away to serve another table.. the other half of the table didn't get any meat for a good 15 minutes (after we had to flag someone down to get some rotation on your table). NONE of the "unlimited side dishes" were ever served on our table even after asking multiple times. The salad bar was half empty and never refilled. After we were done with our food, we asked for the cake (that was hidden away in their fridge) for the birthday boy's celebration. It took them another 45 minutes after asking quietly, for them to bring it out. After having asking for the bill, we noticed they still charged the FULL amount even though we never received the "sides" that they were supposed to serve. They also charged FULL ADULT PRICE for a child we had at the table. When asking for a discount for the lack of sides the waiter was apologetic and did provide a tiny discount saying it was his fault since he was running around (which I believe they could have done more)... not even half the restaurant was filled with customers.. not sure how "busy" he thought it was. After having received the revised check, we then noticed that the child was also charged for the adult price, so yes again we asked for another revision. This is when he started to blame me saying it was MY responsibility to make sure they know he is a child, and took the check back ANNOYED. Very rude at this point. I am not sure where to begin. We were here on a Saturday night celebrating a special occasion which falls into the 'group dining experience' as mentioned on the website and also suggest the restaurant could accommodate. We definitely did NOT experience "award winning cuisine and service". The service was extremely slow and the little bit of food we had seemed decent but rationed. Several people at our table asked for Chilean sea bass and at some point, maybe an hour later, one plate showed up to accommodate 8+ people. We also waited 15-20 minutes for silverware once the experience started. Many were seated with food from the market bar with no silverware; despite asking several times. Throughout the meal, servers failed to remove used plates-- and went as far as placing cake plates on top of used plates rather than clearing the table. Absolutely unbelievably; see attached photos! Our drink orders were severely delayed. We ordered 2 cosmos at one point -- 40 minutes later, only 1 cosmo shows up. Another person at the table asked for chicken in which the waiter said sure and specifically asked what type of chicken. We never received the requested chicken. At 10:45pm, a random serving of lamb chops came to the table-- along with an empty rack that had a very DRY looking chicken breast. The coordination of the food and availability of the salad bar options was just off -- also seems the manager while well intended is struggling to create an atmosphere that is reflective of the desired experience. Our dining experience was lackluster to say the least-- and extremely disappointing for the birthday girl. It's important to note that a similarly situated large party seated next to us seemed to have a vastly different experience. Our main waiter Geo was not attentive to anything. Our water glasses were maybe filled once, despite being empty for hours. Brandon who was also helping us was more attentive and empathetic to our party, but also subpar. In summary, the staff clearly needs more training on the basics of hospitality and service, in the first instance. This was my first and last time visiting this restaurant. read more

I am going to be forgiving since the food was good and our server Andre was very professional and attentive to our needs when we tried out this restaurant. Every new restaurant has kinks to work out and there is no exception here. The inside of the restaurant is absolutely beautiful and also has a nice bar in the front when you enter. We experienced a lot of what others are saying regarding the churrasco. We kept being offered the same meats which were chicken or beef wrapped in bacon, chicken thighs, and sausage. The better cuts were barely offered and the servers need some better instructions on how to properly serve some of the meats. On a few instances, I was literally served a tiny scrap of meat (filet mignon, sirloin or lamb) and had to ask for more on the few occasions that the choice cuts were offered. The drink cart that comes around is just overkill and annoying to see cluttering the dining room. The caipirinhas were only $10 but had next to no alcohol in them. I'd rather pay $16.00 for one that is made properly and does not just taste like limeade. I will give it another go after the holidays and if I experience the same issues, I'll take some photos to share so that they can improve upon making this a better experience. Why would anyone this close to Newark go to a chain which is highly overpriced and not staffed by real Portugese grill pros? The salad bar while not authentic is very good. The service was great and attentive. The decor is beautiful! The salad bar has lots of amazing choices and tasty. When we arrived, there were two hostesses talking on walkie talkies to the manager. The hostesses didn't seem to know when or where to sit us. The moment we check in, we were asked to wait to be seated. 10 minutes goes by and we are still waiting. As we are waiting, about 20 people are waiting as well at the front door and most of us had reservations and lots of the tables by the front entrance were empty. The food needs more flavor. There were lots of choices but mostly of the meat was too rare. I asked for a medium cooked piece and I got a bloody piece. They seat us in a very crowded area although there were two other areas that were more on the quiet side. I asked the hostess if we could seat in the quiet area and she took me back to the manager and said that he wanted us to seat in the crowded areas. The restaurant has too many tables making it challenging to walk to the salad bar or bathroom plus add the staff bringing the meat at the table. They should take some table away to make it lore accessible. If you make a reservation ask to be seated in the less crowded area. They play club music and is so loud that you think you are in a club. I would have loved a more latin music. Overall our experience was underwhelming. I was disappointed. This place needs some improvement. read more

Not worth it. We've been to a few of these in different cities. They are pricey, but ok. This one is new, but not new enough for the service to be like this. If it weren't for the hostess, who served our table more than our servers, we would have likely left. Long periods without seeing them. Ask for things, half hour passes, nothing we asked for would come. Would have to ask someone else and finally it was the hostess who would make things happen. We waited 25 minutes for key lime pie. Asked for it to go after waiting so long, and got cheesecake. Made the mistake of asking for the actual pie and waited another 20 minutes or so.... The food is good. If you've never had Brazilian rodizio before, you might like it, but compared to places in Newark, it isn't great and costs a lot more. The drinks are great (despite having to wait so long), the app bar is great, the meat, good. I really wanted to love it because it meant no longer having to drive all the way to Newark for rodizio. Having been to other locations and liking them, I was pretty disappointed, especially when all is considered and you see the bill. I would like to start off by saying I love going to Brazilian steakhouses so my expectation was high just based off of the experiences I've had at other restaurants. I've been wanting to go to Fogo de Chão since I found out they opened. My birthday seemed like the perfect time to go. My reservations were for 2:30 PM this past Sunday. My party arrived at 2:30 and our table was not ready. We had to wait for them to set our tables up for my party of 11. My niece ordered chicken breast and never got her entrée. It was brought to the staff's attention multiple times. It was to the point where we told them don't even bring it out at all. My aunt and grandmother did not get their entrée for the first two hours that we were at the restaurant; mind you we were there for a total of three hours. Thankfully, our meals included a salad bar so my niece, my aunt, and my grandmother didn't starve while waiting on these people to give them their food. Almost half of my party ordered The Churrasco Experience. For those reading my review and have never been to a Brazilian steakhouse before the experience at any of these types of restaurants includes them coming around with a large amount of different types and cuts of meat. At Fogo de Chão, they were supposed to be 14 different types of meats coming to my table. Out of 14 different types of meat the staff only came to my table with five types of meat. The crazy thing is that we saw wait staff go to other tables with different types of meat than what they came with two our table. Not only that, the staff kept skipping multiple guests at my table. It was to the point where I was pointing out to the people who the staff should also be going to ensuring that they also get slices of meat. Considering the price point of this establishment, you would think that the customer service and the dining experience would be far greater than what we got to experience Sunday afternoon. To say we were all disappointed is quite the understatement. I wish I looked up the reviews of this place before I went. I DO NOT recommend going to Fogo de Chão in Wayne, NJ ever. read more

ATTENTION TO ALL - DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT - THEY WILL MESS YOUR ORDER UP AND NOT TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY Store - Wayne NJ Manager - Jose Now that I have your attention - I rarely review things so this should tell you a little bit about my terrible experience. First off - this is the worst Fogo I have ever been to. The manager (Jose) should be fired immediately for showing a lack of respect to customers. Background I placed a delivery order for the following items on 1-27. When the order came to my house, the chicken was missing, and they only gave me 3 very small slices of steak (for 1 lb of food). I drove to the store myself to resolve this issue personally (even after paying for delivery). I calmly requested to speak with the manager. I was told this individual was Jose. I explained my situation, and he told me that it was the deliverer's fault and not the restaurant's fault and that the chicken was still sitting there on the counter. I asked how this is my fault and he did not give me any response. No apologies and no emotion except to make me feel like it was my fault that this happened. I asked how he was going to make this right and he was extremely rude with me. In his defense, he did go back to replace my order with a fresh chicken and steak but did not show any signs of apology. When I confronted him about giving me some sort of goodwill or gesture for my ruining my dinner with my family, he immediately declined like I was an imbecile and gave me the "How dare you to ask me...look!" I would also like to note for the record that this has happened to me a second time in two consecutive orders. I tried to be very calm about things but 2 out of 2 botched orders is clearly a problem with the delivery system and no apology shows a complete lack of accountability. There is also a lack of quality control on the food sent out. The portions the first time were completely different than this time. I understand that accidents happen, but this is completely unacceptable to speak so rudely to your customers especially for a "prestigious" organization such as Fogo. I am a food connoisseur and I have been to some of the best restaurants in the world including Fogo's such as the one in São Paulo. This restaurant is by far the worst I have been to and the manager should be ashamed of himself, especially for tarnishing such a reputable name. Suffice to say that I will never step foot in a Fogo ever again and I will let all my friends know of about how terrible the Wayne, New Jersey location is. read more

TL;DR just so you don't have to read the whole thing.... It's a glorified Golden Corral buffet. Overcrowded, overbooked, some meats are good, some not so good. Servers and mgmt are trying but service is not on par with the cost. I don't like downing a business. Especially on a busy night like Valentine's Day but this place has systemic issues and I may have had the WORST server ever in my lifetime. Certainly bottom 5 at least. I'll just review it all here.... Checked in at the host desk. Obviously everyone got the memo that tonight was the night and showed up to have a v day dinner. The hosts were friendly and we were seated within 15 minutes. The place is nice, upscale decor etc. obviously, they overbooked it. Line up was out the door and even longer when I was leaving. I felt like telling people not to go in. Can't blame the restaurant too much for wanting to make money but c'mon! Now the servers and staff are bogged down so much that you're barely getting meat, the gauchos look tired and pissed off and the cooks are rushing the meat out. - it's so crowded in there that you can tell the staff is low key irritated trying to navigate the people walking around, the tables and carry the meat plus clean up. - my experience was that most of the meats were rushed so the cook was off, almost raw on some, and vastly under seasoned. I didn't even bother asking for salt and pepper.... Who was going to be able to bring it? I say that because it took half the meal to get my child's pineapple juice. At a certain point, I'd just had enough. - my server seemed like an ok guy but sheesh! How about a greeting? Explain the menu. I saw him do that to other tables... i suspect he was more attentive to tables that bought the bottled water. I wasn't given that option. At one point, I literally had to yell over to him that I was ready to give him the receipt and card because he was clearly not coming in our direction after repeated signaling that he had acknowledged. I just wanted to go home. - drink order was fixed by the manager each time. The strawberry hibiscus cocktail tasted like it was mixed in a pitcher. The garnishes and liquor were non existent in the first round - the server needs some training on monitoring tables. I didn't take it as he had an attitude or anything. He was just so deep in the weeds. It was clear management knew this as the manager was in the mix trying to keep the ship afloat grabbing plates, expediting drinks etc. At one point, another waiter was pitching in. I saw 2 workers get in a little back and forth about clearing tables and picking up bills. Not sure how that ended - server professionalism was low at some points I witnessed. It's hard enough to get to the buffet but are you really stopping to chat and hug in the main thoroughfare? It's so busy in there, it just becomes every man for himself I guess - on more than one occasion, some meats looked raw when the gaucho suggested it was rare. I took a sample to see if I was right.... Cold center on the Picanha - I saw lamb chops once.... Never saw them again - chicken was good, well seasoned. I had both varieties. I'm assuming there were 2 kinds because they tasted different. Some of the pieces of chicken were overcooked. The first piece I tried may have been the best piece of chicken I ever ate. Juicy, tender, seasoned perfectly and cooked perfectly. - my kid liked the sausage and chicken That was the most chaotic and rushed experience I've ever had and I had the pleasure of paying $259 for it. 2 adults and 1 child. Children eat free. Yes. I tipped 20%. I didn't want to penalize the other staff that tried to help. You can tell they're trying to make it work but it's straight chaos in there. I feel like I broke an important rule. You don't go to a restaurant that's recently opened because they need to get the bugs out of the system. I figured I had waited long enough that the bugs were worked out..... maybe it gets better. To those with 5 star reviews, this was just my experience. This was our second time visiting the Wayne location and it was even better! We started at the bar. Tommy was at the bar and served us some killer Gold Rush cocktails. We sat for dinner and Mia our server and Rafael, made sure our plates were full and we knew exactly what to order. Food was delicious. Everything was burning hot and full of flavor. Yaheny stopped by and checked on us to ensure we had everything we ordered. The staff overall was so attentive, kind and personable. Best dining experience we have had in a long time. I have been a big fan of Fogo de Chao for years. I have been to the locations in NYC, Miami Beach and Dallas many times and it has always been a great experience. So I was thrilled when I heard about the new location at Willbrook Mall and we went there today for Christmas Eve. I was disappointed with the salad bar, it was much smaller than at the other locations. I was also disappointed with the cuts of meat. They only had three or four that they kept bringing back all the time. The service was also pretty bad. There were times when we didn't get any meat for at least 10-15 minutes. Also, we didn't seem to have any particular waiter assigned to us, instead, various people would stop by and ask what we needed. But if that had been the sum of my experience tonight, I wouldn't be writing this. It's a new restaurant and they are still training their staff. What I really find unforgivable is that they served me a cut of meat that was straight up cold! I bit into it and immediately felt the cold meat at the center of the cut. I don't mean room temperature. I mean cold as if straight from the fridge. So I ate a huge bite of uncooked meat! I told one of the waiters, who said he would tell the manager. Nothing happened. So I told another two waiters. I told them to touch the meat with their fingers so they could feel that it was cold/frozen meat. By the time the manager came by 15 or 20 minutes later the meat wasn't as cold, and she pretended that the problem was that I asked for medium rare. I know medium rare. This was not medium rare, it was completely uncocked in the center and cold to the touch. Anyway, they didn't even give me a discount or anything like that. The manager just suggested that I get the meat well done next time if I don't like it red (again, pretending that the problem was my choice of meat temperature, not the meat being cold/frozen at the center). As a side note, this location is in a mall in the suburbs, and far inferior to the other locations with regards to the salad bar and choices of meat. The customer service was trouble. And really needs a training course on customer service. We had a reservation for 14 people and were told we didn't make a reservation. But we received a conversation about the reservation. We then asked to speak to the manager who was rude also. read more

I came to Fogo de Chao on my 68th birthday on March 7th . I went because , I've was to received a 25.00 discount for my birthday. I ordered the Wagyu ribbed eye steak and the lobster/shrimp cocktail. Everything was terrible!! The alleged Ribbed eye, I think might have been a London broil . The lobster and shrimp cocktail was tough and probably frozen and then thawed. The steak came to the table on a sizzling stone and the server drowned it in rock salt. The only flavor the steak had was salt! I only ate half of everything and did not want to take any of it home with me. To add insult to injury I did not receive my 25.00 discount!!! I told my server that at this price point 340.00 dollars for one person, they have to do better!!! He said he would pass on my concerns to the store manager and area district manager. Stumbled across this restaurant while shopping at the mall. We arrived and asked for a table for 3, the restaurant was completely empty, I mean there was absolutely no one there and they said the wait would be 1 hour. The waiter said they would have to wait bc there were reservations that would come before us. This would be completely understandable if there was at least one person sitting at a table. I believe it was a case of racism they looked at us and turned us away at completely empty restaurant. I've never experienced something like that and I've been to many 5 star restaurants without a reservation and was seated. It's sad that ppl are still like this especially in NJ. read more

Was an out of the way place that stumbled into. Surprisingly the place was big, nicely kept, clean. They had a big variety /selection. Not overcooked. Was very tasty. Wished it was a bit hotter in temperature. Price was great and service was good. read more

We were excited to try this establishment after all the hype Quite honestly we left disappointed and not caring to ever go back and a few reasons why.... Overrated and Overpriced, heat blowing on our table entire time, Tables crammed and meat servers cannot not get to everyone in a non intrusive or timely manner for the meat loving guests. Chairs too heavy and not easy to move on carpet Servers very nice and kept asking if we wanted a particular type of meat however requests not met. The noise level so loud between music and guests that you couldn't hear servers telling you what kind of meat is being served. Nice decor just very dark to be walking around to go salad bar. Didn't leave hungry but left unsure why it costs two people with tip $225+ for meats that lacked taste and flavors read more
