Going to focus vision has been the most frustrating experience I've ever had at a doctors office. The office is completely disorganized and the staff seemed to always be confused. Its impossible to get a return call and I've had countless issues with persecution and co payment confusion. Save yourself the anxiety and go somewhere else. read more

I have been a patient here for just over a year now, and honestly it's just ok. I had my yearly exam last week and Dr. Tanya spent a whole 5 min with me. Felt like I was super rushed in and out. The staff is always super nice and the Dr is always very polite. I give them 3 stars because as a long time patient of Lenscrafter's then switching (Focus Vision is down the st from my house) I'm actually paying a lot more out of pocket every single time I go. They are billing correctly with my vision insurance, but I really have to look at the paperwork carefully at the end of my visit. Seems like they try to milk every last ounce. Luckily I have experience in insurance and medical billing, so I know what to look for. Might have to switch back to Lenscrafter's. read more

Over and over I've come to this Focus Vision and they have bad customer service the woman at the receptionist and service area are really really rude in fact I have yet to see good results from I wear or anything else regarding Focus Vision I am very very sad to know that there is people working for Focus Vision who are rude and disrespectful!! read more

Customer service is terrible. Each time I called about glasses or contacts theys were magically in "that day". It took longer to fix my daughters glasses than it did to make them originally. Me and my family will be going elsewhere. read more

My problem was actually with the Focus Vision, Yucaipa store, but I guess it's all the same with the Beaumont store too, since both stores have the same owner and provider, Dr.Tanya VanGuilder, who doesn't seem to care about her customers satisfaction, anymore than her other employees do, especially Debbie, who if you ask her a question & she doesn't like or know the answer and you don't accept her goofy, made up answer, she does what a immature person would do, and hangs up on us. On 6/10/2014 we bought some men's eye glass's at a cost of over $500.00 to us, plus what our insurance co. paid toward them too, and our salesman Andreas told us we'd get a $30.00 rebate, and gave us paperwork to fill out and send in, which we did on 6/29/2014 we waited till 7/24/2014 & no $30.00 rebate, so we went in the store and ask Andreas about it, he didn't know or understand anything about it, but agreed to help us get it, as he had originally promised to do, so we filled out the paperwork again & sent it in again and waited 8 weeks till 9/24/ 2014 & still no $30.00 rebate, so we went down to the store again & asked for Andreas, employee Debbie said Andreas was off that day, so she told my wife to fill out paperwork again & sent it in again & it would be another 8 week wait, we said ok, & waited another 8 weeks, still no word from anyone, so today 11/18/2014, I called again and asked for Andreas or Debbie, Debbie answered the phone, I went over it all again with her & what Andreas had originally promised us, she then told me Andreas doesn't work there anymore, so whatever he said to us, doesn't count anymore, so I reminded her, that she had said that very same thing to us on 9/24/,2014, but I guess according to her, that doesn't count anymore neither, needless to say, people who lie to their customers like that, will never get any good referrals, from anyone. and we'll never do business with people who treats us this way for over 5 mos. now. I truly hope this helps others from having these kinds of problems with shops like Focus Vision who's so called word means absolutely nothing. I also told Debbie that I was going to write this review, she said, go ahead, we don't care what you do, That's when she slammed the phone down in my ear. I first went because I hadn't had a eye exam for two years. I was examined and even with my insurance, the glasses would be over $600, and these would be with really cheap frames. I tried to narrow the price down, and was told that the Dr. had recommended the progressive lenses instead of bifocals. I would of preferred the progressive's, but not for the price. I never even paid half this amount for glasses in my life! I ordered the progressive's anyway, and two days later, I changed my mind because of the high cost. To a person who would normally need glasses every year, the cost would of amounted to $50 a month! I was told that "they hadn't started on making my glasses", and that I might not get my money back on my credit card because their policy is to only apply credit at their discretion. I didn't like being told this as- A) They might not be in business the next time I need glasses, - B) I would be forced to return and spend more at the same place, even if I were to be unhappy with something, & C) They hadn't started on making my glasses. After several phone calls back and forth, they needed to get approval from a certain individual, blah blah blah, and getting the usual runaround, they said that they would make the change and credit back my card. This was after finally getting someone's approval, who conveniently, (for them), wasn't there all week. I got the glasses and my vision was blurred. In fact, my old glasses that I had for over two years would work better. I was told that I would have to try them for at least two to three days, and let my eyes adjust. I was also told that if my eye's hadn't adjusted to come back and they'd see what they could do. "YOU BET I'LL COME BACK if they don't work!". So my eyes didn't adjust, I came back in 3 days, and they did another exam, and said that I might have more sensitive eyes than most other people, and they would re-make me some new glasses with a different prescription. I was even told to sign a form for the glasses that "I agreed that I would accept the next pair", as they come! So even if the next pair weren't right, that would mean that I was stuck. I didn't hear anything back for almost two weeks and called them. They said that my glasses hadn't come in yet. I called again, a couple days later and they said that my glasses hadn't come in yet. Then I called another time and they said that they had been broken, while making them. I WOULD HAVE TO START THE WAITING PERIOD ALL OVER! I began the wait all over and still my glasses weren't ready after waiting a substantial amount of time. I explained that it had been over the normal waiting period, and they said that they would be in on Monday. I never received a call on Monday, and called them on Tuesday. On Tuesday, they said that they still hadn't received my glasses and that they would have to check on it, and get back to me, but they were going to close. I called a day or two later and was told that my glasses had gone to the Beaumont office. They said that they would be ready the next day. I eventually got my glasses, but with all the time wasted, and me having to drive up and down the mountain several miles each time for their neglect, I felt like they could, and should credit my card some fair amount back, as I felt getting the prescription wrong, breaking the glasses being remade, glasses sent to the wrong store, etc., that they should allow an adjustment back to my credit card in good faith. All I was offered was a 3 year guarantee against scratches. (What good would that do, if I technically need a new pair of glasses every year?) I was then told that they would have to reach the Dr. and she was out for maternity leave. I haven't heard anything back about crediting my account as an incentive for good faith because of their screw-ups. I wouldn't go back ever again, unless these cheap glasses fall apart under warranty. I wouldn't even rate this business a one, except for the optometrist was very nice, and eventually I did get the glasses that I could see with. The person fitting my glasses, Julian, was nice also. Besides all this, they try to sell you everything off the shelf, extra UV protection with different degrees, each costing more, different degrees of transitions, each costing more and more, progressives, etc. You would be foolish to do business here. They act like it's their first time making glasses when you walk in, and when you call, or come in, they tend to act like they're talking to a 7 year old. read more

This is one of the few businesses I have taken time out to do a review. Dr. VanGuilder took her time and explained everything to me in detail. I highly recommend her and her team, they are very professional. Once I arrived, I was greeted by Jill, a very professional young girl who answered all my questions. I believe some of the other reviews are a joke. I have been many places before including locally. No one has done a more thorough exam than the Doctor, and given expert advice on my prescription of contact lenses. With her help, I have better vision now than ever before. The only complaint is they need to fix the in store music. Their showroom is nicely decorated, since it was once a design center for a local builder. If you are not a customer don't expect to go in and just "pick up a single pair of contacts" or replace your prescription lenses without a prescription. Lenses are covered where you purchased them, so go there and make your peace, or follow the directions on the warranty. I did not purchase a pair of back up glasses, but intend to soon, they have a great selection and wide verity of brands. read more
