Both of my grandparents went here for their glasses, and both of them now own expensive glasses that are not right for them. Neither got a comprehensive exam, and it was as if the doctors didn't even listen to their requests. When I called them, I asked to speak with a manager or the doctor. An office assistant called me back and told me that my grandparents were given a yellow piece of paper that needed to be brought back to the office if they wanted new glasses. Oh yeah, and by the way it's too late now. Well, being that my grandparents are in their late 80's and cannot drive, it's not easy for them to get around. (I just moved back to LA, so it's easier now, but still a good 2-4 hour drive one way, depending on traffic) Long story short, when I asked to speak with someone with the power to actually help us, she said I need to waste my time talking to her manager, then her managers manager and so on. Customer service? F my boyfriend ended up going to Walmart and getting them cheap reading glasses, and THOSE worked better than the glasses they spent close to a thousand on! This was my first visit to the Beaumont office and I am very happy with Focus Vision. The Yucaipa office visit went well as well (last year) ... But since I came to Beaumont most recently I am here to review. The office was very nice, modern and playing good music. I was greeted right away and then sat down to wait. In a timely manner I was called back and they did what they needed to do. Everyone was VERY friendly and helpful, including Dr. Miller. The only thing I can say that would can be improved is... if they added a bit more stock of frames. Last year I bought a pair of Dior glasses($360) and this time I wanted something a bit cheaper. The cheapest frame they had available was around ~150.00, and there weren't many options in that range. Other than that I will be returning and definitely recommending this place! read more

I love this clinic! The environment is gorgeous and very high class, and the staff has always treated me with the utmost care. They always go out of their way to make sure my glasses are right, from the fit, to the right style for my face. Glasses have always arrived in the time frame given at ordering. Dr. Van Guilder is wonderful! I've been going to her for years and have never had a problem! She performs a very thorough exam and is very nice while doing so. It is very apparent that she is an educated and up to date doctor. This my 3rd time coming here first eye exam. The staff are very attentive and are very knowledgeable. The Dr examined my son and I and she was very thorough and very informative. She reccomend for us to use Systane for dry eyes. This solution worked great. I have been using visine and to find out it is not recommended. I did try the solution and gave me relief right away and made us both feel better. I highly recommend using Focus Vision for your optometry needs. Over priced and zero customer service skills I got roped into a $300 bill (with insurance) for non name brand generic glasses that were so cheaply made the arm broke 2 months later on my wedding day so I had to fix them on the fly myself as they were closed on Sundays not the end of the world but really and the "anti scratched anti glare" is crap they scratched almost immediately and when I took them in because they have a warranty I was greeted rudely like how dare I use what they offer then when I get the glasses back they did not fix the arms at all thanks for fixing the scratches but these crap glasses are going to fall apart again in a month the worst part they knew about all fixes I needed and upon pick up said nothing about not fixing the other problems and now my "warranty has expired" needless to say I've ordered from zenni optical and spent a total $21 and the glasses I've received for that price are incomparably better then the $300 ones I purchased here so save yourself the hassle and just avoid this place all of their locations are sadly this way despite all the wasted money and poor customer service all would of been forgiven had they just fixed what my "warranty" claimed it covered I just want to add that I do not want anything from this review I do not need to be contacted with some absurd explanation of events nor do I need anyone to try and "fix" the problem it's too late the money has been wasted and my business will forever be taken elsewhere and I've stopped multiple family members and co workers from going all I want is to share my experience and hopefully 1. Horrible! The same reason we stop going years ago. Management and staff need better training in customer service. Work ethics are none existing. Took the time to explain our situation came to an agreement only to have them state that it was a mistake on their part at the scheduled appt. not prior; yet we are still liable for cost to our time and credit that we had. We are not getting back our credit on over payment plus they won't put it towards the visit we had that could have been avoided per there mistake. They called to inform me that we had to still pay a consultation fee to release my daughters contacts to approve my credit towards her prescription on top of the fact that they still charged me a difference amount on the appt. date. Initially everything was wonderful, until the trial contacts the doctor gave me seemed wrong somehow. I asked the doctor about it and she said they needed time to adjust. After about 20 minutes, things were still very wrong. I asked to see the doctor again and the staff became very rude. I had to argue with them to even see her for another minute. The doctor then proceeded to repeat over and over that she corrected me to 20/20 and would not listen to my concerns. I kept pleading with her that something was really wrong and she told me she could not under or over correct me. I did not want that, I just wanted her to check the contacts because they were really wrong. I could not read a large logo on a box a couple of feet away, I could not read the Starbucks sign across the street. My depth perception was way off, it was like the ground was 2 feet higher than usual. It was horrible and the doctor would not listen, just kept saying it was corrected to 20/20. I don't know if I was given the wrong lens for my right eye by mistake (I can't see well out of my left due to a previous surgery) or what, but it was scary having my vision like that and the eye doctor not caring. Then as I was paying, yes still had to pay for that, I tried to ask a question to the billing woman. She rudely and loudly told me to wait until she was finished with my paperwork. I been basically yelled it. Then when going over paperwork that I couldn't see, the numbers didn't add up and I let her know they undercharged me (why I'm so honest I don't know). She proceeded to, in an extremely rude tone, say, "Well, that was when you tried to ask a question, wasn't it!" I was shocked! She then ripped my credit card from my hand and ran it again. My daughter and I could only look toward each other in disbelief. I signed the paper, the lady took the pen from me before I could even set it down and thrust the papers at me, without the prescription even. She told me the doctor would need to see me again and I mumbled, "Yeah, right." and left. I walked out the door she, in a snarky tone yelled, "You're welcome. " I turned and told her, at this point honestly mad, "Sorry I asked you a question." I got to my car and was unable to drive, my daughter was laughing at me try to walk, because my depth perception was so off and I took those horrible lenses out and could once again see with my old prescription glasses. I have been wearing contact lenses for around 30 years and have never experienced anything like that. Wow! read more

Poor customer service, poor communication skills... When I first called this place to schedule an appointment, the person that picked up was rude and could not get my first name right, (note: my first name is 4 letters). When I came in for my exam, the Dr. Requested for more exams which requires more money out of pocket. The visit was already quite expensive considering I have insurance. I was given a "promise date" per the associate. I called on the day I was promised, and was told it hadn't arrived and it could be the following week. The following week comes by, still no one has called me. I called, waited for atleast 20 mins and the associate tells me it's still not in and she could track it so I asked to speak with a manager. 25 mins later a different associate jumps on and right away says "oh it's here, we got it last week"... at this point I'm already frustrated.. ask when they close since I'm working and just wanted to pick up my glasses and be over with them. The associate tells me 530. tell me why I go, get there at 5:06pm and they are closed!!!! (The front sign does indeed say they are open 10-5pm that day, so why the fuck would you lie to me):.. I look in and see atleast 5 associates still there. I called and no one is answering the phone but they see me at the door. After 5 mins, one associate finally opens the door. Really this is a business, with no customer service skills, poor communication, overpriced, on top of it .. they LIE!! FIRST AND LAST TIME HERE!!! read more

I place an order for contacts I paid in advance, when I called to see where my contacts were they could not give me an answer, every time a called it was the same answer "we are trying to track them down" after a month of waiting I decided to get my money back. Had to talk to a "specific person" for the refund because apparently only one person can handle the paperwork needed for that. Don't waist your time and money with a company like this. read more

I made my appointment at 4:10 pm and registered at 4 pm. I waited there for a long time and saw at least two other persons who either had no appointment or whose appointment was behind me got their test ahead of me. I kept waiting until 4:50 when another girl came in and almost got her test ahead of me. I asked the assistant how could this happen and she finally found it was the stupid receptionist who always put other customers' forms atop mine, so the assistant never saw my information. Did the receptionist apologize? No! When I was having the test, I didn't see the assistant and the doctor sanitize the instruments before and after each use- this really frightened me because we are still in the pandemic and this is a really busy place with so many people touching the machines! I really hope I didn't get contracted with the virus. The doctor is a little annoying when she was trying to persuade me to have a LASIK surgery, which she will get a kick back from the company. Overall it's a very bad experience to have my eye test here. I don't recommend here If you have other options. read more

last year I went for replacement lenses because mine got scratched up when I wiped brick dust off them before washing them. luckily they were still under warranty. it took 2 months to get new lenses! ok things happen so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. So again in the year Oct of 2022 I went to them for my annual check up. when my new glasses came in I told the lady that things were fussy. she said because the glasses were bifocals that was normal and I should give it a while to adjust. still fussy at distance after 2 weeks I went back and the lady decided I needed lenses made out of plastic instead of what I had. she would order them and they will be in asap. after 3 weeks no lenses. the lady forgot to inform the lens place that just the lenses were needed and they were waiting for my frames. then I get a call from the manager saying that some of the numbers didn't look right and I should come in for a recheck because the distance between my eyes looked like a child's distance. I went in and that distance was wrong along with the distance of my bifocal height. they said they would put a rush on them and it should take about 8 days. today is 1/16/2023 and still no lenses. by the way I guess I singed a form that says I agree to no refunds!!! Most of the people I dealt with at all three of their locations were not knowledgeable and were not polite. it took them five tries to get my lenses correct and two frame changes. The last frame they did for me was fine when I tried it on once I got my glasses completed I put the frame on and immediately told one of the girls that worked there they hurt my nose and the back of my ears I said it's fine I'll just try them over the weekend and see what happens. Well they ultimately made my nose bleed and my ears bleed. I mailed them back to their main location in Beaumont. I requested a refund and I was told no. They have the product they have the frames they can resell and they have my money they are thieves plain and simple. I got my insurance company to pay for my co-pays to get a new pair glasses but they didn't cover The coatings those were $100 I contacted them at focus vision and asked them to at least give me my money back for the coatings. They obviously feel they have the right to steal from me. They've ignored me they've been nasty to me and they've stolen my money. read more

This office is horrible! I am a new customer with them and my experience has been awful! I've ordered refills on my contacts now 2 different times and they say 5-10 days. Its never been within this time frame. They are supposed to call you when your prescription comes in. Nope!! I have had to follow up with them BOTH times. Very underwhelming for being Beaumonts "Premier" optometry.. the frames are crazy marked up $75-150 over the manufactures! The service is slow. The left doesnt know its right. Just sitting and waiting for some acknowledgement on a slow monday morning i overheard other customers complaining about the wrong order or a misquoted order. Ive been a customer for over 10 years and the last 3 have been downhill and it looks as though im going to have to take a nice drive to Redlands to get quality frames and quality service.. shame. read more

Don't waste your time or money first they told us we had plenty of coverage on our insurance we have double insurance then we go back to get the glasses and they screwed up and billed somebody else's insurance then they had to fix that so had to reschedule then called to see if the contacts are in they tell me they never ordered them WTF?!?!?! I had the worse experience dealing with these people. so many things come to mind ill just break it up. 1, i first came here in 10' and it was fine, everything went smoothly with the exception of one thing. I took my eye test, and ordered a pair of glasses, lenses and contacts. i had to pay quite a bit out-of-pocket but considering it was my first time having my own insurance i thought it was the norm. After some contemplating, i went back the next day to cancel the contacts because i really didn't need them. Stupidly, they said they couldn't refund my money because 'the order was already placed', even though it wasnt even processed yet! I ended up arguing with every girl in the office and finally they gave me store credit. Plain and simple, they tried to screw me out of 100 bucks. 2. I chose to go back in 11' simply due to lack of options and not willing to chance me having another bad experience elsewhere. I retake the test, and order my sports glasses with lenses for bike riding because thats what i needed. When i go to pick them up after a few weeks, the lady at the desk noticed i had a lot of scratches on the pair i got in 10', and since i had scratch proof lenses it shouldn't be happening so she ordered me a new pair of lenses. I go back after no call 3 MONTHS LATER and they say they've had them for two months and supposedly they called me numerous times. They take my frames, measure them for the new lenses, and take the lenses to the cutting machine so they can fit my frames. Wouldn't you know it, the machine chipped the damn lenses and they had to order a new pair. It is now a year later, and still no call. I went back last month to their new location and they have no record of it. Again, they screwed me out of money. With the new year, I'm due a new pair of glasses, and you bet you behind I'm never coming back here again. i don't recommend anyone coming here. Their office may be nice, they may have free water bottles and they may seem like they value your business, but they don't. Stay away. read more

I had a great experience I was able to get an appointment very quickly and while the office was busy that day I was able to see the Dr. at my appointment time. I met with the girl after my exam and she already had what my insurance covered. I did not see an optometrist, or opthalmologist here, so I cannot vouch for those services. I came in with a prescription, and just needed some glasses that my insurance will cover. I fortunately only need them for occasional use (like night driving) because my vision is adequate for the most part during the day. I told the salesman that, and managed to find frames that fit my big head and were covered by my insurance. I told him that I didn't need anything fancy for the lenses (regular bifocals), and just wanted what my insurance covered. He then quoted me a price. I told him that my insurance would cover the full cost of bifocal lenses, and there shouldn't be any cost to me. He then adjusted my quote down to what I had originally requested, and voila! no cost to me. I was reminded a bit of the car salesman experience. Just be careful to make sure you are not paying for something you don't want or need. On the plus side, I did receive my glasses when they said they would be in, and they are satisfactory for my needs. I did get a call a week later asking if I was happy with my glasses. No problems with the eye exam or the prices of the frames or lenses, but the company they use to make the lenses can't seem to get it right. I had to my new glasses back to get re done. Another major problem is that it appears someone at the office forgot to send them to get re made. Not happy at all with the after the sale customer service. Got a second opinion of the rx of my glasses at another optometrist. The tech was able to see what is currently wrong within a minute. None of the staff at Focus could figure it out or listen to me. I am so grateful to have such an excellent option for an optometrist in the Pass Area. Dr. Vanguilder and her staff are exceptional. Not only are all of these locations impressively state of the art, the offices are clean and beautiful. The ophthalmic equipment options are trendy and top of the line. Her staff is wonderful to deal with. I am not only appreciative, but impressed with how they have interacted with my children. I take my children to her every year prior to the school year, to do exams and be aware of changes. I will happily continue to bring my family to the practitioner. read more
