Great experience. I happened to schedule a last minute appointment because the other eye place I was going to totally fumbled and I decided to try a new place. I am so glad I decided to try this place. Upon arrival I was greeted and asked if I was there for an appointment or to pickup glasses. We were checked in by friendly staff. The doctor I was seen by Dr. O(forgot how to spell) was so knowledgeable and friendly. She was amazing! And she took time to explain everything to me. This guy laughed at my mom, who was asking questions about their company's policy with insurance. Not about our insurance, but how their company runs insurances. Without getting too much into detail, he was saying he couldn't find my coverage. I even showed him my vision insurance card and he didn't care. I called my insurance, and of course, everything is fine. On their end, something was wrong. So when my mom, who helps me in my adult years as I'm disabled, was asking questions to get clarity on why their system could be rejecting VSP. Not only did he laugh in her face, he then proceeded to mansplain my own insurance to her, which he'd just done to me. Guess being a woman means you don't know the difference between a PPO and an HMO. We just left because who is being laughed at and chooses to stay. Don't waste your time! My appt was at 4:40. My husband's at 5:00. We both had to arrange to leave work early. I showed up, checked in, and browsed frames while waiting for my appt. At my appt time, Dr Simonds comes from the back, stops at the technician desk in the store, and says that he needed to get out of the exam room. He then proceeded to make small talk with his technician and then went to stand looking out the window. I looked at my watch. 4:45 for my 4:40 appt. Figuring he thought I was just browsing glasses, I said to him in what I thought was a friendly manner that when he was ready to go back in that I was his 4:40 appt. He turned to me and curtly said, "I will see you when I can see you." Whoa. Then he proceeded to tell me in the same curt tone that he's already got a patient in the pre-exam phase in front of me. I said okay and that I just wanted to make sure they knew I was there. Then he said again in the same curt manner that Gilbert was well aware I was there and would let me know when it was my turn. Whoa again. Then he walked off leaving me feeling like I'd just been talked to by the school principal. Obviously they were well behind schedule. My husband then arrived for his 5 pm appointment, and we chatted for a couple minutes. Then Gilbert came out to tell us he was having an issue with their machine being able to transmit information to the doctor or something and we'd need to reschedule our appointments. However, he could get us in "as early as tomorrow." Well behind schedule, a rude and arrogant doctor, and then a reschedule? Hard pass. If the doctor's attitude wasn't enough to tell us they didn't want our business, telling us we'd need to reschedule made it perfectly clear. We will take our nearsighted selves elsewhere. Anyone considering going to this LensCrafters would be wise to do the same. read more

They make you believed that they accept all insurance but they don't. They don't accept insurances and they make you think that they're a doctor they're LensCrafters that's all they do free eye exam that's it very disappointing how they treated us. Just moved to Hemet from Michigan & have a minor eye infections. Apparently the doc here doesn't know anything about minor eye infections...I was told he only does glasses AFTER they take ALL my info & check my insurance! Kinda nuts when you think about it, I wouldn't go to urgent care for an eye issue, I'd go to an EYE DOCTOR but that's where he's sending me...without even talking to me! Guess there's not much money in taking 5 minutes with a patient who has good eye insurance coverage, he'd rather go for the $600+ glasses customer. Friendly staff! Physician is super friendly and makes you feel at ease. I was fitted for contacts and glasses. They were able to bill my insurance for the contacts. They had my contacts ready within a few days and communicated promptly. Took away one star since I waited wayyy past my scheduled appointment time to be seen (almost two hour wait). read more

The Dr. Was nice and explained everything that was happening step by step. I was able to get my glasses in under 10 days. First, I have gone to this LensCrafters for four years. I know the glasses are expensive, but the convenience of the location and hours brings me back. However, the wait time for the exams has become very long. Setting an appointment is not really a guarantee that you will not have to sit for an hour before being seen. Then, the appointment seems rushed. The doctor is a little arrogant and doesn't give the customer time to respond to his questions and he likes to talk about his personal information that is a little much when all you want is to get your prescription. I picked up my glasses recently, and they did not work the way I hoped. They are to help with reading and it is necessary to hold the test card less than a foot from my eyes to use them. I pointed this out to the technician and she told me I should have told the doctor that I planned to read at a distance to my lap, let's say, because that is considered to be an extended distance. In my estimation, reading a book that rests on your lap or your "lap"top which is sitting on your lap doesn't seem like an unusual request when getting a reading prescription. Everything beyond 12 inches is a complete blur. She also mentioned that the doctor had written for a progressive prescription that they "translated" into a reader which I know nothing about. I just thought it was strange that she pointed this out. I told the doctor I did not want progressives as I had them two years ago and never did get used to the adjustment to my far- and nearsighted needs. I was very clear about wanting separate prescriptions. I ended up bringing these expensive glasses home to "try for a week" and bring back if I am unhappy. I didn't find the technician helpful because she blamed me for why the prescription is not written at a comfortable strength for the distance of reading, and she did nothing to help me like offering to make another appointment to be seen by the doctor. She also did not share the 30-day return policy with me knowing I wasn't particularly happy with the quality. I had to go find that myself. The staff are not very professional at this store. They talk about inappropriate things in front of the customers and make the customers feel like they are interrupting them if they want to ask questions or if they approach the counter. They are very social and informal with each other and that can make things awkward because everyone in the store can hear what they are saying. Although I may need to return for an adusted prescription, this will be the last time I use them for my glasses. read more

I took my daughter for an optometrist appointment and before I got there I called them about 15 minutes before my appointment to verify the time of the appointment. The person who answered the called confirmed the appointment time, but failed to mention that the optometrist was running behind schedule. We get there on time for the appointment and half an hour later they called in a different patient and when I tried to find out what's going on, I'm just told that the doctor is behind schedule. This people were easily running an hour behind schedule and don't see a problem with the inconvenience they make you go through. This could easily be avoided if they were to let you know when you check in that they are running late over an hour to give you the option to wait or reschedule. This is unacceptable!! read more

Exam only takes over an 1 hour and 25 minutes ... so obvious that the girls and lady working there don't like their Job. I broke my magnetic clip on my sunglasses and was leaving on vacation in a few days, I was frantic. I didn't get them from Lens crafters but I took a chance and walked in looking for help with the repair. The manager Amanda looked at them and realized she didn't have the piece needed for the repair and would have to order it. I told her I was leaving in a few days and really needed them as I had eye surgery recently. she took the sunglasses and my phone number and said she would call me. i received a call within the hour and she said she phoned several other locations and they didn't have the piece. She said she would drive by another on her way home. This was so above and beyond, it meant so much to me. Amanda called the next day and told me they were ready to be picked up! I couldn't believe it, I was thrilled! When I picked them up she refused to take any payment. Amanda is such an asset to Lens Crafters, she restored my faith in humanity. read more

All the bad reviews are coming from Karen's. This is a good location they are pricey but isn't everything expensive? If you can't afford it go else where. Everyone here is nice and they help you out the best way they can, they even help you pick up frames. They've always helped me fix my glasses over 5+ years. For the people saying they don't help, not only that but they give you a tray to put ur dirty glasses in that u out on yourself and once you're done trying on glasses you give it to them for them to clean. As far as people welcoming you they do and if they don't it's probably because they're with a patient i don't know why people this they're entitled to have a royalty checkin once they walk in get realistic. I would have given a 0 if I could. I feel like they ripped me off. I have Humana medicare which should cover my exam with $200 for glasses. After an assistant did part of the exam he informed me I would need to pay extra to see the Dr to complete the part that would show if I had any medical problems. $35 if I didn't want eye drops or $15 if I did. Of course I paid the $35. I had to drive home. When done I found out that most of their frames are over $200 without the lense. They did point to a corner where the low priced frames were. This morning my friend, who gets regular exams, told me she has never had to pay extra and always gets 2 new pairs when she goes. read more

I went to Lans crafters in Hemet Ca to update my perscription. They got the lenses right but not the frames. I chose Ray Bans RB 6457 frames. They lasted 32 days before the joint where the folding hinge meets the arm broke. The frames are so cheaply made with a metal screw that screws into plastic, not metal it will not hold up to average wear and tear. I went to another store and they replaced them but not without a fight. Now 3 weeks later, the new frames are starting to separate in exactly the same place as the old ones. The lenses will not fit any other frame so in order to replace them, it will cost me anothe $800. So I went back to the Hemet store to at least try to buy a replacement plan. Apparently they know I will be replacing these frames often so they declined me the replacement plan. They offered me nothing! They were not even interested in looking at the cheap faulty frames. They know and they don't care. That was the last time I will ever walk into a lenscrafters. read more

After waisting my time for over 2 hours they finally give me a price for glasses. The first quote would be me paying almost $900 and my insurance portion was $800. Total of $1700. I said no way. Then she lowered my portion to $500. For still a total of $1400. I said this is still to high. She then told me I'm out of network. I said you could of told me that 2 hours ago! This place was efficient and clean. The shopping center looked a bit run down. I was able to set up an appointment for my mom the same day. The doctor was kind and tried to speak some Spanish even though it would have been nice to have an interpreter present. My review is based on a few different dealings with LensCrafters in Hemet. My girlfriend who has bad eyesight, got a set of $400 glasses at LensCrafters of Hemet with her insurance. After waiting multiple weeks she got her glasses back and they just did not seem right. Her vision was still bad after the doctor said she was going to be 2020. She still needs to go have them re-done for the second time. Shame on you LensCrafters for not getting the job done right. My other complaint and it's not a compliment. Today I went in to pick up contact lenses for my son-in-law. One large lady with red hair saw me and didn't even greet me as I walked in??? She then said I'll be right with you. Momentarily she came back and said you're going to have to wait. There's three people ahead of you. I know I'm not number one or number two in their eyes but that was just plain rude. My daughter says she gets the same thing from them when she goes there. rudeness. Why do franchises think they can get away with being jerks? Are they the only sunglass eyeglass place in town? I don't think so, the cost is never what they advertise and they say one thing and do the other. I would think twice on this please LensCrafters in Hemet. I went to this location in Hemet, service is not the greatest, waited an hour and a half before seen the Optometrist but anyways I mainly need glasses for night time due to glare and lights wider not so sharp than what the are. I picked up my glasses Wednesday around 2pm 2 days ago and no change at all, I still have the same problem with glare and lights of the incoming traffic. I just called and the lady tells me to give it a week and if it doesn't get better to call them to make a new appt really????? I'm going on vacation in 2 weeks out of the country and that's why I went on time for my eye exam and now I have to wait??? I will never go back to that location even if I have to drive an hour away, I will go back to the Victorville location! Anytime I have a problem with my glasses or prescription I've gone in, and they've always helped me. I've had multiple cases where things went wrong regarding my glasses (from another place) and Erica from this location always helps me out. She has amazing customer service and is so nice. After waiting almost 2 weeks for my glasses I went in to pick them up and found that the doctor got my prescription completely wrong! The technician tried to fix the prescription and I had to wait almost 2 more weeks for the supposed correct prescription. When I went in to pick up the "corrected" prescription it was also wrong. While they reimbursed me the cost of the frames and lenses they refused to reimburse the cost of the eye exam. Terrible service. I don't recommend them to anyone. read more

No issues for me guys.. *knock on wood* I don't understand the part about the prescription being wrong. You sit at a machine and see what your prescription will look like. You tell the doctor yes no if it's good. Last time I went it was more advanced with new equipment. If there isn't a good amount to choose from I imagine you just take your prescription and buy elsewhere.. if it's too expensive for the glasses and frames then same situation... After my experience today I am shocked this location is only listed at 3 stars . After really never experiencing a "lens crafters" I went to several optometrists offices in the area including my own. After deciding that all that I was seeing were far from age appropriate. I settled and my nerves sent me to lens crafters. I was greeted immediately . I was ready with my prescription. Insurance info . And they were ready to go!! As well. Immediately #1 is the level of comfort. To look around try multiple lenses take your time. Really think about what you're buying #2 price effective and honest shows you the breakdown of what you are looking at . Insurance questions included . If you feel comfortable at your regular eye dr I promise you it's an illusion. #3 and for a time in which we live ..... a significant turn around . I received my new frames and prescription lenses in LESSSSSS than TWO hours. I've waited close to 3 weeks with my optometrist.
