I have been going here for several years and have had nothing but GREAT service and the cataract surgery that they performed on me was OUTSTANDING and the doctor that did the surgery could not have been nicer, he was great and did a fantastic job, my vision now is 20/20 in both eyes and the DMV has removed the restriction on my license. Is there less than one star? So.. a 3 minute surgery took 3 hours. After it was complete I recieved a call that my husband was done, I said Im walking in from parking lot. On this cloudy, chilly day the nurse was pushing my 78 yr old husband's wheelchair outside where she wanted him to wait for me. I was walking up as I heard him say, " Im not waiting outside." What kind of screwed up patient care is that? The after care instructions are vague. I think Medicare will be interested in the questionable treatment this facility provides. We're going to Scripps or Loma Linda next time and I advise everyone to do the same. The wait for the procedure is somewhat understandable. Somewhat. But the kicking him outside? The 3 phone call I got saying first, pick up in 30 min, then, oh hewont be ready for 30 more min, oh he's ready now...a new staff is necessary for both surgery center and eye center. Soooooooo long story short. It turns out that I have stage four cataracts. I was referred to this place by America's Best glasses. "Most" of the people here are delightful. Very courteous and understand you may be going through a hard time. Looks like I will be getting two eye surgeries. May 21st and May 28th. Please pray for me. The bad news is that it is expensive! The good news is they have a promotional service that if you apply for a synchrony credit card they defer the 32% for two years. I am really excited to be able to actually see normally again. One piece of advice to that young girl with the attitude in the office is this and please quote me "do not ever tell someone who has stage 4 cataracts to go visit a website if you don't understand something". Dr. Sorensen and Dr. Carlson collabed on an issue with Rocky's eye. It should have been passed on to a specialist,s specialist and have not proceeded with this complex issue. I've been seeing dr chow for almost a year now. Due to having 4 retina surgeries by a different dr. I came from Newport Beach seeing drs. I moved to Hemet and started seeing dr chow every 8 weeks for a ck up on my left eye. We'll a few weeks ago i went in for my ck up and dr chow didn't even look at my left eye ( scary) he only focused on my rt eye bcuz I mentioned i was seeing wavy lines. Told me my retina wasn't torn yet and to come back in 8 weeks. Well not paying any attention to my left eye, I got very worried. So I now changed back to my drs in Newport Beach where I feel my eye sight in BOTH EYES ARE IMPORTANT. One thing I really liked about dr chow is his bedside manner. Doesn't matter if you are paying cash, a former patient who spent over 5k on Lasik, or have PPO insurance. The staff treats you like garbage. My complaint is small -- but the bedside manner seemed to be lacking. For how much they poked, and prodded, and shined lights in my eyes, they didn't really seem to care how uncomfortable it was. The dr and his assistant seemed upset when I had to pull away for a moment. The dr didn't rush me out of the office like some drs do. He took the time to explain the functions of the eye, but he didn't leave much pause for questions. It wasn't the best experience, but it wasn't horrible either. read more

My little had a large stye on her eyelid that was so large it made her eyelid droop. It was very hard for me to find an ophthalmologist in my area and after research, and lots of review reading I ended up here. I am so happy that we did! Upon arrival the front office staff is very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The staff in the back was equally as sweet and helpful. They spoke to my daughter as a person, and not down to her just because she's a child. They were very thorough and explained everything that they were doing, that really helped to put her mind at ease. I really appreciate the staff taking their time to be kind with my scared girl. We saw Dr. Sorenson, and I am so happy that's who we were assigned to. Talk about kind and knowledgeable! He knew right off what the problem was with her eye and took the time to not only explain what it was, but why it was there, and what the steps would be to fix it. Even though he was speaking to me most of the time, he still included her in the conversation and explained in a way so she would understand what was going on as well. He would even tell her sweet antidotes about when he got hurt when he was a kid. He really put her at ease and made the process a little easier on her. Even though I think he knew it would have to be removed, he first tried the noninvasive approach of eyedrops and warm compresses, and a follow up scheduled for 2 weeks after. I appreciate that he tried that way first to try and avoid having to cut her eyelid. Who wants to see their child go through that if it is unnecessary? Unfortunately the drops didn't work and he ended up having to cut and drain it himself. When we came back my daughter was scared out of her mind, but he did an amazing job to make her as comfortable as possible. I didn't know what the procedure involved, and once he started I was surprised she sat as calmly as she did! My stomach was turning the whole time! He still took the time to explain everything that was happening, ask me if I was ok, and continued to tell her how brave and great she was doing while he worked. He was very thorough, and took the time to make sure it was done correctly for the pure fact that he didn't want to see her have to go through it again. I am so glad we ended up here, Dr. Sorenson's bedside manner is phenomenal and is backed up with his knowledge and efficiency. I wished I could rate higher from my first consultation with Dr. Sorenson who is amazing to my cataract surgery in both eyes after being told I was legally blind by an Optometrist Dr. Sorenson was professional, compassionate and so helpful and friendly. Everyone in this office was great with me, very friendly, very helpful and kind. They all took time to answer my questions, returned my calls immediately and were wonderful. On the days of my surgery the nurses in the back that prepped me were wonderful and made me feel very comfortable and the best part was Dr. Sorenson checking on me before I went into the surgery room. I am very happy with the care that I have received at Inland Eye Specialists with Dr Carlson and his assistant Chantel (sp?). I was diagnosed with a severe retinal tear by another provider and the Inland Eye Specialists were able to schedule a same day appointment for me. Though the office was clearly busy, the entire staff was courteous, professional and moved patients through efficiently. Dr Carlson explained my situation and told me of treatments along with possible risks and was open to any and all questions. I opted for the laser treatment even though I was terrified of the procedure. While Chantel prepped my eye for the doctor, she spoke highly of his skills and his bedside manner to help settle my nerves. It wasn't a fun procedure but it was painless and both professionals helped keep me calm throughout. (Again, I was terrified.) The aftercare has been also top notch with Dr Carlson calmly explaining how I should take care of my eye effectively. Chantel even asked about my partner's dental appointment at the follow-up, as it had been mentioned during the first appointment. I was surprised that she would remember a small detail like that when both she and Dr Carlson see so many patients and their family members each day. I was referred to Inland Eye Specialist to get cataracts removed and my wife and I met with the Dr. Donaldson he examined my eyes and said I have a very bad astigmatism and how would I like to have new lens implanted to help with my bad astigmatism. He told me if had the surgery I wouldn't need eye glasses anymore other than for reading very small print, I said that would be great and the thought of not having to wear glasses all day everyday sounded very appealing plus I spend over $800.00 for a pair of glasses every year that would be one less yearly expense. He told me and my wife I he could preform the surgery. Well with spending over $9000.00 and a year later my eye sight is not much better and I have given a big run around I still have poor eye sight I have to wear eye glasses all the time not much improvement at all. To add insult to injury I still pay over $800.00 for a pair glasses! Dr. Donaldson also told me he had some new lens he could implant well I have been waiting for over a year for him to call me back about the lens and so far nothing! I see Dr. Donaldson here in Hemet and I think he is great. I saw Dr Archibald for an eye exam and he was very nice. I ordered glasses from them and THEY TOOK ALMOST 3 MONTHS to get the glasses. My prescription isn't much, but the HORRIBLE lab they used started off leaving the prescription out of the left lens. Kim in the office kept insisting that they didn't and I just needed to get used to them. Finally the doctor checked them and said yes, there is no prescription in the left lens! They sent them back out and when they came back 3 weeks later they had added transition to them which I can not wear to work! The frames were uncomfortable and I ended up choosing another frame and paying out of pocket $250.00. They came in 2 weeks later and the lab left the Prism off of one lens. They send it back to this crappy lab and Finally this past Monday they came in and the prescription was still off. I told Kim that I'm done and just want my money back. She refused and said I need to wear them for a week to get used to them. I can't get used to not being able to see. I called my insurance, they called and told them to take the glasses back and refund me. I called this morning to tell them I am bringing the glasses back today for a refund, and was told my Idalia that it takes a month to give me back my money! They are rude and I suggest you do not buy glasses from this place. I just want to be able to see and to make it this hard is crazy. They either blame the customer or the lab. I highly would not recommend this business. Stay clear I recently had the unfortunate experience of visiting Inland Eye Specialists (Hemet), and I feel compelled to share my disappointment with the level of professionalism exhibited by the staff. My encounter left me questioning the quality of service and overall competence of this establishment. From the beginning, the office had me fill out first time patient forms online. I completed the two and submitted it to the designated e-mail address so we could help speed up the process when checking in. That was not the case. They seem to not be able to locate the documents we submitted so we spent an additional 15 - 20 min trying to resolve the situation. Instead we had to fill out the paper work all over again. That resulted in us being over 30 minutes late to our initial appointment start time. Then came the Dilated Eye Exam form. There is a form that you sign if you either accept or decline the digital dilated eye exam for 39.00 additional dollars. Since I was with my wife, and we had our children, we did not want both of us to have our eyes dilated. One of us needed be able to watch the children so we DECLINED and signed that document stating that I would not need the digital eye dilation exam and my wife would just do the normal eye dilation procedure Next they take us in, and since this is my first time here at the office, I am not fully aware of their procedures and they take me through to two different stations to get my eyes checked. Again, I have never done this before so I wasn't aware nor did they communicate the steps before seeing the ophthalmologist. From their, everything seem to go a little smoother but then a woman from the front desk asked for additional payment for me to get my eyes checked for contacts. I declined that right away and one staff member apologized and said she should have told you this before she walked in during your visit. I was thrown by the amount of miscommunication and unprofessionalism experienced at this office. Next was the check out process. As we proceeded to check out, the woman at the check out station said that we owe 39.00 for the digital dialation eye exam. I said we declined that and she pressed that we did it and we still owe. Another staff member from the front desk spoke up and said to the woman that it was a misunderstanding and not to bill us for it. I was very distraught about the woman at the check out attitude. Let's also add that her and another staff member thought it was an appropriate time to discuss personal life matters as we were trying to handle the situation. She seem very unapologetic for the miscommunication and from their we thought this office is a mess. Weeks go by and we recieve a bill in the mail from their billing department saying we owe the 39.00 still. We were appalled and very upset that whoever did the check out with us disregarded her peer and still went ahead and billed us. We spoke with the billing department and their were probably the only professional staff member we came across from this establishment. She said and I quote "are getting a lot of mixed up stories not adding up from the staff at that location but she will try to resolve it asap. She even stated that the office said there is no such paper work that states whether we accept or decline the digital dilation procedure yet we signed some paper when we were there. Then we come to find out that they actually do and that they shred that document so there is no evidence that points to us stating that we did decline the procedure. Today I received a call from a office manager and she said they will void the bill but began to tell me that I cursed and use profanity in the office towards the staff member. I was again very upset, its a public setting, I have my children with me, why would I berate someone off hand who I have never met. Yes I said this office is ridiculous and they need to get it together but never did I curse at them or say a derogatory statement. I felt like she was talking to me like a child trying to make her point. I told her I will never step foot in your office again and you bet I'll leave a truthful review. My experience at Inland Eye Specialist was far from satisfactory. The unprofessionalism displayed by the staff, coupled with the substandard facilities, raises serious doubts about the competence and commitment of this optometrist office to providing quality eye care. I strongly advise others to consider alternative options for their eye care needs and avoid Inland Eye Specialist at all cost. read more

This is the 2nd time I'm writing a review for this company. The first time was on 5/24/21 regarding a missing refund. I finally ended up getting a refund 22 days later, after all my calling in, stressing and complaining. Today my mom had her 2nd eye surgery. Once again there was no issue with the Doctor or his helpers. My issue is with the lady manning the office, the "Supervisor" I asked to speak to (who never introduced herself so I don't know her name), and the office manager, Mark (whom the Supervisor said she spoke to regarding my issue). Same as the 1st time around, the woman manning the front desk in the Surgery dept told me I needed to pay upfront for the surgery. I told her I was unwilling to pay upfront this time around because their office was untrustworthy regards to issuing refunds. I explained about the hassle I had the first time and I asked her if she was willing to just hold my credit card until after the surgery so I can pay the correct amount then once it was confirmed my mom had an astigmatism this time around. She refused, even choosing to say "well it does take two weeks to get refunds." I then asked to speak to her Supervisor. She went in the back and spoke to the Sup. Came back out and said the Sup would speak to me shortly. 5 minutes later a woman opens the back door and just stands there staring at me. Doesn't introduce herself or even say hello. I walk up to her and ask her if she's the Supervisor. Once she confirmed I again explain the situation. She tells me that it's company policy to pay upfront and there's no exceptions. I then said that the office manager Mark was aware of the problem the first time around and she said that it was the same office manager that told her to refuse my request due to company policy. I obviously became even more upset because of the lack of consideration for the previous event. Don't know anything about the doctors. But we had an awesome experience with Idalia Gonzalez. We came in for glasses only, since I had already had my eyes checked with Kaiser. But I found out that my Kaiser insurance doesn't cover me for eyeglasses. So, with my eye insurance that I do have, this was the place we ended up. Idalia was the only person in the building, because everyone else had gone to lunch. She was a little impersonal at the beginning. But she really warmed up to us. I had brought my wife with me so I could get the right eyeglasses for my face. Since she never likes my choices. But my wife finally had me down to one choice of eyeglasses. I really wasn't to on board with this pair. And that's when Adalia jumped into action. She went and grabbed some new glasses that weren't cataloged in yet. And we had my new glasses for my ugly mug. I was happy, my wife was happy, and Idalia was happy. Idalia made our shopping that much easier. So my wife will get her eyes checked at Inland Eye Specialist and get her new glasses only if Idalia is there. It's now been over two years since I had cataract surgery . I paid the upgraded lenses that were suppose to make me be able to see with no glasses or contacts . The girl at sales desk said when i asked about the clause that they don't guarantee results . She said Oh that happens so rarely . You'll be happy . Took two years to pay off the five grand I think my eyes are worse now than before . And every time you go there is a two hour wait . Which is not a good idea since it gives people a chance to compare and talk about what they had done . A man sitting next to me had same surgery and same dr he was almost crying . Said he loves to read but with this surgery it's awful and he wished he never had it done . Get more than one office opinion . And if there are wall to wall you people get out fast. First off I have to say, to the reviewers who have bad mouthed this place you all must think your $!-!/+ don't stink and have really bad attitudes specially when it comes down to dealing with people, because that's the only reason a bad rating could make any sense. The front staff were welcoming and got us on our way with the paperwork. In that time I asked if they had a restroom I could use which they directed me to at least three if the first were occupied. They called my name whilst in the bathroom, but patiently waited for me to rejoin the lobby. Then the doctors assistants two very friendly lady's of which only one I caught the name of which was Amber, brought me to the room I was to be in and as a team did a few tests so the Doc could come in and do his thing. And let me tell you, the Doctors assistants were perfectly friendly, and were able to joke around with the wife and I, they are fantastic members of the team and a pleasure to have around. Then there was Dr. Donaldson, the man truly knows his practice well, and the dude treats you like you were a friend/family. He jokes around with ya, but most importantly, after explaining what he is doing, before unloading an extreme amount of information on you, he takes a step back and asks you if you're understanding everything, and that if you have any questions please ask. He pulled a small rock out of my cornea near in the zone of color, and buffed the abrasion smooth that was left behind. He informed me of proper care to the injured eye, and explained to me how it was going to heal, and that he'd need to see me in two weeks for a follow up to make sure things are looking good. I highly recommend this place to anyone, well except for those who have that ego that think they are the only thing that matters ever. Great people, great place, excellent service, and so much more! I am averaging to 3 stars because my cataract surgery with Dr. Philips was outstanding, but... BEWARE... I was encouraged to get readers after my surgery (even though I didn't need them) because Medicare covered them and I would have nothing to pay. Today, TWO YEARS LATER, I received a letter from a collection agency for $23.60 owing on those glasses. This is the first I've heard of it after never receiving any bill or notification from IES. Every time we have had a appointment, we have waited over an hour after our appointment time to be seen. They take you back and leave you sitting in the hallway until they can find a room. Do not go here. They disrespect their customers time. I have never had an appointment start within 45 minutes of the scheduled time. Today I arrived and was taken in 40 minutes after my scheduled time only to be told my doctor was not there and I needed to reschedule, she did not come in today. My appointment was at 2:30pm. They never called, probably so they could bill my insurance and me for two appointments (my opinion). When I asked why no one called earlier to save me from wasting my only day off, no answer. They simply do not care . They will bill you if you miss an appointment (they warn you all the time), but who compensates me when it is they who miss the appointment. Walked up to the building 10 min late to my appointment because i drove over an hour to be there only to be told it was too late and they wouldnt see me. I Insisted they honor the appointment and they agreed but said they didnt accept my insurance and i would have to self pay. even though i made this appointment a few days ago and explained to the receptionist that i needed to go somewhere that accepted my insurance. I gave all my insurance info days ago and I had also explained specifically that i was coming from over an hour away. But they didnt bother to tell me that they didnt accept my insurance until after i had already driven down there. Thanks a lot for wasting my time. Very disappointed in the office staff with my last 2 visits with this office. I scheduled both of my daughters for their annual eye exam and the system was down so they had only one of my daughters scheduled. We had an extremely long wait to get my 2nd daughter in to the system and was even questioned if I had scheduled her... but finally got to see the Dr. which went very well once we had a room. One of my daughters ended up needing glasses and we ordered her glasses and were told that we would get a call next week when her glasses arrived. 2 weeks later We never received a call so I called in and it sounded like I was bothering the woman I spoke to. I was told that the glasses had just arrived that same day and they were just going to call me, it was 4pm and the office was close to closing. I was irritated but I still had to pick up my daughters glasses so I tried to remain patient and understanding. Things happen... names get over looked... I get it. But today my daughter and I went in to pick up her glasses and the woman who helped us was not friendly at all. We sat down and I was instructed to move to the other seat so my daughter could try on her glasses comfortably. I'm not sure how her being in the seat next to me was uncomfortable or any different than the seat she was in but okay, I moved. Then when she was given her glasses and tried them on was asked how they fit... and then that was it... there were no care instructions what so ever. This is her very first pair of glasses! We sat and waited for instructions of some kind and were basically just dismissed. I'm super disappointed in the quality of costumer service here. read more

I don't appreciate my business about my insurance and finances being exposed loudly in the waiting room in front of other patients that are waiting. Very unprofessional. Next time it should be done privately at the front desk. read more
