I enjoyed the service here and so did my kids. The staff was very friendly and helpful with my daughter because she was scared of the equipment that checks your retinas and vision. I can't remember the name of the girl that was very helpful with my daughter in calming her nerves down by distracting her with questions about her school and Friends and just making her feel overall at ease with the experience of the eye exam. With our insurance we are able to get great frames very thankful they had that option for us... because I thought we would have to pay an arm and a leg for a decent pair of frames. I have been bringing my child to this optometry for years, have had excellent service until today. Came in a few weeks ago so my daughter could pick out new frames. They said they were going to call/text me when they would be ready to be picked up and they never did. I decided to go in and ask about why I have not received any notice of the frames being ready for pick up when in the past they have been consistent with letting me know about pick up windows. I told one of the young ladies about it who was very helpful and was able to help me in Spanish. She then asked her coworker who was an older white woman about it because she was the one that helped my 10 year old daughter pick out her frames when we came in weeks ago. This older woman proceeds to tell the young lady in English (assuming I wouldn't understand because she was helping me in Spanish) that my daughter was "difficult" and made her take out many frames out and then proceeds to say out loud that I am a liar and that they did call me about picking up the frames., which is untrue since I have no missed calls or texts from them. To have an employee say this in-front of me assuming I would not understand was not only disrespectful but extremely inappropriate. I will not be returning to this establishment any time soon and hope management is able to talk to their employees about the use of micro-aggressions and discrimination that they exhibit. read more

I have VSP insurance and thought I would pop in to see their selection as other options were limited at the other stores. I was promptly waited on. The staff went out of their way to ensure all my questions were answered. One employee even grabbed her own sunglasses out of her bag to show me one of the options that wasn't on the floor (but they could easily order) I found the employees to be knowledgeable and kind. They worked well together to get all questions answered. Menifee Lakes Optometry is top notch! I had a medical issue regarding my eyes that needed to be assessed the same day and this provider was the only office that was able to see me. The office is tucked away in the corner of the strip mall with Living Spaces and Ralph's so I didn't really know what to expect. I was VERY happily greeted with an office that was bright, clean and efficiently run. The receptionist checked me in immediately and after confirming insurance details, I was seen by Dr. Walworth. He put my mind at ease right away regarding the issue I was having, took the time to explain to me the cause of my issue and formulated a reasonable plan to get back on the up and up! I went two years ago to get my glasses and what ended up happening is my insurance pays a good amount for frames so they still charged me and extra $300 out of pocket for designer frames . I believe this is a scam . This year I went elsewhere and got my designer frames for $150 that was covered under my insurance no of pocket charges for me . I have been here a couple times. My initial visit, where I got my eye exam for the first time (in quite a few years due to Covid closures) and the new technology that they had, blew me away. That rough puff of air in your eye was just a tiny little poof. I had mentioned this and they talked me through step by step everything I needed (and not just most value sold) even when I didn't know the right questions to ask. The dr was so sweet and informative! I was impressed with that visit. I later came back to pick up my glasses I had ordered, and I really started to notice how beautifully clean, organized, and put together the place was. I thought this would be my final visit as I was planning to move in just a few more months, but unfortunately, my frames got bent and I went back to Menifee Lakes optometry and I had paid for the frame replacement and was able to replace my damaged broken frames within a week! I can't say enough good things about Menifee Lakes Optometry. Dr. Walworth was kind enough to squeeze in a family of four (same day) during their busiest time of year. I was shocked! I don't know how they did it. They just wanted to help us. The ladies that work there were sooo nice! Especially Crystal and Carmen (I hope I'm spelling them correctly). Despite having to come up with a plan to fit us around the appointments and having to stay late, they heard what I was there to do and made it all happen with a genuine smile. However, I went to another company to buy frames who then filled that prescription (all wrong). I came upon this business due to the good Yelp reviews and I'm glad I did. After a series of eye surgeries I was finally ready for a new set of lenses so I came in for a exam last Thursday. The next day I experienced a small mass I my left eye. By Monday my vision was nearly gone. I was able to drive myself there in hopes they would evaluate me to see if I should go to the ER. The staff was great. I was examined and suggested I should head to the ER. Turns out I suffered a detached retina. I've been treated and I am recovering well. My family and I absolutely love Dr. Walworth and his staff! Been going for years and Dr. Walworth has seen my kids grow up. He always took the time to check for and assure me that my kids didn't inherit the eye diseases I'm suffering from. His staff is always amazing, going above and beyond to make sure all your needs are taken care of. My eye issues are pretty complicated because I've had a total of 8 surgeries stemming from Uveitis, glaucoma and cataracts from my early teenage years. My last recent surgery was a cornea transplant. As a result, it takes a lot of work to fit me into a pair of glasses that works for me. Dr. Walworth has the patience of a saint when checking for changes in my vision. My eyes are very sensitive to light, glare and adjustments. Dr. Walworth and his staff ALWAYS make sure to get the insurance to approve all the add ons for my new pair of glasses, which isn't an easy thing to do but is so very much appreciated. I also REALLY APPRECIATE the fact that they exceeded all my expectations in ordering something out of the norm to enhance my new pair of glasses and bring more comfort to my eyes. What a waste of my time. My Opthamologist is in Vista, I live in Menifee, and didn't want to drive back to Vista to pick up new glasses. I get an annual there with a VERY complete check up and only needed lenses. My doctor gave me 2 prescriptions as I need one for reading and one for distance/night driving. I have frames and don't need to buy any frames. I just need lenses. After checking in, and filling out a form, she tells me they don't take Medicare so she was going to called my secondary supplemental to see how much they would cover. She doesn't even know how this works. I had to explain to her if Medicare doesn't cover something, then the supplemental won't either. This was an Optician's office not an Opthamologist. They are 3 minutes from Sun City and would not take Medicare. Now Medicare would cover my lenses.....at least for one pair. There is no reason for them not to take Medicare for at least one pair of lenses. It's very obvious they don't care about their demographics with all the seniors nearby. It's just about the money. The only MD's who don't take straight Medicare are the specialists like Cardiologists, Orthopedists, Pulmonologists etc..... Not an Optician's office. If you have Medicare, don't bother with this office. read more
