Dr Wilson is very detailed and attentive to his patients. He really cares and strives to educate you about your eyes by explaining what he does in all the steps in the exam. He has some up to date technologies to help make it easier to examine your eyes in ways older technology does not. He also wants to make you comfortable both in the experience, and very importantly, comfortable in the prescription glasses he gives. In the past I've had optometrist who do not care about how comfortable you are with the glasses they prescribe to you and just stated their prescription is what makes you see best and does not care of it gives you headaches. Dr Wilson on the other hand will cater to make it comfortable to you. In fact he corrected my last prescription which was stronger than necessary. They are also very punctual with their appointments (no long waits) and offer weekend hours, which is great to accommodate busy schedules. They office is clean and modern. for starters they close early on Wednesday not at 7. then I paid for all the extras on a set of glasses for my daughter like transition, scratch resistant, etc. once I got the glass I realized they don't and any thing but basic lenses. not to mention the lenses were falling out of the frame and the coating on the brand new lenses were already coming off! recommend if u get your prescription here take it somewhere else for the actual glasses and lense. read more

Everything was tidy and clean, all staff and the doctor were very nice BUT their policies are crazy. Everything was an additional cost, what's the point of having insurance. The thing that turned me all the way off was that they charged me $25 for a signature. Twenty five dollars just to sign a doctor's note for school. I have never seen or heard of people doing that. Bear Creek Eye Care needs to hire another person who knows how to adjust frames. Martin is great, but the other receptionist is awful. She thinks the way to adjust eyeglass frames is to bend them at the bridge which changes vision accuracy. I tried to tell her this but she said I was wrong. She ruined a very expensive pair of glasses. When I told her I didn't want her to bend another pair of glasses at the bridge, she rudely told me I could go elsewhere, but everyone adjusts frames this way. I won't go back which is too bad because the optometrist is very good. read more

Exam is thorough. Dr and staff are nice but they didn't listen to what I wanted when I ordered my glasses. I have a pair of glasses I got a few years ago from the Marine Corps that do what I want. I am eligible for new glasses every year so I wanted an upgrade. They tried upselling me. I get that's it's a business. I opted to just stick with new glasses to work the same as my previous ones. When I was there for "fitment" I could hear them trying to upsell someone in the corner the same way. Fitment was a joke and giant waste of time. Sat in a chair. Asked how they felt. Then left. Nobody fitted anything. The glasses I received made it so I can only see up close. Terrible for what I requested and what I got. Useless and a waste of my yearly benefit. I will not use them. Then when I brought it up during "fitment" I was talked to like I didn't know what I was talking about. Won't return. read more

The staff was great. The doctor was great I loved how she explained things to me clearly. I was not happy of the fact my bill was not explained to me clearly, and there were products added to my sunglasses that I did not ask for and I saw an extra charge of $200 for that. I've been going here for a few years. Trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. But time after time I am unimpressed with their customer service. When asking questions, they would either dismiss me or explain to me with terminology as if I had a doctorate myself. Either way I felt like they treated me as though I was stupid. For years I felt as though the Doctors and some other staff, treated me with less care and less attentiveness. And spoke to me with a lack of importance. I regularly wouldn't purchase any of their over priced glasses and I wouldn't be surprised if this and my insurance is why I was treated unkindly. I found this place through Yelp. I was looking for a new eye doctor close to my house. I am so happy that I came. The optometrist was very helpful and explained everything I needed to know about my eyes. They have a big selection of designer frames. They even have a selection of sunglasses. I was impressed that you can get your presentation in the sun glasses. The staff is very helpful and always so friendly. I can easily use my FSA card with no issues. Even to buy the eye drops I need. I so badly wanted to like this place... the reviews were awesome so we gave it a try. Let me start by saying that Rachael and Fred (their dog) were amazing to us. However, I felt like everything we did was trying to squeeze more money out of us. I was told there was a possibility I could have glaucoma so I needed a further evaluation. When I went in for the appointment they were running over an hour behind. For myself, I had my glaucoma testing on a Thursday and was supposed to receive a call from the dr on Saturday. I called on Saturday after I didn't hear back and was told he would call at the end of the day. I still had not heard anything from the dr by the following Tuesday, so I called and when he finally returned my call he blamed his staff for the delay saying that no one told him I called. Not only was the wait to receive contact lenses over two weeks when we were told a few days... but my husband received the wrong contact prescription. When he called to tell them it was wrong, they said the correct one would be in on Monday which was 4 days out. He spoke to the owners wife over the phone, Carrol, who at the time was extremely apologetic. When we went to pick up the correct lenses he was told there will be a $45 charge. When he asked what the charge was for, suddenly Carrol was extremely rude to my husband and blamed him for the wrong contacts. He asked her why it would be his fault and then she changed her story saying they didn't charge him enough. He told her he wouldn't be coming back and she said sarcastically said, "sorry you feel that way." She was incredibly rude. Do not blame your staff to your customers and do not blame your customers for your mistakes. Take ownership! read more

You win some you lose some! This one was a loss. For us.... Our money and time have been wasted. We are teachers who get our eyes examined annually. Above and beyond our insurance Optomotrist will charge a $10 fee to dislate and view the back of they eye. This place charges $50. The next up charges come with each add on to lenses. Yes we get lenses every year, so we understand this cost more..... but here there are several levels of each upgrade. Oh you want transitions do you want them to be a low grade or mid or higher? Do you want progressives? There are 5 levels. Yes I'm sure there are different qualities in all of this, but all in all my lenses were over a hundred dollars more than the last 2 places we went. I have to say I think the Dr did a great exam, took her time and understood the prescription. We would take that prescription elsewhere if it weren't for the $50 eye exam. read more

We use Bear Creek eye care for the first time about two months ago. Have of their staff is really nice, but the other half have an attitude. We but 4 pair of glasses "brand name" 2 pairs broke within the first two weeks, my wife pair lost a screw, it was supposedly a special screw it took about 4 weeks to get them fix, and my son's frame came undone, we submitted a warranty claim 6 weeks ago, and they can't even tell me how much longer it's going to be before they can replace them with the warranty. I am going to have to go somewhere else and purchase another set of glasses for him, because he is walking around half blind. My husband found this place online.. long story short my daughter needed glasses. came back to week to pick them up.. They just said o.k put them on ahead and shake your head "like a Dog" make sure they don't fall off they aren't loose o.k you are good to go. was REALLY??? They was no further testing to make sure that the glasses were accurately right for her vision and compare or do a test with the new glasses on vz with no glasses on. never been to place where they just hand you glasses with out doing an after eye exam with the new glasses. came back again and Dr. took 5 secs.. and said NO we don't do recheck.. the machine knows the right adjustments when we did the initial eye exam thats it.. you're Good. shaking my head.. Terrible experience trying to set up an appointment as a first time customer. My hubby went in a few weeks ago so I was ready to get our family on board. Wanted to get in same day for evaluation for a child having eye irritation, plus eye exam if they could accommodate. They had an appointment for evaluation, but not for full eye exam. Ok, no problem. I just need the irritation solved, please ... can come back in a few days for exam. But then total run around about pricing and inappropriate frustration over my asking for clarity on the prices I was given ($100 -250 today for irritation evaluation or $170 for eye exam in three days that can also address the irritation issue). Dr. Chen is a very thorough and knowledgeable doctor. I am a special case. I have to take steroid eye drops long term because of a complication I had from a LASIK type procedure (PRK) and she helps me to manage the side effects from the medication. Bear Creek has extensive dry eye treatments including TearCare. They also have advanced glaucoma tests including OCT and Visual Fields test. I came in to get a new prescription for glasses and contacts. The price for the contact fitting was very affordable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My only issue was that my eyes were dilated and I was not warned how it would affect my ability to drive home after the appointment. I had a bad time having to stop for a while before continuing. They also did not advise me on how long to wait before putting in the contacts. I tried to put them on 2 hrs after I got home and they irritated me too much to keep wearing them, had to throw out. Not loving the dailies as much as my usual long wear contacts at all, but that's more a personal issue. Overall great facility great doctor.
