I am so glad I chose Promenade Optometry. I found them on the VSP portal through my employer. They had a cancellation and was able to take me in for a full evaluation same day I called. Parking is great and if you have any issues on your map guide, just call and they will help you get to the office. I walked in and was seen by Dr Daniel. He was very professional and patient. He made sure that the eye examination went well so that I would get the right proscription. In less than an hour, I had script in hand and ready to take on my new eyeglasses. The staff was great and I was appointed to Payton. She was very helpful on assisting me with the right pair of glasses. No pressure at all and she also assisted me on how to maximize my benefits. Fast and painless experience. Dr. Pat talks you through the entire procedure while you're getting lasik so you're never "left in the dark" ha ha. Procedure from start to finish was less than 10 minutes and pain free. Best way I can describe it is it's similar to looking into a light bulb while your eye sight is getting fixed. Amazing & extremely friendly staff. Two of my kids & I went to do LASIK here. I even got one of my best friends to do it with me on the same day together for moral support. My kids did theirs a few weeks before us. We saw how quick & easy everything went for them so we decided to follow them a few weeks later. My kids said their experience was pain free & they healed up real fast with no issues. They were even driving to school & work the next day. My friend and I did our lasik this Monday. We were both so nervous & scared. Dr. Pat was amazing in answering all our questions and putting our worries at ease. The process was literally 3 minutes per each eye. So fast. They let your family watch the whole time & they talk you thru the whole process helping you to calm down & relax. I'm not gonna lie, I was probably their hardest patient and was anxious as heck. But they were just amazing the whole time, & was very gentle & patient with me. Dr. Pat even gives you his number in case you have any questions, and makes himself available any time. All the staffs are nice and welcoming when you walk in front of the door. They have a nice waiting area for coffee and some sweets. Dr. Pat was extremely friendly and making sure he goes over all the questions i had in mind. He was so confident and assuring that I didn't hesitate to do Lasik . Totally recommending this place for Lasik or any optometry related! The Lasik procedure only took 5 min or less. It was painless and fast. The staffs in the room were very encouraging and made me so comfortable that i was not even nervous for a bit. Dr. Pat was making sure he vocalize each procedure like "okay its gonna be blurry.... Here we go.... Counting down 7.....6.....5..... good job! " I wished i would have known and do it sooner. My recovery was amazing. Did the Lasik procedure at 10:30am and come home 10:45am . Slept until 3:30pm and my vision was so clear already! I didn't feel the need for eyedrops or prescription antibiotics. But I had a follow up appt with Dr. Pat the next day and he reminds me to make sure i use the eyedrops and the antibiotics drops. I wished i can give this place a 10 star. Got lasik here a few years ago and I couldn't be happier. The process: Called to see if I qualified for lasik on Wednesday, had my appointment Friday, lasik done on Monday and BOOM clear vision. I felt like spiderman. A few weeks after lasik I got a piece of metal in my eye. I freaked out a bit but called the Dr. He fit me in immediately and checked to make sure healing was going well! And he got the metal out. I have had friends tell me about their lasik experience and mine was MUCH better than any other I've heard of. I also love that the Dr. was clear that he takes his education on lasik seriously and is always up to date on how to be better. He also makes sure his equipment is the best! I'll start with the positive. The office is clean and everyone was extremely nice. I also loved that they were able to get me in quickly as a walk-in. Minus 3 stars because they told me the pain in my right eye was due to allergies and recommended eye drops. Pain continued and my eye became puffy. I met with Dr Bree Alexander for a complimentary Lasik consult . The pros and cons : Pros- I appreciate her honesty regarding my not being a good candidate for Lasik. Cons: she said I will need cataract surgery in approximately 4 years and they don't do cataract surgery. Ugh! So now I'm researching about cataract surgery cost , various procedures available- there are many- does insurance cover all or any of it etc. etc. I will be visiting Dr. Alexander again for a full Eye Exam for prescription eyeglasses because she was so candid to me as a patient. Life changing experience. I've waited a couple months to write this review so that I could gather as many data points as possible. I write this review in November, two months after receiving the surgery. Since that time I've had the opportunity to backpack Mammoth, camp in Big Bear, run a half marathon, and travel for business. These activities were all far more difficult and uncomfortable when I required contacts or glasses. Despite my care, camping and traveling always seemed to agitate my eyes from dirt when removing contacts or dry eyes from the air pressurized cabins. I realize these may seem small, but comfort and convenience has really been life changing. Beyond the aforementioned luxuries, there is the obvious result; my vision is better than I can ever remember. I feel like I can see through walls! Driving, reading, working, exercise, etc have all been improved beyond expectations. I've needed glasses since middle school, and now I have 20-15 vision. Regarding the surgery, it's hilarious that I was at all nervous. Not only is Dr. Pat and his family extremely professional and kind, but also, their facility seems state of the art. I believe the actual procedure was less than 4 mins per eye, and in my experience, completely painless. There was some slight pressure from holding the device that held my eye open, but by no means was this painful at all. No needles, no scalpel wielding doctor. I ACTUALLY LAUGHED DURING THE PROCEDURE after the first eye was complete because of how easy it was. After the surgery, you do need to sleep for a day, which I found easy with the help of a one day prescription. However, even that day, when I woke for dinner, I knew my life had changed. When I took off my goggles and looked outside, I literally couldn't believe my eyes. Beyond that, you take eye drops for a week, wear goggles when you sleep for a couple days and check in a couple days later with the doctor. Absolutely no recovery pain and the results are immediate. I drove to work the next day and travelled for business the following week. If you're reading this and on the fence, go in and get a consult. It's free. In my case, I had two, over the course of a year. If you can afford the procedure, it's worth every penny. It was quick but efficient and helped me a bunch. I got to pick up my glasses a week later. They also sent me multiple texts and calls about my appointment leading up to it which is great for my memory. My insurance is VSP and it paid for a good chunk of my glasses as well! read more

I had Lasik in January at Promenade Optometry and had a great experience from start to finish. Krystina, the surgical coordinator, is knowledgeable and kind and immediately puts you at ease with your very first interaction. Dr. Utnehmer is incredibly informative and continues to allay any remaining misgivings you might have about Lasik. On the day of surgery, Drs. Utnehmer & Siems make sure you are comfortable and calm before the procedure, which is surprisingly quick, easy, and painless. Multiple follow-ups are scheduled to make sure everything is healing as expected, and I even received a couple special treats after the initial post-op appointment. Although my eyesight wasn't terrible before Lasik, I noticed immediate improvement in my distance vision and can now drive and watch TV without glasses! I went to two places for a consultation before I decided on this one and I'm not one to shop around but hello...it was for my eyes. Krystina was so sweet and informative from the first time we met. I felt so much more comfortable with this office versus the last two I had visited. The day of the surgery I hadn't met Dr.Siems but he carried out the procedure seamlessly (pun intended). Prior to the operation day I had met with Dr.Pat and he knew how I my vision made me feel from the time I woke up in the morning without me having to even explain and how to fix it.
