The check-in experience was excellent! We had a ton of questions and they were all answered verbally and, in most cases, in writing. We loved learning that the in-door pool opened at 7am. Plenty early enough for us to still get on the road early for a leisurely drive through the Grand Teton in the morning. Our room was nice. Since we are elderly and our room was on the second floor (no elevator) , it was very convenient to have a room close to the stairs. We were amazed that there were no USB ports at all in our room. Who doesn't provide USB ports? The front desk staff were very helpful in providing information on nearby businesses where we could buy USB charging ports for our iPhone charging cables and our portable batteries. We enjoyed all the other amenities in our room. We loved the facilities themselves. The restaurant was outstanding! We were greeted enthusiastically as soon as we crossed the threshold. Our server, Jamie, was superb in every way--her demeanor, her knowledge of the food items, her interest in the fact that this is our "Birthday Road Trip" and her quality service. We are so glad Jamie raved about the Huckleberry lemonade and encouraged us to try it. That lemonade was delicious! The food was outstanding ! The portions were so large, as much as we hated to, we couldn't finish those huge steaks or all of the corn appetizer. The garlic mashed potatoes and garlic beans were delicious. What was especially beautiful about the beans is that they were cooked just right. Jamie served us bread with what she explained is their signature whipped mascarpone cream with honey . It was so very good. We loved being in the restaurant and lingered after our dinner. We loved the ambiance, the service (Jamie helped us celebrate our birthdays), the music playing in the background, the room temperature and the fire burning in the fireplace. We had our Christmas party here this year and everything was beyond excellent! The servers and bartender were incredible--friendly, attentive, and they never missed a thing while serving 25+ people. They even had other guests in the restaurant area to take care of, and still gave us exceptional service. The lounge was decorated so beautifully for Christmas, which took all the stress off of me and made the night feel extra special. Extremely unpleasant and borderline harassing experience at this hotel. We had made a reservation through Booking.com, paid, checked in, and were accommodated in our room. However, when we tried to park our car at the hotel parking lot, we couldn't find any available space. At the same time, one of the hotel guests parked his single car using four parking lots simultaneously. We addressed this issue to the hotel staff, who was very responsive but unfortunately couldn't help us. So they had to call the hotel manager, who unfortunately was completely the opposite. The manager refused to handle the issue, refused to ask the guest who improperly parked his car to re-park it, told us that the parking was our problem, and offered us to park our car somewhere else and walk back to the hotel. At the end, the manager just canceled our reservation on their own and called the police on us, requesting that they remove us from the hotel property. We were escorted by the police officers who drove us to a nearby hotel. This was perhaps the worst experience I've ever had. I strongly believe that people who treat their customers that way shouldn't be in the business. I strongly advise anyone considering staying at this hotel to avoid it. read more

Hotel check-in/check out was very pleasant; the ladies behind the desk were amazing! Very comfortable room. Spacious, clean and well appointed. The restaurant experience was good, not great. The salmon entree described as "oven roasted" was actually fried (submerged in oil) and looked NOTHING like the picture in the online menu. That said, it was tasty and I finished the fish. The garlic mashed potatoes were not too garlicky. The waitstaff were a bit harried as most of the patrons were older folks that seemed to be a bit demanding. Just as promised by my wife, we went back, and once again, they absolutely delivered. This time we all went for the lobster mac and cheese... except for one of us, who had the lobster pasta with homemade squid pasta (and yes, it was just as incredible as it sounds). This is a nice spot. Rolling back from Sturgis, it was a decent place to lay your head down. The grounds are really nice. Lots of trees, flowers, well maintained. Right on the river which was pretty low, nice, nonetheless. The rooms... meh.... The carpets were dirty. My buddy got a room and said it looked like a murder scene on the floor. My room wasn't as bad but pretty bad. Went to the indoor pool and it was freezing. The Sheetrock was unfinished on the walls which was weird. It was all hung but no tape or texture. Don't know what that was about. The hot tub turned into a bubble bath when we hit the jets. The chlorine was so strong it made our eyes burn, hence the foam. It was pretty expensive too. Especially for a weekday. They first told us there were only three rooms left so we were lucky. Then someone else came in and they told them there were five rooms left. As we walked the property there were no cars there so I don't know what was up. It's good for Alpine, but let's work on the prices! read more

The restaurant inside is under new management with a new chef. The food is excellent and our waiter, Tyler, was so kind and welcoming. We have been here 3 times now, so I am well overdue for a review. We have had nothing but excellent food and service each time. The new Chef is Amazing. The room was nice, cool and clean. Also liked having a refrigerator, when we are on a road trip. We settled but we're disappointed that we arrived on a day when the dining room was closed. However we found somewhere else to get a bite and came back to the little shop, bought some local cold brews and sat on one of the 2 person swings out back, enjoying the view, the breeze and watching the moon come up. Very relaxing after having been in the car as long as we were that day. Breakfast the next morning was in the dining room but reserved signs were on all the tables and even an hour after being open for breakfast, most of the lights were still off. The selection was limited to prepackaged pastry and bagels, coffee and juice, and just a couple other items. It was enough to drive off and not feel empty but even understanding COVID concerns, was not very welcoming. The grounds are beautifully kept up and there are tennis courts, pool and I think a sauna. It's not likely that we will be in that area again soon but we would probably stay again, after checking on the status of amenities, esp the dining room and breakfast service issues. read more

I stayed here with my mom and my cat. The room was excellent, the night manager and employee at the front desk were both friendly and helpful. We went to the complimentary breakfast this morning at 9:45, and the hotel manager acted extremely rude to us and another couple. She loudly told an employee that breakfast ends at 10 am. She proceeded to start slamming things as she put them away. Later on when my mom was checking out, she questioned us about our cat. She said the maintenance man saw us with him and asked us if we told anyone. We paid a 50 dollar fee and obviously disclosed this when we checked in, but she came off as suspicious of us. She was very rude to my mom and could have just looked up the information herself, but chose to interrogate her multiple times about him and talk down to her. This was our first time eating a meal at the Flying Saddle and now I wonder what took us so long?! We arrived right as they opened and unfortunately we did not have reservations, we didn't know that we'd need them, but they did have room for us in the lounge which was perfectly fine. In the lounge we were greeted quickly and our drinks were retrieved. I ordered a strawberry daiquiri and I was happily surprised by the amount of alcohol in it. You could definitely taste the rum, they did not skimp. My husband ordered the rib eye and I ordered the chicken parmesan. Our meals came with soup or salad, we got one of each, but I upgraded mine to the homemade clam chowder and I am glad I did, it was very creamy, with lots of clans in it. The house bread tasted fine, but it was pretty tough unfortunately. When our meals came we were surprised by the large portions. Neither one of us could finish our food and took at least half of it home. The steak was tender and flavorful. The peppercorn butter was a nice touch. My chicken parmesan was delicious, great sauce, and the pasta looked homemade too. For dessert we had the raspberry cheesecake which we shared and it was creamy and the raspberry sauce was very good. Stayed three nights at The Flying Saddle Resort.  The Lobby is very comfortable and inviting.  The setting along the Snake River made for very relaxing evenings.  For the price, and the proximity to Jackson Hole and the Grand Tetons, I would highly recommend The Flying Saddle Resort. The amenities are great they have a restaurant an liquor store on the premises. The pool anchor tub, we fantastic they have tennis courts and a basketball court. We stayed here on our way to Tetons. It has the most awesome Western decor I've seen in a while! Paintings, bronze statues, and animal heads all over in the reception room and restaurant. They have their own Art gallery and convenience store. The rooms were just ok, not luxurious, actually a bit dated. When the bathroom door is open, you cannot use the sink or toilet because it takes up all the space in there. We had a balcony overlooking the river, but you cannot see the river because it is 20 feet down a rocky embankment. The grounds are beautifully kept with grass, flowers, and waterfall. We did not use the pool. We had dinner outdoors next to flowers and a water feature; it was lovely! We had fried oysters and it was delicious. Breakfast consisted of cold bagels, fruit, coffee, etc. Overall, it was a good stay and my husband was excited that this place was so close to the river waves (Lunchcounter and Big Kahuna) that he wanted to see on the Snake River. read more
