The service was great, the waitress was very attentive. Tried the seafood gumbo first and it was great. The catfish etoufee I tried was good. Even had pecan pie with ice cream for dessert. Not a bad first visit. read more

I'm going to give a very simple review based upon my plate only. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with pickles only. However, the sandwich I received had all of the toppings on it. It did not appear that I had received grilled chicken, rather two small, flat pieces of probably what were once chicken tenderloins, with no grill marks on them, and they appeared and tasted very undercooked .Had I not been with a large group of friends that I haven't seen in a long time I likely would have demanded another plate or my money back. A plain grilled chicken sandwich should be easy for most restaurants to accommodate. read more

well its pretty hard to rate this place given im not from TEXAS i went on my vaca a few months ago and it was not anything special. it was ok though. i dont eat gator but i thought it was really cool they had the fried gator on the menu. it gave that texas feel. service was good too. the food was average .... we sat next to the door and the only thing i didnt like was they had a tray of desserts sitting there for show i guess. it made me NOT want to order dessert because the longer it sat there the worse it looked. DONT LOOSE UR TEXAS FEEL ! :] read more

I like gumbo so I tried a cup of seafood gumbo. It was not meant for human consumption. The WORST of the WORST. It was a cup of burnt black WATER with 2 tiny nasty shrimp. If I removed the 2 shrimp and you poured it through a strainer NOTHING would be in the strainer. And it was room temp at best and it was cold in there. Explained this to the waiter so he gave my wife a free desert but did not take it off of my check. I would not recommend this if you are starving to death. I have no idea how they get away with this. I have never came in worst the 2nd place in any gumbo cook off I have been. So I believe I know what I'm talking about. Some one needs to be fired before some one gets really sick. read more

Decent oysters on the half-shell in a pinch. Their crawfish is disappointing. Fun place to sit at the oyster bar and have some drinks. Stellar Bloody Mary. We liked the stuffed jalapeños - but beware, the spice creeps up on you. read more

Floyds is very good. Good fish, even things like the hamburger are really good. Gumbo is awesome! The bar area is very smoky often times which can detract from the meal if a lot of people are smoking and you eat at the bar but the food is very good. read more

I love their Cajun ceviche! Their tomato sauce in the ceviche has the best taste and they add pieces of crabmeat with fresh avocados! I'm not the biggest fan for Cajun crawfish but theirs taste pretty good compared to many places like Jackies Brickhouse. read more

We chose to place an order of 10 pounds of crawfish to-go.. Only for them to bag them up in styrofoam boxes and their usual brown paper to-go bags. We live 5 minutes away.. And when we got out of our brand new Jeep, picked up the bag to go inside, the entire bag ripped due to them over-packing the styrofoam containers and the overflow of juices that seeped through containers themselves... We know have crawfish juice SOAKED through our entire floorboards of our brand new Jeep. My pants are completely soaked. When I called to discuss this with the manager on duty, CLINT decided to tell us he didn't see how it was HIS fault and was a completely disrespectful CHILD to both of us over the phone. His solution? He wanted us to BAG UP THE CRAWFISH AND BRING ALL TEN POUNDS BACK UP TO THE RESTAURANT in order to refund us our money on the crawfish. Is this how you treat your customers?! I have NEVER, in all of the years I have been in the service industry, seen a "manager" treat patrons like Clint did. We will NOT be coming back to this location EVER again. It's going to cost $70 to get the smell out of our car and get it cleaned properly to remove the stains. He refunded our $70, but STILL didn't make it right because that $70 "refund" is now being spent on detailing our vehicle due to their negligence. Thanks for making it "right" Clint. You just lost a huge following at your location. read more

After a night of carousing south of town, a combination friend food and gumbo was in order, so we dropped in for lunch at this casual eatery. The bar area was filled with people drinking beer with lunch and enjoying golf on the telly. We were seated in the back and got right down to business by ordering the stuffed mushrooms that were excellent, followed by a dozen farm raised oysters that were a little above average. Next up was friend pickles that were lightly dusted and addictive. Moving right along with all had some seafood gumbo with an excellent roux, perfectly cooked rice and plenty of tender succulent seafood. I also had the grilled boudin link that was done just right and had a touch of sausage to boot. We finished with bbq crabs that were smallish but seasoned really well. This was a great lunch with friends and the service was polite but not intrusive. Great cajun comfort food and the menu is diverse enough for anyone's pallet. I look forward to getting back here, next time I am in the area. read more

This place is not good. The oysters are chewy and it has a very fishy taste. I don't know for a fact but it just seem like they fry everything in the same grease. After I tasted the oyster, I didn't even feel like eating the rest of my food. Half of the food that were served were already cold. Okras were hard. I dont understand all the good reviews. Will not return. I do not recommend this place. read more

Was craving seafood and wanted to watch the Astros so we decided to stop at Floyds on a Friday night. After a 20 minute wait we decided on a dozen of oysters on a half shell. The first four were okay however the remaining had a distinct flavor and the texture was out of the norm to the point half of them were left behind. For a main course we had the floyds seafood platter which left a lot to be desired - onion rings were bland basically everything fried was bland I'm thinking it was the batter but being a Cajun restaurant I was expecting more. The two oysters included in the platter were disgustingly chewy. The shrimps were good not gonna lie. The crab cake and frog leg were nothing special. Now the reason I am giving this place a one star is because of service .... now I understand and I'm well aware it's a casual restaurant but there's absolutely no reason why I should be having dinner and overhear the obnoxious waitress entertain the party next to me and yell out "stop being a p**** and pull your tampon out" (the party next to me was doing shots and she was delivering them). For goodness sakes adults and kids are feet away from this waitress trying to have a nice dinner and shouldn't have to hear things like this. To top this off our utensils were not even clean my fork had something hard stuck to it for what seems an eternity. read more

Floyds Seafood - Webster - Dirty fork, who knows how long this has been stuck on it but it was hard like a stone. - Cajun/Creole Near Me - Webster, Texas

My family (3 kids, 4 parents) will never eat here again. Staff and management were very polite and nice in explaining it was perfectly acceptable to have snails and mushrooms (a common allergen, but not listed as an ingredient) in my crawfish boil. All unheard of to me. I hadn't had crawfish boil in years and was highly disappointed in this costly, wasted experience. read more

Let me start off by saying that I was born and raised in south Louisiana and not only know what good Cajun food tastes like but I'm also a pretty damn good cook if I say so myself. That being said, I just moved to the Houston area from Louisiana and was looking for a good Cajun seafood place. A coworker told me about Floyd's so I gave it a try with some family members. I did some research before I went and saw some reviews about how some alleged Louisiana people claim that it was authentic Cajun food so I was optimistic. Boy was I wrong! First off... The place seemed ok when we got there. Nothing alarming.. Then, the waitress brings us some filthy menus. I literally had to flick food off of the table that was stuck on the menu and fell off once we opened them. No biggie though.. It happens. Then it's time to order our food.. I choose to try the boudin and also the chicken and sausage gumbo. The first thing the waitress asks is "Would you like your boudin grilled or blackened?". Seriously? What is blackened boudin? I chose the grilled.. The food came out fairly quickly and looked ok except for the fact that the gumbo looked really watery. I tried the boudin and it was actually ok. Not great.. but not bad. The gumbo was pretty much the same except it kinda tasted like it came from a box which would explain why it was so watery. Definitely not authentic. Now, here comes the fun part. Just as I finished tasting both dishes I looked to my right and saw the biggest cockroach I've ever seen heading straight for me. I immediately pushed my chair back and told everyone to drop their food. They soon realized why and jumped up from the table. We were standing there obviously upset about something while several employees just walked by and looked at us without even asking if there was a problem. I tried finding our waitress but couldn't find her. I finally grabbed the next waitress that came by and told her the situation. She told us that there was no manager there but she would go and get the bartender. No manager? Really? Anyway.. we hung around for a couple of minutes before going to look for the waitress. We found her laughing and joking around with some other people there and totally ignored us as we approached her. Finally, we decided to just walk out. Now my question is this.. If they have roaches that come out in broad daylight and are obviously not afraid of people then what kind of infestation do you think they have in the back where you can't see them? Also, why isn't there a manager on duty during dinner time? This place needs a major overhaul. STAY AWAY!! read more

Solid foot but sometimes spotty service. If their service was more up to par I would have given it a 4 star. Crawfish are good but I have had better. Chicken and sausage gumbo is excellent. I would go back. read more

New menu, higher prices. $17 for three catfish pieces and 8 hush hush puppies. Nothing else like french fries, coleslaw, bread. I don't think so. Lack of customers on a Friday night at 6:00 (even in the bar) tells me others agree. We won't be back. read more

Having grown up on cajun/creole food I am a bit of a stickler for good eats. My overall opinion of Floyd's was good but not great. I expected a much more authentic taste. I know this may be asking a lot but I feel like it's not unreasonable especially if a place bills itself as such. The pros: prompt, friendly service. Everyone was very nice and attentive. They really paid attention to the needs of the patrons. According to those who I dined with, the catfish was delicious (perfectly fried), the shrimp po-boy was great, the fries, hush puppies, slaw, all good. Now on to the cons, and it's a big one. I almost hate to say this because majority of the food was good however the dirty rice was awful! And I mean disgusting. I even asked others to taste the rice to make sure it wasn't just me but everyone agreed. First of all there was nothing authentic about it. Nothing. The rice had a nasty after taste, almost like a burnt pot or char or something. It was definitely a bummer. Like I hate that I ordered dirty rice, which for the record, I rarely eat from restaurants because many places don't get it right. Floyd's was no exception, in this category. Otherwise the experience was good. I might even return but I just won't order the dirty rice ever again. read more

food is ok....but mudbugs are great...if you go to the webster location eat outside on the deck! if you order mudbugs ask for Manuel style seasoning on them! read more

I have eaten here before and THE ONLY REASON I come here is for the Manuel style crawfish. So I decided to step out a little bit and got an order to go 2lbs of Manuel style crawfish, Da Half and Half, and a seafood salad. When walking in I noticed how the filthy the bar area and kitchen were. Ugh No gloves being worn, cooks aprons were filthy, and trash all over the floor (behind the bar and the kitchen). Once I arrived home with my food, my crawfish was not Manuel style :(. It was 5 min after 10pm so they were closed but I still called. I wanted my order remade. Collin accused me of trying to get free crawfish and said he wish it was something he could do but couldn't and the only thing he was able to do was give me a bottle of house sauce to make it "Manuel style" myself. lol It's funny now because i work in the hospitallity industry and I've heard horror stories but never have I experienced it first hand smh. The crawfish etoufee was disgusting!! What a waste of $60 and I even told him I could bring the crawfish back the next day. Do yourself a favor and go across the street to LA Crawfish read more

Just left Floyd's after taking the long drive from Galveston JUST TO EAT what I thought would be some good food. Took my mom out for her birthday a while back and she chose this place. Was my first time then. When we first got there we felt our waiter was a little impatient. Then he was never anywhere to be found. Ordered fried alligator for a appetizer and it was really good. The ONLY thing that was good. My husband got the catfish with okra and a salad and it he said it was only okay meaning below average. He isn't even a picky eater. He remembers it being different. The okra was beyond over fried and full of grease. I ordered a order of crawfish as spicy as possible, and the lafayette with crab fingers, half fried half sauteed like my mom had for her birthday with dirty rice and an order of fries. First, the crab fingers were not sauteed in the sauce. he interrupted when I was ordering and was like yeah grilled I know and when they came out they were wrong just like expected. Grilled with onion and both red and green bell peppers. More peppers than anything and it was NOT good only ate 1! Crawfish were of decent size but, flavorless. I had to use half container of crawfish salt on 1 lb of crawfish! Didn't bother ordering any more after that though they were cooked perfectly because I had my mind set on those delicious crab fingers I remember! Didn't really enjoy the rice, it was edible but a bit bland. Fries I knew would at least be right were super old greasy scraps of leftovers. NOTHING came out hot and fresh everything was light warm so was cold in minutes. My order was over $70 for an enjoyment of an order of alligator! Smh probably won't be back. Big and pregnant I got teary eyed and cried a bit at the table because my order SUCKED. Lol now I can laugh now that I'm at home full from whataburger! Something I should have got in the beginning! read more

although the sugarland location is closer to me, their food tends to be hit or miss and i don't care too much for their atmosphere. i've been here several times ,i've always gotten good service and my food has always been great (except i wish they would serve their gumbo hot versus warm). i recommend sharing the oysters Floyd and the oysters lafayette because they are really filling...and delicious! yes, there is a smoking area inside but i can't smell it when we're seated in the back. this place hits the spot after a long day in Galveston. read more

You can't go wrong if there's crab in it! Crab bisque and crab stuffed fried jalapeños are excellent. The crawfish are always flavorful as well as spicy and they make a pretty decent bloody Mary too. The food at this place was terrible!! They served my husband and I spoiled crab claws, gummy fried oysters, under-seasoned frog-legs, and cold green beans. Second time and last. Had the gumbo , chicken and sausage, broth was good but there was only a few strands of chicken and an over abundance of sausage. The bowl it was served in was small and a good portion of your gumbo ends up spilled. The grilled shrimp were butterflied which means they cook fast and are easily overlooked. Quess what was served, definitely tough and chewy. The oysters Parmesan were small, nickel to quarter size, so much Parmesan was used that formed a crust over the oyster so the cheese got cooked and the oyster was barely cooked the garlic butter was non existent. read more

I do not like Cajun or seafood, but my husband was dying to check it out so we went. On a Friday night, it was PACKED!! That's a good sign, but it took over an hour to be sat. We brought both of our kids without knowing what to expect, and wish we didn't because it was so loud we couldn't hear our waitress. When I hear Cajun I think spicy, and the food was just that. We started out with their hush puppies and those were awesome. Like I said before, I don't like seafood so I ordered a chicken sandwich and dirty rice. It was pretty good, my husband loved his dish. The restaurant had a very bar and grill type of vibe, that's why I wouldn't necessarily consider it kid-friendly, but it was inappropriate for kids. Our waitress wasn't anything to call home about, and the hostesses seemed young and clueless, but regardless, the food was good and hot, and it was everything my husband hoped it would be. read more

Great food and even better service. We've eaten at Floyds many times over the years since they have opened and have never once been disappointed. This was a truly disappointing evening for us. Both the food and the service was terribly lacking, and I'm sure we won't be back. For starters, both of our salads were served in a soggy puddle of water, and definitely wasn't fresh. My blackened catfish étouffée was so unbearably salty that I couldn't even eat all of it. It tasted of nothing but salt. The étouffée sauce seemed old and clumpy, like it had sat out for a very long time. My husband's crawfish linguini wasn't appetizing either. His crawfish was so over-fried and it also tasted old that he was also unable to finish his plate. We opted for dessert anyway, and ordered the molten lava cake. That was by far the most disgusting mistake! They actually microwaved it! This was supposed to be a nice restaurant, and they not only microwaved our food, but burnt it terribly, so it tasted horribly gross and I burned my mouth badly. Our waitress also spent the whole time either hiding in the kitchen, so that were constantly unable to flag her down, or rushed us through our meal and tossed our check at us before we even told her that were done. This evening was a nasty joke, and we will not be back. read more

9 of us came in to eat Sunday the 10th, and totally not what we expected. It was Awesome! The hostess (2 girls) were very sweet and inviting and told us it would take just a second to put our table together. 2 minutes later we were seated and greeted by a jolly fellow named Matt. He made us feel right at home . We were worried that becauae there were so many of us that we would not have great service but he definitely went above and beyond. Manager mike kept making rounds by our table and checking on us. He was funny and very polite. I watched him and he seemed to talk to all the tables. I've never seen a manger so involved with his guests. Our food seemed like it took a while to get but maybe that's because I was so hungry. It was so good that we all shared family style . The staff was very friendly, the manager was a breath of fresh air , the food was fantastic and when I come back in requesting Matt to take care of us again. !!! read more

Absolutely one of the worst experiences in recent memory of a restaurant in the Clear Lake area.Ordered a coke,a beer with a cold mug and a tea with three waters and got three teas with no water or beer.On the second try they brought out one water and a beer with no mug as requested. On the third try they finally got it right. The seafood fondue appetizer which should come out before the meal as requested came out cold and with the meal.We had to send it back to be reheated, probably in the microwave because when we got the appetizer back the bread was very hard and the fondue was steaming but the bowl was room temperature. After about two or three bites I got a surprise with a shell that I bit down on.The waitress finally came back to ask how things were and before I could answer she said the manager had taken it off the bill. The other person with us ordered a scallop dinner and was shorted two so they brought out the other two when she was almost done with her meal. They also brought her salad with the meal, not before as requested. The only somewhat positive was the crawfish that we ordered but there are other places around such as T-Bone- Toms that have much better crawfish at a lower price.I spoke with the manager about the issues after the meal as we were leaving and to his credit he did ask if I had a chipped tooth or any other problems. He also did apologize about the experience but that will not be enough for me to eat there again. read more
