It is unfortunate that I am sharing a somewhat negative review, but I think it is warranted given how I felt I was treated as a customer...after the fact. I ordered a bouquet of flowers to surprise my wife for our 30-year wedding anniversary. The arrangement was beautiful but by the next day pedals starting falling off the flowers. I asked Kim if she could provide replacement for the flowers that had pedals falling off. This was her response: Happy to refund you for the flower that's wilted to your daughter's Venmo. I don't do replacements. However, I take pride in knowing that my quality of work is always at the highest standard. I'm sorry if your not satisfied with the freshness of the flowers. Upon delivery they were accepted by you. But, flowers are organic and once delivered, it is out of our hands with what happens to them and the environment in which they are kept at. First of all, the flowers were not accepted by me because I was running an errand when it was delivered. Secondly, "the environment" in which we place bouquet of flowers is always on top of our kitchen table. I let her know that when I purchase flowers from other places, even like Safeway or Costco, none of the flowers wilt within the first week...which is why my wife and I were so surprised to see pedals on the table the next day. It felt as if she were blaming us for the wilted flowers instead of taking responsibility that maybe she did not use the most freshest assortment. I paid over $100 for the bouquet and she refunded me $4.6. I am not sure how she came up with that figure, but it certainly felt like a disrespectful gesture and not a very satisfying customer experience. read more

Kim was great at working with us and our budget. The start was a bit rough as she was not great at responding to messages and took ages to get back to us in the beginning. On the wedding day, my first wow moment was when the bride and bridesmaid bouquets were delivered, I fell in LOVE with my bouquet. It was absolutely lovely and more than what I dreamed it could be! My wife and I got married last April, and Kim was the most wonderful florist we could have ever asked for. She did such an amazing job of incorporating our ideas and created such beautiful work! And I just want to say: when you're putting on a big production like a wedding where a million things can go wrong- there is no one better to have in your corner! We wanted a hexagon arch with a eucalyptus garland but couldn't afford to buy an arch, so my father-in-law and I built one together, which seemed like a nice idea in theory. Well, the day of the wedding there were 40MPH winds and the arch collapsed right before the ceremony was about to start! Kim jumped in to help save the day! So glad she was there to help get it back up and to hide any defects with the garland placement. Not to mention, we really put the durability of all our floral arrangements and garlands to the test! I'm happy to report they all made it through the day with no issues despite a very blustery day! Thankfully Kim had warned us about this possible issue and was prepared. She went way above on beyond in helping us pull everything off! She was so flexible and patient with us throughout the planning process! I can't say enough about how great she was to work with. I happened to be at a wedding where I was in love with the wedding flora. Lo and behold, I was seated right next to the florist who was Kim, the talent behind Flowerstory! Kim was so friendly that we instantly clicked. Our first experience with Flowerstory was for our engagement session. She was very responsive and always quick to respond. I wanted a flower crown and she provided various options so that we could have something that worked for us and our budget. We discussed themes and the look that I wanted and she made me an epic ombre flower crown that was perfect for the shoot. Kim is truly talented! I've known Kim since high school, but I promise, I am not biased. She is honestly one of the best. I'm so happy that I hired her as our florist for both our engagement party and wedding. Through all of the wedding chaos, Kim remained a calm and supportive force--she met with me to go over my vision and was patient with me as that vision changed several times. My wedding planner fell sick during my mock table set-up and Kim jumped in and helped me pick out linens and tableware. She even met and coordinated with my calligraphy artist to build our seating chart. I wanted a specific fabric for my mandap (Indian ceremony arc) and Kim went and found it. Kim is a very talented florist and creates really beautiful works of art. She was recommended to us by our photographer who had a really good experience working with her for his wedding. I got quotes from several florists before deciding to go with her because I liked her work and her pricing was fair. She has a minimum but she was willing to be flexible if I didn't meet it. I ended up exceeding it since I realized in the planning process that the additional cost to have her help with items like candles rentals was worth it. Trust me, the wedding day is jam packed and you don't want to have to worry about any items you can get help with. The one thing I think could be improved is the communication. I had challenges getting timely responses in email though she was better with text. Day of wedding we had some communication gaps around arrival and delivery of items. We had expected getting detail flowers for the getting ready shots but they didn't arrive until after those photos were already taken and we noticed the boutonnières were missing at the first look so they were unfortunately missed in the getting ready shots. I'm not sure how that happened but it's one of those things it's good to make sure you, your florist, and day of coordinator are on the same page about and that someone (not you) is making sure all of the items are where they need to be when they need to be. That being said, those were small things considering all of the things that were happening that day. Kim and her assistant were both hard at work assembling the florals for our pergola and she was kind enough to stick around and help set up the cake topper and bring in the pergola florals to our head table which was an unexpected beautiful enhancement. I absolutely loved the succulent centerpieces and bouquets she did for us, really the quality and aesthetic are simply beautiful. Even days after the wedding I kept the pergola florals and detail flowers because they were too beautiful to just throw away and they brought back many wonderful memories of the day. read more
