It was a great way to break up the time between holidays. J.b.humble_pies popped up,& they delivered to my house in VA!! Almost no places in DC delivered to the end of the 95 interchanges. My pies arrived Sunday evening in preparation for Monday. Pies are available in various sizes from mini, personal, or family sizes. I ordered mini pies in these flavors: Apple Crumble Jerk Chicken Veggie BBQ Chicken Mac N Cheese S'mores I love apples, always trying new varieties. I introduced to Apple Crumble Pie about 8 years ago. I haven't had one in recent years because the last time I went on an Apple Pie eating spree, all of my clothes got really uncomfortable. Anyway, this pie has the crunchy sweetness of a streusel with the tart taste of warm apples. Jerk Chicken pie had a spicy, smoky heat, tender meat, & a flaky crust. They accommodated my request for a apple-cranberry pie, and I was really impressed that they remembered when I stopped by earlier today, 2 weeks afterwards. It's a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and there's a couple of fold-out tables and chairs for people to eat, chat, and observe. Worth checking out if you're in the area; the ridiculous Saturday traffic on Landover Road/Route 202 alone is worth avoiding to come here instead.

The owner should look up the law because she's way out of compliance: https://code.dccouncil.gov/us/dc/council/laws/23-187), but charge a 3% fee if you pay by credit card, which you are required to. They basically give you no option to avoid paying a fee. (In response to the owner's response below: They have a sign that says NO CASH, so is a customer supposed to believe they'll accept cash IF the customer has exact change, as the owner says they will? And if they do accept that cash, then they would, in fact, have cash on hand anyway, which undercuts her claim they have no cash on hand...but they don't because they have a sign that says NO CASH. Every other business in the community doesn't blame the city for their own non-compliant policies, as the owner does, and accepts cash in the same circumstances. Plenty of places are happy to take cash and prefer it, and it is required by DC law. I was surprised to see this NO CASH sign after emailing with the owner about it *a year and a half ago.* I walked right out when I saw the sign.) They also now have a self-serve bar which invites the spread of things like norovirus. There are no sneeze guards. They make it hard for me to support them even though I really have been trying to for years.
