There's a large parking lot provided for cars--about 2 blocks away, at 36th and Shepherd Streets. It's a short walk up a gradual hill, through a Mt. Rainier neighborhood, but sure beats parking on the street. Just look for the signs. This market can get busy however everyone is super polite. There's lots of picnic tables available. Sometimes there's live music, but there's always music. In fact, when the music is playing, the vendors can sell, but when the music stops, then the market is over. It's open for 4 hours only, Saturdays, 9 AM to 1 PM, and those hours do fly by. I almost hesitate to write about it (want to keep it to myself in a way) but do desire that it succeeds!

My favorite vendor at this market is Groff's Content Farm -- the meat is phenomenal! There's lots…read moreof variety -- pork, beef, chicken, turkey -- but my favorite is the lamb ... the flavor is outstanding. As is standard at farmers markets, all the meat is frozen which ensures that it hasn't sat around but was frozen immediately after it was butchered so it tastes fresh when defrosted. You can also buy chicken eggs and often duck eggs and a variety of prepared foods. I wish there was a listing of all the vendors at the market so I could give credit to the mushroom vendor and the pizza kit vendor. I bought the pizza kit last week, which for $20 includes 2 pizza dough bases, sauce and cheese. I added a pound of lightly sautéed ground lamb ($11) from Groff's, and portabella mushrooms (4 for $5, I used 1) sliced and sautéed for a few minutes in the pan from the lamb. It took 15 morning minutes to prepare, and 15 minutes to cook and it was the best pizza I've had in ages if I do say so myself! I froze the other one for a fast, delicious dinner on those nights I don't want to cook or go out. $16 per pizza was great value and 2 or slices would satisfy a lumberjack:). Update: the terrific pizza kits are from Tag Team Kitchen! Geoff's Content Farm meats are as fabulous as ever, and still my favorite place to buy meat and eggs anywhere else. In 2020, this farmers market conjures reminisces of a small county fair, with spectacular new vendors including Barbie's Doggie Bakery (specializing in chicken & cheese empanadas, blueberry and apple treats, even strawberry & banana frozen yogurt, all homemade, all for dogs); Tee Cee's Boutique (every other week selling comfortable, cotton and polyester, homemade masks for adults and kids and kids at heart, like my wife and me, with designs featuring crimson dragons, Pokémon, and critters of all kinds); and Grater Cater (a food truck selling the best grilled salmon I have ever tasted, along with green beans and Mac & Cheese for sides). May as well go to Whole Foods if you're going to pay that much for something and get guaranteed quality. I hadn't stopped there in a couple of years, this was my last time. I'll just wait for Sundays where there are more reputable vendors.

This is a small market with 2 shops for veggies and fruits 2 bakeries, a coffee shop and few…read moreothers. The bread sold at the bakery shop was really good. If you are in the university you can come out form your office on a weekday and buy some groceries and support local businesses. It's only open on Wednesday from 11:00-15:00. Make sure you go early so that u can get the fresh stuff. This market is not open all the year. By the way this market is located at 3900 Campus Dr, College Park.
