Flora was such a great find! I had the Queso Birria Tacos and they were perfectly crunchy, flavorful, and just the right amount of food. We also shared chips and guacamole -- super fresh and tasty. The margaritas were strong but still delicious, and the Albuelita Chai absolutely lived up to the hype! There's plenty of indoor seating and a nice patio area that would be great on a nice day. My only small complaint was that the tables were a bit tight, but it didn't take away from how much we enjoyed the meal. Overall, loved this place and will definitely be back! read more

I have been to Flora twice. The ambiance is chill and cute. The first time we went was for breakfast. The huevos rancheros were so good. Next time was for lunch. I had burrito grande and it was as big as my face and delicious. I hope they continue to grow, I am sure it is challenging with the street car construction. read more

This was my first dinner while in Omaha for work. I wasn't sure they were open because the entire road in front of them is under construction, but they were actually open. No one was in the restaurant when I walked in, but before I left, they were four other tables occupied. I think they were training a new server because I wasn't ready to order the first time they came to the table and then it took a while for someone to come back and take my order. I ended up trying the adobada quesadilla. It comes with rice and beans or you can have french fries. I got rice and beans, but they were both ice cold. Numerous servers just standing around talking and I asked for water about 3 times the 4th time I asked I finally got it but that was once we were already done eating. We were only checked up on once and also once we were done waiting to pay like I said no one came to check up on us while all the ladies were just talking amongst each other and ignoring us 10-15 mins after we were done eating then we finally got someone to come and ask if we were ready to pay. Service was great, and our waiter was friendly, attentive, and very sweet. Unfortunately, the food and drinks were disappointing. My friend ordered the strawberry matcha, and it was watered down. The ingredients didn't blend properly, leaving a clumpy residue throughout the drink. For her entrée, she ordered the pork tamales. The masa had very little flavor, and the pork was bland. Even after adding salt, it didn't improve the taste. I ordered the cookies and cream milkshake, but it tasted more like horchata than cookies and cream. My entrée was the birria plate with corn tortillas. It seemed like the birria had been made the day before and simply reheated. There were large chunks of grease floating on top, and there was honestly more grease than meat. The tortillas also seemed like they had been microwaved--they were hot on the outside but cold in the middle, making them tough to pull apart, with one side becoming hard and chewy. This place is not what it used to be when it first opened. It's disappointing to see the quality decline because we were really looking forward to our meal. read more

Great new addition to downtown, which has little to no breakfast options! They are actually open though for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner, we went for lunch! There was 1 server for the entire restaurant the day we went, I felt so bad she was hustling non stop, and it was pretty full when we walked in, the entire 1.5 hours we were there, and when we left! Which is definitely deserved because the food was so so good! I don't typically order Birra Tacos, but for some reason it was calling my name and they were amazing, the shells, the meat, the consommé, put together perfectly! My cousin loved her burrito that was the size of a small baby, she had to take half of it home! It was a short walk from my walk and I will definitely be bringing more lunch dates here in the future! read more

Such a cute place! We had already eaten that morning so we just went in for coffee but they were super helpful and very patient while we decided on drinks. The drinks we got were really good but especially the Abuelita latte which I got iced and it really took me back to the authentic Mexican hot chocolate so definitely recommend. This was my first time at Flora Cafe and it was SO CUTE! The only parking we could get was paid parking due to construction on the streets. 10/10 for the decor and quick service from staff. The horchata was thick and creamy and the matcha was very smooth. The chips with a choice of 3 dips were great, but I should have gone with pico instead of the watery salsa 8/10. The real star of the show was my Cazuelita Mexicana dish 100/10. I don't normally love breakfast food, but the tortillas, potatoes, meat, and eggs were so perfectly seasoned... this chef knows how to cook! Very limited menu and not accommodating for modifications with sauces for menu items. Ordered the house pomegranate margarita...hands down the worst margarita I've ever had. A wonderful place in the center of downtown Omaha! Holy cannoli, the service & food were top notch. The server was great and knowledgeable about what the best plates would be. I am very let down, l never go out to eat so this was a treat for me......except it wasn't. The food was so bland, my husband's food was so greasy that he got a stomachache after eating one taco. I give honest reviews, my opinion. But for $60 l was really hoping for better, service was mediocre, man l am so unhappy with this whole thing. Makes me not want to try new places. Sincerely upset. The bean dip was just refried beans popped in the middle of yellow cheese sauce, the breakfast burrito had no flavor at all. And the tacos were floppy and greasy, I'm pretty sure they were supposed to be crunchy so you could dip them into the sauce. Overall horrible food, horrible experience. Had the pleasure of trying out Flora Cafe this weekend and I was overall satisfied with my experience. The Abuelita Chai was my favorite item and surpassed my expectations. The Loaded Nachos were delicious, not soggy, and generously coated with toppings and the protein we added. The Sope was your typical Sope, not super dense and enjoyable. I added the salsas provided to add some more flavor. The Enchilada plate is better than most Mexican spots in my opinion but the red sauce lacked some flavoring for my personal preference. I did relatively enjoy the cheese, creama, and onions they used to top them off. Finally, the chimichanga is a larger portion size, satisfactory, and the carne asada was good. Had dinner with a group of friends there on a Thursday night around 6 pm. At first I was feeling really good about the place as the waitress was very friendly and welcoming. Then she kind of forgot about us. She took our order for drinks and apps and food all at once. Half the food came out, then the other half a few minutes later, then the drinks, and finally the appetizer of chips and salsa came out after asking for them three times. The main entrees were huge and delicious, the drinks were really good but the chips and salsa was bad. Chips were basically burnt and truly the worst chips I've ever had at a Mexican restaurant. Waitress was very pleasant and maybe the food/drink timing issues weren't her fault but I was very disappointed in how it all turned out.
