I had the best experience working with Robert Sherman from Floor Hut. Not only he's very knowledgeable about the products I felt very comfortable with his advice. To give you context we had to get wood floors and carpet installed, instead of trying to sell us the most expensive option he was very honest about qualities and tried to match the best carpet to our needs taking into account the amount of use the carpet was going to take. During the actual installation he was very accommodating of our schedule and most of all he kept us updated during the entire process. I'm talking about multiple calls/texts during the day. I'm talking about progress, he himself going to evaluate the work of his team, getting hands on if needed. Absolutely perfect - from the time we walked in the store to the installation. We have four kids and brought them to the store and was surprised that they had juices for them! Such a cool bonus. Robert was knowledgeable and helpful every step of the way and even called after installation to make sure we were happy with everything. The installers were courteous and worked hard. This is the second time we use floor hut. First time it was 10 years ago to place new carpets. This time it was to place floor wood. Danny is great and the installers are great as well. The original scheduled day for my install needed to be delayed because of a family emergency with the installer, so that was completely understandable and not a problem for me. We hired Floor Hut based on the positive reviews but was disappointed in the lack of professionalism that we experienced. We had engineered hardwoods in our home and had to replace all of the flooring due to a water heater leak. Danny was helpful in helping us choose flooring and setting up the project but it was the aftermath that turned the entire experience into a complete nightmare. When Danny came over to take measurements a couple weeks before, we had already begun moving the furniture to prep for the project. He told us not to worry about the furniture as the company would take care and move the big items. This was actually one of the main reasons why we went with Floor Hut as we thought this was a really helpful service and being parents to a newborn, every little bit of help was appreciated. We assumed that they would respect our furniture and were also told they would tape off the kitchen. We were told wouldn't have to be present during the days of tear down and installation as Danny would be checking in on the work crew throughout the day. After the first day of tear down, I returned to our home and found all of our furniture covered in dust, including our couches, my grandmother's piano, our dining room table that we eat off of, amongst other things. The kitchen was not taped off, the entire pantry was exposed to the construction mess, everything on the counter tops was caked in dust. I was horrified. Not to mention, the guest bathroom which we allowed the work crew to use was also trampled with floor debris as well as urine all over our floors. It was a complete lack of respect for our home and I was left in shock and tears. When we told Danny about what happened, he said he wasn't sure why the work crew didn't tape off the kitchen and because it was a construction zone, a "little dust" was to be expected. Being a project manager, I believe it is his responsibility to make sure that whatever promises he made should be carried through. Also, because they have done hundreds of these flooring installation projects, it would've been helpful to advise clients what to expect when it came to tear down and installation. Looking back, I wish they didn't offer us the service of moving our furniture. We would've just moved everything out of the house and taped off the kitchen ourselves. As a result of the mess, I had to deep clean our home three times, take out every single item in our home including all the items in our kitchen and pantry, our clothes in our dressers, everything that was in the closets, because every single inch of our home was covered in engineered hardwood dust. When I talked to Danny and the owner about our experience, all they kept saying was "it's a construction zone, a little dust is expected." I politely asked for some compensation to help cover the cleaning costs along with loss of materials during the project (that amounted to over $1000). We took responsibility for the majority of the mess but wanted them to take responsibility for the costs of not covering the kitchen and the couch as they promised. They offered us $150 and I had to sign a contract stating I wouldn't post any negative reviews and they would not be responsible for any damages. I told them to keep their money as I would rather share my honest experience so future clients are better prepared for their project. Looking back, I'm not sure why they wouldn't offer an extra service where they would cover furniture to prevent consturction debris from getting everywhere. We would've happily paid for that opposed to dealing with the headache we were left with. I gave them several opportunities to make this right seeing this is a service industry but unfortunately, they were more worried about getting their money than ensuring they had a happy customer. I will not be recommending them to anyone for any flooring projects and hope they learn to better communicate with future customers. I have attached photos for reference. read more

The sales part was fine and I liked that their pricing was all inclusive. There were no additional charges for pads or moving furniture or taking out and disposal of the old carpet. However, the installation service was not very professional. Although we set a date, they never gave me a time frame for when to expect them. I called to find out and had to leave messages which were never returned. When they did arrive, they were dressed sloppily with no identifying logos on the clothes or truck. The installers spoke very little English making communication difficult. Nor did they come prepared, needing to borrow a broom and dust pan. They also left all doors wide open letting out cool air and letting in mosquitos. Their pricing was comparable to other places and, if I were to do it again, I would probably use someone else. read more

We recently installed laminate floors in my fathers house. My son used Floor Hut several years ago for floors in his house and he recommended them for my fathers house. We went to there show room and the sales personnel helped us decide what type of floor would be best for my father, taking into consideration his life style, floor color preferences, and budget. We consulted Floor hut last month for a project of over 2000 sq ft of replacing carpet with engineered wood and luxury vinyl. The products recommended were very high quality and the suggestions provided were spot-on. We had researched and discussed with various installers before signing with Floor hut. It was clear they had vast experience with selling and installation. The pricing was very competitive and clear. Everything from contract, setting expectations, scheduling, logistics and procurement of material was very professional. Our project had unique requirements on installation. The sales part of the transaction was awesome. The salesman understood that due to a death in the family, we needed the carpet installed quickly (within 1.5 weeks); at least in the room for an orphaned preteen. He assured us that this would happen. Unfortunately, after the payment was processed, the speedy installation was no longer a priority to Floor Hut. Many reasons for not being able to make the date were given, from the carpet company's schedule in California to the five installations in front of ours - which was not mentioned beforehand (or we would have gone elsewhere). The day the carpet was installed was disastrous. We packed all the little things. The carpet installers disassembled furniture and moved it wherever. Some dowels on our guest room daybed were broken. I'm not sure if the structural integrity was affected because it's rarely used. The BlueRay player in our bedroom disappeared (leaving behind the cord and remote. Even an envelope containing death certificates went missing. We were rearranging furniture for weeks (since we're older and physically compromised. The installers pieced the carpet so that there were large amounts left over (enough perhaps for another job). All the rooms (including 2 12x12 rooms) were outlined with 6" wide strips, then the middle was filled in with a large piece. This method created a lot of left over carpet (rolled). Because we ordered the best quality, the piecing did not show after vacuuming a few times. When I requested the leftover carpet and reported the broken / missing items, the salesman assured us that the workers were dependable and that the extra carpet was negligible and was discarded. Our concerns were invalidated and we were dismissed. Although they verbally told us that our carpet was warrantied, we were not given and details or stipulations of the warranty. After researching similar manufacturer warranties for the same brand of carpet; I learned that professional cleaning of the carpet within certain timelines are required or the warranty is void. We were not given anything on the care of our carpet. Since the cost was shy of $5000, we will wait to have it redone by a more reputable company that informs consumers of how to protect their investments. We looked around at different flooring companies. While Floor Hut was not the least expensive, they did offer a better selection in the same price ranges. Mark came to our house with several different samples and price points. We selected Floor Hut for our hardwood floors because Mark was great and took the time to make sure we were happy with our selection. They did a great job during the installation, even put up dust barriers in our 25ft high family room. We had them take up tile and put down hardwood and we only had to clean dust one time. We were in a real bind as our contractor had disappeared but Danny and Floor Hut saved our schedule and even saved us some money. We had them put in a high grade wood laminate floor in our bedroom. We stopped in the store and picked out floors that we might be interested in. They came to our house, measured and brought samples of the floor we liked. We picked the floor and they came over two days later and installed it. It came out great and was so easy. It is actually considerably cheaper than using Home Depot and their installation services with much better service. read more

The sales person we worked with was great. With the exception of the master bedroom we have hand scraped hardwoods on our first floor. We decided to continue the hand scraped hard woods into our master bedroom. The flooring that Floor Hut added to our home looks awful. The woods feels like it is has not been finished, it feels like sandpaper. I have called Floor Hut a couple of times and have asked for someone to come out and look at my flooring. I was told someone will call me back - never heard from anyone. Each time I called I was told the same thing, but never heard from anyone. Had them install vinyl tile (wood look) floors- My fiancé asked them if the floors needed to "acclimatize" in the home prior to install - they replied that it did not. Flash forward one year- the tile has gapped as much as 1/4 to 1/2 inch and traps dirt and everything else in the gap. Floor Hut has offered to LET ME work with their distributor to get a "similar" product. Floor Hut won't even remove the faulty product. They will not even entertain the possibility of refunding my money (several thousand $--plus now removal and re-install cost for me) The owner will NOT even engage in the conversation- preferring that I work with Mark - who is apparently the store manager- and poor Mark can only do what the owner says. My fiancé has brought them a lot of business but even he is shaking his head at what a POOR customer experience this has been and neither of us will EVER do business with them again.
