This was a great experience. We needed carpet for two bedrooms downstairs. Popped into this store, instead of the nearby Home Depot, because honestly, I wanted to know why this store has been able to stay in business so long even though it's so close to a big box store. We were greeted by Steve, explained what we were looking for and we went home with some carpet samples. Nice & easy! No deposit needed by the way, like at other stores. My husband and I decided on the carpet. We called Steve & he came to our home to take measurements...and about two weeks later our carpet was installed. I am incredibly happy with the thorough, professional and excellent job done by the two carpet installers. they took very good care of the few pieces of furniture that I needed their help moving. They worked straight through, no breaks and finished in about 4-5 hours. They cleaned up, they vacuumed the area and made sure I looked at their work it before they left. The price we paid was very reasonable. It included taking the old carpet with them as well. Every person that I've encountered at the store is very kind, polite and professional. My only critique is I called the store on a Sunday to find out if our carpet had arrived, for installation on Wednesday. The person I spoke to said they would call me back on Monday to confirm. I did not get a call back. So I called on Tuesday to confirm that the carpet would be coming on Wednesday. The reason I wanted to confirm is it's a lot of prep work moving clothes out of closets, furniture and all of our stuff out of the way. And if for some reason the carpet was delayed that would help me with planning. Other than that, it was a great experience and I will definitely go back to this store for future needs. I had floors installed by Style Floors a year ago, and after paying $1400, their installer not only didn't do a carpet-to-tile transition, but didn't pull up the footboards before installation, so now all of the baseboards have grout on them. It doesn't look right. I had to escalate to get the carpet to tile transition done. Now that it has been done, I can feel tile separators (those little plus-shaped things) under the part of the carpet that was transitioned. Horrible work. read more

After 6 years of struggling with the quality of workmanship, materials and post-sale service, we are having to go to court and arbitration, at great expense to us. The flooring (hickory) is nothing but a paper-thin layer of wood-grained material attached to a pressed wood (think thinner than contact paper) which scratches and mars and deteriorates, almost immediately. (three weeks) If you drop any water on it, it will start to come up. (kitchen, laundry) In traffic areas (near doors), the wear is horrendous. This was not a cheap flooring but, after 5 visits by appraisers and evaluators, we have found that both the manufacturers (L&M) and the store is just a corporate collection of thieves and charlatans. About a year ago my husband became very frustrated by our ongoing process with Style Floors and posted a 1 star review on Yelp. Style Floors has asked me several times if I would change that review. I can't change my husbands post, but I can post a review of my own. I first visited Style Floors in the fall of 2014. I wanted to replace the inexpensive wood flooring and carpeting on the ground floor of my home. In addition I wanted to replace the $.99 a yard Home Depot carpet the prior home owner installed improperly on the stair case. I was clear in my needs, wood flooring that can take traffic , people and pets, and be refinish one time. I was extremely detailed about replacing the carpet on my staircase as the risers between stairs are tiled. The cheap carpet that was in place raveled and lifted where it met the tile, and I did not want that to happen with the new carpet. After two visits by SF staff to measure and look at the staircase, SF assured me they could install the new carpet with the tile riser without a problem. I chose a decent quality carpet with a 20 year warranty, was assured they could install it so that the carpet would not ravel where it met the tile. I chose L&M engineered wood flooring in hickory as SF told me that would be the most durable choice for my application. SF installed both the wood and carpet February 2015 June 2015 called SF as carpet on stairs was starting to lift and ravel, installer sent used a hammer and flat edge to pound the edge down. September 2015 mentioned that I noticed a couple small areas in wood knots that look like pieces of knot have broken off. Carpet is starting to ravel again and a corner on one of the stairs is loose. SF sends installer to pound down raveled edge again. Installer finds the corner is lifting because when the step was installed the piece of carpet was cut incorrectly and there was a three inch hole open under the tread. I gave the installer a large remnant of the original carpet to replace the entire piece but instead he cut a piece to fit the hole and stapled the patch into the hole with 8-10 staples. November 2015 meet with SF about the knots in wood floor as I'm seeing more problems appear. SF visits in December 2015 and says they have no idea will need to have regional rep come. Regional rep visits twice and tests flooring between December 2015 and February 2016. Determine they need an independent evaluation. Independent evaluation March 2016, results promised within a couple weeks. Results delivered May 2016. Determined it is a product issue, manufacturer wants to replace pieces only. August 2016, manufacturer decides on complete replacement of wood flooring September 2016 I meet with SF to choose a new L&M floor and contract with them to replace the kitchen floor when the rest of the flooring is replaced. Discussed carpet on stairs and was told they would do what it takes to make it right. Oct 2016 wood flooring replaced and kitchen wood installed, 10 days to install approximately 1500 sq feet. Oct 2016 Called SF back to replace thresholds one with wrong stain, the other was to be replaced with a single piece of wood rather that the two remnants used. Molding around fireplace had at least 3/8 inch gap at corner miters filled with un-sanded putty and covered with poorly matched stain, and numerous other install related issues. Nov 2016 return visit to do repairs missed in Oct. Showed installer several places on seams where I had used a damp cloth to determine if discoloration was glue, thin strips of the dark floor color had come off when wiped. Jan 2017 contacted SF to fix carpet on stairs, same issue, same solution. Now they are telling me its my fault because the tile, which is exactly the same as when they came to do the estimate, is not installed correctly to work with carpet. April 2017 contacted SF as the light colored spots on the wood seams are more noticeable. The installer arrived, angry, telling me none of this was the fault of his crews, it was all water damage (I haven't had a flood and I clean the floor to SF instructions with Bona) and the only option he could think of would be to mix stain and spot paint. I told him to go ahead and try a few spots to see how it looked. He put the mixture on almost every spot and it looks like grease soaked into the wood. Lectured me on how the stairs carpet install is my fault. Today I still have marks on the "new" wood floor and the carpet on the stairs that they assured me they knew how to install is a mess. I've invested over $12,000 with Style Floors trusting them to be my subject matter expert in flooring. I accepted their guidance in choosing the best options for my home and found that was a gross mistake. I asked for a refund on the stairs so that I might hire another company do the job right and no response from them. Now I will have to call another company and invest another $2,000 to correct Style Floors mistakes. read more

We had Style Floors,Mckinney install carpet in our entire home. After a year and a month, the carpet upstairs starting buckling. I called Style Floors, but they informed me that the year warranty was out and they could not do anything for me? Bad customer service. Well, it's been 5 years since install. I thought I would write this review to warn others about the inaquadate installation process with Style Floors. EVERY room where they installed carpet is buckling. It looks terrible. We have an area of our home where nobody goes to and it is very bad. The carpet cleaners informed me that it looks like the carpet was not installed right or defective carpet.You can literally pick carpet up in the middle and it pulls up. It is like they used nothing to tact it down. Carpet install may look good in the beginning but long term it does not last. We had 10 year old carpet in our home, that was not buckled and looked a 100% better than what we have now. I am embarrassed to have people go upstairs. read more

(McKinney Location) Malek Aburabie is an outstanding representative for this company! He is very friendly and knowledgeable about all types of interior remodeling. We entered into a contract for them to install wood flooring and carpet. We then had to unfortunately cancel the agreement due to a possible relocation for work. Malek was extremely helpful in refunding our money even though the order had already been started. All of the employees were very helpful and patient. You can tell a lot about a business by what happens when you have to have a refund. We definitely recommend Style Floors to anyone needing any remodeling done in their house! Ask for Malek. I had my bathroom and master bedroom done last year and initially I loved it but after looking at it every day for the past year, not so much. I had carpet put in my master and a new vinyl floor, shower tile work, granite vanity top, seamless shower glass, and new shower floor with the vinyl flooring extending into my closet. It was replacing the builder's standard items so I was excited. Yeah...not so much anymore. Installation of the vanity top was not the best because whoever they were using wasn't good. The guys came back a few times and about a week after the project was done and I was putting stuff back under my vanity, I realized they used a piece of my baseboard to hold the sink up. The rest of it was done with regular wood pieces but apparently they ran out or were too lazy to go to the truck and get another piece. I was so sick of them by then, I just said forget it. But that explains why the guy did not have all of the baseboard pieces to put back in (this was not done the best either). The tile work is nice but I have noticed that with the settling, the grout has started to crack. Wasn't a problem with the 10 year old builder's stuff but within a few months, this did. I know I will need to have this all redone whenever I decide to sell the house but I kick myself everyday for this waste of money. I will say for the issues and delays I had during the project, the sales team was very helpful but the quality of work afterwards is a different story. read more

The installers did a fantastic job when laying the new tile and promptly fixed the very small few that were not completely leveled. While I agree with the July review with their staff being initially friendly and their prices being reasonable for a good product, I have had a horrible time with the install process. I'm a first time home-buyer and needed to get the "cat-infested" carpet out of my house as soon as possible due to allergies. I also wanted to seal the floor with primer after the tear out and before the install and they knew this from the beginning. I was given a time line that all the old, tack strips including, could be out, I would then have 24 hours to seal the floors before install and the new could be in right after the carpet came in which takes 3 to 5 days to receive. I received a phone call the day they put in the order for the carpet and was confirmed that same time line. Only then to be told that I was actually scheduled for the following week when no one was showing up to tear out the old carpet and I made a phone call to the store. Their defense was the carpet wasn't even coming in until over a week after the order was made and their install crews were slammed. Don't make promises you can't keep, especially when I needed it out as soon as possible! They did "squeeze" me in to at least get the old stuff out but had to do it in two trips to clean the glue and tack strips as I couldn't seal the floor in that condition which they then tried to charge me extra for, but they knew I needed to seal the floor from the beginning so extra "potential" charges should have been discussed then. I understand someone can't install carpet they don't have, but since they are so "slammed" I still have to wait four days after it comes in to be installed. What happened having it in within a week?!?! I also understand that mis-communications happen, but this has turned into a "he said/she said" and being a first time homeowner I feel taken advantage of. So crossing my fingers install happens on time and smoothly as the rest of my deliveries of furniture and such that are all pending on my carpet install goes smoothly. read more
