Massive warehouse is massive! The place had all sort of great ideas and samples to finally improve our lower levels of The Mausoleum with proper, clean tile and stone. Probably far bigger than many other places we went. Kiri (I believe her name was) assisted us on the proper choices to make, and had offered many samples of grout to even take home to compare to the project. I ordered vynyl planks from floor decor. They have a wide variety of vynyl planks. They also have titles, laminates and wood floors. They offer free design consultations. So if you need ideas or if you are not sure of what you want go for it. The staff was very friendly. However, we got some conflicting information about underlayment. She guided us through the store and steered us towards our ultimate tile purchases without pressure. We bought bathroom floor tile, shower wall tile, shower floor tile, stacked stone for a jetted tub and backsplash. They had all our selections in stock. A Gentlemen employee helped load our tile on carts. No waiting to check out and they helped load our tile in cat. It was totally worth the hour drive from our house. I have to say this was an amazing experience today. We were greeted right as we walked in the door by Lois Strope. She offered her assistance to make our experience even better and since we didn't know our way around we accepted. Knowledgeable about the product and gave us a number of useful points and perspectives regarding types of floors for our remodel. I liked the store, they have a very large selection. Seems like good products. The staff were courteous and helpful. This store would be a great choice if you plan to install flooring yourself. They have one company they recommend for installation and they suck. They were supposed to come out to measure at 10 am. At 10:30 I call them. 'Oh,sorry the guy is on another job an hour away he can't get to you". Gee thanks for not letting me know! They tell me they can get someone out at 2 pm. That woman called "my car broke down. I can come out at 5 pm, I'll definitely be there at 5". Never showed, no call. They never called me to apologize for wasting my entire day! Went into floor and decor on grand Street bought eight boxes of ledger stone unsealed obviously cause they never sell them sealed. Had to come back the next day for three more boxes to finish the project and after I put the ledger stone up I noticed that the boxes they sold me were sealed. I called the store they verified that all the SKUs and boxes were the exact same and that maybe a customer might have returned the sealed products. Now I have a fireplace that is two completely different tones an unhappy customer and a store that is unwilling to do anything to remedy the situation. I've been a contractor for 20+ years and I spent most of my business with Home Depot.I admit Home Depot has had some issues in the past but they have always taken care of me and the customer no matter what. Review update... Floor & Decor generally doesn't stock the tiles I'm interested in - they must be ordered, incurring freight charges. I'm not sure if that's a local or national shortcoming. I think local, but it's a widespread finding. In any event, this local store resolved an order problem quickly and painlessly, when the national customer service gave me wrong information and a very negative experience over the same issue. So, Thornton has poor inventory on hand, for my taste (typical, nationally), but their local customer support is fine. read more

I would give a ZERO if possible. I bought 2 grout pens that were supposed to be buff color, it came out sandstone red. I took them back and they refused to return the open one even though it was the wrong color. I spoke to the manager and he basically said too bad you opened it, even after I showed him the color mismatch. She could tell I was in dire need of help and she came up to me and asked if I needed anything, then spent the next hour or more with me making sure I got all the right products and even advised me on design. She suggested I got caulk to go with my grout and tile (I had no idea I needed caulk) and even matched the colors. I had an awesome experience at this store, found a good deal on some tile, but more importantly I found a helpful associate who was knowledgeable enough to answer any and every tough question I could throw at him. Wyatt went above and beyond in his service to help my son and I tackle a tile job with confidence. He had been an installer for years and didn't have a problem telling us the difference in mortar and the psi for each off the cuff, how to best tackle problem spots and all with a pleasant and courteous attitude. I live in Evergreen, Colorado, It was a bit of a trip to go to Thornton to look at a deal on some tile, worth it to find a guy like Wyatt to help. Not the Thornton location as a matter of fact the employees here would rather drive you away with no explanation as to why they cannot help you. He handled a special order for us requiring a search of all the Floor & Décor stores nationwide, contacting the one that had inventory, followed up with emails to keep on top of the order, and, when there was a problem at the other end, stayed on it to insure that we would receive the material when we had to have in order to maintain our installation schedule. The worst customer service I've encountered in a long time. I have been in the store twice and I should have learned from my first experience. While they have a very large selection of tile, if you actually want to buy some, be prepared to stand in line. Today's experience definitely decided for me to never go back. We were second in line on a rapidly growing check-out line. Not sure what the problem was with the customer ahead of me, but it seemed that we would be waiting for some time. I heard a page for additional support at checkout and two employees showed up one of whom I believe was the manager. Of course, neither approached one of the open registers to assist the one cashier and the customers waiting to check out. They just wandered off. We were so frustrated by the experience, that we just put our purchase down and walked out. read more
