    Float tank
    Christina O.

Found this place while at a conference in Riverside. Communication was great when I emailed some questions. The place was very clean and staff was sweet and engaging. I even did a tour of the other float options when I was done. I live pretty far but I want to go back and try the other float tanks and HOCATT machine! One suggestion would be to have a variety of tea. I really like hot tea after my float at a different place.

Pretty cool experience. The place is a very clean and simple set up. Went on a float with my wife and luckily they had both large pods available. The staff was super friendly and took the time to walk us through the whole process. We did not do the ice plunge or sauna but they looked nice. One thing I will say, I loved the showers before you float. Super powerful and loved that raining feature. Priced well enough to return as needed. Overall a pleasant experience, will return again.

awesome experience. clean facility. kind staff. Sucks that they're closing this location soon!

I really love this place! The environment, the staff, specially Louisa!! Always taking care of me. I did the mi they sauna challenge and noticed my HRV has improved. I also threw in a few cold plunges. The floats are amazing! Me and my daughter have done the floats and we both cried out first floats. Please go and enjoy, all while improving your health, mind, and body :)

Very relaxing ..seamless use of sauna, plunge pool, zero gravity floating pods...as well as showers. This place hits the spot ...any time of the week.

Used the special they have on their website for my first float. My review is a novice one since I'm not a frequent floater. Cleanliness--5 stars; very clean and everything had a label so you knew what to do. Customer Service--the guy at the front desk was very informative and showed me their Fire & Ice room (even though I was just there for float) and went over the before-during-after instructions. Room/Suite/pod--I was in Pod 5. Suite is private with a shower, bench to put belongings, and the essentials (Vaseline, ear plugs, etc). Instructions are also posted in the room. Again very clean and the environment was very relaxing. You don't have to be in complete darkness in the pod (though I would recommend to give it a try) if you feel anxious or claustrophobic. They provide a spray bottle in the pod incase you get saltwater on your face (bc it'll sting like hell) but did wish they provided small washcloths so that you can bring that in too. I didn't get any water on my face/eye but just an observation. Float experience--it took me 15-20min to "adjust", but after that, oh WOW, my body and mind seemed to separate and it was a really cool and relaxing experience. I left feeling VERY relaxed and refreshed. I would give yourself a 1.5 to 2 hour block of time. 15-20 beforehand to get yourself in the right mindset, then 20-30 minutes after the float to shower and relax. I would recommend giving float therapy a try. Go without expectation... and maybe read a few float therapy blogs beforehand.

Glad I finally went today! It was so peaceful and relaxing just floating around in silence. There's a nice shower inside to use before and after floating. There's also other amenities like ear plugs, vaseline to cover cuts and scrapes (not recommended to float when you have open wounds, I'd imagine it would be painful ), bodywash/shampoo/conditioner, hair dryer, lotion, q tips, contact lens cases and eyedrops. My skin felt really nice after. It didn't prune or anything. Can't wait to go back!

Upon my last visit, I was informed of the new contrast service. I have never cold plunged before. I regularly utilize the cryo tank at least 4 times a year, so I thought why not? I was a little nervous, but the contrast room has the perfect aesthetic, and the combination of the dry sauna and cold plunge was AMAZING! The cold plunge is not for the faint at heart, but after researching the many benefits, well worth it! After my session, I immediately felt the differences. My body is still reaping the benefits well in 48 hours. I floated first, then did the contrast. For me, my dream recovery and refocus services for mind, body, and spirit! Great job, Float State! My only small disappointment, I miss the old staff and their genuine rapport and personalities. When I came in, they new my name and I felt like family. Now, I just feel like a number. No one is rude or unpleasant, their body language and conversation is just low effort. There are a couple of individuals I know by name, but the enthusiasm isn't the same. Like I said, this is relatively small and by no means takes away from the experience.

As a family we'd visit The Spa throughout the late 80s and more frequently in the early to mid 90s. We also went there after the 90s but not as often. The last time I went there was around mid 2000. It was always memorable for us but very disappointing when they closed down for a very long time. We went there one time, hoping to enjoy the waters. But all we saw was flat ground where The Spa used to be. We inquired about other spa resorts but none compared to The Spa. I would call sometimes after they renovated the casino nearby to inquire if they would open a hot springs resort again. I was told that the waters were too sacred for the native Americans who own the land, so they would never rebuild a spa. My mom loved it there so much that we tried to find something that was even just a little bit as nice as The Spa in Palm Springs or Dessert Hot Springs. We never found a place like it. Sadly, I stopped inquiring and my mother passed away 2 years ago. I found out recently that they opened Séc-he in 2023, a year before my mother passed. So going there recently was bittersweet for me. I wish my mom had been able to enjoy it but it really doesn't matter since she's in a much better place anyway. I had a great experience there and didn't imagine how much nicer it was than I expected. Of course I was surprised by how much bigger Séc-he is than the previous Spa. I expected to have the same services as The Spa and almost didn't enter because of the price. It didn't make sense to me because I was thinking it was similar to The Spa. This renovated spa resort is much bigger and more interesting, aesthetically, than the previous one. The previous one was built in 1960 and while I liked the mid-century modern look, I like this a lot better. I was given a tour of the area and amenities before I began my journey there. I have been to the three top resorts in Japan, Harbin and Esalen in N. CA, and Beverly Hot Springs in L.A. Séc-he offers more amenities compared to all of those other hot springs and hot springs resorts. You really can't compare because Japanese love to replicate an atmosphere that's as natural as possible. And Esalen and Harbin are outdoor, with Esalen overlooking the Big Sur ocean high above. So it's a different experience and they're not as luxurious as Séc-he. I recommend the 15-minute private mineral bath that you have to reserve. It's one of the only features that was retained from the previous The Spa. You don't need more than 15 minutes because it's very hot. The floatation room was the highlight of my journey at Séc-he. It was my first experience doing that and it was amazing. After a while I didn't feel my body because of the relaxing atmosphere and the way you float effortlessly on the water. Your body is just inches away from the bottom but it feels like you're on a lake or on a calm ocean somewhere in the Caribbean. I highly suggest visiting the spa on a Monday because there's less people. I think Monday-Wednesday would be ideal. I have been to many spa resorts in CA throughout the years that have mineral or geothermal waters. Glenn Ivy and La Vida were our family's favorites but La Vida closed over 35 years ago and Glen Ivy only offers a small geothermal bath that is too small to appreciate because there are too many people using it. My parents used to go to them long before I was born. The only one that still exists in Los Angeles is Beverly Hot Springs but you're limited to 2 hours, which is necessary due to its size. Otherwise it would be crowded with too many people even on week days. If you seek out the best geothermal waters, Mercey Hot Springs would probably be among the best. But I recommend reading about the unique, natural method the geothermal waters are distributed at Séc-he. Because of the way the hot springs move around geologically, you get benefits from minerals that you won't derive from other hot springs. And this is something I immediately felt on my skin after going into the outdoor pool that's fed by geothermal waters. My skin felt like it had an oily, silky residue. The water in that pool is very soft. That's something to keep in mind if you're seeking the most beneficial geothermal waters because all hot springs aren't the same. I will definitely go there again and this time to enjoy cryotherapy.

There is a reason that Spa at Séc-he consistently ranks #1 in many of the rankings in CA and in the US. It is unreal. Not only is it huge, they have thought of literally everything. Re-imagined in 2018 and completely renovated between 2021-23, they re-opened in April 2023. But it's history of being a natural hot springs dates back more than 100 years. I'm not going to detail all the amenities - just browse their site and book some time there. PRO TIP #1: it's not a 1-hour treatment and done. Plan to spend 3-4 hours there, enjoying all the amenities and different areas. PRO TIP #2: booking a treatment includes a 15-minute soak in a personal, private mineral bath. These waters are 108 degrees and come directly from 1.5 miles below the earth surface. Very mineral-y, but I'm sure did wonders for my skin. Don't miss it. PRO TIP #3: if your a FT or PT resident, mention it on check-out, they offer a locals discount. ENJOY!
