Wow, first time here and will be coming back again! Best pancake in town! A real mom and pop breakfast place!

A real mom and pop breakfast place! I can say one of the best Pancakes in town! Definitely a place to come back over and over again.

Corn beef hash, crispy hash browns, and Sunnyside eggs.

Went during lunch time. Was a little packed at 11:30am on a Sunday. I recommend going a bit early. Black coffee and ice water was what I had to drink. I did sit at the bar and service is steady. The wait staff was friendly and checked on me. The corn beef hash was something I was craving, but something at home I would make from the can. lol I like it simple, but they did prepare it crispy along with the hash browns. The eggs were prepared perfectly to my preference as well. A place you can take someone after a Saturday night out on the town. If you don't want to sit at a table or booth, they have bar seats. A lot of veterans frequent this establishment and seem to know everyone around town. Which is pretty cool.

Love eating here with my mom, not only the foods, but also the family vibes. The service from the owner lady is excellent and she remembers what her customers love. To pancake lovers, I would say pancake is something simple but the pancakes here are absolutely delicious.

This small diner surprised me. I love the old school diner feel and to top it off, the food was comforting. It's good and the staff are so friendly. I would definitely be coming back again. It's you basic comfort breakfast food

This cozy diner vibe feels like you're in a movie.

Comfy and classic diner, with heartfelt service and a spectacularly vintage vibe. Biscuits and gravy were excellent, and the waitress is very generous with consistent warm-up coffee refills. If you appreciate good breakfast, the Giants, and a way-back-when experience from the 1980's, eat here.

Amazing new discovery since moving to Pinole. Amazing food. Great service. Perfect Sunday breakfast. Be forewarned- not a Dodger's-friendly venue!

"We just got back from breakfast. The pancakes were dynamite." - Cosmo Kramer, Seinfeld Da Scene: early morning out and about, looking for hashbrowns... my goto spot in Pinole has been dropping the ball lately, so Yelp! points me to Flippy's in Rodeo. 2 spot parking lot, but LOTS of street parking @ 7am. Lots of cozy booths, some 2 tops and 5 spot counter. Staff was masked, patrons varied. Seated, ordered and coffee'd quickly. Da Grub: Went with the Pork Chop (breaded & fried) 2 eggs over easy. You can opt for 3 pancakes instead of hashbrowns and toast... which I did since toast ain't my thing. But as I'm on a hashbrown oddesey, ordered a side of crispy goodness and was not disappointed. Eggs were fine, pork chop was crisp, moist and seasoned just right... save some pepper, didn't need to adjust the salt. Hashbrowns were as they should be: crisp (not burnt), but fluffy and tender inside... just what I've been looking for! TIP: Ask for the pancakes to come out last, and enjoy as a kind of breakfast dessert with your 3rd cup of coffee. Da Service: Super efficient, considering maybe 8 other tables, my server (owner?) was quick and topped my coffee off 3 times (luv that!). Food was expedited as asked and was piping hot when received. Folks at the counter were talking as old friends, customers leaving waved to other customers, definately a local spot, but I never felt like an outsider. I will check in on my old spot again sometime, but Flippy's has earned another visit (with the wife next time!) With their solid fare and great service... plus GREAT HASHBROWNS!!

I love going to Flippy's. Food is good. Good value. Really friendly people. Can't go wrong. I'd rather go here than Denny's or IHOP.

We arrived on time and at first we were sat down inside and we asked if we could move outside and at the girl said they didn't have anything, and then we asked possibly the manager/owner (didnt ask him who he was) but he did check and there was one table but it didn't have an umbrella which we were okay with. So, it was nice that we were able to sit outside on a nice day. We all ordered the unlimited mimosas which were nice. For our meals, we ordered the Chorizo hash Benedict, the Corn beef and hash Benedict, and the burger. The Corn Beef Benedict was good, the eggs cooked perfect, the corn beef was pretty good, and the potatoes were crispy like we like them. The Chorizo hash Benedict was also delicious, it wasn't greasy like some Chorizo can be, and the eggs also cooked perfect. The only thing it could have used was some more Hollandaise sauce on them all. There was very little amounts on them all. The burger was cooked perfect and it was also good. Mimosas made up for it. Our food came out in a good time frame and the service was also good.

The garlic bread was disappointing though, maybe it was because we came in an hour before closing on a holiday and staff and cooks were just ready to leave but overall we were satisfied with the food and service. I gave 3 stars because the garlic bread tasted like it was sitting out and was just reheated and also the energy of the place could be better. Nonetheless I'm confident I will update my review the next time I come from a 3 star to potential a 4 or 5!

Cabinets are broken, and floors need to be mopped. The service is slow. The drinking cups are old battered plastic blue cups (they use to be glass) and they bring them to a table of 4 stacked instead of placing them to each person. No drinks were refilled. The food.. The Pancake was real good! Everything else was blah. The server said "they can't season the food much due to a large all the old people that live in Pinole." If you can't season then you shouldn't serve Cajun food. My pregnant wife ordered Pork Chop and Eggs which she had to send back and luckily they removed it from our bill, it was so plain and under seasoned. All our food was really underwhelming. My parents said the grits were really good there but this time they tasted almost as bland as water. Their is reason to believe this place has switched ownership and it trying to save money. There use to be a line out the door and we came at 11:30am on a Sunday and there was only 5 tables occupied... This family owned and operated bakery has been serving the community for over 60 years, carrying on baking traditions that date back more than a century. Their famous buttermilk coffee cake recipe has been passed down through generations and is still made the old-fashioned way today. The baked goods are amazing, but what makes this place truly special is the family behind it. Everyone is incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely cares about their customers. You can feel the history, passion, and pride the moment you walk through the door. In a world of chain coffee shops and cookie cutter bakeries, this place is something rare. The history alone is worth a visit, but meeting the wonderful family who keeps this tradition alive is the cherry on top. A local treasure that deserves all the love and support it can get!
