Petty old swindlers! Multiple issues here! PLEASE READ : Priced higher than most, but don't buy into their swanky claim of "Benicia locals", they're not. Each unit that is not a drive up is extremely difficult to navigate to and load through the narrow walkways inside. Their "high security" on each individual unit is a joke as it is exposed wires and sensors externally that any 5-year old with a magnet could bypass. They are the only facility I have ever used where they require you as "part of your contract" to sign a 7-Day "Move Out Notice" in person before you are able to close out your contract and not be continually charged. HIGHWAY ROBBERY and extremely inconvenient, or perhaps not possible, if you are out of state or in the process of moving. They also force you to use their cheap inferior "Chateau" brand locks and require you to be issued 3 keys, which if you lose one, they charge you $5 each. ZERO STARS for the staff especially the overweight old man with the coke bottle glasses who looks like Jabba the Hut, and the short haired old man up front with glasses. I am a United States Veteran and refuse to be talked down to like a child (on multiple occasions), or with obscenities. YOU WORK AT A STORAGE FACILITY! For this reason I never had my wife come by the unit. I wish I would have read the reviews here before considering the trouble of using this facility when there are so many other choices in this field that allow you to use your own high security lock, move out when you want to without issues same day, have actual high security and monitoring or mobile apps, and most importantly ...have friendly staff. Eugene, the manager, rudely charged us with a late fee because his new computer system of November 2016, didn't automatically charge our credit card. We were out of the country and couldn't be reached when he phoned our business phone. So, Eugene says we are the blame. We wonder if he can figure out how to make his computer system function correctly next month. All of the customers in his storage facility were juked with the late fee. NEGATIVE STARS! I rented at $190 a month for FIVE years = $11,780.00 paid to Fleetview. I became $410.00 (two months + late fees) past due and THEY SOLD MY BELONGINGS! I received no notification and no telephone calls advising me that they intended to sell my personal items. Included were items belonging to my recently deceased mother. This was after one of their employee's approached me and said he would like to take my belongings "off my hands", which I politely declined. I had memories of my entire life and of my loved ones in that unit. I had high quality, high value furnishings, art, and personal items. Do I think it's a coincidence that this person saw my valuables, expressed interest in them and then they were "sold" after a five year business relationship with no notification??? Nope. My father had done business with the current on site manager for several years and the manager seemed like a respectable person that my father liked to chat with. My father recently passed and I had to pay for a family member's storage until they were settled so I met and spoke with this manager about once a month. Recently I spoke at length about the need for a good sized storage unit which wasn't too expensive. I informed him of the reason regarding having to move my mother in with me and she had many things and I had to hurry and get her out of her apartment because I now had a limited income and it was costing too much. He seemed sympathetic and drove me around to look at different units and put my name down to notify me when a good sized unit became available. The following month I came to pay the other bill and he informed me about the unit which might be available shortly. He drove me out to a better sized one and offered a deal which I agreed on. I was there for one hour talking with him and he seemed like such a helpful person. He called me two days ago to tell me that the man was moving out and he would have the place available the next day and I said great. I called a person who was going to come down from Clear Lake to help move my mother's things for free and she and her husband work and can't just take any day off. She agreed to come down within a few days after I got the unit. I work also and this day was the only day the two of us could arrange for moving my mother's things out. I also have to inform my mother's apartment manager and was preparing my place and my mother's place so my friends could quickly and efficiently help move her furniture. I also needed to get her out within a few weeks as paying her bills is draining what savings I have so being able to get this unit was imperative and the on site manager knew this. Well he called yesterday to let me know that the unit was cleared out and ready. I asked him what time he was closing and he said 4 pm. I told him I would be in before 4 pm. Certain things regarding my father's estate came up that morning which needed immediate attention but I got my sister (who was also on a list for a unit there) and went to Fleetview. Granted it was almost near closing time but we still had some time. When we went in he quickly said he had a 'bug' and couldn't talk and come back tomorrow. I didn't understand him at first but my sister said he said he wasn't feeling well and come back tomorrow. I noticed that he seemed agitated and I told him okay that I would call him tomorrow. He did not specify a certain time but just to come by tomorrow. The next day I got around and called him but only got an answer machine so I left a message that I was coming up. I had spent the previous night at my mother's home (she has Alzheimers and Osteoporosis) trying to get her to cooperate with packing and moving her home around. I didn't get home until after midnight and so woke up later but called the manager around 1 pm. Then I noticed that he left a message on my cell phone around 11 that morning. He said, "I'm sorry but a man came around and I gave him the unit. I'll put you on the list for another when it comes up." I thought I was hearing things at first. Needless to say I left a message chewing him out. I cannot comprehend the serious lack of customer service training this person has. I work in customer service and you NEVER treat a customer with such disrespect. NEVER! If I were ever to treat a client that way I would be fired before the day was over. If he would have called that morning to say that someone else was interested and do you still want it I could have responded but he never did this. I had been in the office several times before to pay my bill and he would be calling other potential customers to inform them of upcoming available units so I know he could have done this regarding me. That is what a person with real customer service experience would have done. It feels as if I were backstabbed especially given how friendly he seemed and willing to work with my situation. He does not keep his word. I understand that in business sometimes money is the bottom line but more importantly your customers are your bottom line. Without them you have nothing and if you piss them off when you do something unjustified then the consequences are you get a bad reputation as someone who cannot be trusted. I'm sorry to say that this is the impression this on site manager has left me with. I will never ever recommend such a shifty person who is untrustworthy and cannot keep his word. It is bad business. Needless to say I will definitely inform people to stay away from this person and this business until someone who is actually good with people and is better trained in customer care can be hired in place of the current manager. read more

I rented a space here several years ago, when Norm was alive! A little over a week ago, I decided to rent again. I was told a unit should be opening the following Wednesday at 1:00 PM! They would call when it became available! They didn't! I waited till Saturday before calling again. Once again, I was told a unit would be available at 1:00PM the following Wednesday. I said I would come by to look at it that afternoon. When I arrived around 1:30, Scott, the lone attendant, said I was supposed to be there at 11:00AM, and that Norm's son had waited till 11:30 and left. I asked him why I would make an appointment at 11:00 if the storage wasn't available till 1:00? Anyway, Scott showed me a couple of units and I said I would decide by the next day and contact them. When I called the following day, Scott told me only Norm's son could rent the space and never over the phone. I was busy Friday, so I said I would come over Saturday morning to sign the contract. I arrived a little after 11:00! While hiding safely behind the security fence, Norm's kid declared that he had the right to refuse me service, and he was refusing to rent me a space because I had missed three appointments. I can understand why the daughter runs the gym and the kid got the storage facility! In my humble opinion, this guy has NO business running anything! On the positive the place was clean and signing up for space was easy. THEN.... turned out to be very dishonest, petty and unprofessional. Informed office person of date of last day and was told ok. Then on day of move out we were asked if we signed the paper notifying them of our move out date and if not it would be an additional fee. Then $5.00 per key which they claimed they gave us 3 and in fact only gave us 2. Just to get the heck out of there we paid all additional fees saying we would bring in the 2nd key. Brought in 2nd key and they said "nope it's yours and we won't give you back the $5.00. Money spent was well worth learning that you DO NOT WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH THESE UNPROFESSIONAL PEOPLE no matter how reasonable their rates. read more

Great storage for the area. Up on a hill, not down in flood zone like nearby storage areas in the industrial park. It is always clean. Most of the people who work there are super friendly. The guy that is either the manager or the owner is old school probably former military and a hard ash, but once he gets to know you he is okay. The rates are reasonable. They have a good security system (other facilities have really poor systems). I've stored there for years; I've stored elsewhere, and this has been the best location in town. read more
