There were a TON of drink combinations to choose from on the menu. The owner was very sweet and gave us suggestions, let us take our time, and answered all of our questions. He suggested the bowls instead of bento box to get more food :). Food wise: great. The teriyaki chicken was yummy. I do wish sauce came on the side and not in the bowl because there was quite the puddle of sauce at the bottom. It was a runnier and lighter sauce than normal but still yummy. Tonkatsu was cooked well and a good meat to batter ratio. Sometimes places skimp out and give too much breading. The curry was tasty and had a nice kick to it! Drinks: SO MUCH DRINK. I was not expecting cups THIS big. Wow. Talk about bang for your buck with the food AND drinks! My bf got the mango passion fruit slush and it was heavy on the mango and the aftertaste always passion fruit. I got the white grape and lychee yogurt drink and it was good. The food is made fresh so it does take some time for the food to come out. I would have to say the price is high for the type of service. We sat outside, just regular outdoor chairs, and arranged our own table. I really love katsu and would say this is place is slightly better than average. I thought this was an actual sit down type of restaurant but it actually reminds me of being in Hawaii with just outdoor patio seating. You order in the front and pick a table, the owner will bring you your food. He's very nice and friendly. We ordered pork katsu sando which came with fries, spam and Tamago musubi and chicken katsu curry bowl. That bowl had an unexpected spice that doesn't actually hit you until a few chews in. Great place for a quick bite to eat with excellent service. I was pleasantly surprised at how great their shrimp tempura appetizer was. So much that I even asked the staff about it, and they explained how it's freshly battered and fried. Flavor Fusions took over the former Bento-Ya location. I didn't realize that this wasn't a dine in restaurant. It's reminiscent of Rainbow Drive-In on HI, you order at the window and take it to go. There are a few tables outside to dine at, so if you want to eat there, just find a table to sit at and the owner can bring your food to you. There are no restrooms so I had to drive my son and I somewhere else to find one to use, which is inconvenient. It's run by a Thai couple and they don't seem to have anyone else working there so food can take a while to prepare. Seems that they have a lot to take away orders, so he gave us a heads up that it would take at least 30 minutes for our food. The menu offers a variety of fun drinks, noodles, rice dishes, curries, and Katsu sandwiches (which I had to try). My kids and I started with the Tokyo Lemonade and Mango smoothie with boba. Drinks were good and came in these really tall, skinny cups. Boba was good, but all stuck together in chunks. We needed a spoon to dig out some of the boba. The straws they have suck. Literally. They are so thin that when you suck your drink, they suck up and collapse together so nothing comes thru. Katsu chicken sando was great. Chicken Katsu, cabbage, and sauce in between two slices of white bread with crispy fries. Chicken Katsu Curry - good, standard curry. Pork Katsu Bowl - my son said it was tasty, and he liked that there was egg on it. Chicken Teriyaki rice bowl was good, broccoli was fresh and crisp, but a bit on the plain side. We ended up dipping it in curry sauce from my other kids' bowl to flavor it up. Meals came with miso soup. It was tasty and had some black herb thing in it, not sure what it was. Stopped here for lunch at my HS reunion. It was a different place 40 years ago, and I am super glad for that! I asked the owner, another Arcadia HS graduate...but WAY after me, for a recommendation. He suggested the Katsu Curry, which is what I ordered. I was NOT disappointed! I ate on the covered patio, casual, but comfortable. The dish included 2 pieces of chicken katsu served over white rice, curry sauce along side, shredded cabbage, chopped ginger, and a side of miso soup. The chicken katsu was perfectly cooked, both juicy and super crunchy. The curry, which I am really picky about, was really flavorful with loads of umami richness and nicely spicy. There was a perfect amount of rice to absorb the remaining curry, and the shredded cabbage with ginger offered a nice textural and flavorful counterpoint to the rich curry. I definitely recommend this place for some fast, Japanese comfort food to-go or eat in if you're passing through Arcadia. I was full when I finished my meal and will certainly come back. There a vegetarian and vegan options if that's you're preference, so no reason to stay away. read more

The udon carbonara is not bad. You can get it with bacon or shrimp. The hubby said it's cheesy in every bite. For me, it's more soupy and slippery noodle than I'd expected (I was expecting creamier, but all good). The black roe gives it a fancy look. Chicken katsu don is pretty good too. You can choose the protein, we got chicken. I like saucy rice so I prefer this one. Not the juiciest chicken but they're not stingy with the meat and sauce is all over the rice, so it's all good. Food is overall not bad. Well portioned. Not gonna make you nap in the afternoon. They have outdoor seats only. Pretty casual place. Nice owners/staffs. You order through the window, take a seat, and they will bring the food out for you. No restroom. But it's closeby to the park. So if you can hold it for 5 minute, drive there. read more

Came here to support a friends car meet! I was so surprised to see that their menu consisted of classic Japanese dishes. They had so many unique options to choose from. I got the Hamburg curry because I hadn't had that in so long. The portion was huge which fit the price well. The Hamburg meat was also huge, I had to have a friend finish it. One thing in the meat though is that it was very tough. Traditional Japanese hamburg is made with bread crumb and egg which I am assuming they make theirs with just ground beef. The works here although it was super busy were so so nice. The place has their own parking lot so no need to worry about that. Very cute restaurant! I stopped by after a workout and tried their chicken katsu sando. It's a big sandwich and comes with fries. For $15, it's a good amount of food. The fries, in particular, were very crispy and satisfying. The chicken katsu sando had fluffy white bread, lots of crunchy cabbage, and a generous schmear of mayo. It was a bit of a heavy meal, but definitely hit the spot. They have a good variety of noodle and rice dishes too - I'll definitely have to come back and try more! $15 is the minimum to use credit card so if you're just coming for snacks or boba, please bring cash! Everyone was pretty friendly. They only have outdoor seating which is a bummer when it's not super nice out. I also didn't love the vibe of the businesses nearby. The owner was very friendly & the food came out pretty fast. There are many food options to choose from, such as curry, bento boxes, udon, yakisoba, sando sandwiches, sushi rolls, tempura, spam musubi, gyoza & donburi rice bowls. We enjoyed everything we ordered: oyakodon & katsu curry. Both had generous portions of meat & was very good. I don't understand the 4 star average rating on yelp but I thought everything was just ok here. I got a order of the katsu curry and I wouldn't get it again. It was a good portion of food I have to say. However, the pork was really dry and had lots of fat. The flavor of the curry was decent. The drinks however were really good but at $7 per drink it was so expensive. The drinks are really tall and I'd say they're about 24 oz. Maybe? I added an extra star for the drinks. The service was odd at first when we were ordering but at the end of our meal, the owner? came around to make sure we were ok. The food did take awhile to come out and I didn't think they were too busy. It seems like they make everything fresh to order which is why it took so long. Overall, I would come back for the drinks but one of the downsides is that they have a $15 card requirement. I also wasn't a fan of the ambiance because it was all outdoors and during a hot summer day, flies are everywhere hovering over your food. Maybe I just got the wrong item but maybe I'll give them another try and get a katsu sando next time. read more

However, they more than make up for it with really good food and excellent service. The food, as said before, is really good and in pretty big portions. I had to finish the katsudon in 2 meals. The drinks, while interesting and tasty, does have a tendency to have quite a lot of ice, so take that into account when ordering them. When I was debating over what to order, the owner was nice enough to give suggestions on what to order and what to pair with it. I really appreciated it! The owner so flavor fushion has such cute concept ideas for catering. I had many questions on what I should do for my Baby shower and Sitt gave me some examples of what they do for parties. He even sent over different sample bottles I should choose from. We ended up going with 16oz bear bottles and we went with the kiddie bear pool to place them in! It was a hit at our baby shower went with the theme very well and guest really enjoyed the drinks! We went with 4 different flavors. ( passion tea , mango lemonade, lychee lemonade, and regular milk tea) They have such a large variety it was hard to choose from but we went with what was most popular and recommended by Sitt. A HORRIFYING experience with service, traumatic. If I could give 0 stars, I would. The man who served us-- a big Asian man (not sure if he was the boss), started us out with bad attitude from the beginning, and so my husband did not tip him. Moreover, this is a very casual self-seating and self-serving outdoor stand. You pay first, then take the food and sit down. It didn't seem obligatory that we tip, especially after some passive aggressive attitude. After realizing we did not tip, the boss YELLED, yes YELLED expletives at us! He told us to "go home." He came forth in a manner that looked like he wanted a physical fight. This went on for many minutes. I could not believe what I was seeing. It was a horrifying experience. Although the restaurant itself is not the most attractive, the food is great here. The owner didn't do much exterior upgrade except that they built an outside shaded patio area for dine-in. They make donburi's, bentos, flavor drinks, and especially katsu sandwiches, which makes it unique from other Japanese joints. All good-sized portions and well worth the price. Place is like if Cheers the tv show did an outdoor Hawaiian takeout joint. Came in, owner and his kiddo were hanging out in the dining area, super laid back, told me to let him know when I was ready. He was also very friendly letting us know we could use their sink to wash my toddler's hands if needed and just super hospitable, as if we were guests at their house. I ordered a pork katsu sando and a tofu katsu sando for my daughter. Both sandos were good sizes, nothing super filling but more than just an app, great for a weekend afternoon. Good flavor with the sauce and crisp shredded lettuce. Fries were fairly thick, but not steak fries think. Decently crispy on the outside. Other than that, there's only outdoor dining with metal chairs available. All super clean. With the wide roof, it felt very comfortable under it even in high 80's weather as there was a great breeze going through. We came on a Saturday for dinner. Maybe because they're still having a soft opening- the place was pretty empty with only two tables occupied. Do note this is more of a self-serve place with only outdoor seating and you clean up after yourself. You place your order at the window and pay beforehand. We ordered the Katsu Don and Katsu Sando, two of their bestselling items. The Katsu Don was a pretty big portion and came with a small bowl of miso soup while the Katsu Sando came with wedge fries on the side. For both, the katsu wasn't super crispy, missing the crunch that I usually like, but that's personal preference. The meat could've been more tender too. I did enjoy the egg and onions in the Katsu Don, which went really well with the white rice and katsu. As for the sandwich, it was alright since I was missing the satisfying crunch with each bite. 4.5/5 for both items in consideration of the portion, price, looks, and taste. Service was excellent. My daughter tasted it and asked me to make curry at home so thanks for expanding my picky child's food interests! I thought the $5 for a musubi was high but they were tasty. Husband enjoyed his spicy tuna rolls. The lemonade and mint tea come in the neatest cups. Heads up they do not sit happy in a car cup holder since they're so tall and skinny. I noticed this place opened, replacing bentoya and decided to try it out. I ordered an oyakodon that came with a miso soup. The oyakodon took about 8 minutes to arrive after ordering while the miso soup was given within 3 minutes. The oyakodon was delicious. I loved the soft juicy chicken paired with the rice and green onions. Surprisingly, the bowl looked small but the actual portion size was quite a lot. The miso soup wasn't too salty, which I very much prefer. Overall, the food was definitely tasty. I did think the cost was a little bit expensive ~$15+ but I guess that's to accommodate for the current inflation. I will be coming back to try other options on their menu. read more

First time here, since Bentoya closed down...that was traumatic, so I wasn't ready to try anything else there! Looked them up online and the menu was not "listed" but more like if you were to order online, with drop down options. I ended up looking at menu pictures on Yelp. I wanted oyako-Don, but that was not available, nor was chicken Teriyaki. So I ended up with a Buta Don, a chicken katsu curry and a side of shrimp tempura. The food looked good, and honestly, with the current reviews, I also had high expectations. Initially, food tasted fine. Miso soup was good, and the curry had a kick, according to my husband. But as I ate my Buta Don, I realized it was way too salty. The pork was a little chewy as well. I thought the shrimp tempura flavor was good, but it was much too greasy. I love Japanese food and was really hoping they could at least come close to Bento-ya. I'm not convinced yet at this point, but it may be too soon and too little to tell. The drinks did look interesting and would be great to check out on a warm day. I had a hard time deciding on my rating, because I wanted to be supportive but honest. My wife saw this soft opening restaurant in Arcadia, and recommended we give it a try. We stopped here during lunch time. I briefly skimmed the photos on Yelp, but didn't realize it was outdoor seating only until I arrived. It was definitely on the cooler side when I visited.
