This is basically a fast food curry place with mostly fried food. Like most places in SGV the lot is not big enough for all the businesses in the mini mall, but you can usually get a parking. On Sunday night around 5:00 the restaurant was deserted. Nevertheless, it seemed like only one lady was doing all the food prep by herself. We had to wait maybe 20-30 min minimum for our order. When she was mostly done making it, another man came in the front door, put his dinner from another fast food place on the counter and started helping her. Like many new places, order is by kiosk only and they do not take cash. Highly recommend you skip the in-store wait and just order ahead on your favorite services that they take and allow 20-30 min to get there so you do not end up waiting in-store. The food quality was mixed. The spicy curry was too hot for us even though the flavor was good. The amount of meat and egg and overall food is not that big and you are mostly filling up on rice. That is not worth the post-Covid and inflation prices they are charging. The food tastes ok, but is not as good as comparable places or sit-down Japanese restaurants. The mild curry was not too hot and had good flavor. The potato salad texture is different, but tastes ok. We did not know one comes with each dish and so we accidentally ordered an extra. For maybe $5.99 or $6.99 it was totally not worth it. Even though we ate different dishes and did not share we both got mild food poisoning from here. We got: potato salad, chicken katsu curry, unagi bowl, and omurice bowl and a mango flurry. You definitely need massive lactade if you are lactose intolerant to drink their flurries and other yogurt drinks. Another restaurant has taken over this location and now it's curry flurry... I don't think they're going to last based off my visit. When I visited, the two staff were just sitting on their phones and vaping. There's two self order kiosks which uses a mix of photos taken of the dish and also AI images so what you se isn't what you get. After some time, we got our food to eat. All the food was packaged for to go so it didn't matter if you ate it there or took it out. The curry was obviously microwaved - the center was ice cold and the surrounding curry was very hot. The mashed potatoes that came with the dish were ice cold. The karaage was covered in a seaweed mayo and had no other flavor. All in all, won't be coming back and don't recommend it. We ordered at a kiosk, which was nice, and it was several minutes before I saw proof someone was working. I don't think he said a word to us the entire time! I also love the Wagyu patty curry omurice. The patty is made from scratch in the kitchen! The sauces that come with the patty and the chicken Katsu curry are so good, I don't know what it is, it's garlicky and soy sauce-ish and it's phenomenal. The drink is delicious, although it's premixed so you can't adjust the sweet level. Give yourself at least 25 minutes even if you plan on eating there. The place is smallish and the tables are fixed so you can't move it around. Definitely not for large parties since there are only five small round tables each comfortably can seat three people and there are a couple of wall seats for single eaters. I ordered a chicken karaage curry omurice rice spicy flavor and ordered my mom the teriyaki chicken skewers over rice. The spice level was really spicy at all but for a $1.00 more you can get really spicy but I didn't try that option. I was expecting the omurice to be a little more wet but it was basically a scrambled egg over my rice. My mom actually enjoyed her meal. She said the chicken was tender and she was able to eat it with little issue. She requires tender meats or she has a difficult time eating so a plus there for goodness. As for my chicken karaage she would've had a difficult time eating that since the chicken was over cooked and hard to even fork it with the plastics. I wasn't too thrilled with it myself. The omurice and curry were the highlight for us. My friends had the double wagyu patty rice bowl and she enjoyed that. Another two friends had the tonkatsu curry omurice and they enjoyed their dishes as well. The packaging of the items are solid and good quality. We also ordered drinks. It has very limited seating inside so I would recommend ordering takeout. I ordered tonkatsu omurice and selected spicy for my curry . It was probably one of the best tonkatsu I've had in awhile. The batter isn't caked on and it has the perfect amount of crispiness. It isnt dry and is super flavorful. I only wish they gave more of the tonkatsu. The curry was also delicious. I love Japanese curry and theirs was pretty good. We got a curry and also an omurice, which were both tasty. They have the worst online ordering system though. When I put in an order for 3 items, they texted me that my order was cancelled. Good thing I still went in because they said only 1 item was cancelled and not the entire order, but it didn't specify. Anyway the one employee looked like she was running the whole shop and I felt bad for her. Arrived at designated time, but app still noted that the food was being prepared. Went in the store to check, but there was no one at the front. Saw on the counter that my order was bagged and ready, but didn't know if I could just grab and go; rather worrisome that someone could just do that though since no one is at the counter. Stood and waited for roughly 10-15 min before owner lady reappeared from the back. Maybe because it was late and she had a long day, and there were two other customers waiting, but she was rather curt when I asked and pointed at my bag of food for pick up. She never asked to verify my order, which was concerning, and just pushed the bag towards me. She did wish me a nice day flatly before turning her attention back to another customer who waiting for his order. Btw, my order was still marked as "preparing" when I got back to my car, and only became "ready for pick up" when I arrived home lol. All in all, the food here is amazing. Loved both bowls that I tried, just as much as I enjoyed the food there the first time. I really want to go back and try more dishes, but this last service experience was sadly discouraging. Parking: Curry Flurry is located in the same plaza as Sin Bala. Parking might be a bit difficult during peak hours. Interior: The interior is pretty small. There were four small round tables for 2 and a bar to sit at. A lot of people were waiting at the bar so it was pretty much unavailable for indoor dining. Service: I arrived at 11:50 am on Sunday. I thought it was a soft opening but saw a sign that said grand opening out front. All the round tables were taken up by a single family so everyone else there was ordering takeout. I noticed that everything was served in to-go containers anyways. There were two people ahead of me. There were two kiosks to order from. There was one person behind the counter packing everything and bring the dishes to the tables. Unfortunately she seemed overwhelmed. Despite this being their grand opening, several items on their menus were unavailable. This included the tonkatsu and wagyu beef. While waiting for my order, she called me over to tell me that there was no tonkatsu despite the fact that I didn't order tonkatsu. Shortly after my order was placed, she called someone else over to tell them that they did not have chicken katsu either. It took about 35 minutes for my food to be ready. She called out my name and walked up to a random person and handed them my order. I was a bit confused because she mumbled the name and told the guy to enjoy and check that everything was there. It was a good thing that the guy checked because he noticed that it wasn't his name on the order. I asked him if it was mine and he handed it to me. I left before the two people ahead of me got their orders. Food: I got the Chicken Katsu Curry Omurice, Ebi Tempura Curry Omurice, and the Kani Cream Croquette Omurice. They all came with a seaweed soup with fish balls and a basic lettuce salad. I thought the omurice would at least be fried rice given how long our orders were taking but it was actually just plain white rice with an omelette on top of it. Pros: Presentation was nice. The proteins were crispy, curry was just the right amount of spicy, and the omelette was not overcooked. Cons: The rice was undercooked so it was hard and was almost had the texture of brown rice. The Kani Cream Croquette was basically a blob of cream with no hint of crab. They gave very little curry per serving of omurice. Each one filled up about 1/4 of the to-go container. Unfortunately, it was a very mediocre experience. If the guy who was handed my order actually left with my food and I had to wait another 30+ mins, then I would have been furious.
