85 Club On Tuesday,…read moreAugust 25, 2026, we went to the 185 Club. We had not been in ages, but I wanted Coney Island hot dogs. This is a super place; I am not sure why it took us so long to return. We were there around 5 pm, and it was happy hour. My wife ordered the Corbin Club, a loaded specialty sandwich made with smoked turkey, Black Forest ham, bacon, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and horseradish mayo on Texas toast. She asked them to hold the onion and mayo. I had 2 Coney Islands with Nathan's hot dogs, Coney sauce, mustard, and onion. The Coney sauce is the best, and it comes with the best string fries. They have a wide selection of beers. I had a Jackie-O's IPA. The service was both fast and cheerful.

Whats not so great, the menu they provided online was significantly out of date. We are talking a price difference of 2-3 dollars per items up to a five dollar price difference on certain entrees once you're in the door. This really teeters on being classified as a bait and switch tactic per Ohio law.

They were not well staffed and the ones that were working, were working super hard. Food was very good and delivered with a smile. Negative? Our bench seat had huge cut marks, the table and floor were not clean. And when was the last time anything was cleaned, including the bathrooms. This was a faux dive bar that has become a dive bar.

The first place we were going to go didn't have reservation available until late so I referenced Yelp for recommendations. Based on feedback I chose City Tavern and so glad I did. There was something for everyone on the menu and there was a great selection of drinks. The service was amazing, food and drinks came out pretty quick. Everything tasted good. (The mushroom dip was a hit.) We liked it so much, that my friend and I came back today while we waited for our husbands to finish up at the game convention. Service and food were very good again. We had the same waitress, from last night, who recognized us. Give this place a try if you are in the area.

Our family had a wide range of things, everything was good. I liked their wings (I liked the medium sauce much more than the hot, for the flavor, the heat was not a problem for me). While we are on the topic of drinks our friends ordered margaritas... the drinks tasted like the mix was a concentrate and hadn't been diluted. Their faces almost turned inside out from the sourness. The acoustics in the restaurant make even the quietest table seem loud. It was crowded so it was so loud we couldn't hear each other from across the table. Calamari and shrimp was the best ting we ate.

The toppings were fresh, the grilled onions added great flavor, and the bun stayed soft without getting soggy while I ate. The fries were crispy, perfectly seasoned, and the portion was huge--there were more fries than I could finish. They were so good I didn't even need ketchup. Service: I sat at the bar, and the service was excellent. The waitress was friendly, prompt, and attentive throughout my visit. At one point, while the bartender was helping other customers, she noticed I needed napkins and brought them over without me having to ask. It's little things like that that make a difference. Atmosphere: The ambiance was really nice. There were TVs throughout the restaurant, making it a great place to relax and catch a game. They also have outdoor seating available, although I chose to sit inside. The atmosphere was comfortable, welcoming, and somewhere I could easily see myself returning. The burger was cooked a little more medium than I personally prefer, but that's on me because I didn't ask for it to be cooked well done. The burger was still juicy and flavorful. For $10, the value is outstanding. Great food, great service, generous portions, and a great atmosphere. I'll definitely be back.

Nothing crazy though, just would probably venture out to other spots if I'm ever in the area again.
