I don't usually write reviews but I signed up for Yelp just to thank these guys. They are the real deal. First, some things I didn't learn from other reviews: they usually want cash at the end of the move (although Manuel was nice enough to take an electronic payment in my case) and the whole process will be very informal. I didn't have anything in writing (just e-mails) until I signed paperwork once the move was over. They were about 45 minutes late and I had to call to find out why (they were up very late with a move the night before). If you are a worrywart who wants a detailed estimate in writing and lots of other administrative stuff and you don't mind paying extra for it, then look elsewhere. I still give them top marks. They were the most affordable option for me by far and they were fast and efficient. Alejandro, Rafael, Javier, and Jorge worked hard--I was moving from one 3rd floor walkup to another--with no complaints. Because my wife had strained her back we were behind boxing things up but they took it in stride and even helped tape up boxes. There was no damage to anything. The price quoted was the price I paid even though I had underestimated the number of boxes I would have. No extra fees for the truck, packing material, or anything else. Amazing!!! I'm serious when I say I will never use another team of movers except for FLASH MOVERS! I was in quite a situation, and Manuel was able to get in my last-minute move that required a team of six guys and two trucks. Within a few hours they had every item meticulously wrapped up and safely unpacked and put back together! I was blown away at how efficient they worked together as a team, there was constant communication between them and myself, and before I even had to ask for something to be done, they had taken care of it. For example, before removing my TV from the wall, they had all the wires meticulously removed, wrapped up, sealed nicely in a package and handed over to me for safekeeping. I had numerous fragile items including mirrored credenzas, glass cabinets, lamps, as well as a giant 5' x 7' mirror. The guys were very thorough and thoughtful in how they wrapped every piece and carried everything. Not a scratch or mark was left anywhere. Kindhearted, friendly, accommodating, fun to be around, hard-working, kind and meticulous describes all of these gentlemen. I'm so glad I took the recommendation of a friend to use these gentlemen, received the quote immediately, amazing value, great communication via text/phone prior to move day. Manuel and his team are simply THE BEST....hands down! I have moved A LOT in Chicago and I just wish I would've found them years ago. Manuel moved me 2 days after closing on my first home purchase in Chicago so I was EXTREMELY stressed and had been for months. They arrived to the apt I was moving from early and assessed the situation and literally took it from there. I design systems and processes for a living and the approach those guys take is AWESOME and extremely professional! They work so quickly and efficiently it actually seemed as if there were more than 4 guys moving me. My move was extremely difficult due to 2 steep and oddly angled staircases in my new home. Manuel and team didn't flinch one bit, and just got it done and there was not a single scratch on my freshly painted walls or floors. The very next day, I realized I had asked them to move a heavy piece to one room that I actually wanted in another. I needed the piece moved before internet and cable guys arrived, and sure enough Manuel and one of his team members came over AGAIN on their day off and moved the piece for me, which they accomplished within a few minutes, which allowed me to have my services installed when and where I wanted. Manuel and his guys were outstanding TWICE for me. First, my main move on Aug 25. The team showed up promptly at 8am as scheduled and got BUSY loading up my belongings in the truck, having it loaded and ready to go in short order. They brought everything safely to my new condo and unloaded everything speedily and efficiently, having everything unloaded and in place in far less time than I had reserved the service elevator. Also, my move had an additional detail: a piano being brought to Chicago from Cleveland by my brother which needed removal from a U-Haul trailer and taken up to my condo. Whereas other movers wanted as much as an additional $400 just to unload it and take it upstairs, Manuel gave me a very reasonable additional charge and got it in my unit perfectly. I couldn't have been more pleased with the job and the cost was well worth it. Next, about a week later, my monster SubZero refrigerator was arriving via freight from New Jersey and also needed to be brought up to my condo from the alley. Manuel was able to provide a team one day in advance for a very reasonable fee, and they got that beast up to my condo perfectly. I could not be more pleased. I 100% would recommend using this company for your move! Our move was scheduled for 8am and they arrived about 15 mins early with 4 guys to do a walkthrough. They charged us a bit more since we had more stuff than we quoted to Manuel ( which was fine because we had ALOT of stuff) so make sure you let them know exactly what you're moving to get the most accurate quote. But the Lead's Cesar & Feliz were great at delegating and communicating with their crew. Roman & Gilberto were super sweet, nice and careful with handling our stuff as well! They did a great job of checking in and asking questions throughout the whole process when taking stuff out and loading it in the truck. We had a huge couch that I wasn't even sure how they would even get out and I was so impressed with how they maneuvered it out of our weird angled doorway! They brought their own supplies to properly break down our beds as well as pad and wrap our furniture. Once we got to our new place, they moved very quick and swiftly and everything came perfectly in tact with no damage and we were all done in about 4.5 hours. I will def use them again in the future if I move again and will recommend them to all my friends! read more

I hired this company based on a clear written quote from Manuel for $350 to move our listed items from two locations. The second stop was only 3 minutes away from the final destination, and this was accurately stated in our email exchange. The team arrived early and was professional at first. However, halfway through the job, they demanded an extra $150, claiming they didn't want to be late for their next job. This was surprising because they had shown up early, giving them plenty of extra time. The items were exactly as described in the quote -- there were no surprises on our end. When I contacted Manuel about the issue, he did not stand by his original quote. Instead, he asked the worker to put me on speakerphone and told me to negotiate directly with his employee. I even offered additional compensation (even though the change wasn't my fault), but they said it wasn't enough. Despite the unexpected demand, we still tipped the team an extra $50 on top of the original quoted price. This is not an ethical or honest way to do business. I would not recommend this company if you expect them to honor their written quotes. read more

This is my first time writing a Yelp review and only doing so because of how positive my experience was with Flash Movers last month! I moved from one 2 bedroom apartment to another (about 0.5 mile away from one another) and Flash Movers sent 6 guys who arrived exactly on-time. Not only were the movers incredibly fast (it was less than 1.5 hours from the time they arrived at my old apartment to the time they left my new apartment), they were so diligent and careful with all of my belongings. They came with all their own supplies and meticulously wrapped and cared for all my furniture, boxes, etc.. They also unwrapped all the furniture in my new place and helped my set up my bed frame and such. I received quotes from a number of moving companies and was surprised that my quote from Flash Movers was nearly half of all the others I received. I thought there must be a catch but after following through, I am so glad I did. Cesar and his team were INCREDIBLE and I will be using them for every future move. TLDR: Great family business, lowest quote, respectful movers, zero added fees I requested 5 quotes from local companies, and Manual (owner) responded with by far the lowest quote. I was hesitant to accept the quote, since it was lower than the rest (in some cases by about half). I spoke with him over the phone and decided to use his company. I couldn't have asked for better service. Manual and his crew arrived on time, moved my stuff quickly and expertly, and without effort on my part. I was really impressed at how they found the loading dock on their own without me having to direct them - the loading dock is on the opposite side of my building and his hard to find, especially with all all the one-way streets in downtown Chicago. Manual stuck to his quote, and did not add in any extra fees, as he promised beforehand. I spoke with them as they were finishing up, and learned that this is a family business that Manuel took over once the previous owner passed away. I've been recommending Flash Movers to all my friends who are moving to or from Chicago, and I highly recommend them. read more

Flash movers did two of my moves for me and both times they were incredible. They quoted me hundreds of dollars less than all the other movers I contacted and still gave amazing service. My first move was bigger and they arrived right on time, agreed to make three stops for item pickup, and unloaded incredibly quickly in the heat of summer. My second move was smaller and the team was just as efficient and amazing. They arrived early and ready to go with all the supplies needed and quickly loaded and unloaded everything. My whole move to a studio apartment in the same neighborhood took under 2 hours. I even added more boxes on the day and they did not charge me much more. The movers were incredibly professional and polite and took great care of my items. I recommend them to everyone I know who needs to move and they have all had pleasant experiences as well. I reached out to flash movers because I was moving apartments. The quote actually blew my mind at how affordable it was considering what I had paid two years prior. We went ahead and solidified the date and time and when they showed up they were on time, so friendly and worked so hard. They were so fast moving my things out and into the truck and into my next place. We couldn't fit my couch in through the front door or the back door. They hoisted my couch up two stories over my back patio and got it in through my bedroom door. unhinged the door, took off the legs of the couch then put it all back together. I was so blown away!!!! Great in-city movers! After getting quotes from few movers around Chicago, all with tons of fine print and what feels like hidden fees everywhere, Manuel wrote back with a fixed price which was a lot cheaper than anything else we got. On the day of the move, two(!) movers showed up 15 min ahead of schedule, packed our 1BR apt at lightning speed, and unpacked at our new place just as fast. Everything went smooth and all of our stuff was in the exact same condition as we packed it. The movers were great, communicative, and straight-up professionals. After getting such a low quote and having only two guys showing up I was kinda nervous (everyone else spoke about 3 if not 4 movers), but it was completely unnecessary - the move was as easy and smooth as can be. As others have noted in their reviews, for those of us who are a bit more planning-oriented, the process can make you a little uneasy since they confirm everything and then you don't hear much else until moving day. However, just as everyone says, they showed up right on time (20 minutes early for me). I was extremely impressed with the crew they sent out, they utilized five movers for my job. I found Flash Movers through Yelp and I am so glad I did. Manuel quoted me a reasonable flat rate and responded promptly to all inquiries I had leading up to our appointment. Cut to the actual move date (Sept 1, one of the busiest days of the year) him and his crew showed up 10 mins early for our appointment and moved me out of my 4th floor walk up in the pouring rain. It was raining so hard the alley was flooded. After they left the floors in both apartments were still clean, all my belongings were intact and DRY (witchcraft!). The crew was very polite and took great care of me and my stuff. They even moved a 10ft tall bird of paradise plant that was too tall for their truck without damaging it or batting an eye. I have used Flash Movers for two moves now and they are THE BEST. Rafael and his team just did my second move yesterday and I cannot express how great they are. They are friendly, kind, and very careful. Rafael and his team arrived early and quickly got to work. They wrapped and packaged all my big furniture, disassembled any furniture, and neatly moved everything into my storage unit. Also, they reassembled all my furniture (bed frame, couch, etc.) on my last move too! They live up to their name; moved my 3 bedroom apartment in a 2 flat walk up into the storage unit in less than 2 hours! Great value for how much furniture I needed to move.
