I stopped by for a takeout order and picked up the Spicy Boiled Wontons and Orange Chicken, and both hit the spot! The spicy boiled wontons are packed with flavor, with that delicious sauce bringing just the right amount of heat. The orange chicken is another satisfying choice, with its signature sweet and savory flavor that makes it hard to resist. Customer service was good, and the service was super fast, making this an easy stop when you're craving quality Chinese takeout without the wait. China Chili continues to prove why it's a favorite. Fresh food, bold flavors, authentic dishes, and efficient service? That's a winning combination in my book. Definitely a spot I'll keep coming back to!

Come for the Peking Duck; stay for the Duck Sauce y'all!…read more China Chili is absolutely fantastic! I've ordered from them through Uber Eats and Grubhub multiple times, and I already knew I loved their orange chicken and fried rice. But when a friend suggested we actually go inside and eat there, I thought, why have I been keeping this deliciousness strictly a takeout relationship? We went on a Saturday around 3p. The restaurant is simple, casual, and no-frills. Don't come looking for romance or Instagram-worthy ambiance. This is not the place for mood lighting. You're here to EAT, and honestly, I respect that. We were seated within about 5 minutes, and our server came by shortly afterward. My friend is a regular who swears by the Peking duck with buns, so we ordered that to share. I got my Sauvi B, my friend ordered a Chinese beer, and almost immediately, delicious egg drop soup appeared. No doctoring it up, no adding a bunch of stuff. It was perfect as is. Then came the Peking duck. Beautifully presented, expertly sliced, with crispy skin and all the fixings: shredded scallions, plum sauce, duck sauce, and spicy mustard. That spicy mustard? AMAZING. So... how did I build these little masterpieces you ask? Open the bun, spread on that delicious dark plum sauce, add the duck, scallions, a little crispy skin, and a dab of spicy mustard. Close it up and proceed to mind your business because baaaay-bee... that first bite was everything! I ate approximately 7 mini duck sandwiches. SEVEN! And I regret absolutely nothing. You can also order the Peking duck with pancakes, which I plan to try on my next visit. Because yes, there WILL be a next visit. And the one after that. The service was excellent, too. Attentive without hovering, efficient without rushing us, and perfectly pleasant. Nobody was trying to become our new best friend, but nobody was rude, either. Just good, straightforward service that let us enjoy our meal. By the time we left around 4:15, the restaurant was getting busy. All kinds of people were coming in, and plenty seemed to know exactly what they wanted. You could tell this place has its regulars, and I can absolutely see why. Now, let me address something very important from the perspective of a NEWYAWKUH (yes, that's how we say it). Since moving to Arizona 3 and a half years ago, finding truly delicious duck sauce has been the bane of my existence. I know, I know. First-world problems. But if you know, YOU KNOW. China Chili has the sauces, the fixings, the flavor, and the goods. That duck sauce and spicy mustard alone deserve a standing ovation. I can't wait to return with a bigger group so I can try more of the menu. But if you're going with just one other person, the Peking duck with buns is an excellent place to start. China Chili has officially secured another repeat customer. If you haven't been, go. And if you're already a regular, I now understand your loyalty. Come hungry. Bring friends. Order the duck. And for the love of all things delicious, don't sleep on the sauces!

I spent over $50 on food, and the quality was extremely disappointing. The General Tso's chicken was basically nothing but breaded chicken pieces -- no vegetables and barely any sauce. The Orange Chicken was also dry and lacked sauce, making both dishes bland and unappetizing. To make matters worse, each entrée is supposed to come with rice, yet only a very small portion was provided. At this point, it feels like this restaurant is cutting corners and poorly managed. I'm generally not someone who leaves negative reviews, but the lack of care, consistency, and food quality is impossible to ignore. This was my last time giving this establishment my hard-earned money. I'd rather spend it somewhere that values its customers and takes pride in the food they serve.

Pickup was very fast and I was in and out in under 10 minutes. Got the Orange Chicken lunch special with fried rice for around $10 (heads up, there is an $0.89 credit card fee). The portion size is huge for the price. The chicken was tender with a balanced savory flavor not too sweet or spicy, though not crunchy. The fried rice was seasoned, but ended up tasting a little plain on its own. Overall, the food and speed are solid, but the building exterior looks pretty rundown and could really use some love. Because of that and the fact that I live 30 minutes away, it's not a spot I'd make a long drive for, but calling ahead makes it a great, quick takeout option if you're right in the neighborhood.

May 15, 2026, I ordered a crispy spicy pork that turned out to be old, overcooked, beyond dry and very chewy. There was no saving it. I immediately called that night asking for a refund on that 1/3 items; I told them all about it and they apologized. They said I could go back in for a fresh one but I moved and live too far so that was not an option. I asked if I could just have a refund but they needed me in person, which I could not do. I ultimately agreed for a simple credit because they knew me and I reminded them that I had been coming to them for years, but it would be harder for me to get to that location anytime soon. They said it would be okay! *note: I'd ordered often enough and my orders were always $70-$90+. EVERY. TIME. Many times a year. I told them I moved out and I'll take a free credit of a spicy pork but was not planning to return for at MINIMUM 3ish months maybe..but they could not give me a refund over the phone. The location was simply no longer convenient anymore but I love their quality and flavor most the time. They told me they would keep my number and note that it could be a while until I returned but they said it was okay!! I say that yet again because I was promised and reassured multiple times in this phone call back in May. I even worried it would be too long but they confirmed thrice they would give me the a new free crispy pork no problems. That was that. Fast forward to today, October 23, 2026. I call deer valley location and ask if I can order potstickers and crispy spicy pork. I remind her of my credit and she FOUND my order and told me it was written down but there were no potstickers on that order. I said yes, I'd like the credit for the spicy pork and I will happily pay for potstickers. She was confused and I had to explain a couple different ways while she ultimately said okay okay and hung up. I drive the 25 minutes over there and all she has for me are the potstickers.. I ask where the crispy spicy pork is and she said she won't give it to me. She said the previous order I had was too long ago. I told her the story yet again, but she said so many people call and complain and want free food and she doesn't believe that the food was old or that I was promised a credit. But I explained AGAIN that they had told me that it would be OK. And she still wouldn't believe me. She refused to even let me order the item again!! She refused to give me the credit that was promised. I told her I understood it had been a long time and that people try to do that. She said that the pork they gave me was not old. GASLIGHTING me to thinking I was wrong. I outright told her that they sold me old pork! And she still was shaking her head no and would not believe me. No other staff would even step in when I asked for management or the owner. One girl continued to sit people around me while I was being disrespected by this mean old lady. Eventually, I told her I even had the picture because I knew I might run into this issue having been a while. She wanted to see the picture so I showed her. I zoomed in and said LOOK. It's dry and was HORRIBLE. I even showed her a fresh one I received from the Scottsdale location in comparison to the garbage they sold me. She barely believed me after I showed her the old picture with the time date stamp, but then she said she would not give me that exact item because I would simply complain again :0. Like wut. She said she wouldn't let them make me that item and repeated herself saying "I will just complain again because they will make it wrong." I said I simply wanted a fresh one this time and she said they will still do it wrong, didn't want me to complain later. She had said I could something else but not even that item anymore. Refused even though she realized I had the proof to be right. I was pissed at this point and reluctantly said maybe I'd take a kung pao chicken? But then she started ringing me up and she was going to charge me for it!!! I said forget it. You are practicing BAD business lady. SHAME ON YOU. I said I didn't even want the food anymore because I didn't trust her and her behavior left a bad taste in my mouth. The Deer Valley location shattered and burned a bridge with a long time customer turned angry at this lady who gaslit me into thinking that I was the one in the wrong.. She had recited my own order back to me reminding me that they had written me down, for a credit? Apparently not. But she was the one that told me the date it happened. That's how I even found the picture!! But then she said she ultimately had no proof??? She was accusing me of being someone who is just lying for free food.. Wow. Nasty piece of work, lady. DO NOT RETURN TO DEER VALLEY GEORGE AND SONS!! Make the drive to the friendlier and better quality Scottsdale location.

Went for lunch and had the lunch special combo, Kung-Pao Chicken, extra-spicy, with hot-and-sour soup. Pros: Soup was hot. Generous portions of plain, white rice and noodles. Main dish was generous as well. Served hot, with two extra red chiles ("extra-spicy"). Cons: Soup was very small, maybe 6 ounces? No shrimp, pork, or chicken -just vegetables. Soup was hot, but barely "sour". More black vinegar, less sugar, please. This was "Hot-and-Sweet Soup, not Hot-and-SOUR". Noodles were angel hair pasta, not Chinese wheat noodles. I know. I'm a cook, and have been serving both to my family for 50+ years. Barely any flavor... didn't finish them. Crab Puff? NO crab, just cream cheese. Didn't see or taste any crab. It is supposed to, but as a background flavor, not as a forward flavor. Again, too sweet! It was just okay, but not as complex and deep as the Sichuan version is supposed to be.
