I've come here twice so far. Same food ordered, two very different experiences unfortunately. The first time I came here with my daughter, I was super excited to try it! I looooooooove falafel! I even managed to plan out what I was going to eat at Falafel before getting there. I met my mother and sister there. I don't like the idea of going through the mall, but I suppose it may be convenient for some. The setup is super nice and cozy. Great for large crowds or singles. I got the falafel plate with hummus , garlic sauce, and lamb. The dish is served cold, was is super yummy. Lots of bold flavors and unlike anything I've ever had. The first time I came here, the employees working there were pleasant and patient. The dish was served in a boat style plating. I would have given the place an easy 4 stars, not five because of how pricey it is. You're paying for restaurant quality food in a commons type of setting. I thought price would have been cheaper. The second time however, lack of customer service got the best of me. I ordered the exact same thing, except with a side of pita bread. This time, the plate came out on a red boat plate with holes in the side. The dish leaked out everywhere. It got all over me and the table when I was letting others I was with try it. When I had gotten back to the table, I noticed I was missing the extra pita bread. I let one of the workers know, and he said he would make me a fresh batch. Another employee said "just give her this" and it was some already made sitting on the end of the line. I told him I'd rather have fresh/hot pita. He became super defensive "it is fresh, it was just sitting down there!" I didn't know what to say. The original employee just started making the fresh pita for me while the other stomped around "it's so fresh, i'm just going to eat to show you how fresh it really is." AND he ate the pita in front of me while I waited for the fresh pita. If I was his boss, he would have been written up in a heartbeat. No employee should ever be working and eating behind the line to "stick it" to a customer. It made me feel terribly uncomfortable. I loved the food, but holy moly, it was so uncalled for. read more

There are several restaurants at the Flagship Commons in the Westroads so this review will be about Juan Taco mostly. I had the pulled pork burrito bowl and she had the chicken burrito bowl. Go with the pulled pork...it just has way more flavor, otherwise they're the same. Add sour cream. It's rice, beans, white cheese, lettuce, salsa and the meat you choose. Simple but pretty good and the portion:price ratio is very fair. The Commons itself is pretty nice for a mall food court with alot of seating, tvs in some but not all sections, a fireplace and a variety of other restaurant choices like pizza, burgers, greek, ramon, sushi, coffee and a couple bars. Some are a little more expensive than you'd expect to pay at mall food court but this is no common mall food court. read more

Great selection of food, all the places looked good. Got the ramen from Yoshi-Ya ramen, and it wasn't very good. Funky flavors in the ramen, and the bacon chili oil took over the whole thing. Wouldn't get ramen from there again, although the gyoza was yummy. Glad I didn't get the spicy ramen, it was plenty spicy with the chili oil. I had a bad first experience at Amsterdam here, but I decided to give Yoshi-Ya ramen a try. It was delicious! The Spicy Oni is full of flavor and has a nice kick to it. I'd recommend getting it with extra noodles, as I found myself left with a lot of broth at the end of the meal. They gyoza (dumplings) were really tasty too. We went around 130pm and there was no line. We put our order in and received a text about 5 minutes later when our food was ready. It's a good place to get ramen and very convenient for the shopping season. read more

This place is fantastic. Don't go looking for fast food priced food though, you'll be setting yourself up for frustration. It fits a market gap in the suburbs between fast food and sit down, both in terms of price and quality. I found the price to be consistent with the quality of *most* everything here. Again, this is not your budget food court! The variety of options is what has kept us coming back over and over and telling our friends about it. Local beer. Local coffee. Great ramen dishes, respectable sushi (hard to find in Omaha), etc. The flatbreads were a little bland so he careful making a meal out of those. Also, be careful that if you want the full menu at Blatt Beer & Table to sit at their bar and tables along the exterior wall- they have a separate bar closer to Yonkers entrance that is full beer but limited food menu. If the lines are short try mixing up a la cart style. Queso from the taco joint makes a good appetizer. You have to be able to get over the mental barrier of "this is a mall food court". Times are changing. It's okay people, there's no shame in making this a destination to eat at. read more

This is a combined review of two places: Weirdough pizza and Yoshi-Ya Ramen Weirdough pizza gets 1 and 1/2 stars. I waited about 20 minutes for my slice of pizza (there was no line) before I gave up and just left. I asked them multiple times to check on my slice of pizza and got the same response that "it will be a few minutes." Only reason they get a star is because the cashier was nice. Did not even get to try the pizza so I cannot rate it... Yoshi-Ya Ramen 4 stars. Food is delicious although my noodles have been undercooked once or twice. I also think it is overpriced for Ramen. You can go to Pana88 for nearly half the cost but the ramen here is clearly superior. read more

I've been here twice and the first visit was on a busy Saturday around 2pm. A friend and I went to the Ramen place. The wait was very long to get to the register and long to wait for the food. The texting system doesn't work well. It is hard to hear phone numbers and takes up too much time. The food was good. We both got the same dish, the second listed on the menu, I forget what it is called now. It was good, but very salty and fatty, which I expected having ramen before. Don't expect it not to be. I give the ramen place four stars. I went to the taco place a few days later. Around dinner time on a week night. No line and the wait wasn't bad for the food either. However, the service was only okay and can be improved. My food was ready and three people walked by it before someone gave it to me. Then as I sat to eat I realized I didn't get the guac and sour cream I ordered. As I was by myself I didn't take all my stuff back up to ask for it. The chicken quesadilla was good, but soggy. The rice and beans were good and are almost enough for a single meal. Over all a three star rating. The one thing about flagship that is frustrating is where the silverware and drinks are placed. They back right up to traffic of those looking at the food options. It doesn't create good flow. Three stars overall. read more

Great stop when you're with a group of folks who cant decide on a flavor. Salad, burger, sushi, tacos, etc. Very much a "something for everyone" situation. Relative to other mall food courts, Flagship Commons is the bee's knees. Solid local brands like Blatt Beer and Table, Yum! Roll by Blue Sushi, and Amsterdam anchor the joint. The taco truck, salad joint, pizza place, coffee stand, and ramen bar add some fresh and eclectic flavors. Bottom line - most mall food courts are predictable with their national chains and have not had a refresh in years (many have occupancy issues). Flagship Commons is fresh, hip, and local - a great asset to Westroads. A lot to like here...at a minimum, something to like! read more

I have been thinking about my recent trip to this "uncommon food hall," and I have to say, there are only a few differences between this food hall and your run-of-the-mill food court. First, Flagship serves alcohol. I have been to many malls, including a few "upscale" ones, and most of the nicer ones serve alcohol, but not in the traditional food court setting. Alcohol is served in mall restaurants, and I have even worked at a mall that had a beer garden inside of a Japanese grocery/restaurant. It would be nice to take a break from shopping and imbibe some spirits. Second, the prices are higher. A bowl of ramen will cost you more money than your bag of tacos or BK burger from a traditional food court. Our trip inside Blatt was certainly more than your typical fast food combination. Located in a place where people are most likely already spending money, this food hall seems like a great thing for Flagship business. Third, the decor is really nice. The large open seating of the commons has a modern decor feel with lively wall decorations. It is really lovely to look at. So, these three factors combined gives the average mall goer the sense that they are getting better food, better quality, and a better experience. Is this true? I can't say definitively since I only tried Blatt, which was in line with its other 2 locations. Nothing out of the ordinary, but still enjoyable. Maybe I have been spoiled by some excellent food choices at other mall locations for better value, but this is certainly a step up from the previous food court. At the end of the day, though, while you're enjoying your fancy "craft soda" and bowl of ramen, realize that you're still in a shopping mall. Because of this fact alone, Flagship commons probably won't grace my radar again since I try to avoid shopping malls most of the year. read more

So if you're in Omaha, and can't decide what you and your party want to eat, this is the place. Ate at the Ramen Ya. Ordered the Tonkotsu Deluxe and two niku man. I was very surpised that they offer texting you when your order is done, which is great if you want to place an order and go browsing for a bit. I followed the traditional steps, itadakimasu, sample of broth, single noodle dipped and slurped, followed by creating a mini-bowl in the spoon, freestyle, then finished all the broth. The taste was fantastic, it tasted as what tonkotsu ramen should taste like, with a semi-deep creamy texture, with the chili-bacon paste adding spice and a bit of crunch to out-crunch the corn. Definitely recommend if you got a bit of time. The nikuman made the order take longer, since the buns are steamed, but they keep the buns separate from the filling until ordered, where they only steam the bun itself, making the process much faster, then stuffing it with the filling. Very savory with a soy/teriyaki sauce, where the inner bun is coated in kewpie mayo. My buns got cold fairly fast due to the air. Everything here is a bit more pricey than normal, due to the Westroads Mall, but that's fine considering you have a choice of 8 different restaurants. read more

Not too bad. Located inside the fairly new flagship commons food court. Order at the counter and they will call your name when it's ready. I ordered the chicken quesadilla with chips and queso. When I got my food was given only a cheese quesadilla, so was a little disappointed that they messed up my order, I didn't bother telling them. Went ahead and ate it anyway. The food was good, not too filling which is good for a light meal. Overall I might come back on occasion, but won't make a special trip for it. To sum it up, pretty average! read more

I am really excited for this new concept and food arena to be in Omaha. It really is a fantastic place. We were here on a Wednesday right as they opened. We made the rounds looking at all the options and being the taco lover that I am decided to go with Juan Taco for our first go round here. I ordered the carne asada taco on corn tortilla. At $4.25 I think it is a bit pricey for what you get. I also felt like it really didn't have much flavor other then the salsa I put on it, although the meat was tender enough. I wouldn't order this again. I also got the chicken tinga quesadilla. I felt this was a much better value at $3.25 as it was packed with meat and gooey cheese, however it was so greasy I went through about 10 napkins wiping myself down. This did provide more flavor though so it did taste much better, it was just a mess to eat! We also had to wait for our food quite a while and there were only a couple people ahead of us. (As I said, we got there right after 11am). I do like the alternative options here for drinks. We tried the lemon berry, vanilla creme, and black cherry. They were all great! There were people walking around keeping tables cleared and even taking our tray from us which was very nice. I will certainly be back to try the other options here and will update my reviews accordingly. read more

Went here tonight after bridesmaid dress shopping with a friend. We ate at the Blatt and I both had burgers. I said my burger was okay not fantastic and I wished it was more of a grill taste but my friend said she really liked hers. I really liked fries and and she didn't. I guess it's differing opinions for their food. They have tons of food there and different options for picky eaters. It's nicer than Mall food court food which I really like. Food court food, food court atmosphere, full-service restaurant prices. $31+ for food I have to stand in line for and take to my table is ridiculous. To its credit, Yoshi-Ya has a great employee with the kid named Junior. Very nice person, courteous, efficient, informative. Otherwise, the food was ho-hum. Also, to get satisfied I wanted some kind of dessert. I had no idea where to get this, so we left. The really good thing about this place is it has Amsterdam, so I don't have to go to Dundee, AND the soda selection is marvelous. I had Agave Vanilla Creme Soda--this alone will keep me coming back. Update, April 7, 2017: Finally tried Clever Greens. I am slightly sight impaired, so I was unable to read their menu board on the wall. I mentioned this to the gal behind the counter, and she just stared at me. No offer to assist, no apology. Nothing. So I looked her in the eye and mentioned again that no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't read the menu board. Again, nothing from her. They don't even have a printed menu for sight-impaired people to refer to. I'm also mobility impaired, so if I have been in a wheelchair instead of using my walker, I guarantee someone with perfect sight would have a trouble. This employee's lack of caring left me with no desire and no strength to try anymore with someone who clearly didn't give a crap about ADA accommodations for their guests. And to think...this is a salad place, a healthy eating option. Wouldn't you expect this would be the one place out of all the vendors at Flagship Commons that would have helped me? read more

The place is way different than a regular food court and a bit more upscale. This translates a cleaner, nicer environment with less harsh lighting and better service. They have a good selection so the "where do you want to eat" question can be avoided and everyone can get their own thing. I've tried three places here so far: Juan Tacos: the fish taco was really good. Not sure how fresh the fish is, but the cabbage was really crunchy and their salsas are great. The chicken taco was mediocre at best. Yoshi-ma Ramen: Not impressed. I got the vegan ramen and it was really bland. The broth honestly just tasted like hot water and had no flavor of its own-- not even salt. The mushroom was well prepared but too sweet-- I kind of winced as I bit into it. The noodles themselves were fine. Amsterdam- Same as the other location. Great falafel and donor kebabs. Highly recommend their fries with mayo and the garlic sauce. As a whole, I love the concept. It's nice to have a high-end food court setting with fresh foods and not to have to resort to Aunty Anne's when hunger strikes at the mall. The ramen place could definitely be better. I hope this place succeeds and judging by the crowds at the place on the night I was there, I think it will be just fine. It's also nice to have another coffee option at the mall-- given the Scooter's monopoly at pretty much every shopping place in Omaha. read more

I always come here for Yoshi-Ya Ramen. I do enjoy Juan's food as well, but I manly come here for the ramen. Every experience here is a good one for me; the ramen never takes any longer than 5-10 minutes to cook, and it always tastes fantastic. The eggs in the ramen are seasoned well, the pork chashu always tastes great as well as the bean sprouts, the pork broth & of course the ramen itself. I also love the Bao Pork Buns they have here; they have a taste similar to that of the pork buns served at JINYA Ramen near the Crossroads Mall. Sometimes seating can be difficult (especially on Fridays & Saturdays) but I usually always find one - sometimes it's easy to find a seat; it really just depends on what day it is and what time of the day it is. I highly recommend coming here to eat, especially at Yoshi-Ya Ramen - & Juan's as well; I love their chips and salsa. read more

A solid lunch experience! I enjoyed a California Greenin salad from Clever Greens. It was made well but a little spicy which I downplayed with a little side of ranch. It was fresh! Bought a soda to try the agave vanilla cream soda. It was good but rich. Will probably just stick to water next time to cut the cost. Over $12 for a salad with no meat and a drink. Hubby had Juan Taco's steak quesadilla and chips and queso. He enjoyed both. His was also over $12 and the quesadilla is small so next time he would skip the soda and buy another quesadilla or taco. Overall, this concept is a cool place and we want to go back to try some other stuff. Downsides: is it is a $12 plus lunch which can quickly run a lot higher if someone is a big eater or has to try multiple things. We chose to eat at the taco place. The food was okay. Nothing that I will remember. The queso and beans were the best part of the meal. It was very overpriced. I could have gone many other places and gotten much more food for the same price I really enjoyed the variety of sodas. I had a lemon blackberry acai soda (I believe), and it was one of the most refreshing drinks I've ever had. The environment was hectic. Pretty great concept and design for a "food court" and you don't even feel like you are at the mall. We opted to try yoshi ya ramen and yum roll, for the Korean BBQ beef rice bowl, the latter recommended by our friends. Highly impressed with the rice bowl, my fiancé and I are the type that generally have to add hot sauce. We did not have to at all for this bowl, the spice level was perfect. They do have unique hot sauce sitting out though! The ramen was good, but we have had better. The noodles are thicker than I am used to. Flavor was good but I would say meat wise and comparing the overall spice & flavor, there are other places I would prefer for my ramen. The meat was one little chunk of pork belly possibly, and did not have much flavor. We made ours extra spicy and it still needed more kick. When I was at Juan Taco I didn't get good customer service. We had already ordered ramen and while waiting for that delicious stuff, thought we'd get a fish taco. Not a good experience. Overly unprofessional staff. They slid the taco out from the kitchen into a bowl of salsa. Then threw it away. Looked at me and said its going to be a little while longer because the fish takes longer to cook. As if it was somehow my fault I was waiting. I cancelled the order and told them not to bother making another one. The manager acted as if I was trying to steal something. So a week later I'm back. I order the same thing and some steak tacos. Not good. Tacos were horrible. The $2 tacos in the truck down at the gas station are great. Why Juan Taco can't get that right, I don't know. Never going back again. Update. I finally resisted the wafting scent of the pretzel stand and tried Juan Taco at Flagship Commons for lunch today. The chips and queso were just what I was looking for, but the chicken quesadilla was a little bit of a letdown - served super hot, it took five+ minutes to cool down enough to eat, and when it was, I felt like I was really missing the cheese. Unfortunately there was also a piece of gristle in my quesadilla. It happens, but it's definitely a turn-off when it does. I'm not chomping at the bit to return to Juan Taco, but it's likely I'll eat there again in the future. I really enjoyed the craft sodas available at the soda fountain for the same price as the old standbys. I tried both the cola and the cream soda (yum!) and picked up a cupcake from Aroma's for later. I'll definitely check out a few of the other options in the future. I'm admittedly a fairly picky eater, so, sadly, some of the spots just don't have much for me. I'm all about upscale food, which I consider a good number of these places to have, but I always appreciate some simpler options on a menu for the 12-year-old diner in me. I dig the atmosphere - reminds me of some places I've been to on the East Coast. It's a refreshing move for a mall in Omaha. I look forward to trying a few more things there. read more
