Had backsplash and new faucet to be installed in bathroom. Bathroom was done within a year and kitchen done 2 months ago...john roamed around my house and basement for half an hour trying to find water shut off. Told him I was not paying 94 an hour for him to try to find the shut off valve when others did. Then asked just to do the backsplash...said no we are done and walked out. Owner called and said Jon is good but does not understand. I do not get how other contractors could do a large job but a simple faucet replacement cannot happen. read more

Ive had two really good experience and one really bad one. I wish I could recommend this company but they didn't follow up with me when I expressed my displeasure with one of their "fixers". Instead of admitting that the job was more than he could handle or discuss what part he could help with, he suggested that I didn't know what I wanted and that the discussion made him uncomfortable. I felt insulted and I'm still a bit angry about how the company handled this situation. I'm not sure the "fixer" knew what he was doing. He looked a little confused. It might be this one employee is the problem but unfortunately the customer service person I communicated with said he would call me to discuss and he never did. Still waiting. Katie was great! We had a light fixture we needed to replace after our large cat tried to use it as a perch and shattered it. Katie arrived early, started work on time, and clearly explained everything she was doing so I could learn. She also added extra reinforcement so the new light wouldn't fall if our cat tried to jump on it. Fixer was super easy to schedule and flexible, and made sure we had the parts we needed in advance. I called Fixer after experiencing this worst move of my life which on top of everything else left one huge Henredon armoire behind and broken because two move teams could not figure out how to get it apart to move it. Jabril and Cat accomplished in under an hour what two groups of experienced and skilled movers could not. It was a complex dissemble and Jabril and Cat very calmly worked their way through how to get it apart. I'm so happy not to lothis beautiful piece of furniture with my move. You guys are awesome!!! Part Two - Today another team from The Fixer, this time Wayne and Cat, to repair and reassemble the armoire in the new apartment! Just like last time, they worked quickly but ever so carefully to put this piece of furniture back together again. We had Ben and Carlos come to install 2 bathroom medicine cabinets, on an interior tiled cement wall, and 2 curtain rods on two exterior cement walls. Requested/selected appointment for next day... early am which worked best for my schedule, received timely confirmation and request for some additional info so I texted over a few photos and descriptions of the project and was notified about who would be doing the work. $129 down the drain for less than an hour of work having nothing fixed than screwing a door knob back on. Everything else was above their pay grade(!! At $129 an hour!!) or would need more time to fix (and btw instead of recommending a replace they would go at it for more hours and per a true professional their suggested solution not viable long term). Not handy in any sense of the word. Concept is great and convenient in theory. Dispatcher responsive but quality of technicians questionable. Don't count on them fixing the simplest of things otherwise you will be disappointed. Will never use again. Avoid this type of service. They're out to bill their hourly much like attorneys and accountants but with no work quality guarantee. Do not leave your credit card on file as they will charge you automatically and you're in no position to handle a situation where they did not deliver. read more

I've used Fixer twice now. The first time they rehung a glass shower door that had pulled off the wall. They arrived with precisely the tools they needed, gave good advice, and finished efficiently. The most recent time was today, when two Fixer electricians (Pedro and Max) came to install two Nest security cameras on our property. It was July 4th and steaming hot outside but they worked with a great attitude and high proficiency. I will use Fixer again any time household needs arise. Amazing service! I can not recommend Fixer highly enough. The process to book was simple easy, and their team had availability during the time slots we needed. The Fixer dispatch quickly texted to confirm the work (we exchanged a few pictures of the projects) and booked the appointment. We requested Fixer to hang a towel rack, change a smoke detector, and repair a broken closet door. Our Fixer, Edgar, showed up on time (actually five minutes early), was extremely courteous, professional, prepared, and qualified. He worked for 1.5 hours (pricing after the first hour is prorated by the minute) and was transparent about timing, etc. He came prepared with basic hardware, but let us know we needed some additional pieces to repair the cabinet door, which we were able to easily find at a hardware store while Edgar was working on the other projects. When the finished, he walked us through the bill (which again was very transparent!) and told us we'd receive a final bill via text/email - which we did within minutes. Through that final bill you can rate, review, and leave a tip for your Fixer. Fixer made the process of finding a handyman, (which from experience can be difficult) quick and easy.
