I was told it would be handled one way over the phone- but when the electrician got here- he chose to tackle it another way: he attempted to put GFCI breakers on the circuit box which would not hold- so he then he had to spend time removing them, and ultimately the project I waited 8 weeks for them to come out and handle was 0% complete. While he was here I had him do a couple other things: replace two outlets, put a recess plug behind the TV and add a two gang light switch with a dimmer. I eventually got the bill and it was well over a thousand despite the major project I brought them out for being O% complete. I was charged in full for his hours installing, testing and uninstalling his "fix". When I called they argued with me on the number of hours that portion of the project took and ultimately took less than two hundred off my bill, did not offer a solution or fix to the unresolved problem. I was very open minded in calling as I know things can come up with electric and plumbing that are out of the hands of the service worker- but in my opinion the person working on my house did not seem knowledgeable and attempted a different fix than what was originally offered.

It took about a week to get on the schedule because of them being swamped with work. Very professional and they did a great job. JW sent pictures of the completed work to the city inspector, which made his job a breeze. The DTE electrician was also pleasantly surprised to see that he would not have to terminate any wiring and all he had to do was plug in the meter. Our contracts call for all removed material to be retained by the owner, us, not them. Well, therein lies the problem. Many electricians view all wire that they touch as theirs. But guess what, they didn't buy it, we the owners did. For some reason AF Smith's electricians just can't stop themselves from taking any wire removed as demolition. Even though it is clearly explained in our contract. It seems that the management of AF Smith is afraid to make these thugs not steal our wire.
