We have had an unfortunate time with this company. We initially brought them on in November 2022 to install two doorbell cameras and a chime box. While the doorbells worked fine at first, the chime box never worked. We had multiple followup visits and some very long gaps in communication, with the technician sent to follow up on the initial install claiming that the previous technician had been fired while badmouthing the quality of work that was done.
After months without a working chime, a followup visit that led nowhere, and very little communication from the office, we got tired of waiting and started calling constantly for weeks. Eventually we were able to get through to someone at the office and the owner of the company came out to address the issue personally. Finally, roughly 8 months after the initial install, we had a working doorbell and chime box.
Less than two months later, one of our doorbells stopped working completely. During the troubleshooting process we tried to reseat the doorbells only to discover that not only was there a large crack on one of them, but the doorbell would not seat back in the mount. It looked like it had been forced into place by slamming it in to the mount, which could have occurred at any of the followup visits or even the initial install with one of the allegedly fired techs. We never had a reason to reseat the doorbell until this point and we hadn't had a good look at it prior, but there is no way that anyone could ring a doorbell hard enough to break it and the only people who handled the doorbell and reseated it were employees of White Tail. Concerningly, both the initial technician as well as the first technician who followed up with us were no longer employed by White Tail according to the owner.
In spite of this, the company has completely denied that they could have damaged the doorbell and have refused to even come look at the other issue, claiming that it's impossible that the device's malfunction could be the result of their work. If it were any other company I'd believe it, but considering we went through multiple techs and the owner to even get the chime box up and running I'm pretty skeptical. Our current situation has us with one broken doorbell and a mysteriously malfunctioning one less than one year out from the install. It's not a great outcome from what should have been a really simple job.
Broken equipment and repeat issues aside, it's incredibly difficult to get in touch with the office. We understand there being delays, but any communication would have been better than being sent to voicemail after the first ring or having your calls ignored for weeks. If you don't have anyone available to send or if your team is busy, just tell us. Even if you'd rather not deal with the issue, then say so and cut us loose so we can shop around for another electrician.
To sum up the issue, the initial price we were quoted was fair and we weren't charged for the repeat visits which was appreciated. However we had way more problems than were reasonable which were compounded by massive communication issues with their office. Ultimately, we've been left with no working doorbells less than a year after the initial install. We're also financially on the hook for replacing the doorbell that was damaged as well as needing to hire a new electrician. Because of this, I cannot recommend them to anyone. read more
