Alex promptly got back to me with a very reasonable quote, and I was happy to learn they have weekend availability. As a professional working in healthcare, I hate to take time off on short notice, as it requires me to have 25-30 patients rescheduled last minute, which is unfair to both my office manager and my patients. Fortunately, XPower is flexible in their availability, which I greatly appreciated. They showed up between 9:00 and 9:30 AM on Saturday as promised; I did not have to wait around for hours for them like I've had to for other contractors. They promptly got to planning how to rout the wiring as I'd requested and got to work. They kept me abreast of their progress while I worked in my yard, and even though they hit multiple snags (to be expected in a 1930s home like ours), they managed to creatively strategize ways to get the work done exactly as I'd asked. Under normal circumstances, I'd expect to simply be told the work cannot be done as I'd like and to be offered some sort of half-baked alternative or worse -- to be told that the contractor is going to back out of the job because of the difficulty. Not these guys. These guys are the essence of "Where there's a will, there's a way." The crew was even happy to add on some last minute work I'd requested, as I had accidentally struck something in my wall the day before when I was installing some wall anchors to hang some paintings and unexpectedly set off a shower of sparks. Turns out I somehow managed to penetrate a live electrical box one of the previous owners had sealed over after they had removed some sconces from the wall. That was a lifesaver. I can't say enough good things about this crew. They're accountable, they clearly care about the work they do, and they'll do whatever it takes to get the job done. Any time I have any electrical work that needs to be done in the future, I will only be calling XPower, and I will be recommending them to all of my friends and family. I am already planning on having them back to install some more picture lights as well as a recessed media box and recessed outlet for my Samsung Frame TV and soundbar. I'm even considering getting a quote to buy my parents a whole-home generator for their house as a gift, as their power goes out frequently and unexpectedly. Two days turned into 2 weeks! So when he came out to the house to start the job an issue pops up, he's going to need another guy to help him and the guy he brought with him. Well I didn't hear from them for over a week even though I had called both numbers and left messages. I finally get a voice message saying my price has increased substantially and they want the money up front but since I need the job done I call back more than 7 times and no one returned my call until a month later. Reason given is personal problems. I really believe the job was to much work for them. I would have preferred they be honest and not waist my time. That's $275 down the drain and I have to find someone else to come out and fix my issue. Save yourself some time and money because they'll throw every excuse there is at you.

I called no less than 5 places and the only one that showed up was Detroit Beesley Electric. He said he would be there at 2pm. showed up at 2, quoted the price and had us whit heat in 1 hour! In the process of buying a new home for my family, we had a general inspection of the property and…read moreit was found that the home had aluminum wiring. Our inspector suggested we get a qualified Electrition to go to the house and give it a once over. That evening we called Efficient Electric and spoke to Mike the owner. He informed us that homes with aluminum wiring can be safe if the proper termination points are used. The next day he sent Brian, a qualified Electrition to our house and his assistant and they opened up every outlet and switch, documenting which ones were safe and unsafe. The following day, Mike provided us with a write up and pictures that showed issues that he found as well as a very reasonable quote. Mike bent over backwards to help us out and we are so grateful.
