I cannot recommend them any higher. I wish I could give them 10 stars out of five. We had to have our house rewired and an electrician referred us to JD Electric. They came right out and gave us an estimate to rewire our whole house due to our house having aluminum wiring that showed signs of burning, scorching, etc They began the next day and Hayden and Elijah came out and began the work. They were later joined by Mike. All three of them did a great job, were very easy to work with, friendly and hard working. John, the owner called me to see how the work was going and if I had any issues. There were none because all of them were outstanding to deal with. They were all a blessing to my family for the way they worked and their professionalism and personalities. My house now has safe wiring and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND them and have them do any future work for me and my family. They showed up when they said they would, kept us informed of the progress, etc. I cannot say enough good things to really do them justice. I called them when we had the huge storm in Michigan mid January and my generator stopped working. The woman took my info and said that someone would call me back in the afternoon. No one ever did. thankfully Synder electrical was able to make an emergency call and send someone out quickly to get the generator up and running. read more

I had a very unique power issue that I called JD electric for. They came out quickly after calling and on the first visit the issue was not fully resolved. Though I was frustrated by the situation, I talked to the Jonathan and he came out as a courtesy to fix the problem since it was not fixed the first time. I needed an up-to-date electrical panel. Mine had fuses, not circuit breakers, and had just 100 amps for a large Victorian house. And just to add to the "fun", the box's location had to be moved. It was in a tight space so that only the thin could access it with any degree of comfort. Despite the season (winter), Mr. Donoho & company took on the task. It was supposedly an 8-hour job, but the two young men finished in just 6 hours. Their work is nice and neat both inside and out. They were very professional and informative. A couple more steps need to happen before the job is completely done--there's a homemade shower too near the new location and that must be capped off, but a plumber is scheduled to appear in two days. And the electrical service provider has to surface to make a final connection, plus a final inspection will need to be performed. These last bits will happen next week. read more

Absolutely FANTASTIC! I called and got a response back within a few hours. I was able to text with Jonathon, the Owner, who was the same person who came out to do the work. He came within the two hour time window and even gave me updates via automated text with time estimates of his arrival. Once here, Jonathon was super nice and explained everything as he went along. Our home is in Ypsilanti and it has some goofy wiring. Apparently, this is a common problem in this area. I needed Jonathon to troubleshoot why multiple plugs weren't working. He was able to see the problem immediately and fix it. For example, the plug on my deck wasn't working and he went into my garage, of all places, and pushed the GFI on one of the plugs out there and it immediately fixed the problem. Why the garage has anything to do with the deck, I don't know, but I'm glad he did! Fantastic work and JD is now my electric company! read more

I was given an estimate for the work that needed to be done after providing pictures and other information about the project and then was charged over three times the estimate for the work -- even though the technician could not figure out how to do the work, which is what accounted for the lengthy service call. However, beyond the extremely high time and materials costs for simple installing a recessed electrical outlet, this contractor insisted on also charging a $150 flat fee for the service call -- on top of the time and materials costs. Recently, a fan in one of the rooms stopped working. Some of the companies and local electricians I called wanted to know exactly what the problem was ( if I knew that I would not need an electrician!!) Obviously the job was too small for them and they couldn't be bothered. One guy suggested that maybe the batteries in the remote needed to be changed! When I called JD Electric, they scheduled a person to come within a couple of days. Since they were so responsive I decided to switch out a fan in another room as well. So, finally the job turned out to be buying 2 fans and installing them. Oday was very helpful, efficient and knowledgeable. I will certainly use JD Electric again. Incredible customer service! When the electrician came out to my house to install a simple coaxial cable he ended up spending most of the time educating me on my Wi-Fi set up and was incredibly helpful. He never tried to upsell me or add unnecessary things. In fact, he ended up losing out on some of his work and saving me money because he truly just wanted what was best for me and my home. I wanted to get a dedicated circuit added to my garage. I got 3 quotes and JD was the most inexpensive. They were nearly one-half of one quote and nearly one-third of another. This gave me pause that maybe going with the was not the best choice. JD electric was the best choice they did the job for about what I thought it should cost. In the quote he explained everything, and also noted that if things were not as they seemed outwardly then it would cost additional monies, detailing what that would cost. Things were what they seemed and the final price was the originally quoted price. The electrician that did it (Mike?) was personable and professional.
