Didn't need anything more or less. Perfection!) Nitro on point (and I have high standards with Miami's famous Panther Coffee as my benchmark) VALUE (cold brew + breakfast taco = $8.00. I came because I saw they had this lavender latte and it looked so amazing, but when I got there I ordered a RAINBOW LATTE instead because I saw some really pretty ones when I was in san fran so I was expecting the same here. What I got was a latte with sprinkles surrounding the lip of the mug. The latte itself was a bit sweet in combination with all the sprinkles it was even sweeter. It was smooth, but it wasn't what I was expecting. I wanted something as beautiful as the lavender latte. The CHAI LATTE sadly isn't as great as it was before. It's spiced, but lacking more chai. It's become milky. I come by every now and then, but perhaps I should get the lavender latte and see where that goes because I don't think I'll be ordering the chai or rainbow latte anytime soon. read more

This coffee shop is so cute and quaint, yet it stays so busy! I've tried to come in before but it was so busy I went somewhere else. I came back and was finally able to sit and enjoy some coffee. Their latte's are amazing. I think it is one of the best I have had to date. I had a hot vanilla latte and when I went back an hour later I got an iced latte. Really great. The "baristas" if that is what they call themselves are so sweet and welcoming. Be sure to tip if you can! This is a great place to read, converse, or study. I'm usually a black coffee drinker, and Fix is the perfect place to elevate that - instead of the just drip (which they do have 'til 12pm), there is aeropress, french press and chemex hot brews, and nitro and regular cold brews. Not only do you pick the style but you pick the beans/flavor profile and they're all roasted locally! If you're into the more "fun" drinks (which sometimes I will treat myself to), they have a variety of seasonal lattes (right now, honey lavender). I didn't try a flavor yet, but I was a huge fan of their plain oatmilk latte. In addition to stopping in for coffee, it is a great space to get work done - there are not a ton of outlets, but I have always been able to snag one thus far. I was in town for a wedding his past weekend and went to this wonderful coffee shop two days in a row. The first time was so great that I came back the next day and brought friends! Both times the staff was incredibly friendly and even taught us a little about how they were making the coffee. You can tell they genuinely love what the do and the community they serve. I have recently been getting into variations of honey lattes and was so pleased to find out they had a honey lavender one! It was delicious and beautiful! Back on that study grind so I need to get away from home and what better place to go then to a coffee shop! Fix Coffeebar is the go-to spot if you are trying to get work done. There are definitely no distractions besides it being a little chilly, so bring a thin sweater. The atmosphere is great, quiet, so you'll be able to get tons done if you turn your phone and social media off. LOL! Coffee was great! I ordered the caramel latte, and it was the perfect combo of steamed milk, espresso and a hint of caramel syrup! I also ordered the chocolate croissant, of course chocolate but it was okay. I did not think that I would find another coffee shop that I liked as much as Campesino. So I was pleasantly surprised when I had a meeting here. The one downside, as with many places in the Montrose area, is that parking is pretty slim to the ground. There are a few spots in the parking lot that you can use (a few are designated as to car parking). A chunk of the parking is taken up as one of the restaurants to the side has valet parking and some of the spots for that. However, there is always street, and it's not too hard to find. The inside is a smaller, there are about 10-12 small tables (seats 1-2) and two big longer tables that can seat 4-6. The interior has a nice decent feel to the place. It can be a bit chilly, so you may want to bring a light jacket when you come. There are some reachable plugs if you sit along the walls. The baristas are solid. No complaints in service. Bathroom i clean for the most part, no complaints. Def a fan of the Nitro-cold brew. All in all a very decent place to come when you're meeting up/getting work done. Bonus: Checking in should give you a discount on your first visit! read more

This is a lovely coffee shop on Westheimer near Sorrento and across the street from Dolce Vita. When our mid morning plans didn't work out, hubby and I went out on a coffee date, which we haven't done since our early years. Fix was the best location for this on a Sunday morning. I agree with the others on parking being sparse in the lot, but this section of Westheimer has lots of street parking. We walked in and felt a bit overwhelmed by options, but we ended up going with the Chemex slow drip. We let our lovely British barista choose a coffee that best pairs with the Chemex. It was a 20oz carafe/Chemex, so we were both able to have 2.5 cups. I foolishly added sugar to mine out of habit and regretted it. After I tasted my husband's condiment free cup And it was so much better than mine. Next time I get the Chemex, I am not adding anything to it. I've been here 3 times so far and I really like it. The seating is great, there is a lot of space, several outlets for people who want to do work, and a comfy vibe. First time: I got the nitro cold brew on recommendation from the barista. It was delicious and smooth - probably one of the best ones I've had in Houston. The only negative aspect of this experience was when a man (barista/manager?) came up to my friend (we were a group of 5) right when we got there and said she couldn't use the internet if she wasn't going to order anything. He was extremely rude and was assuming she wasn't going to order something eventually. It was also odd because xfinitywifi can be accessed from the cafe easily. After he left, another barista came up to my friend and apologized. I know my friend will never come back here. Second time: I got the nitro cold brew - still delicious. And the baristas are great and nice, one of them offered me another coffee on the house. Third/most recent time: this time I ordered a cappuccino. I would say it was good, but not as good as their nitro cold brew or probably some of their lattes based on other people's reviews. I noticed their parking situation changed and isn't the best. The 3 spots in front are reserved for people getting coffee to go. Essentially, you have to find street parking if you want to come here. Came here with a friend, I got the matcha latte with almond milk and he got the honey lavender latte (rly hyped). Honestly, the drinks were good, but nothing too special especially because the honey lavender wasn't super pronounced in either honey or lavender. Tasted like a regular latte with just a very light floral takeaway. Matcha latte wasn't very sweet though which I loved! Paired with almond milk it was super good, the nutty flavor rly pairs nicely with matcha. Interior is really cute and I noticed that all the people here were reading or working on laptops, so that's the type of ambiance you'd be dealing with, so it's nice and rather quiet compared to some other coffee shops. My only thing about this place is that the parking can be tricky. There are only 2 free parking spots and 2 To-Go only parking spots. Everything else is a reserved spot. Usually I'll just hop over to bar method and park around there though. The inside of the coffee place can be a little warm, but after a while it'll pick up and the air will start running and you'll get used to the temperature. Just for those of you who do prefer a cooler place to hang at, this information is for ya'll. But this place is very worth it. They have a board that tells you who your baristas are so you get to know the people who make your coffee. I love asking Karee for the specialty coffees. My favorite she's made me so far is the Honey Lavender Latte. I came once with my boyfriend and they were serving a Fig Latte with their own homemade fig marshmallow which was really good! I still have yet to try their pastries, but I also suggest (for those who love Americanos) to try their Cold Nitro Brew. The Cold Nitro Brew is basically your average drip coffee or Americano added with Nitrogen to give the coffee a very silky smooth texture. If it wasn't for the fact that I prefer my coffee bitter and not "Americano sour," then I would've loved this to have been by to go drink. But like most coffees that have added water in it, it was definitely sour. Which is how it's supposed to taste. I just prefer my coffee bitter and black on most days. But I do suggest you try it for the experience of trying the texture of a Cold Nitro Brew. As for studying, it's a great place to study-if you're next to a plug or if you don't plan to spend half of your day there with a full battery (laptop and phone). Otherwise it can be kind of a challenge like most cafés. I do hope that they'll look into adding more plugs or surge protectors like they do at A 2nd Cup. Otherwise this place is a very homey warm place to hang out at for really good coffee. read more

Updating my review with new complaints. My friend convinced me to go back after telling me this place was under new management. Based on other recent yelp reviews, and the fact that the menu was exactly the same as it was months ago, I know it is not under new management. Anyway. As other said, parking continues to be a problem here. As for my most recent visit, the mood was quiet. Everyone was studying with books out. A lot of folks including myself had headphones on. I actually have soundproof headphones that I keep on low to avoid damaging my ears. (This is important) all of a sudden the barista starts blasting some I don't even know what sounds from a speaker in the corner. Gongs and static? At some point when the noise could not be drowned out by my headphones safely, I noticed the "WTF IS THAT" stares from other customers and I asked the barista to lower the volume. He did. But it was still pretty loud. I straight up was ready to leave at that point because I swear it was just gongs banging, but he turned it off after 30 or so minutes. The coffee is SO DAMN GOOD. But I'll be damned if I go back and give that man any of my money. (See my other review if you wanna know why) read more

One of the ladies helping me was a little standoffish. Other lady helping me was super sweet and offered suggestions. Parking is awful. Continually some of the worst service I receive in Houston. No parking spots in the lot, they're all for to-go only and God forbid you're actually taking a drink to-go and park there, because they'll come audit you if you're parked there for more than 5 minutes while I'm there waiting for my DRINK. If you have a wire plugged into the wall, they have a problem with that. If you move a chair to sit with a larger group, they have a problem with that. I once was planning on purchasing a drink but needed to log-in to my work laptop and send out a few emails before ordering, immediately the owner came up to me and said I couldn't sit there without ordering something, like I was getting to it man - just give me a few minutes! Probably some of my favorite lattes in Houston but they're truly driving their own customers away with this hostile behavior. read more

This place has quality coffee, that is unarguable. However management is incredibly hostile and rude. I have come here countless times and I have had unpleasant experiences with both the staff and owners on multiple different occasions. Having a good product is one thing, but that can't sustain you for long when you are actively driving customers away with sour experiences. May I suggest a customer care 101 class? Stopped in over the weekend for a quick breakfast. We ordered 2 iced coffees and 2 pastries. First off, yay for having a savory pastry! I really enjoyed my open faced spinach croissant thing. It had a little kick from red pepper and was warmed up before serving which was nice. The iced coffee was good and really neat that they serve it from what looks like a brewtap. They also have nitro iced coffee which we didn't try. I'm old school. My only objection is that the total came to $17. Ouch! read more

Omg I looooove this coffee spot!!! It's clean inside, the music isn't blaring and the coffee is AMAZING. I've had their chai latte and matcha latte (theirs is traditional matcha so make sure if you're used to the sweetened kind like Starbucks, you ask them to lightly sweeten it). They have a very large selection of teas and they also offer seasonal drinks. Outlets are lined against the wall, but are not available for the tables in the middle. EXCELLENT service as well. These baristas know their product but aren't snobby about it. In a city full of dingy, run down, dimly lit, overly loud coffee shops with bad service.... Fix definitely shines! Next time I come, I would like to try the Honey Lavender latte (seasonal item) or their very popular cold brew. Great spot!! I have to be honest - I don't get the hype. I've been here three times now and haven't been able to finish a single one of their beverages. I've gotten the famous nitro cold brew and found it looked 100% better than it tasted. I got an iced coffee that was just undrinkable - it tasted like it had been left out all night. I got a regular hot coffee, and it had that same stale taste. I guess I'm just not hip enough to appreciate whatever is going on with this coffee? The parking situation is uncool. There are rarely available designated "Fix" spots and if you park in their "to-go" spots they not-so-subtly remind you while you're paying that your coffee is to-go (joke's on you, I'm staying). The iPad screen that presumes tips is a little annoying because then you feel like a jerk if you don't tip - but since when is tipping standard in this kind of business? I bring the coffee to the creamer station and then to the table myself. I also bought one of their locally-made "superfood bars" and while it was complexly tasty and healthy (kudos to its manufacturer), it was about half the size of a Clif's bar and cost $4.50. C'mon now - that's neither a Houston portion, nor a Houston price. Three stars are because the counter people are friendly and good-humored, the other pastries are quite good and fresh, and my friends who have ordered lattes have enjoyed them. I needed to kill some time in the heights so I decided to give this place a try. I read prior reviews and felt the honey lavender latte calling my name. It tasted just as good as I thought it would be. The sweetness level was just right & it just felt so smooth going down. I used the first time check in offer to save a buck, but it will usually run you $5. I was disappointed to receive a latte without the beautiful design that it usually comes with. I love latte art & I felt I missed out which is why I'm removing a star. Consistency is key in both flavor and presentation. I came on a Saturday afternoon and had to park around the corner. Fix Coffeebar recently opened up in the heart of Montrose about 9-weeks ago (Late June 2016). I went on a Thursday with my girlfriend to get some work done. It's located in a small plaza shared with Tejas Boots and Sorrento Ristorante Italiano, and parking may be limited depending on the hours you come through. When we arrived, we noticed how quiet it was. There was light music playing, but it was a super chill atmosphere. We went up to order our drinks and encountered Gary. He was incredible and probably the most helpful barista I have ever come across in Houston. He explained all of the different coffee contraptions in the shop, the beans they had that week and why they're different, and he even let me sample some drinks. I ended up going with the Cold Brewed Iced Coffee for $3.25. They brew this overnight without heat for over 16-hours, and Gary infuses it with tiny nitrogen bubbles to make it extra creamy and rich without sacrificing flavor. He even served it to me in a stout glass! Was I drinking a beer, or a coffee? Either way, I loved it. This was the best cold brew I've had in Houston. We will definitely be coming back! I don't write many reviews but Fix Coffeebar has earned it. What really tipped it over today was that I ordered my normal drink here (the Nitrobrew, which is stellar and refreshing and doesn't get watered down by ice) and the co-owner (unfortunately I don't know his name, but he is a very friendly guy with a British accent) brought me another Nitrobrew because he said the one he gave me was from the bottom of the batch. I didn't even complain about the original Nitrobrew because it was still delicious, but the new one is even creamier and smoother. I really don't encounter that kind of service anymore, so I appreciated their attention to customer service.
