Where asking a question feels like you're interrupting someone's day. So today, when I took my son to Ted's Hot Dogs. This is a place I've been going to since the 1900s (as my kids love to remind me ). I didn't expect much. Things had changed since my childhood days, but the food had always remained good! I just missed the days when the same guy worked the grill and knew my name and my order by heart. But then, today... There was Karen. Yes, Karen!! Standing over a grill in 117° Arizona heat, she greeted us with patience, kindness, and an actual smile. She let my son take his time ordering without making him feel rushed. And when the ketchup was empty, she didn't shrug it off or point us in another direction. She didn't hand me a thousand little packets since the pump was empty. She simply took care of it. Was it just ketchup? Sure. But it also wasn't. It was someone choosing to care. When other patrons had notified other staff multiple times it was out - Karen found a simple solution without excuses! These days... that feels rare. We've spent years turning the name "Karen" into a punchline. But today, I met the kind of Karen the world could use a whole lot more of. If you're her manager and you're reading this... take good care of her. Promote her. Clone her if science ever figures that out. Because people like Karen don't just serve food - they create loyal customers who keep coming back!! In a world that tells us what a "Karen" is... be this Karen.

We waited in line to to order and after waiting about 25 minutes, we were helped. The cashier was stressing but was friendly. We ordered three traditional hot dogs with everything on top and a side of bacon cheese fries. Since it was national glizzy day, our hot dogs were supposed to be BOGO. We sat down and waited another 25 minutes until finally our buzzer beeped. We picked up our tray and noticed we were only given 5 hot dogs, not 6. We didn't mention anything just because we saw how busy it still was. The hot dogs were actually pretty good. They were a decent size and flavorful. We really liked the bacon fries and it was enough to share between us three. There was an employee keeping the tables clean and picking up trash - he was friendly. Will de be back to try out some more food!

One of my favorite things about Dog Haus is that they have delicious vegan options alongside their regular menu. The vegan burgers and hot dogs are so good you wouldn't know they're plant-based. They also serve breakfast, have a happy hour, and host trivia nights. The staff has always been friendly, but service can slow down when it gets busy since the bartender is often also taking orders at the front counter. The only other downside is that certain seating areas can have a sewer-like smell, likely from being near the lake, which isn't ideal while eating. Overall, the food, drinks, and friendly staff keep us coming back. Definitely worth a visit!

When I found out there are a bunch in the Phoenix area I decided to stop by and see what all the hype is about. I had the #2 combo which was two hot dogs, fries, and a drink. I upgraded to large so with tax it was just over $16. The hot dogs tasted ok but they were on the smaller size (I found out later that you can get larger versions). Each had a pickle spear that was bigger than the actual hot dogs themselves. I know that's considered a classic Chicago-dog staple but it seemed excessive. Overall it was ok food and next time I'll try the chocolate cake shake everyone talks about.

When visiting the Chuck Box know that it is cash only (ATM on-site), and super popular. There WILL be a line. The line does move extremely fast, due to the fact that the line cooks are definitely not waiting until you get to the counter to take your order. They will call out to anyone in line (regardless of where in line you are) and take your order, yelling it out if needed. It is such a unique and fun experience. The burgers are not overpriced and are phenomenal! It is self serve toppings, after you pay for your order you can go to the topping bar and add as much to your burger as your heart desires. They additionally have other food on the menu such as veggie burger, chicken sandwhiches, chicken tenders, onion rings, fries, fried zuchinni, fried mushrooms, and more. I have had both the fried zuchinni and mushrooms and I would definitely recommend both options! Since it really popular, be aware that there is limited seating and it is crowded. It is additionally extremely warm (especially during the summer) inside the building due to the grill. If you have not already checked out the Chuck Box, I would definitelly recommend that you check it out as soon as possible!!!

To start, my burger tasted pretty good. The cheese was good. Bun was a little dry and stale. The lettuce was yellow and chopped and looked several days old and slightly rotten. Two of my tomatoes had active mold growing on them. It was too dark inside to see it but we ate in the car and saw the moldy spot then. The fries are good but way too salty. We really liked the fried mushrooms. But we made our own dipping sauce which was better than the ranch they give you: mix 2/3 mustard and 1/3 Mayo. Tangy and delicious. We get these at "The Windmill" when we go to the jersey shore and the sauce that comes with the fried mushrooms is a horseradish sauce which is amazing (hint hint, Chuck Box). I would eat here again but bring a flashlight to inspect the produce and lower my expectations. It was good, not great. It smelled kind of off in here also. The AC and vents probably need to be cleaned.
