I usually love the burgers and fries here but don't go very often because it's very expensive. Their food quality has been slipping lately, but my last experience was the final straw. I got a take out order of a Little Bacon Cheeseburger, a large fry, and a drink ($24.07). When I got to the restaurant, they hadn't even started cooking the fries. After waiting, I took my order home (less than a mile in the car.) I opened the bag to discover my $9 order of french fries were both cold and burnt to a crisp. Completely inedible. The restaurant would not answer my calls over the course of an hour and the online form to complain took over fifteen minutes to fill out. If the restaurant had made it possible to complain to them directly, I would have done that. But here we are. I can't describe how pissed I am wasting my money on inedible food. read more

It was my first time trying five guys. I heard a lot of mix reviews about this place, so I had to try it out for myself. The restaurant was well maintained very clean. The service was nice and quick. There's also free peanuts that you can munch on while you wait for your orders. Little Bacon Burger was made well, but the patty was very blend. I guess they don't season their patties. Plus you can add as much condiments as you wish . As for my bacon burger I added lettuces, tomatoes, pickles, and grilled mushrooms. Note the grilled mushrooms was flavor less.. Little Burger with grilled onions,grilled mushrooms, mayo, and jalapeños wasn't that bad, but still on the blend side. Grilled Cheese with pickles was surprisingly good. I don't always eat meat, but when I do - I Yelp about it! After much anticipation this Five Guys, Studio City location has opened :) It's in the space that Baja Fresh use to be and I'm happy to have it here - I'm sure my iron levels are too. I don't eat a lot of meat and I haven't had Five Guys since last year so I couldn't wait for this place to open. Stopped in this evening - it's certainly not as crazy crowded as the location I tried in NY. There is plenty of seating and they had a continuous flow of guest around 5P. I did notice the chairs seemed a little flimsy and cheap but heck you aren't waiting around for a seat and it was so hot the last time I went to the location in Palm Springs, I was just happy to be indoors in the AC. This place is a happy medium between the other two locations I've tried and a nice addition to the neighborhood. I had the little bacon burger (which is by no means little) and my son had the bacon dog. We ordered the Cajun fries to try, which were good but highly seasoned. One order of fries will easily feed 3-4 people. My burger was great - messy but great! and I had a bite of my son's bacon dog which was good - but not an item I'd order myself. I prefer the bacon wrapped hot dogs they serve at Farmers Market. Peanuts are always free and there is metered parking out front or free parking behind the building. Finally made it to a Five Guys to see what all the hype is about. Little Hamburger: 3.5/5 broken down by component: Bun: 4/5. Not your typical hamburger bun, it seems more like a roll. Very fresh and delicious but not big enough. The contents spilled out multiple times during hamburger consumption, which is kinda awkward. Hamburger patty: 3/5. Obviously super fresh but very bland. Toppings: 3/5. My choices were lettuce, tomato, mustard, grilled mushrooms and jalapeño. Not very flavorful, surprisingly. As if they forgot the salt! Fries: 4/5. The Cajun fries are pretty freaking awesome and packed plenty of flavor and spice. Drinks: 5/5. They have a great selection of sodas. Went with the bacon cheeseburger, no bun so they put it in a tin with grilled onion, grilled mushrooms, pickles, and lettuce with a side of mayo. Over at the fancy drink dispenser I nearly cried when I saw that they had orange Fanta Zero. By the time I filled up my cup ( a few times), my order was ready. I took a little basket of peanuts with me and went on my way. When I got home I started with the basket of peanuts and then opened up that little folied cover tin, I was greeted by a beautiful cheeseburger. The bacon was tasty and the cheese melted and gooey. I was so excited to see I had a five guys near me. I placed my order through Amazon and I received it in 20 minutes, so that part was great, but that's only because AMAZON pulled through. The burger was disgusting. The hamburger patty was not one patty,it was three different pieces of a patty(or several?)slapped on to a bun that was so soggy on the bottom that you couldn't pick it up without everything falling out. The fries, OMG, the fries.. I had heard so many great things about them. The fries are absolutely disgusting as you will see in my picture. They were so full of grease that they couldn't hold her own weight you couldn't pick one up and try to put it in your mouth because it was like trying to eat a (cooked) spaghetti noodle while trying to hold it straight up. The only positive thing I can say about this place is that the taste of the ground beef was good. It tasted like quality beef. I don't think I've ever met a burger or a fry that I didn't like. Quick review; Tasty burger that's highly customizable. Bbiaf. I had about 600 calories to kill after a good workout, decided on a plain style burger from Five Guys. This might seem like a boring order; little bacon burger with A1 sauce. But I was trying to keep it lean and mean. It worked. The meat had great flavor to it, nice char on the outside. Some fat drippage which is always a good sign in a burger. The bacon was very crunchy though, like a brittle. Soft sesame seed bun I like. And dressed appropriately with the A1 sauce I chose. It tasted like a smoky steak burger in the end, not bad for under 600 cals. Although I gotta say, like my burgers a little thicker. Maybe a regular size patty had that, I'm not sure. I've always gotten a little version of there burgers. The burger here was well done, as most burgers joints tend to do. It's to be expected. But maybe I can ask to see if they can do med for me? Well see. I'll write an update when I do. I like my bacon to have more of a chew then a brittle crunch. Again, you can't expect everything to be catered to you. In general I bet most people like bacon done this way. I'm ok with it. But there's a 'bacon bliss zone' I love when the bacon is crispy and still has chew. Crunchy is when you've over cooked the bacon imo. I'll probably put this place above In-N-Out and Fatburger. 2 spots that are in the same calibre. It just seemed like a better burger to me on all accounts. Like I said, next time I'll get it made proper and give you guys a better appraisal on what it is. I actually really like the burgers here. And when you go there I've had good service. But it really pisses me off with how they play games with the phones. They don't pick up! And when they do, they put you on hold, and then DON'T PICK UP! And when you call back they still don't answer until the line goes dead. Been here a few times and the service has been pretty good. I would say that their burgers are one of the best around. It is a little pricey, but remember that it comes with 2 patties instead of 1 and you can add extra toppings like onions and mushrooms as part of the price. The fries are always fresh with the skin on. It's seasoned well and crispy. Their potatoes come from different farms and I believe that changes every day. I like the variety of drinks available and you can mix it up. I also like that they have roasted peanuts available while you wait for your food. read more

I guess everyone is blinded by all the additions to the burger. Once you remove the bun and the ketchup, BBQ sauce the burger looks like the same as a McDonald's happy meal patty. I'm very happy they finally opened up a location out here. Been here 3 times since they've opened last week and each time gets better. The workers are always really friendly, which is great cuz I'm always first to complain if they're not. The first time i went there during grand opening, with all the toppings i had on there, my burger was pretty flat. It was delicious but still flat. Second and third time, was perfect! I ordered mine with all the extras, and extra of it. The burger was massively fat, just the way it should be. Their fries are perfect for me, there are many people out there that love soggy fries, i guess with all the complaints Five Guys gets for "crappy soggy fries" they get just as much for the love of them. I love In & Out and Fatburger, and like Habit. However Five guys has so much more flavor and freshness than all three to me. I can see how people would think that Five Guys is overpriced but i just cant agree with that, you get freshness and SO many included toppings for the price. This is in every way a great deal for a great burger. It may be overpriced for people who don't utilize many toppings on their burger but for the MANY people that do that normally pay $1 extra per topping at other burger joints, this is a perfect deal. Grilled mushrooms, grilled bell peppers, grilled jalapenos, etc etc and the option to get EXTRA of it, all included in the price is a freakin steal. Granted that In & Out is also fresh, that's why its so delicious, their meat patty is not fresh out of pack, formed and pressed like Five Guys & Fatburger. Five Guys is not a good idea for anyone in the entertainment industry trying to watch their figure. It's so ADDICTING! I come here from time to time to have a little splurge day. This is a great location. The employees are always super friendly. They even offer lettuce wraps to those of us who are Gluten Free! The parking is pretty convenient. There is a private garage that is free, no validation required, and there is always available parking. It takes a good while for the food to cook because every order is cooked to order but it is worth it. Overall, I like this place and location. My first visit at a Five Guys - was really excited about going. The menu is a little confusing as I ordered a regular burger not knowing it came with two pattys. I would have been find with one patty (that' the little one). I order fries and waited at a table for them to call my number. When they called my number I went up to get it and saw it in a brown paper bag. I said i was going to eat it there and they said all of their food was served in brown paper bags and there was no option to a tray or anything. I look in the bag and see a ball of aluminum foil and fries in a paper cup and most of them all over the aluminum foil ball. I guess they literally throw everything in a bag. When I got to my seat I see that the bag is covered in grease stains which was turn off #1. I had no choice but to rip the bag open and use it as a tray. Turn off #2. Since the burger is wrapped in foil it is really hot so I have to wait to be able to unwrap it. Turn off #3. So I end up munching on fries waiting for the burger to cool down. I like to eat my fries with my burger. The burger was just OK - I didn't know what toppings to get so I just ordered "over the top" which came with some generic toppings. None of the flavors popped. Even the meat was bland - just two patties of beef. I wished for more flavor.....kind of disapponted. I don't know what people do when they get it to go - since the bag is so greasy. I was very impressed with my first visit to 5 guys. There were a lot of options to choose from (and yes I always have questions), and the guy taking my order was very helpful and very patient! I thought that a regular cheeseburger would be to much for me (since it is 2 patties), so I went with a little. It was the perfect size! I added some bbq sauce on it. It made it very messy, but it tasted great. The packaging could be better :( Their burgers remind me of the burgers that you get at a family bbq. Outside seating is limited, and it was too cold inside for us to sit, so we ended up eating at another location. FOOD: I've eaten at Five Guys twice and can say that the burger is good. A lot of tasty standard toppings. However, the price of the burger reflects that. A simple burger and fries order at In N Out will come out to around $5. An order at Five Guys will run you over $8. So is Five Guys 60% tastier than In N Out. No. It has its merits but isn't so amazing that I'd spend that regularly over In N Out. However, I really like how they used unpeeled cuts of potato for their fries. SERVICE: At this location the guys that were working there were really friendly and accommodating and wanted to make sure the meal was enjoyable. Even when they had to tell a homeless guy that he was not allowed to come inside the restaurant and pan handle it was handled well. For these reasons I gave them an extra star. read more
