    Carney's Hot Dog
    Steve S.

Definitely some delicious hot dogs here. I went with Carney's dog, that comes with tomatoes, onions and their hearty, delicious chili. I also asked for my hot dog frank to be split and then grilled and that made it even more tasty. The frank had nice char marks and was juicy all throughout. Great dog! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance here is special, as you're located inside of a former real train carriage.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]That gives out the vibes of excitement, like you're grabbing a quick hot dog before reaching the next town.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Customer service here is attentive and professional. Good experience for a quick, quality hot dog.

I've been here at least 3 times I really love their burger dog. Never disappoints. Always with them yellow peppers of course. The service is ok not above and beyond no big deal but still. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I came on a Tuesday after work it was not packed we were able to get a table to eat outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I prefer the outside just feels less cluster phobic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But overall I will go again mostly because of the amazing food!

my cheeseburger with all the goodies inside. Delicious!

Choo Choo, beware of other trains! We will be boarding in about 10 minutes:-))! Get your luggages, kids, and all passengers! ALL ABOARD the train is about to move, so grab your seats, before you miss the train. I am so surprised that I haven't done a review on Carneys all these years that I have been going there. This place is iconic, historic, yet practical in every way. It's a burger joint that makes you feel like you are really eating in the train, but the train is not moving. I can't say enough good things about Carneys and the staff. Always helpful, kind, nice, take your order and in less than 5 minutes, you grab a seat on the train and eat whatever you have ordered. It's SO good! In every way! I was doing last minute Christmas shopping around the area and was craving some Cheeseburger and their chili fries. Let's not forget there chocolate dipped bananas. YUM! Walked in on 12/23/25 and there were like 7 people ahead of me. That line was cleared so fast that I didn't even feel like I was standing in line. Got their regular Cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, light onions, with their Thousand Island dressing, Also got regular size chili fries and the food was sooooo gooooood!!!! They have jalapeño peppers, chili peppers, and all the other condiments that go with great hot dogs, burgers, fries and all. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Place is super clean, abundant parking spaces, cute patio, and right outside of the restaurant they have 2 bathrooms. Both clean!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Good menu options to choose from! See you again very soon. Carneys and staff, you are AWESOME!!

While I lived in Los Angeles I visited Carney's at least one a week. The very best chili burgers I've had. My order was always the same, A double chili burger with fries and a large Coke or Pepsi. I live about eight miles away in Los Angeles, and Carney's is the only thing I really missed since when I life in the spring of 2015.

Carney's is a great diner. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The experience of eating in an old Railroad car is wonderful and that ambience is matched by the amazing food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Everything is cooked to order and all the employees are wonderful. I tried a Carney's Dog with Chili Cheese fries and my friend had a cheeseburger. All of them were delicious and you recieve generous toppings on everything. To the point that next time I think I'll just get regular fries cause there was enough chili on the hot dog for both it and to top the fries. Not that I'm complaining. Everything was a delight and I look forward to coming back again. They also have some great old school shirts for sale.

This place is an institution in Los Angeles. Fantastic chili cheeseburgers, chili cheese fries, shakes, and desserts for people who love a great greasy spoon. Went there today, and the people are super nice. Someone walked in and ordered a half gallon of chili? So, yah, people love this place, and rightfully so!

Love Carneys!! Been here a couple times and def will be back for more. Their burgers are fresh and I love their menu bc you can get a small or big patty. Their hotdogs are also really good!! And their fries can also be thin or thick and I love that. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Staff is super quick and this place is always clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I also love trains lol.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Delicious!! Thanks!

Going (way back) to my late teenage years, I was a Hot Dog / Hamburger addict. Los Angeles was my hometown and I had a ton of places to (as we said back then) "Do My Thing"! I had: Bob's Big Boy, Orange Julius, Scott's, The Apple Pan, Cassells, Original Tommy's, Hamburger Hamlet and a ton more. Most of this list is long gone. But there are a few that still lingering. Such is one I visited yesterday for old time sake - Carney's in Studio City. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This Old Train Car Restaurant threw me back 50 years; and it was a fantastic piece of nostalgia that I loved.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]As you enter this train, the old photographs and all kinds of memorabilia hit you like a tornado; very cool![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Their menu is pretty much the same except for a few new healthier dishes; I went for the healthier. My Chinese Chicken Salad was pretty damn good. It was big, with all kinds of "Good Stuff" with a very good peanut dressing to boot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]In my old days I would have jumped all over a cheeseburger or hotdog, but I was very satisfied with my salad, and just lounging in a real live train car.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This visit was a great trip down memory lane, it's been 25 years since I have visited Carneys in Studio City. I was surprised how much things have grown around this location. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The Train car alone brought back so many great memories.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Not a lot has changed, the food options are plentiful. We went for it during this trip, not sure when I will be back. We had an original Carney's hotdog with chili, onions and mustard, under the Red Eye menu we also had the Carneys hotdog with a sausage and chili, this was tied in with chili fries and Train wreck Fries, with grilled onions and thousand island dressing. I really enjoyed the chili, I love Tommy's chili but Carneys chili is just slightly better. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside of the train car seem so small, they had many seating options inside and outdoors they have multiple seating areas.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You will find the restrooms in the front train car.

Garden burger and train wreck fries

Carneys is such a Valley staple. I grew up coming here and it still hits every time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The fact that it's inside a retired train car makes it extra unique, and it has both indoor and outdoor seating (I came during a rush and still managed to grab a spot).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Parking is easy thanks to the lot and I usually find myself making Amazon returns at the Staples next door just to have an excuse to stop here. Food-wise, I love their vegetarian options. My go-to is the Veggie Sandwich (basically everything in a burger without the patty), but this time I tried the Garden Burger and it was also really solid. The real standout though is the Train Wreck Fries. Think In-N-Out's Animal Style fries, but in my opinion way better--loaded with cheese, grilled onions, and sauce. They're addicting and my absolute favorite thing on the menu. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is a little dated and the menu can feel overwhelming at first since there's a ton of choices, but honestly, the food makes up for it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service isn't super fast, but the chefs are always friendly and the quality is consistently great. My friends who eat meat always enjoy the burgers and hot dogs. If you're in Sherman Oaks, Carneys is a must. Classic, nostalgic, and always satisfying.

All aboard for the best carney on earth!!

Realized I didn't include a pic??! Silly me - THE dog and chili fries and that slogan is absolutely the TRUTH!

Polish Sausage with sauerkraut and mustard, and chili cheese fries.
    Leigh M.

What a neat, unique fast food place. I've driven by here so many times and today was the day to stop in. I had a polish sausage "New Yorker" style with sauerkraut and mustard and chili/cheese fries. I can't say I was that impressed with either of my choices. Maybe a burger would have been a better option? Not sure I'll be back but it was definitely a ln experience.

Wow have passed this place countless times maybe a thousand times! Always said I'm going but until today I did and was so worth it! The chili cheese fries so delicious! The double cheeseburger well cooked! The LA dog! The ambiance is just so cozy!

Looking at my old Yelp photos compared to what we got now, they are not the same fries. We each ate maybe 10 fries before giving up and leaving to get curly fries from a late night fast food place instead. The ranch also tasted like Italian vinaigrette dressing and not ranch at all. The girls working are always super friendly and sweet, but the guy manager was cold and honestly rude. We also waited forever just to place our order. Like easily 6 minutes in silence standing at the counter being the only ones there. I really hope they can turn things around because the old Crave had some of the best fries in Studio City and I would often show up with 5-10 people at night for the pizza fries and / or the basic fries alone. My fiancé finally gave it a try through Uber Eats, and after my first bite of their Chicken Shawarma Half Pita Sandwich, I completely understood the hype. And when you see a Buy 1, Get 1 Free deal on a sandwich this good... how can you pass it up? The half pita is filled with chicken shawarma, tomato, onion, parsley, tahini, and amba sauce, all tucked into freshly baked pita. Everything tastes incredibly fresh, flavorful, and well-balanced, and the portion is surprisingly filling for a quick meal. I love Mediterranean food, and this has become one of those easy go-to options where I already know I'm going to be happy with what I order. We've gotten the Chicken Shawarma Half Pita several times now, and the consistency is what really keeps me coming back. It's just as tasty every time, which is a big deal when you're ordering delivery. The flavors are bright and fresh without feeling heavy, and for me it's the perfect combination of delicious and still feeling like a pretty healthy choice when I need something quick. We also tried the fries once, and I have to agree with the other Yelpers--they absolutely live up to the hype. I'm definitely looking forward to branching out and trying more of the menu, especially since Avi Cue specializes in artisanal Wagyu shawarma and clearly takes the quality of their ingredients seriously. And then there was last night's order, which honestly deserves its own mention. At 9:59 p.m., I suddenly realized I hadn't eaten dinner yet. I checked Google and it actually showed Avi Cue as closing at 10:00 p.m., but Uber Eats was still allowing me to place an order. I figured there was a pretty good chance it might be canceled, especially that late at night, and honestly, I completely understand when restaurants aren't able to take those last-minute orders. But Avi Cue accepted it, a driver picked it up within minutes, and my food arrived quickly--still just as fresh and delicious as it has been during the dinner rush. I was genuinely surprised and so appreciative. That was the icing on the cake for me! LA has no shortage of places to grab a quick bite, but Avi Cue has become one of my favorites. Fresh, flavorful, filling, consistent, and easy to count on when I need a great meal without making a whole production out of dinner. For now, that Chicken Shawarma Half Pita has my heart.
