    Dog Pup Cup

I went in last night to get a quick dinner with my sister and my dogs. The nicest cashier offered to give a pup cup with cute little homemade dog treats inside. He kindly made two portions for my big dog that he saw outside. I can't seem to remember his name, but if he sees this he knows. Can't recommend enough!!! Thank you cashier!!!! Much love

My first comment is always about parking. It's metered on a very busy Ventura Blvd with some free side street parking that requires a short walk. The outside patio and inside dining areas were very clean. You place your order on a computer and take a number, whether dining in or taking out. My only interaction with the staff was them bringing out my order, but my "server" was very pleasant. I tried the French Onion 'Shroom Burger. The portobello was thick and "meaty". The caramelized onions were too sweet and overwhelming for me. Might be better with less. The Parmesan Garlic Fries were disappointing. They're expensive, and the parm was tasteless. It was like what you get in that canister we all know, instead of shaved parm. The dipping sauce was good. They have better menu options.

1000/1000 it's exactly what I expected it to be! Delicious, cold and full of flavor. I made the actual chocolate before so once I learned that Shake shack had the Dubai chocolate shake I had to run to get it. It is about $10 so a little pricey, but it's so delicious with the frozen chocolate all around the cup. It cracks perfectly. It's totally worth the hype with lots of ingredients all throughout the shake. They aren't sticky on the ingredients and I got it very fast within maybe five minutes. They also have games that you can play when you're dining such as being Beta, connect for, guess who etc. it was super fun to come here and pray that while enjoying my shift on this nice day. Love it!

    The three bite $15 burger.

Quality, taste, and size have gone down. We ordered burger, chicken bites, fries and onion rings. Only the onion rings tasted good. Very overpriced for what they are serving.

Was in the area, swung by for this free burger promotion (after making a purchase). Shake burger (3/5) It's a notch better than a hamburger off the dollar menu of McDonalds, but for 10x the price. It's basically a McDonald burger with a better bun, possibly a bun that's nearly at the same quality as In and Out, but not toasted. Hot dog (2/5) It's like a hot dog from Costco, but shorter and for 5x the price. Maybe I should've came here for the shakes or something, but I have a feeling... that it might be like... Wendy's, that's almost the same quality but... 10x... the price...

I'm happy Shake Shack opened in Studio City in this section of Ventura Blvd. They have several locations around town and the location in Burbank was our go to, but this is more convenient. I think it's a good spot for them and they're around other popular eateries. Shake Shack's burgers are always fresh and I like their crinkle fries. They often offer specialty menu items for their burgers or chicken sandwiches, and while I've tried some of them, their classic Shake Shack burger is hard to beat. Their packaging is great. Their customer service is usually always friendly. I don't like the order kiosks but I'm sure they're efficient. I've been eating at Shake Shack for years. Started monitoring their webcam years ago in Madison Square Park in NYC before heading over there because the lines in 2005 were long. Fast forward many years and now there's a Shake Shack in lots of places. I hope they keep up their quality and service with their expansion.

I've only gone to the Encino and Topanga location before this and the few times I went, the food didn't change or get better - the patties (even though they are smash burgers) were like McD's patties in terms of size. The service was like any generic fast food spot. Prices were high in comparison to the amount of food, so I stuck to the competitors for a while. Fast forward, and I saw a deal for their SmokeShack burger. I looked up locations and saw this Studio City one and decided to try Shake Shack again. I was very pleasantly surprised this time in regards to the food quality, portions, and service. I had only tried their shroom ShackStack and ShackBurger prior to this. Order - 2x SmokeShack (2x patties + onions) 2x ShackBurgers (2x patties + onion + pickles) Both burgers were extremely flavorful and what I would expect Shake Shack to serve its customers if all aspects were perfectly aligned - high quality juicy patties had the perfect taste, bite and size, non-sad/wilted looking tomato slices and onions and lettuce - the burgers actually looked like how the pictures are. I was full off one and would definitely eat here again without the deal, *IF they keep serving food like this and NOT downsizing like other locations after getting initial reviews and customers.* Outside/inside is your standard Shake Shack setup with the glowing LED sign, wooden tables/chairs, and large clean interior with a lot of seating areas. Lots of street parking in front but it's on Ventura Blvd shared with surrounding stores, might be an issue during the day. Josue was one of the friendliest and upbeat people I've encountered at a restaurant recently. Homie came out to make sure I didn't get double charged as my orders were separate, and even boxed my order with a lid when I asked him for a lid to go. Helpful and seemed genuinely interested in giving good customer service. Shake Shack if you're reading this, Josue should be the front face at the least. I can't say the same for the current front face, won't get into detail but tall hefty dude was having a bad day or that's how he is - regardless, shouldn't spill over into work especially as the "main" person you talk to when entering the restaurant. 1 star off for this.

Chicken Shack, Classic burger, Cheese Fries!

This review is from Feb of 2024. This place is SO good. We went here when it was raining during LA's recent winter storm and all the employees were just ready to serve. Tavon was so nice and significantly improved our experience with refills and friendly service. Onto the food, the chicken shack was quite possibly the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. Crispy, juicy, perfect amount of mayo, bread was fresh and ratio to meat was low (which is awesome). The cheese fries felt like velveeta heaven meets high-level fries, and the burger patty was smashed but not overly thin. The strawberry lemonade was FIRE and we got like three refills (which are free btw). We honestly had such a good time there we needed to order again, so we whipped out a 10 piece chicken bite and normal fry with honey mustard. Everything here was packed with flavors and completely different from a shake shack I've had somewhere else. Changed my view of the franchise entirely honestly. We heard this location just came out a few weeks ago, so come on out to support them and have some AMAZING burgers!~

Great location. Ample seating outside and inside. Parking is very limited on Ventura. Additional parking in the back if you enter behind Sweetgreens. They primarily have self checkout screens to place your order. Which I don't like. Especially, when they suggest or offer a Tip Option before checkout. A live human assisting me with my order would increase their potential for a higher tip. I ordered the avocado bacon cheeseburger. Ordered the chicken nuggets for my son and he didn't like them. The fries and fountain drinks were good. Establishment was very clean and sterile. I'd recommend. Prices were slightly higher than your average burger stand.

I was in the area and I have never had Shake Shack before. It is definitely on my list now, the burger was delicious and the service was quick! The only thing I did not like was the parking situation, I found it hard to find a good parking spot close by.

We were all craving burgers, and nothing hits like a fresh smash burger. I ordered the double cheeseburger with bacon and all the toppings, plus a side of sweet potato fries and a cold brisk tea. Everything was delicious. The restaurant was super clean and had a festive vibe with Christmas music playing, which we loved. The staff were very welcoming, and the customer service was top-notch. I placed an online order through their website, and it quoted about a 25-minute prep time with a ready window around 2:56 -3:06 PM. I planned accordingly and even arrived earlier so I could pick it up fresh and avoid waiting. However, just five minutes after placing the order, I received a text saying it was already ready. That immediately raised a red flag, because if you're paying $13+ for a double burger, you expect it to be made closer to your arrival time, not immediately. When I arrived, the burger was already cold. When I brought this up, the employee I spoke with repeatedly said "it's not my fault" and pointed to someone else, instead of taking any ownership or even acknowledging the issue. It was a really poor way to handle a simple customer concern. Eventually, after some back and forth, the burger was remade, but I had to wait another 10-15 minutes. And ironically, it took longer to make it this time than it did after I placed the online order. But then now I wa stuck waiting defeating the whole purpose of ordering ahead. A manager eventually came over and was polite, but by that point the experience had already been frustrating. They also threw away the original burger instead of offering to let me keep it, which felt wasteful. On top of that, when I asked for a couple cups of water for my daughter, I was told I'd need to purchase a bottle, which felt pretty tone-deaf given the situation and didn't even think to offer me any anything for the misunderstanding and having to wait extra time now... The bigger issue here is the lack of coordination and communication. If you're going to quote customers a pickup time, especially for hot food, the order should be made accordingly--not immediately after it's placed. Otherwise, you're guaranteeing that the food won't be fresh when the customer arrives. Between the timing issue, the lack of ownership from staff, and the overall handling of the situation, this was a disappointing experience. I usually like the food, but the service and process today really need improvement.

Yowza! Luckily, Hi Ho wasn't quite as busy as the pizza and ice cream shops, but there were still quite a few folks, and the staff did manage to tend to everyone nicely. If you haven't been, Hi Ho is a simple, fast food burger joint in terms of decor, but the menu (from the same people who own Matu) is a small, curated selection of very high quality options: mostly Wagyu burgers in a few different configurations, and chicken tenders + some very good, hand cut fries. This time I opted for the Pastrami Heat, a double cheeseburger fortified with spicy grilled onions and a not-too-large topper of Wagyu pastrami. I don't usually go for such an elaborate burger, but I just had a hankering. And while I won't say the burger was small, it was not as ridiculously enormous as you might get other places. The double patties were juicy and flavorful, nicely seasoned and coated in properly melted American cheese. The spicy grilled onions did pack a nice punch, but there weren't a lot of them, so their effect was minimal (definitely could use more of those). House-made pickles were pleasingly artisan, with a layered, briny flavor far more enjoyable than the commercial dill chips usually deployed. Finally, the Wagyu pastrami was really quite good. Marbled and juicy without be too fatty or too rich, thinly shaved and portioned just large enough to make its presence known without becoming unwelcome halfway through. Though decadent for sure, this was an enjoyable treat that was only about 50% guilt-inducing. Fries were fresh, hot, crispy and well done, cooked in beef tallow. Also a treat. Prices are in line with what you're paying at other fast casual burger places like Five Guys or Burger Lounge, but the quality here is definitely a step above, so you could almost say it's a deal. Of course, if you also stop into neighboring Erewhon for a smoothie, your budget will be blown.

Such is the case with Heavy Handed, which debuted as a backyard pop-up just before the shutdown. Heavy Handed distinguishes itself on the basis of its short rib burger base and meme-filled marketing. Heavy Handed transitioned to a food truck in 2021 and now operates two brick-and-mortar locations across LA (this Silver Lake location just closed its doors). The Silver Lake outpost took over the space of beloved diner All Day Baby on a bustling strip of Sunset. The exterior combined HH's signature sunset-orange color palette with psychedelic, LA- and burger-themed murals designed by local artist DJ Neff. The spacious dining room was warmly lit by a red neon strip running the length of the ceiling. Seating options ranged from upholstered half-booths to standard wooden tables and chairs to the bar counter around the corner. Classic rock echoed around the room. My partner and I visited for weekend lunch. We ordered immediately, and our food was available within minutes. We opted to split a Double Short Rib Burger. Immediately, I was impressed by the crispy, slightly charred edges around the circumference. Meanwhile, the center bites were addictively rich and juicy. The thick-cut pickles added a vinegary snap, while the diced onions were caramelized to a jam-like consistency. The service was friendly and efficient. At first, we raised our eyebrows at the $13 pricetag, but we were satisfied with the generous portion and delicious taste. In a busy, burger-heavy neighborhood (including wildly popular peer smash burgers at The Win-Down and Goldburger), this was our favorite one.
