Unique flavors, high-quality ingredients and so indulgent! My favorite flavor is the malted cookie dough. They also have mocha and fudgy flavors. Others have lavender, poppyseed and other fun flavors. The service was very nice, they offered my samples. The ladies behind the counter were very polite and informative. The ambience is pretty modern and a little bit hipsterish! I do have to say that price wise it is a bit pricey, you're paying almost 8 dollars for a scoop of ice cream about the same price as a pint you would buy at the grocery store. Portions are decent, a scoop is about the size of your fist. This is a fun place to get a tasty treat occasionally! Be adventurous and try all the flavors!

Excellent ice cream!! Loved our ice cream! Their seasonal flavors are delicious. I went with a waffle cone and it was so good. Line went by quick. I wish they had more tables outside to sit bc it's a cute spot on Ventura!

The staff here never fail to leave me feeling extra excited about my ice cream!!! We always come across a wonderful staff member who's never afraid to offer more than the basic necessities in customer service. They are upbeat and great at keeping engaged with customers. I'm so glad this branch is here and it's always something I look forward to when I need a sweet treat for myself and my girlfriend. We love to come here and are always excited to try the many new flavors that appear inside of these doors. Five stars once again!!!

Very unique flavors. I got the captains berried treasure which had a cream cheese-y taste but I thought there would be Cap'n Crunch in it because of the picture (there was not). The Concord grape and nut one was pretty good too, kinda tasted like a pb&j. There can be a long line sometimes even late at night and different employees give you different portion sizes (some can be stingy)!

My favorite ice cream chain. Wonderful staff who patiently let you sample a couple of flavor and give you good commentary to help you choose. They have now added toppings to their menu and everything tastes better with chocolate sauce. My fave and go to are the Strawberry and the Brownie Chocolate ice cream...with chocolate sauce.

This Salt & Straw location is so small on the exterior you might actually miss it while driving by on Ventura Blvd. There is no indoor seating and just a single bench outside and only sometimes. If you come here for a sweet treat, expect to eat it standing or walking around on Ventura. There is metered street parking right by Salt & Straw as well as free street parking the next side street over, though you will have to search around for a bit and walk a little for this option. Salt & Straw is famous for their more eccentric ice cream flavors and there really hasn't been any that I've ever hated. My mom and I recently came by to try out their Berries series, she like the Habanero berry mix and I got the birthday cake / blackberry combo. Mine was the less unique of the two and I think as a result, less exciting / interesting to eat. If you swing by, you must try out the weirder flavors, they really end up being surprise hits!

12/10 Salt & Straw is hands down my favorite ice cream shop in LA No matter how many flavors I try, I always find myself coming back to the Snickerdoodle--pure comfort in a cone. Their Coffee & Love Nuts is my #1 andall the different coffee variations are incredible, and every seasonal or limited batch flavor they roll out is worth a try. Even the combinations you wouldn't normally think to order end up being unforgettable. What makes this place even better is the service The staff are so generous with their samples and actually encourage you to take your time until you land on the one that feels perfect. Every scoop is rich, creamy, and bursting with taste It feels indulgent in the best possible way. Salt & Straw isn't just ice cream, it's an experience From the creativity of their flavors to the kindness of their team, it's a spot I'll always recommend and keep in my regular dessert rotation.

It's really big portions, I like it! Sometimes there is crowded, but you need to spent that time for waiting this amazing ice cream

I eat alot of ice cream. Traveling to CA for work, I needed something sweet! Found this place on Yelp. It..did..not..disappoint!! I got in right before the big rush, but thankfully I did. When I was walking out, there was a line of 30 people. Inside is small, but moves quick. I ordered the double, 2 scoops. The cinnamon snickersdoodle is top 2 flavors I've ever had. Absolutely amazing. The caramel peanut brittle was also great, but that Snickerdoodle! You need to get a scoop or 5!

Just drove across this ice cream shop, on the way to a different one and saw a few people in line. So said why not! Vanilla so good! Must try ice cream if you are near by.

We came to Salt & Straw right after our engagement and it made an already special day even sweeter! The cashier congratulated us--he was incredibly kind and thoughtful--and even gave us our ice cream on the house It was such a touching gesture that we'll never forget. All the staff were super helpful while we sampled the different flavors (which are always so unique and fun to try!) Thank you for making the experience even more memorable :)

Perfect hot Studio City day, you know you need to stop by Salt & Straw. We happened to stop in during lunch time and there was no line (I've never seen this location without one) and were waited on by the fabulous Julius. We wanted to try the Limited Flavors - they all seemed so good - Birthday Cakes & Blackberries, Oishii Strawberry Pretzel Salad, Goat Cheese Marionberry Habanero, Banana Bread with Strawberry Jam and Huckleberry Cornbread. Julius was so kind to let us try samples of each one - and boy that alone was just a fun time. I ended up going with the Oishii Strawberry Pretzel, the strawberry was a little lighter than the Banana Bread with Strawberry Jam and I loved the addition of the pretzel (which really didn't even taste like a pretzel) but the crunch and sweet combo was a winner! I love that Salt and Straw have limited edition flavors that are always changing - a perfect reason to return time after time, along with amazing service! A great win! The studio city location your options are street parking and some available parking behind these blocks of stores.

I can't express in words how amazing the ice cream is here. A must stop if you're in the area. Also highly recommend adding the waffle cone!

Ask the Community - Salt & Straw

Do they make date shakes?

I don't know, I usually get a chocolate one with them -- and he's the most delicious of all the chocolate ones.

Do they have any non dairy sorbets?

They have new flavors every month, and one or two of them will usually be a dairy-free option. Of their "classic" flavors (which don't change every month) there is always a royalty-free option.

DAMO 100% uses ceremonial grade quality and probably 5-6g of matcha per serving!! Parking here may be difficult to find on the street, but they do have valet, too. On a Saturday afternoon, this spot is packed and quite hard to find a place to sit. Wi-Fi is available, though note that plugs and seating may be another issue. Not every spot comes with a plug, and it's going to be full, so you may need to wait 15-20 minutes. It is indeed a small spot, so if you're looking for a quiet spot to work, this might not be it. The interior decor, though, is quite clean aesthetically and is relaxing to work in. The Matcha Latte, though, let me say if you're in need of an afternoon pick-me-up, this will keep you energized, even without the sugar! A few sips in and a half cup later, I had so much energy I could probably run a marathon if I had the right shoes (and I don't even like running).

I think there is parking behind the shops through the alley. I didn't know any specifics since I didn't park there. As we walked in the front doors, I got in line while hubby saved us a table. If you go out the back door, there is another room with more seating. I waited for my turn at the kiosk... you place the order yourself. Be sure to enter your phone number to earn loyalty points. I felt bad for the one lady making all the orders by herself. She was working as quickly as she could! I watched her for a little bit. She changed gloves often, keeping the ingredients separated. It wasn't long before I was taking my order to the table. I ordered two individual size bingsoos. One would have been ample for us to share. Each of them cost $8.50 and I got a side of Mochi for $2.25. This was some of the freshest Mochi topping I've had! Each piece was so super soft, even softer than marshmallows! They came in a condiment container so we could add them as we desired. Hubby's bingsoo was the Mango Melon and mine was the Mango. The shaved ice used was Mango for both. His had melon (Honeydew) balls and mine had mango chunks. This wasn't the best bingsoo I've had, but it was refreshing and made for a nice dessert! I thought I had been here before, but apparently not! I'm glad we finally got to come check it out!

I've had their gelatos before, and they have very unique flavors (unfortunately the candle smoked and salty egg yolk is not my favorite because it only tastes smoky to me, but some people really love it so I think you should try it if you have the chance). We went on a hot Saturday mid-day, and lots of other people had the same idea, so we had to wait a little bit for a table. They give you a beeper so you can come back once a table is ready. This time, we ordered the mango sticky rice shaved ice, and it was so good my husband and I were mind-blown. It's fun to eat because you get multiple components on one tray, and you can continually go between eating the mango sticky rice and the shaved ice with mango gelato, mango chunks, and coconut cream. Every part of it was so yummy and refreshing, it didn't feel too difficult to share and finish between two people. They hide mango chunks inside the middle of the shaved ice too, so it's not solely a bowl of ice when you get to the bottom. I will go back again just for the mango sticky rice shaved ice because it is so unique and delicious, but when mango season is over, they stop selling it.
