    Bacon cheeseburger

It was very good. Been going there for years, always get a bacon cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, and ketchup. The service is great, and the employees are very kind.

Came here at 954pm, customers were still inside, but they locked the front door. How rude. I find it unprofessional that a company would allow their employees to do this .

Hubby and I had been shopping and shopping makes you hungry! We didn't want to take too much time to eat, we had lots to do. I spotted a Five Guys! I'll admit it, I love Five Guys. I've never had a bad meal at any of them. First time here and it was consistent like the others. Great hamburger and best fries in the world! They now have milkshakes, but we didn't get one. Hubby really likes their hot dogs too and the peanuts. I just stick to my plain hamburger and fries. I'm a purist when it comes to hamburgers and fries. My motto; keep it simple! The place was clean and food came quick! Our order was perfect. No complaints. Once our bellies were full, we were ready to continue shopping! Thanks Five Guys!

Pretty good burgers they have here. Always made fresh to order. I feel like they should lower their prices tho compared to other burger joints. Still a good time, don't forget the complimentary peanuts.

It is a Trojan horse for one of the best burgers in St. Louis (my wife says I'm being dramatic for calling it THE best; I say I am not NOT going back for another). We enjoyed everything we order: the pork belly burnt ends and cashew chicken wings, and a coffee & cardamom old fashioned that sounds like a personality disorder but tastes like a vibe, smoky, a touch sweet, and very drinkable year-round. The Sam Elliott burger, BBQ sauce, bacon, crunchy onions, brioche, is named for a man who has never disappointed anyone, and neither does the sandwich. And the meatloaf is NOT your grandma's brick: tender, charred at the edges, laid over silky mashed potatoes with broccolini, perhaps closer to a chop steak than a loaf in the best possible way. Vibe is farm-chic: old church pews, repurposed interior doors, a proper bar up front, plus a patio and rooftop for when the weather cooperates. Fun fact -- it's named after the blue duck Billy Madison paints in elementary school, which is a fantastic piece of trivia and tells you absolutely nothing accurate about the actual restaurant. 4.7 Stars. Picking Nits: the counter-order setup is efficient, but it sets expectations in the wrong direction for the first 90 seconds, you brace for fast-casual and instead get something considerably more ambitious. Food comes out fast once you've ordered, which is great if you're hungry and slightly jarring if you wanted a slow, lingering dinner. And the Billy Madison naming is charming trivia but entirely misleading as a vibe preview, no complaints about the actual restaurant, just the branding expectations it sets. If The Blue Duck were a character: Ron Swanson. Hear me out. If Ron ate here, he'd be suspicious of the entire experience until his first bite of protein -- the counter ordering, the repurposed doors, a burger named after a fellow mustachioed American, all of it registering as potentially too clever. Then the Sam Elliott hits his plate, he takes one bite, and the skepticism dissolves into the quiet respect of a man who has found his people. Looks rustic. Has strong feelings about meat. Secretly sophisticated -- plays saxophone in a jazz club under a fake name, builds his own furniture, would 100% approve of the farm-chic decor once the protein has spoken. Presents as simple. Isn't.

The half-pound patty came out medium-rare with real char marks and seasoning that went all the way through -- not just a salt crust on the outside that fools you on the first bite. The toasted bun held everything together start to finish, which sounds like a low bar until you've had a $20 burger collapse into your lap. The bacon had a genuine snap to it, the cheese melted into every layer, and the produce was clearly cut that morning. You can tell the difference. The fries are a full portion and they stay crispy long enough to actually eat them. Service moved fast for a kitchen cooking everything to order. The room has that no-nonsense burger joint feel -- you're there for the food, and the bar-and-grill setup makes it easy to linger if you want to. Clayton location is convenient, parking is straightforward, and the price-to-portion ratio is better than most places charging the same or more for half the effort. If you're in the St. Louis area and want a burger that doesn't cut corners, this is the one. I'm heading back next week specifically for the mushroom Swiss.

The venue is spacious, cute and modern with projectors of art and nature. My waitress Nicole was very nice but seemed new to waitressing. A nearby waitress seemed stressed by her patrons and colleagues and it was audibly clear so it was kind of distracting. But it was Valentine's Day so I imagine it was a lot for most restaurants. My sugar free caramel latte was lukewarm and not really strong in coffee taste. Their Valentines Day menu was the only option for Valentine's Day. You could get items ala carte but nothing from main menu. The three courses were $89 plus an automatic 20% gratuity While the winter salad was scarce, it was unique and delicious. I devoured my General Tso salmon along with the scallion mousseline accompaniment. And the dessert? HEAVENLY. I am not sure if it was truly yogurt as it tasted like true cheesecake. I was very impressed with my 3 courses and can't wait to come back and try their regular menu.

Service: Unfortunately, the standout feature of my multiple visits has been consistently rude bartenders. It's not a one-off incident; it's every single time. This creates an unwelcoming environment that overshadows everything else. Food & Drink: The food is mid--perfectly edible but forgettable. You're not coming here for a culinary experience. Atmosphere: During the holiday season, the beautiful space felt barren with not a single Christmas decoration. It was a stark missed chance to create some warmth and cheer. Verdict: The combination of persistently unfriendly service and average offerings makes it impossible to recommend. Such a great space deserves better execution.

We tried a mix of things--tater tots, wings (both sauced and dry), pizza, and chicken tenders. Everything was decent, but nothing really stood out. The wings had good flavor but weren't anything special, and the pizza was pretty standard bar-style. Portions were solid, though, and it's definitely the kind of place where you can find something everyone will eat. Overall, it's a good spot if you're looking for a casual, no-pressure place to hang out, watch a game, and grab some familiar bar food--but I wouldn't go out of my way for the food itself.
