This is our go to late night spot. I usually get the wings but I decided to go with the chicken Philly. It's usually not busy the times we go and we order ahead to make it easier. The service when we do go in is nice. The wings were crunchy. The fries were soggy tho but the chicken Philly was good!

Philly cheesesteak and fries...after I already took a few bites...so delicious!!!!

So I was craving a good philly cheesesteak, so I went to Yelp to type in Philly cheesesteak near me, and this place showed up with great ratings! Well, let me tell you, they did NOT disappoint!!! This may very well be the best philly I've ever had! And it comes with delicious fries! I'm so glad I now have a go-to when I get that familiar craving, and I'll definitely be checking out some of their other delicious, affordable food!!!

I got fried chicken and the kids liked it. I have no complaints. It serves its purpose.

The half-pound patty came out medium-rare with real char marks and seasoning that went all the way through -- not just a salt crust on the outside that fools you on the first bite. The toasted bun held everything together start to finish, which sounds like a low bar until you've had a $20 burger collapse into your lap. The bacon had a genuine snap to it, the cheese melted into every layer, and the produce was clearly cut that morning. You can tell the difference. The fries are a full portion and they stay crispy long enough to actually eat them. Service moved fast for a kitchen cooking everything to order. The room has that no-nonsense burger joint feel -- you're there for the food, and the bar-and-grill setup makes it easy to linger if you want to. Clayton location is convenient, parking is straightforward, and the price-to-portion ratio is better than most places charging the same or more for half the effort. If you're in the St. Louis area and want a burger that doesn't cut corners, this is the one. I'm heading back next week specifically for the mushroom Swiss.

I recently stopped by after an appointment in STL. It was right at lunch time and it was also, opening day for the Cardinals. So when I entered, the line to order was already long. To my surprise, the one lady taking orders, moved that line quickly. So I give her major kudos. When it was turn to order, I was ready. I went with a Double and swapped out the American Cheese for Pepper Jack. For my side, I tried their Salt&Pepper Onion Rings. After ordering, I took my number stick and took a seat at the bar. Once seated, the bartender welcomed me and I ordered a draft beer. I barely had completed my Wordle and my burger basket was being slid in front of me. Before taking my first bite, I admired the crisp edges and actually ran my finger around them. My first bite was heaven. It proved to me that all a good smash burger needs is; ketchup, mustard, onion and pickles. The Onion Rings were made in house and the simple seasoning of Salt & Pepper made them a winner. While dining at the bar, I learned a new trick. If you're going to be sitting at the bar to enjoy your smash burger, you can order it from the bartender. That's right, no standing in line to order, you can go straight to the bar. Great staff. They all hustle and provide friendly and professional service.

It must be attracting the wrong kind of…read morecustomers, the kind of people more than happy to regale you for hours on end with their opinion about the seasoning on the tendies at Cane's. I don't need to know these people personally to be able to name the 10 CDs they owned back in the 1990s. (If they weren't around back in the '90s, obviously I wouldn't want their opinion about anything.) Shake Shack isn't as good as Hi Pointe, but it's good enough that I wouldn't drive past a Shake Shack to get to a Hi Pointe if, for some reason, I just had to drop a Section 8 rent payment on my lunch. I was only there yesterday because I was meeting people, and I figured I'd go all out since I might never return. I didn't get the most elaborate sandwich, but more so because the specialty selections sounded, erm, ridiculous to me, to use currently acceptable terminology. But you best believe I got both a shake and the weirdly pale-looking cheese goo on my fries. I notice they nickel and dime you on various add-ons and options, e.g. whipped cream on your shake and what have you, which seems kinda pathetic, but it still ends up being less than you'd spend at a Five Guys. But that's true of literally anywhere you can shop in 2026, including Hermès. I appreciate the fact that you can order via kiosk, like at a Panera. It saves you from having to explain how you'd like your sandwich to the staff, which may or may not consist of Ladue residents. (They honestly seemed lovely.) Ordering my Double ShackBurger, I noticed that it comes standard with lettuce and tomato but no pickle or onion, which are available free of charge, so I went ahead and took care of that. The weird cheese gloop on the fries is only $0.50 extra, but I don't know how necessary it is. As its complexion (so to speak) suggests, it lacks the tang of stadium nacho cheese. It's not bad, but I would have been fine with just ketchup. Crinkle-cut fries are no one's preference (literally no one), but these might be the GOAT crinkle-cut fries. They're crisp to the point where they held up even under the gloop, but they weren't all dried out. They wanted another $0.50 for the whipped cream on my Cookies and Cream Shake. Are they saving up to go play Pac-Man? The shake was nearly impossible to suck through a straw when I got it (ahem), and that's even before you account for the bits of off-brand Oreo cookie. I wish they'd give you one of those bigger straws, not just a regular soda straw. If they're doing that for the environment, I might have to get the president involved. For some reason, they made my burger twice. They brought out a tray with everything on it, including my burger, and then later they brought out another burger. As a result, I ended up eating two double cheeseburgers, cheese fries and a shake. It wasn't my finest hour. I shudder to think how many calories I consumed. The guys I was there with (no Diddy), who were all runners, were shocked and appalled. They're not ginormous burgers, but I notice the buns are a little bit smaller, so the meat and various toppings hang out over the edge. It's an odd bun, weirdly soft and chewy, with a flavor that calls to mind the more premium/non-WIC hot dog buns they carry at the nearby Schnucks. The meat didn't seem to be as high quality as the meat at the aforementioned Hi Pointe, but the toppings were, uh, top notch. Overall, I'd describe the burger as an elevated Dave's Double from Wendy's, which, if you know ball, is the highest compliment you can pay anything, let alone a burger. I'd be curious to know where people are eating, if they don't like Shake Shack, but maybe I don't want to know? It'll be a while until my system is rid of all that ground beef, and longer still until I've recovered financially.

They remind me of the diners of the 1960s. Crinkle fries were (maybe) double-dips but at room temperature, and we went back to the counter to get fresh fries. But, I was definitely underwhelmed. Maybe try again in the summer.

Looking at their menu I was sold immediately and knew that this place was going to be good. They carried such a variety of sandwiches and burgers, and even salads too. None of them sounded basic or boring to me. Way better than Subway or Jimmy John. I ordered through the app and my order was ready within 20 minutes. They have a big outdoor area with benches so that you can enjoy your meal when it's the weather is nice. However, there are decent numbers of seatings inside as well. I ordered the Black and Blue, the Animal and the Mango Tango salad. I liked that you can customize your order to whatever it is that you prefer like substitutes or sauce on the side. The price is reasonable in my opinion. I liked the Animal a lot. The sour dough was crunchy and toasted. The grilled chicken was a little dry but I didn't mind it. I liked the cream cheese a lot. The flavor was amazing. The Black and blue wasn't what I expected but the blue cheese sauce was a nice touch. Mango tango salad was a vegetarian option but you can add protein if you want. The candied pecans were my favorite part. I also liked that they used fresh mangos. The dressing was tangy and sweet. I highly recommend you checking out this place. I'm going back again for sure.

It is a Trojan horse for one of the best burgers in St. Louis (my wife says I'm being dramatic for calling it THE best; I say I am not NOT going back for another). We enjoyed everything we order: the pork belly burnt ends and cashew chicken wings, and a coffee & cardamom old fashioned that sounds like a personality disorder but tastes like a vibe, smoky, a touch sweet, and very drinkable year-round. The Sam Elliott burger, BBQ sauce, bacon, crunchy onions, brioche, is named for a man who has never disappointed anyone, and neither does the sandwich. And the meatloaf is NOT your grandma's brick: tender, charred at the edges, laid over silky mashed potatoes with broccolini, perhaps closer to a chop steak than a loaf in the best possible way. Vibe is farm-chic: old church pews, repurposed interior doors, a proper bar up front, plus a patio and rooftop for when the weather cooperates. Fun fact -- it's named after the blue duck Billy Madison paints in elementary school, which is a fantastic piece of trivia and tells you absolutely nothing accurate about the actual restaurant. 4.7 Stars. Picking Nits: the counter-order setup is efficient, but it sets expectations in the wrong direction for the first 90 seconds, you brace for fast-casual and instead get something considerably more ambitious. Food comes out fast once you've ordered, which is great if you're hungry and slightly jarring if you wanted a slow, lingering dinner. And the Billy Madison naming is charming trivia but entirely misleading as a vibe preview, no complaints about the actual restaurant, just the branding expectations it sets. If The Blue Duck were a character: Ron Swanson. Hear me out. If Ron ate here, he'd be suspicious of the entire experience until his first bite of protein -- the counter ordering, the repurposed doors, a burger named after a fellow mustachioed American, all of it registering as potentially too clever. Then the Sam Elliott hits his plate, he takes one bite, and the skepticism dissolves into the quiet respect of a man who has found his people. Looks rustic. Has strong feelings about meat. Secretly sophisticated -- plays saxophone in a jazz club under a fake name, builds his own furniture, would 100% approve of the farm-chic decor once the protein has spoken. Presents as simple. Isn't.
