It came out hot and fresh and the burger was melt in your mouth buttery and juicy with crispy edges. I ordered the Super Nova with pickled jalapeños, secret sauce, and pepper jack cheese. Just the right level of spice, I would definitely order it again. We also ordered the Nebula loaded fries which were also hot and delicious. I loved the white cheese sauce they put on the waffle fries. Service was quick and they directed us to where we could find condiments and napkins etc. since there's open seating. We really enjoyed our meal and I would definitely go back and try their various other burgers and loaded fries.

The patio also has a large Connect 4 that people can play while waiting for their food and drinks. It's such a family friendly space (dogs too!) and we feel Incredibly welcome every time we visit. The burgers are super thin with really crispy edges, so if you like that style of smashburger, you'll probably love them. I liked the Split Open and Melt more than the Lumberjack, and the onion rings were probably my favorite side. We also had the watermelon lemonade, which was sour, punchy, and really refreshing. It was very kid friendly too. They had books for kids to read at the table, which was a nice touch, and the whole place had a relaxed, casual feel. It is a little pricey for burgers and fries, but overall we had a good experience.

After looking at a handful of menus on the street, we de died on Good Company. Service was great. Very attentive. They immediately asked if we had any dietary issues and then promptly after hearing out needs, made a handful of recommendations. We started with the cauliflower. It was excellent the light sauce and pine nuts really made this dish top notch. The vegetarian and GF adults then split the Caesar salad and the squash seasonal salad. Both were so flavorful, filling and entirely unique. If you're a salad eater, I'd highly recommend either one of these. The carnivore in our group ordered the Italian beef with French fries. Unfortunately they were out of the Italian beef so he had to settle on the wings. The wings were a solid lunch after an appetizer, but the sauce was not what was expected. Overall, the menu is simple, maybe 15 items in total and they probably need to have more for carnivores who are looking for something other than a hamburger and not too heavy for lunch. But for the other 2 in our group, we walked out super satisfied.

There were a few people in the dining area and a person at the bar. Our host welcomed us and asked if we had a reservation, we did not. He led us to a table and indicated our server would be with us shortly. We reviewed the menu and reading about them and their philosophy, the menu, the drink options and so forth. One of the staff behind the bar came and took our order. I stuck with water and we ordered chicken wings to share, I also got the Cucumber Tomato Salad for my meal, it sounded so fresh! Chicken wings came out fairly quick; delivered by the host who seated us. They were really good. The skin was crisp and the buffalo sauce a good flavor. We both enjoyed them. They came with a Green Goddess dressing, I am not a fan of that dressing, but the wings were good on their own. My salad came out and it was as refreshing as it sounded! It was the half salad, and it was a generous portion. Cornichon, Oven-Roasted Tomato, Crispy Shallot, Chopped Egg, and Dill Buttermilk dressing. It was perfectly dressed, and great proportions on the ingredients. My daughter ordered the Patty Melt advertised on Union Loafers bread and that clinched it for her. She indicated it was very good. The food was delivered by someone other than our server. After our food was delivered no one came back to check on us and we waited quite a while before we could get someone's attention to bring boxes and our check. While we were waiting the employees were setting up for dinner service, adding mini aperitif style glasses and then a couple came in for an early dinner and their server was so awesome, he came over and chatted with them offering samples of some kind of alcohol, he was so friendly! If we had been a little later and had him for a server, it would have changed our whole experience! We both commented that on our way out after we had eventually got settled up

They have blocks and a few other things for kids to play with as well. There is a lot of seating inside, too. My husband went in and got a menu and we chose our meals. Food is ordered at one counter and beer at another. He went in and ordered our food and got a beer. I drink, but I don't drink beer! Our food was brought out to our table and it was good! My husband and I each had a burger and our granddaughter had grilled cheese. They all came with fries. We ate, my husband had another beer, we played on the patio for a while, and then we left! The vibe was good, the food was good, the beer was good - of course we'll be back!

Rockwell Beer Company earns the association honestly. I walk in wary (I don't drink beer, don't like it, and an industrial brewery hugging a busy four-lane street is not my native habitat), I get the sense I need to eat in the corner so people don't discover the non-beer drinker; however, I walked out humming. The reason is the food, sourced through Street Food by Brasas. This is not brewery food that apologizes for itself. Pretzels, wings, both worth ordering again. The pizzas (barbecue, pepperoni) land in that rare category of elevated bar snack. I'd happily return for a table's worth. It's order at the window food service, which is fine for their vibe, but it keeps the environment to a self-service lower warmth environment. We sat outside, which is nice IF you can find some shade on a hot summer evening. 3.9 out of 5 stars The atmosphere isn't built for me, but the kitchen is good enough that I'd get over it to spend an evening with my beer-drinking friends. The atmosphere is always fun, but if I'm being honest, I'm coming for the burger and fries every single time. My only wish is that they would extend their hours to better match some of the surrounding bars in Soulard. I feel like they'd get even more business from people looking for a late night burger and fries. Overall, Jack Nolen's is a must for me when I'm craving a really good burger!

Ultimately I had to try a burger and fries and they both met the high expectations I had going into this place (they're described as having the best smash burgers in STL). The beer was good - cold, crisp - you can tell the draft lines are clean. However the most impressive thing about this establishment was the staff (Jen & Kristen, maybe?). Efficient. Courteous. Very friendly. Treated the guests like an actual guest. Very well done. If I had to offer a criticism about this place, it seems if you don't sit at the bar, you have to place your food and drink orders at the bar (rather than having a server). I do believe they run your food though.

I also got a side of the sweet potato tots and the "Oreo Speedwagon" milkshake. My burger was cooked perfectly and loaded up with toppings, and their special sauce is light and mustardy. The mushroom burger is unlike any other I've ever had. It's ground up mushroom in the shape of a patty with cheese on the inside that is then breaded and deep-fried. It was good and something new, but I preferred the regular veggie burger. The veggie burger comes with crispy onions, which I loved. The service was also great. We are a family that loves pickles and sometimes when we ask for extra pickles, it doesn't seem like we ever get enough. It was not the case here! They were very generous with the extra pickles which we were really happy about. The cheese fries were standard. The Oreo milkshake seemed pretty standard as well, but milkshakes aren't my favorite thing. Personally, I didn't care for how everything is served without a plate and with the burgers in the paper bags. I think the paper bags the burgers come in are a great idea to stop your hands from getting messy, but I had to take the burger out to realign everything so that all the bread wouldn't be at the very bottom and it just became a mess. Note: 1 burger was enough for me. I thought I was still hungry after and got another and that was a mistake!
