We went here as a family after my graduation. There was something for everyone in the family to enjoy. I split the veggie burger and the mushroom burger with someone. The mushroom burger is unlike any other I've ever had. It's ground up mushroom in the shape of a patty with cheese on the inside that is then breaded and deep-fried. It was good and something new, but I preferred the regular veggie burger. The veggie burger comes with crispy onions, which I loved. The service was also great. We are a family that loves pickles and sometimes when we ask for extra pickles, it doesn't seem like we ever get enough. It was not the case here! They were very generous with the extra pickles which we were really happy about. The cheese fries were standard. The Oreo milkshake seemed pretty standard as well, but milkshakes aren't my favorite thing. Personally, I didn't care for how everything is served without a plate and with the burgers in the paper bags. I think the paper bags the burgers come in are a great idea to stop your hands from getting messy, but I had to take the burger out to realign everything so that all the bread wouldn't be at the very bottom and it just became a mess. I used to love Shake Shack, but frankly, this was my last visit. I ordered the regular Shake Shack burger, and it was ok, but it was $9.79 for just the burger. AND it was so tiny. I mean, really, really small. It just wasn't worth the price. I also ordered a regular Shake Shack chocolate milkshake and it too was very small. But it also tasted "off". There was something about it that just didn't sit right. There was too much chocolate to the point you couldn't taste the ice cream flavor at all. I was going to have them remake it, but honestly, it just didn't seem worth my time. The people who work there are very friendly and kind. The place also seemed immaculately clean. This place is located on SE corner of Euclid and Pine Street. There is no parking lot, so you use street parking. I parked on Pine where you use an app to pay (see photo). You order at kiosks. They have TVs inside. We got the limited time jalapeño burger which was great and the Shack burger and shake were very good standards as expected. I still had to wait an additional 10 minutes. upon entering, I was quite overstimulated by the amount of people eating and also the amount waiting for their orders not to mention this is the coldest restaurant I've ever been in. my order was given to me in a bag with the sticker stating what was inside the bag. We stopped in for a quick bite to eat - you can order at the counter, kiosk, or on the app. Service was relatively fast, it seemed like they had a lot of to go orders! I do think they were more expensive than usual though; my Smoke Shack burger, regular fries and a small Coke were $18; maybe that's because it's at the airport. Shake Shack in the Central West End is my go to burger place. The Smoke Shack is probably my favorite burger from any chain restaurant. While the Smoke Shack is the only burger I get, I always get a different shake or fries while I am there and am rarely disappointed. If it was only a discussion about the food Shake Shack would be a five out of five for me. That being said there are some things about this location and Shake Shack in general that leave a little to be desired. For starters, the prices are high for a chain burger place. I have seen some other reviews that say that this is specific to the STL locations, but regardless I always feel like I am spending more that I should be. As for the service, I feel very indifferent. I think that they are typically quick, but there have been some times where we have had to wait nearly 20 minutes when there is no one else in the restaurant. Finally, the Central West end location from an aesthetic perspective is uninteresting and leaves no real reason to stay and eat. All that being said, the Smoke Shack is my comfort burger that I will come back time and time again for! I just find myself ordering takeout more often than not. read more

Parking sucks, if you're able to walk or carpool, I highly suggest those options, otherwise good luck with finding a parking spot and be prepared to pay for the meters. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The food is extremely overpriced and simply just OK........ I purchased an Oreo shake, small fry, single smokeshack, sauce on the side and 6pc chicken bite. The best part of my meal was the shake. The burger was lacking a little something, something. The fries were hot-n-fresh but still just average. The chicken I was taking home as a treat for my fur-baby but I ended up just giving them to my mother since I stopped by her house after work. My co-worker swore by the shroomburger, I should have tried that. I tasted Shake Shack when they 1st opened and my sister brought burgers to the house and it was really good. First timer at Shake Shack...picked up a carry out from the Central West End location for family members visiting Barnes. 4 different types of burgers, 4 crinkle fries and 3 different shakes. Everyone was very pleased with their choices. I got the double bacon cheeseburger, crinkle fries and a chocolate shake. Burger was BIG. A double is a really good size. Burger was fantastic! I was blown away by the potato bun...really supported the burger and didn't get in the way of the burger flavor. Fries were perfect and the shake was awesome. I'm just a plane old chocolate shake guy and this one really hit the spot. Only reason for 4 stars and not 5 was the order wasn't totally right. Bottled water was missed, extra sauces weren't included and condiments weren't in the bag. Didn't rain on the parade too much but this was a layup 5 star, ugh. I feel like there is always a line to order and then a little bit of a longer wait for the food. It's still great, don't get me wrong. But, sometimes it just seems that the price of the meal doesn't add up to the size of the meal. It's pricey that some burger places. The parts of the burger that I do like is how they can make the patty a little more crispy on the ends. The fries are nothing special, but I always still get them cause they are a classic. I didn't picture the shake. Sometimes they have rotating shakes based on the season, so those are always fun to try. This was my first Shake Shack experience and it was great considering the current circumstances (COVID). I'm not a huge fan of burgers but I don't have a SS from where I'm from and I've heard great things about their shroom burger. Ordering & pickup was easy and safe! I wasn't sure what I expected the shroom burger to look like, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was fried and full of gooey cheese. It's meatless but certainly not a as healthy as I was expecting, lmfao! But it sure was delicious! Every single bite was amazing! THAT table was dirty too, sauce everywhere as well. At this point we were basically playing musical chairs in the restaurant. 4th times a charm...? No, but we settled on this last table because it was the least dirtiest out of all. They were all unclean, and nobody was around for another almost 10 minutes. For being in the city with the enforcement of cleanliness, distancing, & masks during these germy times, it didn't look like sanitization was a concern for awhile. We ended up trying to look for a cloth/cleaning supplies so we didn't eat at a dirty table. Apart from that & telling my boyfriend, "sorry, normally this place is clean when I've came here," the food is always top tier. He loved his burger as I did mine. The shake was a sugar cookie kind. Then we waited in a filthy, dark, smelly public room for 20 minutes. Finally my husband got up to go ask why it was taking so long when we saw people who were behind us in line, get their food. When he got up to the kitchen he saw our food - 4 veggie burgers with fries and drinks (came to 80+ dollars) were sitting waiting. When he asked the worker why we hadn't been served she rolled her eyes and said she'd bring it out. We waited another 6 minutes for her to bring out our food. It was, of course, nasty and cold. Our two children had been so excited to try a Shake Shack for the first time. Well, it's now their last too. You know what, if you hate your job, or people THAT much, get another job - don't take it out on the customers who are paying your salary. The bathroom was also a hazard - the floors were slippery and we almost fell numerous times. Deplorable experience. And we love how when responding to negative reviews, Shake Shack asks you to email them and send them a copy of your receipt - who the heck keeps a receipt from something they hated? Honestly, if you think that solves the problem, it's no wonder you allow your restaurant to function the way it does. It was MY time, my FAMILY'S time and experience that was ruined because of nasty attitudes, cold food and a filthy environment. Getting my receipt isn't going to change that.
