Cheeseburger with two patties, large fries, and a vanilla shake.

I was very pleased with this this place. The fries blew me away! A spacious interior. Friendly crew. Made to order. Can't wait to head back there. I'm amazed how the logo is just simple bold all caps. Nothing fancy.

When you first walk in it is cheerful and bright! Everyone working here is happy and having a great time which we loved. The music playing is perfect and not too loud. This is our first time here. The lady taking our order was so kind and patient with us. We really appreciated her service with a smile! I ordered a single cheeseburger and my husband ordered a bacon cheeseburger and the meat patty on his burger was huge, I swear it was double what mine was! We shared a large fry and it was really huge! Looks like everything is fried in peanut oil! My husband likes the soda machine cause there are so many great options. There was a box on two separate tables that were full of peanuts (in the shell) with little paper bowls and a scoop inside. You help yourself. The burgers were hot and fresh. To be honest they are a bit over priced (Our bill was $36 for two burgers, one large fry, and one large drink!) When I say large I mean super huge! So huge that I don't think we will personally eat here that often but it was great to give this restaurant a try! If you love burgers and fries you have to give this restaurant a try! Make sure you bring your appetite with you because the portion sizes are huge! Five stars for five guys!

It's been quite a while since I reviewed Five Guys in Schaumburg. It looks like my last review was in 2014. Five Guys still looks the same. I think they may have added a few items to the menu, but we were there for burgers. And, they still have peanuts for you while you wait. We both ordered burgers, drinks, and shared large fries. The dining room was crowded so we opted to eat outside. They have a number of outdoor tables. For reasons of COVID, we took one away from others. Their hamburgers and typically large. So are their fries, which is why we opted to share some. The food was good - but there have been so many new very good burger places that opened in the area, I find some of them much better. Although the food was good, the presentation was bad. I included a picture showing my "Smooshed" Five Guys Burger. I know it doesn't affect the taste, but it shows a lack of care on the part of the cooks. My suggestion to Five Guys is to look around at some of the local restaurants, not chains, to see what they are doing.

I came out on my lunch break and pulled up to Five Guys. It has been a minute since I had a burger and fries from Five Guys. The prices are a bit pricey. Five Guys doesn't have a value deal. Each menu item is sold separately. Nice clean location with an outside patio. I ordered the wrap cheeseburger with fries. The food was freshly cooked well done with hot crispy fries. The service could have been a little better.

The friend of apparently all the employees just hung out and talked and ate at the counter with no mask, leaning over the glass. For the whole 20 minutes we were here. Like don't stand right by the food and where everybody else has to pick up their orders. If you don't want to wear a mask, don't be in my business. And I don't know why none of the masked employees said anything.

Good burgers, great fries and a huge portion. Peanuts are a nice touch. They do need to turn the music down and there a little pricy.

The ambiance was nice because it's current music (Post Malone etc) I really like the layout, not the traditional square kitchen area but off at an angle, which makes me relax because I get anxiety easily from strict structures or overcrowded merchandizing and tables. I also really like the choice and seating, and the vibes. Chicken 4 stars. I'd give it a 5 if it were 20 seconds more in the fryer. I like it really crispy. Fried 4 stars. Good crinkle cut. I'd like to see more options for sauce. Was looking for a tasty bbq sauce. Something. If you do have it, it wasn't offered. Texas toast. My son gives it a five and ate mine too. :) He says, "this place is better than chin-fil-A."

Now I can't speak to ambiance- all I've got to go on is the service when ordering and getting the food- now that that's clear let's start! We ordered the Caniac Combo and asked if they had lemonade as we didn't see it on the menu board- why,yes indeed, they did! They repeated the order and asked if that was all- a quick moment later I said - let's add a side of Texas Toast, fries, and a coleslaw. For some reason when we got to the window they thought we'd canceled the Caniac Combo and wanted the sides! No No no. Why go to a chicken place if we didn't want the chicken? So add back the Caniac Combo please! Then they asked if we still wanted the three sides still? Ummmm ....yes? We ordered the sides so we could split the tenders in the Caniac and both of us would get sides. Seemed kinda clear to me? Needless to say they almost forgot to give us the lemonade at the window- and had to be reminded. I think they weren't paying much attention. Sad. We got home, split up the food, and began eating. The chicken was just ok and needed to be reheated - the fries were cold (!) and had to be popped into the microwave too - really! Taters usually stay hot a long time. Not these. Hoo boy. Once reheated they were ok. The coleslaw doesn't hold a candle to KFCs but it was serviceable. So that explains why it had been years since our last visit. Hmm. Another five years from now we'll try again. But hopefully they focus on the food being hot and fresh and improve the customer experience- else they'll deserve to decline and die off.

First time at Portillo's in a while. Here are some thoughts:…read more -I did the drive thru, and I love this about Portillo's, they have people outside to take your order before you get to the window. Efficient. But I did sit in line for 10-15 minutes. -I ordered an Italian beef with sweet peppers, which is one of their signature items. It's a big sandwich! Lots of beef, and the peppers are amazing... -I also ordered fries, which are pretty good. They don't have any outstanding characteristics. They are crinkle cut style--solid. -To top it all off, I ordered a chocolate cake shake. It's essentially a chocolate shake with chocolate cake inside. You have to see it to believe it! Highly, highly recommended!

Non-native Review:…read more Busy sandwich & fast food Chicago institution. We were taken here by natives who say the joint is famous for their Chicago beef & hoagie sandwiches. The interior of this location is decorated pretty cool with old movies posters hanging from the rafters. Hungry 4 of us (3 non-locals) ordered a good sampling for our first visit & meal of the day: Salads, hot dogs, hoagie combos, drinks. Either the cashier or food preppers goofed our order a bit, but it wasn't a terrible inconvenience. One newby in our party aptly remarked that the meal combos aren't really combos per se, because you then have to specify the size of the individual combo items (such as the fries) after ordering the large (or small) combo for example. Salads also come out from a different sub-section of the restaurant. Little non-standard and confusing there for 1st-timers. The beef dip was good as advertised, pretty standard fare, but nothing about the meal or quality of such considered life changing. French fries were very unremarkable. Easy ordering kiosks or you can order at the counter like we did. With so many dog-gone dining options around these parts, not sure it would be a regular pit stop for myself if I were a local. Fair pricing board, good deal, average-y. Peace out.

My husband came here yesterday, and there were two younger guys working who were personable and extroverted. My husband was talking to them about the great punk rock music they were playing, and when my husband ordered my sandwich with jalapeños, the worker asked if we wanted a lot of them. The workers here always ask great questions about customizations, and they always fill the sandwiches and aren't stingy on using ingredients, which I'm so thankful for because the sandwiches here definitely aren't cheap (almost $10 for a regular sized sandwich and $19 for a giant size). I read some other reviews about workers not giving recommendations, but I feel it's hard to recommend a customizable sandwich when every menu item describes what the sandwich includes in it, and they don't know what you like... I've never been to a sub place that did this. We like Jersey Mike's in general because they cut the deli meat in front of you, and although they don't have as many ingredient options as some other sub places, everything tastes so fresh and delicious. My favorite go-tos are the #13 Original Italian or the #7 Spicy East Coast Italian (both Mike's way with no tomatoes and with jalapenos). YUM!!
