I've given this place a few chances, but I don't really get the appeal. -the patties themselves are somewhat overcooked for my taste and kind-of bland. -the toppings selection is basically everything you'd find at mcdonalds plus mushrooms, jalapenos and green peppers, I don't see why it is so prominent in their image -the fries is the only redeeming point of this place. Be warned an order of small fries can feed 3 reg. people. Also on a side note, I find it somewhat ironic that they put the origin of their potatoes prominently on the large sacks that double as a partition. I would much rather know where the beef came from rather than the potatoes. read more

An "ok" burger spot in my work hood. One big turnoff is the fact that they don't have any meal deals. So my burger, fries, and drink came to $11!! They were also blasting rock music through the speakers so it was difficult to carry on a convo with my lunch date. read more

With the amount of hype this place gets I expected so SO much more. What I got was a tasteless, greasy overpriced burger dripping with sauce. I guess you need that much ketchup and mayo/mustard to give it any flavor. I will definitely not be back and I would not recommend this. If you want a decent burger with more variety, try Smashburger instead. read more

This review is for the location in Schaumburg, but represents my review of any Five Guys locations that I have visited. Having cooked burgers for a fair amount of my life, I have my own opinion of what makes a burger good. One would think that Five Guys has what it takes, with the handmade burgers topped with fresh ingredients. But their burgers just do not live up to the hype that surrounds the name. Neither the single or double burgers seem to have any taste whatsoever other than the toppings. Not even the bun contributes anything to the burger. All of this results in an overpriced slab of blah. The peanuts are nice but merely a gimmick. Honorable mention goes to the fresh cut french fries which may be the best in the business. Too bad, though since I have little other reason to visit. read more

there was tons of hype about five guys awhile ago,so of course i have to try it and see what its all about for myself. Ive been here a few times already because sometimes i would attend to car meets that takes place in their parking lot (big parking lot). they are made fresh to order, so that's a plus! the burger was pretty greasy and lack in flavor, i was expecting more out of it from all the hype and the price I'm paying.. the burger is a little above average i would say... as big of a fan i am of french fries, their fries is just OK. even tho they give you a big portion of fries, it just doesn't make it up for the taste. i do enjoy their pop machine haha.. so much flavor to choose from! i would not go out of my way to five guys.. but if i attend to another car meet here then its only fair to eat here since i am in their parking lot.. read more

Love the burgers! Kinda pricey in my opinion but it is what it is. Better than McDonalds that's for sure. The fries were okay; Cajun ones were a little too heavy on the seasoning. read more

The food's good, but the customer service is terrible. I'm all about giving people the benefit of the doubt, but I had the most uncomfortable eating experience on the 9th and it wasn't related to rude employees--it was just odd behavior. I ordered my food around 8:20 pm and ended up getting my food around 8:45. I was wondering why it was taking so long, but I didn't really notice because I was reading something on my phone. Two people who came in about 5 minutes after me got their food about 10 minutes prior to that and I didn't think anything of it. I'm pretty sure they knew the girl who took my order. My receipt says the cashier was Damaris G. I then went up there a couple of minutes before I got my food and I just saw my burger sitting there on the counter with nothing on it except for the cheese. It didn't have the top bun on it, though. When the other girl (I'm not sure what her name is) gave me my food, she said "...sorry about that..." and gave me a weird look, then when I sat down I noticed her and another (male) employee there were sort of staring at me and I didn't think anything of it until I was eating my food and I would glance up every so often and noticed they were still staring at me. This made me so uncomfortable and I didn't know why they were doing it. I'm not delusional because it was dark outside and I was the only one in that particular spot, so they were definitely just...watching. It made me sort of paranoid because I was thinking they did something to my food. Before I left I used the bathroom and there was no paper towel roll in the holder for me to dry my hands, so I told the girl who took my order as I was passing her (she was sweeping) going back to my seat and she said "...okay..." and I saw her look at the two people I'm assuming she knew in the restaurant with one of those "wtf" faces like she was signaling to them. It was honestly just the strangest experience and there's just no way I'd go back to this location. I don't understand what the issue was or if I did something that was misinterpreted, but dang did I feel completely uncomfortable and I was just trying to enjoy my food and be polite with the paper towel roll. I don't know what their issue was, but that's definitely their issue and not mine since I'm a very polite, kind person. I'm honestly way more weirded out by the whole situation than irritated or pissed. read more

Nothing special about this place. I could make the same burger at home. 18.00 for 2 burgers, 1 fry, 1 drink. Way to expensive for the lack of taste. read more

Went here for Lunch FINALLY!!! I thought the food was very good, but WAY over priced. I got the little burger which was almost 4 bucks, an order of cajan fries that were 3 bucks, and a drink tht was 2 bucks.....that makes for an expensive lunch, with my boyfriends added to mine it was over 25 bucks for lunch....a little pricey. Now with the price rant out of the way lets talk about the food....I wish it wasnt so good so I could tell myself that I will not be going back there, but I know I cant do that!! The cajan fries were amazing, the fries still had the skin on them(my favorite) and they were super crispy. The little burger was a good size patty that was made fresh on the grill when you ordered, always nice to get fresh food. The best part of the while experience is the soda machine.....OMG you can make 100+ different flavors of sodas....it was so hard to chose so I had to make 2 different ones to try. First I made the coke zero with cherry syrup....VERY Good!! Then I made Mello Yello with grape syrup.....I would have never thought to try this on my own but it was really good. So yes I will be going back to five guys to try the different soda cominations and even pay for thier high priced food in the process....what can I say it was good!!! read more

Very nice and clean five guys as usual! Fast on ordering, fast on cooking and the stuff was friendly too!

This place has fresh off the grill burgers that are juicy! LOVE IT. If it's too pricey for every one that has complained about it go to mcdonalds. This place is really good. You have the option to put anything you want on your burger. Also, the fries are made fresh for your order. NOTHING to complain about. read more

I had placed a order through uber eats and my food arrived cold and I was given the incorrect order. I called the location up to receive a refund or my correct order and they said I could come in whenever. They wrote my name down and when I called to let them know I was coming in a week later they basically started arguing with me saying they had already given me a refund. Managers are incredibly rude and I lost $20 because they claim they gave my refund out already. I spoke to a lady named danielle or daniella and she was the rudest manager I have ever spoken to. I love five guys but definitely will not be going back to this location! read more

Mehh...this place is alright. I heard good things and a lot of hype from this place like "OMG THEIR FOOD IS AMAZINGGG!!!". I went in there half drunk from the morning before, I ordered a small burger, some fries and a drink...it came out to $9.02, okay...a little expensive but whatever I'm about to be hung over and I am hungry damnit. The burger was okay...the fries...were not cooked all the way thru..and the drink was a drink..lol I probably won't be going back here unless someone else really really really wants to go. I just dont see what the fuss is about. read more

It was so greasy, that I felt like I could've drank the burger through a straw. Big difference between juicy, and just pure grease. I'd rather go to Smash Burger, or even McDonald's. read more

Five Guys is a good option if you're looking for your classic greasy burger in a short amount of time and you want a step up from the normal fast food burgers. Personally, every time I go there I find the meat to be a little too greasy for me, but the fries are absolutely amazing. Dip the fries in ketchup, and get a cherry coke from their drink area, and you've got yourself a pretty good meal. You can add grilled onions to the burgers for no extra charge, but honestly, they aren't that great-- the whole no charge for toppings thing is cool though. I go here when i'm craving the fries, and it's probably one of the best places in the area for a decent burger. read more

Decent burgers and fries but I think Five Guys is overrated. Their burgers are pretty good for fast food but they're not amazing. The little burger (or whatever it's called lol) is plenty of food for me especially since their burgers are pretty greasy. The only difference between the little and regular burger is that the little has 1 patty versus the regular which has 2. I do like their fries since they're fresh and nicely crisp but tender on the inside. I know they have a secret menu like many other places but I have yet to try anything from it! read more

Always the best place for a consistently good burger, and a TON of fries.

Fries are hand cut, you can get the cajun. Burger was juicy. I should have read the menu closer and ordered the "little" since their burgers are all automatically doubles. Peanuts are there for you while you wait. read more

I came here expecting a good place to eat and hang out. I heard about this place and I wanted to check it out. I like the options available for the burgers and those new pop machines where u pick your options digitally. A little expensive though, I did spend 20 dollars and I was expecting 10 to 15 dollars for 1 cup of overflowing fries, two burgers, and two drinks. Burgers were above average. read more

It's just not for me. Burger was ok, but not worth a repeat the visit. Fries are a greasy mess. It is a unique coke/pop machine which dispenses about 100 different flavors and I just felt I could taste the previously dispensed beverage. read more

I don't know what all the fuss about this place is about! I heard all the glowing reviews about Five Guys so I went there during lunch to see for myself. The burger was ok, but nothing special. I wasn't impressed with the fries either. It was jammed packed with nowhere to sit. The location is not great either. I definitely like Portillos better! read more

I don't know what they do to their burgers, but they are SO GOOD. The cheese just melts perfectly into the bun and the pickles are delish. Their fries are also amazing, and I love to put malt vinegar on them. Sure it's a little expensive for a burger and fries but I prefer theirs to many other fast food places. read more

Pricy and very caloric. I always get my burger all the way with Jalepenos and a1 sauce. It is a messy burger but the fries are great. Gotta love the cajun fries. One fry and your entire mouth (for days) will taste like it. No amount of brushing your teeth or mouthwash will ever get that taste out of your mouth....it is there for days. :) read more

Delicious delicious burgers that need to be all the way. And some of the only fries I'll actively eat because they're tasty - I'm usually the type who picks at a few fries and once they've chilled I'm done - only hot fries are the best, yup. But I've finished theirs between my boyfriend and I so that says a lot for me! Honestly they're a bit on the greasy side but sometimes I like having artery clogging goodness. A smidge on the high side of prices, but I eat here infrequently so I don't mind. Too low and I may eat here too often and have too MUCH artery clogging goodness, oops! read more

I thought it was pretty good. My burger was made fresh to order. I didn't think it was greasy at all and was very well made. The fries I could live without, nothing special there. The soda fountain was awesome. You can select any flavor and add in any other flavor syrup you want. I could get vanilla Coke Zero for example. Yes it is more expensive than a McD's or BK but the burgers are way better. I love burgers and these guys do a good job. I'm not going to write home and tell mom about it, but it was pretty good overall. read more

Burger's are good, service was fine, clean place, but a little more overpriced than other's around. Fries extra, drink puts the meal over ten dollars, close to eleven for a lunch, less at surrounding fast food restaurants. read more

I don't see what the hype is with this place. I got their double cheeseburger small fries and a drink and spent $15. Fries were good, enough for 2 but again pricey. I probably won't be back. read more

You have to go for the burgers and fries. However, make a trip and get one of their hot dogs. Really good especially with cheese, onions, mustard, pickles, relish. Oh and of course, a side of fries to make it a balanced meal! read more

It's not necessarily the cheapest burger but it's worth the price. 2 patties that are perfect & topped with whatever you want (from a list). You get a bag full of fries (get seasoned!) and this schaumburg location has the Coke Freestyle machine (google it, it's awesome). And unlimited peanuts. Outside seating during nice weather. read more

Their little burgers are great because their normal burgers are too big for me to finish. And they give you a ton of fries, a small order is enough. Plus they have the really cool coca cola machine with a variety of drink options. Love 5 guys burgers! read more

Everyone always says (at least years ago when Five Guys first came out) how great this place is. I have tried this location a couple times, and a few other locations. I never really enjoyed my meals from here. It's sad that I can make better burgers at home than basically any restaurant has served me. If you want super greasy fries and a big but low quality burger, then sure, give them a try. Not for me. Only places that I have found I enjoy burgers at are expensive sit down restaurants (and I'm not talking about like TGI Fridays; I mean like expensive steakhouses likes Wildfire or Chicago Q - and you should probably get ribs or a steak from these places), or small town bars where they make their burgers by hand in house. The rest is just corporate sourced crap to me. read more

I liked the burger I should of got the regular one not the little one with only 1 patty. Meat was cooked fresh and burger was really tasty. I especially likes the Cajun fries they were excellent! When compared to in and out I think the fries were better here but the burger was definitely better at in and out!!!! read more

If you want a good cheeseburger fast with grilled onions or any number of ingredients, this is the place. The price is higher then most other fast food places but they do not compare. read more

We had great service, the store manger stopped by our table to make sure all was well and best of all they had Malt Vinegar for our fries. We will be back! read more

for some reason, someone told me that they close at 11.. so i ended up going around 9 50 only to find out that they were just cleaning up and no one was there.. but since they still had 10 minutes til close, they let us order with no pressure. I felt really bad because i was with 3 other people and we ended up staying almost a half an hour after it was closed but they were really nice about it. as for the food, their Cajun fries are sooo delicious.. i could tell that the potatoes were FRESH.. they just melted in my mouth.. my friends were having an orgasm in their mouth with their burgers.. i thought they were pretty good too but i honestly think the fries are better than the burgers. the menu is really simple and to the point. the prices is pretty good for the portion. i got the "little hamburger" but it filled me up.. read more

The parking lot is horrible. They need more parking since they share it with the Einstein Bagel people as well. Food was too greasy and I had to ask them to double bag my food since it seemed like the grease seeped through my bag and I didn't want to dirty my car seats. But fries were ok but they did give me a lot of it. I had the burger and it was not bad. read more

Excellent food, comparable to In-N-Out. Only downside is price, which is a tad cheaper for fast-food (if you can call it that).

Largely flavorless meat. Too high in calories. Fries were good. Don't see what the big deal about this place is, honestly.

Hands down the best burger and fry joint period. Cooked fresh and made to order and the fries are really good. Don't need to order the large fry because they give you plenty. A little on the pricey side but worth it! read more

I prefer an In-N-Out Burger any day over this but when you're in the Midwest and this is all you have it will work in a pinch.
