Nothing out of the ordinary about this Wendy's, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. This particular Wendy's is located on Algonquin Rd, not too far from Hong Kong Cafe. Inside, the Wendy's is what you kind of expect from a Wendy's. They have several booths, and fireplace with seating around it, tables and chairs, and a section where there are self-service ordering kiosks, if you're feeling a little anti-social. I went ahead and got a grilled chicken sandwich meal, which came with medium fries by default, and a fountain drink. They have two of those fancy all-the-rave-5-years-ago Coca-Cola touchscreens, where you can pretty much make 20 different combinations of drinks and flavor. I stuck with a Minute Maid Lite. With the meal, I also went ahead and ordered 4-piece nuggets. The people at the front, taking my order were A-OK, and I got my food in under a minute. Food was A-OK and overall; chicken was somewhat bland, but the honey mustard sauce that the sandwich came with, gave it some needed flavor and moisture. Wendy's fries are probably the second-best fries, IMHO, that a fast food restaurant has to offer. (Waffle fries, like Nacho Libre would say, is..... DA BEST!). A-OK, bye now. read more

Ate here a couple weeks ago on a weeknight. I was served the coldest burger I've ever gotten in my life. You may think, oh it was warm, it just wasn't hot. Wendy's is Wendy's. What more can I say. I had a limited time for lunch and didn't want to drive far. I'm not generally a fast food fan but I needed something quick and Wendy's was close by. I remember the old days when Dave Thomas was still living. Something has changed since we lost him. The service used to be very good. I remember long ago one of their signature service features was they would clear you trash for you. That stopped long ago. The food was take-out and I brought it back to my office. I had a small Single combo. I always remember the vegetables on their hamburgers being plentiful and fresh. Not anymore, or at least not on this visit. With lettuce, onion, pickle and tomato you expect a little crunch, but everything was soggy. It was unfortunate and a poor choice for me for my short lunch. There is a Culvers right next door. Sadly, 3 stars due to an issue. Went through drive through with my wife. We got breakfast sandwiches for us and our daughter. My wife and daughter do not eat pork. We asked at the order screen if the breakfast patties were beef or pork, or, a mix (we have never had Wendy's breakfast and thought they may just use their beef burger patties for the breakfast sandwiches). They answered beef. We then asked again when getting our food if the breakfast patties had pork in them. A different person said, "no, they are beef". While driving home we checked the website. First ingredient in the breakfast patties is PORK! Almost made my daughter sick! We went back and spoke to the manager. He was super nice and understanding and remade our orders with chicken and gave us fresh fries too. So, 3 stars for now due to the helpful manager (this was going to be a 1 star review; however, the manager accrued 2 extra stars for the great service). I assume that star rating will raise higher in the future with more visits. I do eat pork; I liked the sausage sandwich! I also got to try a chicken breakfast biscuit; very good too! So I used to work at Wendy's, different location. I have been disappointed in fast food lately. No one says hi anymore or makes any attempt to being half way pleasant over the drive thru speaker. But this location rocks. I have been thru at lunch time a few times over the last few weeks. Gabriel has taken my order and he rocks. He was so happy and could keep up with my fast ordering. When it comes to fast food, Wendy's oftentimes seems like the better option. Whether that is true or not, I shall leave you to decide. Regardless of its menu choices, this Wendy's service was definitely not the better option. I have gone to this location a handful of times, each time expecting something better. Fool me once, shame on you- fool me twice and thrice...okay, shame on me. During the afternoon hours, there oftentimes seems to be a very rude and impatient individual working the mic in the drive-thru. It is not a case of incorrect interpretation...she really is very rude. When I could not wrap my mind around the presence of a pretzel bun burger, I asked for a moment to think. She sighed loudly then said "you need more time? I guess...just tell me when you're ready". Then when I ordered, she questioned my decisions at least two times. Apparently she thought the meal I was ordering was for her so she should be able to choose what I purchased. Unfortunately, I was not ordering a meal for the two of us to share together. When I finished ordering, she said "okay" and never provided a total, said pull around- ya know, the usual. When I did pull around there was a gentleman taking the money, so I paid. The girl next to him looked at me, rolled her eyes and laughed. Nothing but the best service. The other times I have gone to this location and she wasn't working, my order was wrong. In fact, my order has never been completely right regardless of how many times I repeat what I want. I guess I will just have to drive a few miles further in order to indulge in Wendy's. read more

This Wendy's just moved into a new building right next to the old location, and it was a huge improvement! The new store has a cool contemporary style. They have a variety of different seating arrangements to suit various needs: 2 and 4 person tables, bar-style for single patrons, a lounge area with cool leather chairs, and a spot in the corner were everyone with laptops congregates. They have 2 of those awesome soda machines that let you choose like 100 different drink options...which is awesome (I chose diet mellow yellow). They only have 2 cash registers and a really small space for ordering, so I'm a little curious how cramped it will be during peak rush times. The drive through was well planned and has 2 ordering lanes, so I assume they are banking on more drive thru traffic...which makes sense for the area. My one drawback is that the front facade of the restaurant is all glass with a 20' tall (+/-) atrium that has a brutal greenhouse effect. Although it looks cool, the glass made it hot and uncomfortable to sit and eat. I was just toughing it out, then my buddy mentioned how unbearable it was for him and I finally broke and admitted I was sweating too. I can't imagine how much worse that would be in the summer, hopefully they add some more window tint or shades. read more

I went here for a food run for my work and the food was not the best. I know this is a fast food place however, the food should be at least warm. The fries tasted like they came straight out of the freezer. Everyone ordered chili with cheese and there was no cheese in any of our chili. There are also suppose to be crackers that come with the chili but we never got any. I also ordered a bake potato with sour cream on the side. Turns out they did not put sour cream in with my baked potato. Not only was the food not that great but the service sucked. I had two separate orders. When I ordered the first and went to order the second, the cashier said "let me make this order real quick" like why can't the people in the actual kitchen make it. Using the drive-through has never been more of a breeze at a Wendy's than on the night of April 4th, 2012 when I ordered three items off of the dollar menu at the Schaumburg location on Algonquin. After placing my order, I drove around to the payment window and as soon as I was handing my credit card over to the associate, she was handing me the food I had ordered not less than 30 seconds prior! Terrible Service. They messed up a large order and when I called for resolution the manager said he is sorry and what would i like him to do. I told him that is part of someones meal and he needs to bring us what is missing or said person can't eat. He said he can't do that and we would have to come there. i said so we get inconvenienced again and he said what do you want me to do, I said bring us our food, he said no we can come get it and he will give us a free jr frosty. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. tell that to the people hungry for lunch who can't come get your food.
