    Free peanuts available
    Rachel S.

Came here for dinner on a Monday evening. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and large cajun fries. Total came out to around $16. What's Hot - Free peanuts. Helpful and awesome! I was able to munch on peanuts while I was waiting for my friend, which was helpful. There is a metal scoop so that you can scoop out the peanuts (which are unshelled) without using your bare hands. They also provide small container for you to hold the peanuts. You could also take these peanuts with you if you don't finish them, which is convenient. - Portions. What I love love love about the fries is that they will scoop extra fries into your bag, which flows over the cup that holds your fries. I ended up having leftover fries for the next day. My bacon cheeseburger came with 2 meat patties, in addition to all the toppings I added on my burger- mushrooms, sautéed mushrooms, ketchup, and pickles. Their burger toppings come at no additional cost, too, which is helpful. - Quality. My cajun fries were definitely spicy and had a kick, which was yum! - Layout. It's a pretty decent layout. There are several tables and high stools by the window counter. - Service. Their staff are nice and helpful. I asked a couple of questions cuz it's been a while since I was last at a Five Guys. I also asked for an extra bag before I left so that I could hold my leftovers in a non-greasy bag. They answered my questions, were helpful, and gave me what I needed. - Location. It's in Oakland, which is convenient. However, because it's so close to University of Pitt, be prepared that this place can get busy with students. What's Not - Prices. Close to $20 for one meal and no drinks is pretty high. To be fair, their portions are pretty good. Just be prepared that a meal can cost you. That your burger toppings are free and that there are free peanuts may compensate for the higher cost of the individual items. - Location. The equalizer for the convenient location is that it can get busy. Additionally, this is not a place you drive to. Parking in this neighborhood is inconvenient. Walk or take the bus. - Cleanliness. Given that customers are shelling their peanuts and eating all their food out of the brown paper bags (which the food come in), it's easy for the tables and floors to get dirty. I didn't see any of their staff sweep the floor. I saw one of their staff come out and wipe a couple of tables once or twice. However, they don't appear adequately staffed to handle the restaurant at full capacity. Be prepared for there to be food droppings and whatnot on their tables. - Quality. Their burger was good, but not very flavorful. The taste seemed neutral and not seasoned. It's not bad, but I've had better. I like their cajun fries better than their burger. Put it this way, I wouldn't come here just for the burger. Final Answer Willing to come back, but I don't think their burger is their main attraction.

My first time at a Five Guys last Saturday for National Hamburger Day. I came here on a friends recommendation after seeing that BRGR's line was out the door. I had the cheeseburger with sauteed mushrooms and sauteed onions. They went really light on the topping only under the bottom of the two toppings to the point I could barely taste them. I find it only marginally better than a McDonald's quarter pounder with cheese, as another reviewer commented. That much said In-n-Out doesn't do much for me either, so I can see how some might disagree. I much prefer burgers where they grind their own beef and you can get something besides super well-done... I used to really like Fuddruckers before they went out of business.

I can't believe I never reviewed Five Guys! They have some of the best burgers I have ever had. They are a chain out of the Washington D.C. area. This is the first Five Guy's in the Pittsburgh area. It is right up the street from the O. They offer burgers, hot dogs and fries. You can choose from either a hamburger, cheeseburger, bacon burger or a bacon cheeseburger in two sizes a "little burger" single patty burger or two patty burger. All toppings are free including: mayo, relish, onions, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, ketchup, mustard, jalapeno peppers, green peppers, A-1 Sauce, bar-b-q sauce and hot sauce. I always get a bacon cheeseburger with mayo, lettuce, tomatoes, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, ketchup, green peppers and bar-b-q sauce! YUM They also offer kosher style hot dogs, cheese or bacon dogs, bacon cheese dogs, veggie dogs and grilled cheese. Fries are available in two styles, regular and cajun and are cooked in peanut oil. Be sure to grab some peanuts while you wait for your food.

There are 3 famous premium burger chains in US. Shake shak burger, in &out and 5guys. Pittsburgh has two of 5 guys and I went to the one near by U. Pitt. Its burger is amazing. You can see fresh ingredients on the picture I attached. So tasty and Sooo Huge. They provided diverse topping options but I simply chose "everything ". Its potato was totally different from others in a great way. Although its amount was really big, I didn't make any leftovers. Rich flavor and crispy texture stimulated my appetite. Don't forget about savory peanuts! You can try for free.

We've spent going on five months in Pittsburgh will my critically ill mother~in~law, so trying out all of the restaurants in the vicinity helped keep our sanity. This is my favorite place of them all. I don't eat a lot of bread, so imagine how thrilled I was to find the option of having my burger wrapped in lettuce! I generally eat there once a week. The fries are delicious and they even let you know where the potatoes for the day's fries were grown. There are boxes of peanuts in the shell for customers to shell and eat while you wait for your burger and fries to be cooked. It's one place I happily recommend. Those with peanut allergies probably should avoid it. Sad because the burgers are incredible!

The first time I walked past this restaurant I thought, "Oh, they have an In N Out here?!?" If you are going to create an In N Out knock off, why would you use the same red and white colors? There are plenty of two-color combinations to choose from. The burgers are HUGE. It's two patties and very messy. It's also 700 calories and 20 grams of saturated fat! Just the burger is about $5. Get the "Little Hamburger" if you want something more normal size. I also got the large cajun style fries. The fries are heavily seasoned, and not that fresh. The fries are about $5 and are enough to share between about three people. They also offer free peanuts. It would be nice if they had some dine-in trays, instead of only having take out hand outs. The burger comes wrapped in aluminum foil and everything is placed in a bag. I like the happy music they play here.

The burger is average, as are the fries, but is a notch above ordinary fast food. Excellent service.

Classic hot dogs with elevated flavors and genuinely good hearted owners!…read more Pittsburgh Street Dogs is tucked in the corner of a parking lot of Springdale... but they represent nationwide flavors with their creative and generously topped hot dogs!! From the moment I walked in, the owners greeted me and immediately walked me through the whole process. The menu is extensive, but they explained it all and were more than happy to take any other questions. You can tell these two love what they do with so much fun hot dog decor on every wall, Springdale High School gear draping the walls, and such creative and honor for their craft of delivering top notch food to their community! I ordered the Kansas City Chief Hot Dog, the Elote Hot Dog, and a side of Notorious RBC fries!! I added on a Turners Tea and a pack of Chocolate Crinkle cookies!! Let me just say... ILLL BE BACKKK again and again!! I got the order to go and they individually packed my ranch and my lime so that I could dress the items when I was ready to eat. The Kansas City Chief was amazing. Sauerkraut and Thousand Island bubbling out of the bun... but just that snap of the hot dog and perfect bun to hold all of the culinary chaos in. The Elote Hot Dog was just like you'd want. The lime juice popping off with the fresh sweet corn and spices!! The Notorios RBC should definitely be notorious such flavor with the ranch, bacon, chili, and cheese but the fresh French fries held up and had crisp crunch throughout. Turners Iced Tea in a carton.... That's just true yinzer code! And the cookiessss... it really was a brookie and mannnn it was decadent and moist... almost as if they baked them just that morning!! The price is soooo reasonable. The vibe is Pittsburgh dive. The food will knock your socks off! Hot dog. Hot dog. Hot diggity dog!!!

There are additional shaded tables outside, too. The staff is very friendly, and made us feel welcome. Our hot dogs were terrific, (natural casing, and they did have the satisfying "snap!" as advertised) and our cookies were also outstanding. There are plenty of sides, too. One menu item included a trio of mac & cheese, baked beans, and coleslaw. If you are a vegetarian, you will likely be able to find something to eat here. We will definitely stop back here if we're in the area again!

Their menu covers quite a few things. Pizza,, of course dogs and burgers, hoagies and salads. Plus. Any vegetarians out there definitely want to try this place. It was so nice to have OPTIONS. Tasty wings and great hot dogs equals my kind of restaurant!…read more They have a variety of wing flavors and truly get them right. They are decently sized (seriously, why are so many wings in Pittsburgh so tiny?!) and they cook them to the perfect level of crispy. They also have both blue cheese and celery (which can be surprisingly hard to find in Pittsburgh). They have a monthly hot dog flavor and they are always creative. I think my favorite may have been their buffalo chicken dip hot dog. They also have a set menu of some traditional combos (like a Chicago dog) but have some creative options like the pineapple one. The layout is interesting with some tables in the bar area (plus bar seating, some patio seating and a back room with additional tables. It can get busy, so there is often a wait.
